We hired Kathie (Maughan) after interviewing multiple contractors to renovate our loft in the Pearl District (original 1922 industrial building) from an awkward and chopped up office space into a place we could call long term home. Most important, our main home now is in Honolulu, HI and I needed someone I could trust long distance. I read many reviews about Kathie; most expressed their gratitude for communicating from distance, her attention to detail, and turn-key capabilities to do all work under a single contract. Her efforts were incredible including shipment of special reclaimed barn wood flooring from NY state, dealing with irregularities in sub floors, and most importantly, positively dealing with tenants in an office space below us that were impacted by the construction including falling debris and our plumbing that went into their space. A beautiful bathroom and laundry was also created including custom concrete countertops, deep Japanese style soaking tub, and creation of custom cabinets and doors from reclaimed truck bed wood. So unique and original; this place is now a gem. Kudos to Kathie & Maughan Design!
