Uplift Studios has quickly become one of my favorite places to work out. I love the comfort and ease of it being a women-only studio, and the instructors are all incredibly upbeat and encouraging. The variety of classes, and routines within each, is great; really keeps things interesting. I leave every class feeling energized (and sweat soaked!).

I LOVE this studio! The strength class is a great 45min full body class that incorporates different free weights, bands and your own body weight. Instructors are always so friendly and welcoming, I particularly like the "all women" environment. Great facilities if you need to get ready there for work etc. It's super comfortable and it really is about female empowerment!

LOVE this studio! It's such a positive, welcoming environment. I'd say all classes are about mod-mod/advanced level (you will work and sweat) but with options for modifications if you need. Honestly you could go through everything at beginner level if you were recovering from an injury or something like that. Everyone is very accommodating and knowledgeable. Highly recommend to all women!

Very welcoming and friendly studio that offer a variety of classes. Sculpt and Strength are my favorite and have become part of my workout routine, helping me come back from injury. Every instructor I've had has provided low impact options and is aware if you have any injuries. Lots of personal attention! Can't recommend this place enough!

I am sad that it took me so long to discover this place. It is truly a special spot. The classes don't feel intimidating when you enter and because it is women only, there is also a niceness to that as well. Don't be fooled though, these classes are difficult and effective. The strength one is my favorite that includes a combination of heavy and light weights with a few rounds of intense tabata. Lastly, the bathroom literally has everything you could ever need including a flat iron and sunscreen.

I ve been coming to Uplift on and off and it is definitely one of my favorite workouts on ClassPass. I like the smaller class sizes and that it s all women working out so you don t feel self conscious. I also got a free tank when they did a raffle a while back and I am happy to wear while getting into shape! Oh, and their locker rooms are stocked with awesome hair and body products

Uplift was an accidental find for me that has changed the way I workout in NYC! As a Cali transplant, I missed the intimacy of small groups and of the type of classes that I had taken out there. I felt like so many classes and other studios just weren t right for me. But this is my new favorite place, not just to work out but to hang out for a half hour before my class to have a complementary cup of coffee, freshen up in the amenity stocked locker room and get into the zone before a fast paced 45 minute class.

I have now taking five classes here, with all different instructors, and they are all super fun and different every time. Yes they are extremely challenging! But it s also possible to modify. I have had injuries in other classes at other studios, but feeling like I m in a positive and supportive environment here, and being given alternatives to exercises has kept me healthy and free of pain! OK well a little muscular pain from kicking butt, but nothing to send me to the chiropractor! :)

They also do special classes mid day at community rates. Another thing I appreciate about Uplift is they have relationships that extend beyond just fitness, with companies that are concerned about nutrition and overall wellness. I appreciate the thoughtfulness and holistic approach!

This is not the cheapest place to work out, but it is for me, best.

I love coming to Uplift! The classes are challenging but always doable and all of the instructors are super friendly and welcoming. The variety of classes makes it easy to switch up. I only wish they were able to get a bigger locker room or move into a bigger space. They deserve more recognition!

The studio is clean, well-equipped, and the instructors are great. I've been going for only about a month but I've already noticed an increase in my energy levels. I always feel really accomplished after finishing a workout at Uplift. I recommend trying it out.

This studio is wonderful! There is an emphasis on doing movements that feel right to you, modifying where you need to. There is no one telling you to lift heavier or squat deeper just for the sake of it. The classes and people are friendly and supportive and I always feel good the moment I walk in the door!

Uplift Studios is one of my favorite places to work out! My go-to class is Power I always feel like I ve had an intense, full-body workout after completing it. The instructors are great motivators and the music is always on-point! One of the best things about Uplift (besides the workouts, of course) is its welcoming, empowering vibe. I ve never felt intimated or incapable there. I highly recommend!

Classes are small with personal attention paid to each member. Sculpt class is low impact high intensity intervals which are challenging but accessible to all. The teachers make it fun and the time flies by. I always break a sweat and feel it in my muscles the next day. Always an amazing experience at uplift.

I really like this place! I took the Strength class through Classtivity and I think the workout was perfect in every way.

The class was small enough (8-10 people) to where you feel like you were getting enough personal attention and was a good mix of both high intensity tabata style cardio and strength exercises (it's so important for women to do weight training). The instructor was great (I believe her name was Chelsea?) and pushed you to do your best, even if that meant modifying some of the exercises.

