Best restaurant in the area. Excellent food, no matter the season. I am always blown away by the quality of ingredients and every dish is superb. This is my most favorite American restaurant, not only because the menu variety, but the because of the atmosphere. I love the old building and classic yet up to date amenities. Keep it up Tewks!

Ate lunch there yesterday, my wife both ordered something different, both came with bread that was well over done, wife mentioned it to waiter nothing done. As I looked at mine the toast was burnt (black crust) I took the bread off and started to eat filling. Waiter came by and I had him take the burnt toast to the chef.

When we went to pay we mentioned to the waiter that the meal was so bad do we have to pay for it, another person came out and after a heated discussion we got 50% off.

This is our first time back in over a year because of a poor meal and more than likely our last visit

We ate on the patio for lunch which was nice. The four tops are a bit crowded, but hey it's a patio. Service was prompt and attentive. We tried the flat bread pizza and we did not love the tomato sauce. We sort of wish there was a kids menu...our 5 and 8 year olds made due on the regular menu but that would have been nice. The hummus dish was awesome btw. I enjoyed the salmon and veggie pita. All in all a good experience on a nice Saturday afternoon.

Just had a delicious meal here with my wife. Ive been eating here for the past 20 yrs and having recently returned to the area i have to say im still impressed. We sat outside by the bar, our server Max was good at his job, not too pushy, just attentive and cheerful.
The food was excellent, cinnamon fried pork belly with quail eggs and a fillet mignon. Simply superb!!

There aren't many dining options in the surrounding area, so this is definitely a local hotspot in the Tweksburry area. However, it's not just the lack of other options that make it such a hot spot. The food is great, they make a good cocktail and the outdoor seating in the high country of NJ almost always offers a nice cool evening of outdoor dining in the summer. If you're not from the area, this spot is worth the drive. Dont expect a modern fancy looking millennialish restuarant, this is an old historic inn building that fits right into the neighborhood its located in.

Always a pleasure to visit this restaurant. About average cooking. Great salmon dish. Others are very good also. Enjoy eating in the bar area. Dining room is also enjoyable. Also offers Al fresco dining. Staff members are knowledgeable and friendly. Prices reasonable. Street parking. Love it

Burgers looked fantastic, but I had a Nicois salad, just so-so at best. Service was harried, still no reason to be rude as we waited for our third. Dirty looks and a verbal comment, "... You're still waiting?..." , we were early they couldn't find the reservation and decided to stay us anyway. Atmosphere was loud and jovial among the obvious regulars. The only reason I might return is to try the burger. We sat on the, "bar side", can't comment on the white linen side.

This is a lovely old Inn and the staff, food and atmosphere are all wonderful. The dishwasher is related to the guy at the gas station and the waitress knows your cousin if you live here you'd get it. It's a beautiful area and the Inn is a perfect setting there.

Cozy place. I had an excellent salmon tartare and my steak frites were good, but the French Fries were (while themselves excellent) drenched in juice from the steak when they came to the table, which was rather unappealing. The dessert took a long, long time to arrive but was excellent.

I can only give this place a three star review because we had a 7:30 p.m. reservation and my sister and brother-in-law were traveling in from NYC. They had a delay at the tunnel and were running late. When my husband and I went in to sit down at 7:30 to have a drink and appetizer, they refused to seat us because the entire party was not there. We waited outside in the cold until we decided to call the Pluckemin who gave us an 8:30 reservation and saved our evening. I WAS looking forward to trying their food but will NOT plan a dinner there for more than two people in the future.

Lovely name , brings a smile to your face. Lovely atmosphere, Each time we go we sit maybe in a different room and it always feels comforting. Great outside patio/dinning experience. **Even driving here is beautiful to see all the victorian houses/horse fields . the best salmon tartare never had it like that before, Hard working staff Friendly . Dinner was memorable, and highly recommend. Can't wait to do it again.

Service and food were a major disappointment. Went for the first time on our anniversary on a Monday night. Waited 20 minutes before anyone came to our table. Ordered the hanger steak and my wife got the Filet. Mine was overcooked and tough. My wife's was actually tied together to look like a normal cut of the tenderloin. Her's was so tough she had trouble cutting it with a steak knife. But by that time we were so hungry we didn't want to send it back and wait all over again. Told the waiter and he simply said that the seafood dishes are better. Then at the end I caught a error on my check where the server had charged me twice for the appetizers. Waiter said he was aware of it but the manager had forgotten to take if off the check. No manager came to apologize. Too many strikes against them. Will not be returning.

I love everything about the Tewks. The food is excellent, the staff is made up of friendly service oriented people and the wine list has a lot of great offerings without being overpriced. In addition to all of this the building has historic charm. One of my favorite places.
