Customer service extremely poor for a 4 star hotel, staff lacked enthusiasm and didn't even ackowledge us as we walked in reception.
Also, we had to move hotels to a futher away hotel for the first night as black hotel said they were fully booked...
When we eventually got a room in the hotel it was 2 beds pushed together, and there was no mini fridge?
Futhermore, the pool was closed during our stay which was never specified prior to the booking. The 'breakfast buffet' was utterly terrible, all the hot food was cold, even at the start. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

In the hotel, in style, in some ways steam punk ... Antique brass, but at the same time a modern setting make it very nice. Buffet for dinner, at a really affordable price in a romantic setting ... Well organized conference room. I didn't stay to sleep, but next time who knows ...

Bad experience very hot and very sultry room we asked for some shampoo because the room was unprovided but it was brought to us after several hours and after 3 phone calls the staff are very unfriendly and polite, and icing on the cake during check out, upon payment of the tax my friend living in Rome pointed out that it was exempt but the lady at the reception refused to believe it and despite ..... having already the photocopies of our documents, she asked to see it .... . my friend replied that they already had copies ..... but she with little education said let me see the documents otherwise I write that you refuse, for us this hotel has been added to the black list ..... and I will do the publicity it deserves ..... thanks

Stayed on the 3rd floor which has a slanted ceiling. Unless you and under 3 foot tall be prepared to be bent over most of the time. Beds were hard but we slept ok, carpets were not clean & there was marks on the walls. The shower head leaked but there was at least hot water. WiFi only worked in reception where you can get a drink from the bar. The reception area is the nicest part of the hotel. Went to use the fitness centre one morning & was met with an empty room! A trek from the hotel to the metro station along a main road so we got the shuttle & then a taxi back in the evening from the metro... was ok for the price & staff were friendly but I wouldn t stay here again.

Too baf location there is no footpath to reach here and nearest bus stop is 800 metres atleast that too last 500 meters without path for walking. It ia nightmare to come here. No places to eat out near by. For obvious reasons. They mention many services in there site like free shuttle, sauna, swimming pool etc, so let me tell you shuttle is charged per trip per person to nearest metro, also sauna never works as always under repair, swimming pool works in some particular season, i think it never comes. Highly disappointed. Its at least two hours from main train station.

My dad, together with other doctors from the Philippines, checked in Friday evening at this hotel for a convention thay had to attend. They were told that they were in a 4 star hotel. On Saturday early morning, they all left for the cardiologists' convention, which lasted the entire day. When they returned to the hotel at night from the convention, 3 of the doctors were appalled to realise that their room was broken into. Their luggages were opened, money all gone, including 6 thousand pesos (Philippine currency), credit cards all taken, and other personal belongings. What was more disturbing was that the door seemed undamaged. It was an extremely CLEAN ENTRY. Inside job? Most likely.
They complained to the clerk/staff at the lobby but was told that it could not have been their cleaners because their cleaners have been there for ages and they had many many many more excuses. The staff member that they approaced did not appear bothered by the situation and did not show the slightest bit of sympathy. They all went to the police station the next day, stayed there for hours, got questioned, and left with absolutely nothing. The police officers made it appear that they didn't know how to speak english, thus was making it extremely hard for my dad and his companions to communicate with and file a decent complaint. So nothing was done, not even an apology from the hotel. PLEASE DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL. They also stole from a Swedish doctor. Nothing worst than a hotel that steals from you. Good job Black Hotel! Extremely appalling and disgusting service. The hotels in the Philippines are truly a much safer place because if you check in a 4 star hotel or even just a 3 star hotel, you don't get treated the way my dad and his companions were treated. Such a shame. NO STAR FOR YOU if it was possible to do so.

very small single beds. The black color of the hotel is not to my liking.
The door of the room difficult to open and close. Far from the center. The environment of the hotel dirty. My room It was not swept during my stay. Dirty pool. Broken curtain. The tax per person of 6 euros per day per person is very high. I would not return to this hotel.