As everyone says, the facilities are also super nice and include thoughtful touches that only an all-women's studio would think of like bobby pins. Overall, I'd return if I can get a great deal here.

Not only do I find the class offerings at uplift to be of great variety and intensity, their community oriented way of approaching fitness for women has taken away the intimidation I tend to feel when it comes to working out in groups/public. I feel so supported there. They also have events that go towards the other aspects of wellness besides the physical (mental health, financial and professional leadership workshops, a support group for people dealing with the loss of a parent to name a few) and they work very well to modify their classes and training for your particular condition (ex they have a trainer who has survived breast cancer and works specifically to get breast cancer survivors in the gym and improve their range of motion in their upper body after chemo/surgery). Can not recommend them enough

I'm a really big fan of the Express class, which I've been taking for the past few weeks now. It gives my body a full workout, and I always finish the class feeling invigorated and proud of myself for getting though it! I already see my body getting stronger which is very motivating! The studio is in a convenient location and the amenities are great!

I Love ALL of the classes at Uplift. Every class is challenging, motivating and hard-core. I feel accomplished and energized after finishing each class. The instructors motivate you to work hard. Each class has some similar moves, but the classes are not repetitive or boring. The studio is clean, the staff is friendly and the classes are never overcrowded.

Uplift has become one of my favorite workout studios in NYC. All of the staff and instructors are extremely friendly, nice, and non judgmental. The classes are small so you don t get lost in the shuffle and you get feedback from instructors. The workouts are challenging but not to the point where I get discouraged and I always feel sore the next day! The studio and facilities are clean. Would definitely recommend!

I think I've found my new favorite studio! I found Uplift on Class Pass a few weeks ago and have been going once a week ever since. I am a big fan of the Uplift Express and Strength class were you work all different parts of your body and leave knowing you had a great work out! The instructors have all been nothing but helpful, especially dealing with my lower back injury. I do not feel intimidated in the classes since they encourage you to go at your own pace. I'm excited to continue to go to Uplift and try new classes in the next few weeks. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a nice, challenging, but fun work out.

I have been pleasantly surprised by the classes offered at Uplift! The small class sizes allow each person to get individual feedback and encouragement and the facilities are clean and modern. The locker rooms have a lot of amenities for women including hairspray and deodorant sprays. Definitely a studio to check out.

I ve always been a big fan of the Strength class with Jess. I like her class so much, that I was hesitant to take a different class. This morning I tried Sculpt and was so pleased! Even though the class is Low Impact, I worked up a huge sweat. I loved all the flute work and I m so sore (in a good way!!)

I love this studio. The endurance class with Andi is by far one of the beat classes I ve taken. Upbeat, challenging and the music is great. All the instructors are extremely encouraging and helpful. I always look forward to my workouts. Showers are clean and well-stocked.

Been going to Uplift for a year now. It's a very body positive place womens' studio with cheerful attitude and atmosphere. Every individual receives the instructor's personal attention because they limit their group classes to a small size which is nice. I love the Express class they offer which combines their 4 signature classes - Sculpt, Strength, Endurance and Power. All classes are moderate-advanced level, but they do offer modifications for people with injuries - which makes me feel much more comfortable. Highly recommend this place!

I moved to New York but I didn't know anyone and I wanted a positive environment where I could learn strength training to increase my endurance when I run . At Uplift they make you feel so welcome and give you personalized pointers to make sure you're doing the exercises properly. They even organize events like hikes, so it's a great way to make new friends! Highly recommend.

Awesome, friendly, all women fitness spot near Madison Square Park! Studio space and locker room are standard size for a boutique gym in NYC. From staff to instructors and fellow clients, everyone is helpful and kind. The classes itself are right up my alley. High intensity, heavy cardio, mixed with strength training and recovery time. The Strength class in particular is a great full body workout. Their workouts will give you that strong, yet lean and toned body unlike WODs at Crossfit, which in my opinion, creates a more "bulky" shape.

Tips: If first time, A.) Pull the outside door handle towards you after buzzing up, and B.) If you peek in and there are folks working out, no worries, walk right on in the space is bigger than your first impression, and you won't be interrupting a class or anything.

