Super fun place. 3 levels with a club downstairs, a chill bar upstairs which was closed on sunday when I was there and the main bar was fun, good music great beer selection and good specials.
Nice place to have a beer after work. Awesome staff!
Place was cool! Bartender super nice and server. The underground part was nice! We met up there for a club crawl. Super cool spot.
Got thrown out after being assigned a table. Reason: we need this table upstairs for a bigger group.
Thats simply rude and unprofessional.
Lots of space and they play boyband music at close.
Needs a lot more ventilation, the underground dance floor smells like mold.
If you're a dude, there's cover charge. If said charge offered access to an environment that did not smell like a festering locker room submerged daily in a rotting peat-bog, I'd have considered a more neutral review. Alas, unsavory odors permeate all 3 stories of this venue, the worst of which, unsurprisingly, being the lower basement marked for dancing. If you're coming to dance, don't forget your supplemental oxygen or don't be surprised when hypoxia sets in due to the lower story having no discernible air flow. Lastly, though there is more I could expound upon, when ordering a non-alcoholic drink, the bartender felt he had to repeat the order 3 times at full volume to ensure those nearby could hear it was a *gasp* tonic and soda water. It wasn't a case of not hearing clearly.
I love how the prices go up and down like wall street stocks do!
If you want a drink but dont want to wait in line, this is your place.
The staff is unbelievably friendly! The bartenders are sharp and attentive at all times. If the bouncer tells you to get out, listen to them!
Love this place; but they need to be more selective on the chaps who swing in
Security guard Trent went above and beyond! He showed us around as we were not staying long and were not able to come on a weekend when the other levels were open. Drinks were good, but need to work on consistency among all staff as I had a drink from the menu made 2 different ways and they did not taste the same. Would ve loved to see this place before this pandemic.
Meh. Weird vibe. Not very welcoming. A cover each time I went.
When my friend drank too much and had to be asked to leave, every employee we dealt with was super considerate and friendly. It was a total non issue. Good beer, great atmosphere, wonderful staff. Love it.
Service was good. Beer was cold. On weekends has live music.
Cool atmosphere. The stock market drinks are a fun idea. There was a live musician singing, he did a good rendition of Amy Winehouse's Valerie. Overall, it was a slow night; played connect four and had a few drinks.
Great place for a beer, awesome selection and friendly atmosphere
I was taking a few customers there I have not been inside. I heard it was good.
Gorgeous nightclub and bar. I loved the decor and I really enjoyed dancing in the fog in the basement
Fun place to drink in the heart of downtown San Deigo.
Fun decor, no cover. Bar and games on the first floor. Bar and meeting spots upstairs. Bar and dance floor in the speakeasy.
Tried to get in. Was thrown out because of a shirt the front guy had no issues with. Literally the worst place on earth unless you want to get some sub par looking humans. By the way. No one was there.
We went for a late snack and drinks. The upstairs was busy but not overly crowded. The bartender was attentive, friendly and quick. The food was a pleasant surprise! I mean, it s a bar and I didn t expect it to be good, well, it was! It was also quick!
Awesome bar to watch the pats games! Lots of TVs upstairs that make it easy to see. Definitely get there early if you want a table and a chance at the free clam chowder during the game. Our waitress was super attentive too for a busy bar. Will be going back for more games!
Nice 3 story bar. Downstairs is a club not typically open during the week. Walk in level is a bar. During the week during happy hour has a stock market for drink prices. ( Really Cool!) Top level is more laid back leather couches and a pool table and on tuesday night its trivia.
My wife bought a drink. Left her wallet at the bar. The bartender tells my wife I don't have ur wallet but I did find ur Costco card behind the bar. Really ???? Who tries to buy a drink with a Costco card. Did the bartender think we were that ignorant????? WOW REALLY. then she tells my wife I don't have anything else for u but ur Costco card. How the f#%^ did my wife's Costco card get behind the bar in the first place??????? Riddle me that batman
The physical space is pretty cool, gives you a taste of the older, grittier gas lamp. It's a fine place to stop in for a drink during the afternoon and early evening. During prime time it's a zoo.