Black Hole.... Sorry, Black Hotel: Very difficult to find. Following the directions on their website we ended up walking along the roads with our bags playing chicken with the very heavy traffic. Miles away from anywhere and very unwelcoming! The hotel is trying to be a trendy boutique hotel but falling far short of the mark. Dark, dingy and very tired. The bed was very hard, we had only one flat pillow each and just a thin sheet to protect us from the icy blasts of air dropping straight onto our heads from the air conditioning (which would not turn off) so we froze all night! One guy on reception was helpful, the rest were very rude, totally disinterested and most unhelpful. As there is nothing but a shoe store and a supermarket in the immediate vacinity, we had to eat at the hotel on the first night, this is NOT recommended. Although the waiter was pleasant enough, the food was awful. My booking agent had requested a room with a nice view and a late checkout. Our room looked out over bins and rubbish and as for late checkout, forget it, unless you want to pay 30.We had to wander around Rome and the airport from 11am until our flight at 21.45! If you choose to pay for the hotel shuttle into town be sure to take the hotel phone number with you, they forgot to collect us, I had to ring the hotel to remind them! Yes, it is a low cost hotel, but how it can be advertised and sold as 4* is beyond me! 2* is pushing it a bit! I would rate it as follows..... Location 0*, Cleanliness 3*, Staff 1*, Overall stay 2* Would I stay there again? NEVER!

TLDR - an (at best) 3 star hotel pretending to be a 4 star hotel

Location 2/5 - hotel is far from city centre, off a highway and we have spent ~10 euro to get to nearest metro station

Food 3/5 - did not try dinner but breakfast was always stale (bread and pastries), often cold and average in terms of variety

Pool 3/5 - lovely pool but only open 3h in the morning and 3h in the afternoon with a 3h break in the middle. Also closed on Tuesdays. I had booked this hotel specifically for the pool but was only able to go one day because of the schedule.

Room 3/5 - our room was good sized for 2 people but with 3 coat hangers only. TV was good sized but we weren't able to find any non-italian or subtitled programmes. AC only able to cool down room to 26 C despite discussing with reception (AC cannot be controlled from room)

WIFI 3/5 - average for hotel WIFI, connects but slow and sometimes had to use roaming for pages to load

Staff 3/5 - staff at reception and breakfast were polite and helpful. Cleaning staff were usually some kids who would pump up the music as they were cleaning and would wake everyone up. Also they would come in to your room regardless of the do not disturb sign.

How could this hotel be a 4star Hotel. It is not in the center of Rome. The minibar in our room didn't work. The restroom was old and with molds. There were no terrace. Our room was located near the lobby and the dining room. So it was really noisy. Only a black wall separated the 3 rooms from the dining room. What was not amusing was the pool. It closes at 7pm.

There is a Mcdonalds and a Supermarket near to it but there is no lights in the night and you have to be careful because there is no sidewalk.

The soundproofing effect of the room was particularly poor. I lived on the first floor. The staff should stay around and the noise of the door next door. The staff at 4 or 5 in the morning chatted loudly outside the door. The network is extremely unstable, the experience is very poor, how can there be such a garbage 4 star hotel? Worse hotel ever!

Excellent property in a fairly quiet suburban location, but still very close to the GRA; location with excellent pool to relax after a day of meeting. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very affordable value for money. Dinner available in good quality buffet at a great price.
A mite perhaps the breakfast room a little small for the rooms available.

A hotel more within the hotels in Rome that seem to give them the stars. If you have a car like my case, well, because you are far from the chaos of the center. But if you move on public transport, forget about it. The rooms are well sized but if you touch the top of the ceiling. Better those on the ground floor. In passable staff but I have seen people more prepared and willing

The location is not the best, but taking the bus that is on the avenue, across the supermarket from the camping rome. Then when I take bus 146 (if I'm not mistaken, I forgot exactly but I think it's that number) you can get off at the door of the metro station q interliga rome, the bus ticket can be bought at the campsite! This same ticket can be used on the metro! 1,50euro if I'm not mistaken. The hotel has an excellent breakfast, which makes it worth the stay. The hotel offers a van that leaves in the morning for a station that has a train for Vatican. And another van to the subway station that the bus takes, but they charge more than the bus. The tip I give is: do not be afraid! Try, face the bus yes. There is a seven-headed beast down at the right point. Only pay attention you get. Take a searched on Google maps q he teaches straight for the bus station and q have q down, the bus it are as q, u gives signal raising his arm at him catch you and press the stop button to descend. At the hotel they offer map and information, we speak basic English and we can communicate. I had a receptionist who spoke a little Portuguese! In the supermarket you have near the hotel is great! It is very worth going there, the bus on the way back to his door, just press the stop as soon as you see that it is passing under the viaduct crossing on foot to take the bus on the other side, no mistake, just pay attention . The walk way to the hotel's point is wilderness, but have no fear. We spent it 21hrs, 22hrs and nothing happened to us, on the contrary, passed by single women, gentlemen, the reality is different from daq, but remember always alert! In the most, enjoy rome, wonderful place !!!!!