I wish this class was more challenging - I could have used more of a push. But the instructor was great and it moves fast so it goes by quickly. I took a morning class and it was easy to get ready at the studio as they have showers and provide necessities such as hair products, etc. which made the experience really nice. Also like that it is women only so everyone is really positive. Would recommend for a pre office workout!

As someone who gets anxiety even thinking about going to a work our class surrounded by people who are super fit I LOVE coming to classes at uplift. Work outs are challenging(in a good way) and the support is provided for women across all levels. I feel welcome and supported by all the other strong women there. Highly recommend for a great work out surrounded by equally great ladies.

A fitness studio dedicated to empowering, uplifting and inspiring WOMEN. There are no judgements here, only encouragement and a good workout for everyone who comes through the doors! Great facilities as well. Everything you can think of available to help you get back to your day after your sweat.

I love this place! The instructors are so attentive and professional, and the space is great.
I m pregnant and hate going to prenatal classes, I like feeling normal and exercising as usual. Unfortunately, I m restricted in some ways and I m always afraid I ll do something that would not be appropriate and injure or ruin my body. In uplift, I always get great guidance that I trust, without feeling I m compromising my workout intensity .

I love Uplift! It's always a good work out and I can always feel the soreness the next day (but in a "I got a great work out" kind of way). The instructors are energetic and attentive. Fun music. They have a variety of classes that suit your needs. I highly recommend this studio! : )

Such a lovely studio! I saw their strength class on Classpass and went on a whim, and now I have gone back every week since! The classes are the perfect level of challenging. I especially like the low impact sculpt class as I can work up a sweat without jumping all around the room. The facilities are great, too. I actually love getting ready for work in the morning in their locker room because they have everything I need (hairspray, bobby pins, mouthwash.. some very thoughtful stuff that makes my morning easier).

I've taken group classes & also done personal training sessions and had great experience with both at this studio. The classes are challenging and small enough that instructors are really paying attention to you and making sure that you are doing everything correctly. When I inquired about personal training, I appreciated that they had a through questionnaire and then that they matching me with a trainer who I'm really enjoying working with and who was interested in my aims and goals, rather than just taking me through a generic work-out.

I love the Endurance class. It s a high intensity workout class that gets your heart rate up, gets you breathing heavily and a guaranteed sweat. However, it s not intimidating in any capacity and is perfect for anyone of any level. I work out 5-6 days a week but take the class with my friend who is just new to exercising and we are each able to modify the exercises to get the workout that is best for us. The routine encompasses body weight exercises like push ups, basic moves like lunges and squats coupled with cardio blasts like mountain climbers and burpees. I love Uplift for its welcoming and supportive environment and for its message of women empowerment and strength, and for giving women a place of their own to feel comfortable and focus on themselves.

Great classes and instructors! I was never a group fitness person but that all changed when I started going to uplift. I have been to all four of their classes as well as their express class and have thouroughly enjoyed them all. Highly recommend taking a class at this studio.

Amazing studio for HIIT classes, as well as slower tempo strength training as well as extended cardio endurance. The women here truly are about uplifting each other in the best of ways and the workout is always challenging, rejuvenating and energizing.

I love the Power class, as well as Endurance. Each instructor has their own personal style, but every single one delivers a fun and motivating class.

The only thing that takes one star away from a perfect review is the state of the showers. I realize it's an older building in Flatiron but I wish the showers would be gutted. They tend to hold a pungent body odor smell and the tiles/grout are quite ..crusted. It's nothing that will stop me from coming here or enjoying the studio though.

I came to Uplift having barely worked out over the past 10 years, and 4 weeks later I take Strength 3 times a week, bought a Blink Fitness pass to workout on the side, am noticing improvements in my performance (hey that bag of dog food is lighter) to my appearance. My bf is getting a little tired of me flexing to him with sound effects. I personally love the all-female atmosphere. All the other clients are pretty chill women. There is something about weight training with only other women - you aren't thinking about looking attractive, being checked out in yoga pants, or at least for beginners the different levels of strength btw men and women. The instructors often remind us we aren't competing against any other woman in the room, only ourselves. They also truly make an effort to know your name and advise on modifications for injuries. My spine is fused with titanium - and they've been so wonderful to discreetly help me not injure myself and still keep making gains. I also think it's great they offer events and sessions like on financial health, emotional health, etc. All about women's empowerment. I'm moving to SF in a month and Uplift will be one of the biggest things I miss.