I didn't bring enough for drinks and a tip but Justin (I believe was his name) still have me amazing service! I'll be going back if for no other reason than to drop off some cash for him. Their mac is pretty delicious too
Good food & drinks...atmosphere is definitely on point.
The DJ wasn't too good when I went besides that super nice inside with great service !
Excellent food. Great service. Best bar in the Gaslamp. I m from Detroit and stop here once or twice each trip to SD.
Very very poorly managed. I arrived with a group of five friends after a birthday dinner. I looked at my watch and it was 1:22. I asked one of the security team at the door if we had enough time for one drink at the bar because I was sure last call was at 1:30. He was very friendly and said something like: oh sure you've still got 10 min to order. I spent 45$ on our 5 drinks after a 5 or 6 min wait trying to get service at the bar and before they even arrive the bouncers are saying we have 3 min to get out of the bar. I ran right back to the bar and pled my case to the same bartender. She assured me that they were just trying to get people moving.
The long story-short is that they yanked my drink and 2 others drinks out of our hands at around 1:45. I told them I hadn't had anything to drink before that bar and that I wasn't trying to be difficult, but that I felt really taken advantage of.
My group of friends all had the impression that they were getting close to physical violence with me. They started saying that San Diego has a zero tolerance law and trying to intimidate me by grabbing my arms.
The bartender who told me not to worry would not come back over to plead my case to them.
When we got outside I immediately ran into 2 other couples with very, very similar stories.
This may be the worst treatment I've ever had in a bar in my life. Every complaint i made was prefaced with "i am sober and really not trying to be difficult but..." I wish I could do something other than review to help people avoid this awful environment. I have never had any bar workers touch me or grab my beer before in my life. The sign on the door and the staff immediately next to it and behind the bar led me to believe I could pay for and enjoy one beer last night
One of the best places downtown! It has a great atmosphere and an awesome staff!
I love this place they have amazing customer service great atmosphere great music
More bar atmosphere than restaurant. I wanted to try eating here it came highly recommended....
but very loud atmosphere.
Had a great time with musician Josh Ferreira! Big problem with bartenders...twice they overcharged us and threw a self made tip into their jug! Great time but watch ur money!!!
It's good. Not great. Fun place with a group of friends
If my goal for the night is to simply get drunk in a fun atmosphere, then the tipsy crow is where it's at. Usually have great DJs too.
Great, fun night out here in cool San Diego, over 3 floors.
The Tipsy Crow has a relaxed atmosphere where customers enjoy gathering in booths & around tables to play games available while having a drink together. The idea of the drinks prices board showing prices going up & down depending on their popularity is good fun too.
Great team behind the bar.
Too crowded and the basement dance room smells like sweaty ball sacks.
Awesome music! Great place for a bachelorette they gave me a penis balloon
This place is super balling. Linda is so cool, like seriously. Also lobster rolls will blow your mind
Great bar that has it all. 3 levels depending on your vibe. First level is a traditional bar vibe, second level is a little bit more of a classier vibe, and the basement level is where you get down and dance; club vibe. Also the food is surprisingly REALLY good. It's not bar food at all, everything I've tried has exceeded expectations; Gourmet stuff, no lie
Really cool laid back place in the day, but it definitely gets very crowded, busy, and loud later in the night. Drinks are creative and delicious, good beer selection. Got the soft pretzel to eat, very fluffy and warm.
Fun 3 floor bar. Top floor is chill for people who want to talk and drink in a more casual environment. Ground floor is your typical bar with more noise and some games. Basement floor is more underground with loud music, lasers and more club vibes with a bar there too. Great vibes for anyone for anyone looking for a sweet night out
You can talk to someone. Pretty decent beer selection. Reasonable staff.
I loved the happy hour deals. Also the liquor market prices changing on the screen with the amount of orders is really cool :)
This is a great place to get a drink but, but the only thing I didn't care for was they do not serve Long island ice tea