A good hotel close to the area of my interest. Small but neat and clean rooms.
The bathrooms are also small but with everything you need (shower, bidet and toilet).
Presence of mini fridge in the room.
Enjoy your breakfast.
It is also possible to have dinner.
Modern interior and exterior environment. Friendly and welcoming staff

The hotel looks good, but needs some renovation and maintenance work. The rooms are nice, large, bright and clean, with parquet and comfortable beds. Bathrooms comfortable and well furnished. But lights, lampshades minimal, minibar and electric sockets, the curtains .. are often broken or malfunctioning. The mouquet that decorates the common spaces is dirty and smelly. The cleanliness of the hotel is good. Also good breakfast, but does not offer great choice for intolerant to gluten and dairy ... The pool adds great value. The staff at reception is not always kind ...

A comfortable modern hotel that is on the outskirts of Rome. It is not ideally located for central Rome unless you have a car or have the money to spend on taxis as it takes a five to ten minutes walk to a bus and then onto the underground Metro train all of which takes around an hour to get into the historic areas. For those without a car It is not ideal but it is in a quiet location and is well run.

I think the "black" is because from the bus stop to the hotel you have to walk 15 minutes on a road without an area "no space" for pedestrians in which there is not a single light. We had to go with the phone's flashlight so as not to put our foot in any of the many holes of that nightmare path. The hotel very original: with its brothel style decoration, napkins instead of towels and no wifi in my room because I was caught away from the repeater. On departure, we charge the tourist tax as usual ... but add two more people. Luckily when claiming, they tell us that it has been a mistake and it is solved without problem.
I certainly would not repeat it.

quite okay hotel located a bit outside rom city, bus to the metro and in works well, costs 1.5 simple, we took a taxi into the city to save time, costs a little more, simple was 12-24 and then was 24 in the morning with a lot of traffic.
all good with the hotel except the restaurant, bad food and they charge a service fee of 12% even on their own hotel guests which I think is bad.

We stayed for 2 nights. Pleasant rooms, we were treated to 2 adjoining rooms for us and our 2 little girls, with very cozy terraces.
Sanitary to refresh. However, be careful with the location of the rooms assigned because we were in the basement and on the way to the breakfast rooms, so a lot of noise in the corridors very early in the morning. School groups also welcome.
The restaurant within the hotel allows you to eat with a varied buffet, inexpensive, with soft drink included and fairly wide hours.

Travel from February 22 to 25, 2015.
The hotel never collected or cleaned the room during the stay.
We left at 7 in the morning, every day, and returned at siesta time to rest for a while before embarking on the afternoon / night route.
One day we arrived at 3 p.m. and another at 4:15 p.m. Neither day had they collected or cleaned the room ...

Very kind waiters really never seen so much availability but in spite of myself it was a bad experience between the room with the air conditioning that didn't work, broken curtains, the broken shower door and for this it flooded the whole bathroom, lizards in the room horrible thing and staff at the entrance scorbutici and when you asked a question it seemed that they made fun of you. Too much superiority. Hotel overall very nice but some features described on the site do not match.

As the name suggests, the hotel is generally black. Black on the outside, the corridor walls black on the inside, the pool floor black.
The rooms are luckily white, with very well-kept bathroom. The floors are parquet and the air conditioning works great!
The service staff always seems to be friendly, you realize that probably not everyone there loves his work.
There is a keycard as a door key.

Approximately 2.6 km away is the Cornelia Metro Station, on foot you need about 30 minutes there. However, you can book a shuttle bus that goes there 3 times early at 8:30, 9:30 and 10:30 each. You have to book the bus the day before at the reception as it is only a small bus with 9 seats and accordingly the seats are all occupied.

1.7 km away is the Aurelia train station where regional trains stop for example to get to the airport.

Very close to the hotel is a large supermarket that sells just about everything, from basic furniture to foodstuffs to electronics. There is also a pharmacy in and next to it a Deichmann shoe store.

Under all pig!

Non-working internet, poor hygiene, poorly trained staff and excessive tourist tax prices. You can't find more here

Just never again!

There's a big problem with the pool policy, the hotel is short of staff so they have to put irregular opening hours for the pool because they cannot get a life guard. So the pool is closed when ever. Staff wasn't so polite and can definetly tell there's problems with the staff and managment. With public transport it takes quite time to the central, but with taxi it takes 10-15 minutes if they drive the shortcut. Wont be staying in this hotel anymore.
