Very expensive for a guabao (even by NYC standard). The buns they used for the "fried chicken coffin" was a bit stale, the flavor was otherwise decent. As for the bao, not sure if they were low on ingredients, but there was a pinch of peanut crumbles in the bao and almost nonexistent pickled vegetab...

Chinese buns (sort of). The food was pretty amazing. The only reason I rated this 3 instead of 4 stars is that I think the prices are too high and the ones I tried were a little too unhealthy for my brain to truly enjoy. The buns are the same as those used in some Peking duck dishes. Each bun is...

Cool spot and worth a visit. Small narrow restaurant but with nice vibe. Menu is pretty straight up and not complicated. I went with pork belly Boa and spicy fried chicken Boa. Both excellent but was expecting a bit more crisp to the pork belly. One beer to choose from. (Hard to get good pic as Boa...

The Baos are delicious and there aren't really any comparable places in the area. Note however that even though they may seem cheap at $3 a pop, you're going to need at least three to feel satisfied since they're small. Still worth it though

3.5 stars.

3.5 stars.
A bit expensive. $5 a piece for a single bao which depending on what you like can be hit or miss.
The chicken bao was nice and crunchy and had a sweet and at points tangy flavor. The dough is soft, airy, and moist. Loved it. The spicy version just has a siricha based sauce.

The pork ...

This is a must visit when you're in NYC. Eddie Haung definitely knows his food. We went at night and got the chicken (the pork belly one runs out quick so you have to get it early). It was so good we went back the next day to get the pork belly and was not disappointed. Both were very flavourful an...

Awesome place to stop by and grab some delicious baos. They stuff these bad boys with plenty of meat. I tried the Chairman bao, Birdhaus bao and the Spiceland bao with some friends. The Chairman was delicious as they stuff it with a braised all natural thick cut of pork belly. The Birdhaus has a nic...

Solid tasting and flavorful pork and chicken rice bowl though I had higher expectations of the menu coming in. The number of items menu is somewhat limited (good and bad thing at the same time) and the space is small and a little awkward. Come check out the wall of plastered stickers and graphics on...

Tiny place that serves a new take on Taiwanese "small dishes" (similar to tapas), typically served as street food and in night markets. Definitely get the Chairman Bao. You can't go wrong with pork belly and all the condiments make it super delicious with the perfect balance of sweet and savory. Sw...

Really good food for a fairly cheap price. You will end up eating at least 3 bao if you want a full meal but make sure to ask for the peanut sauce, it really enhances the flavors of the bao! Make sure to have a place to go to if you can't find a seat inside the place it's very small.

Yes!!! Love it, that chairman bao is delicious. Everything on this menu is delicious. I love coming here. I've been here after 3 and the rush is crazy. So it is later in the evening particularly on Fri and Saturday. But it's a quick thing. I've never spent more than 20-30 minutes here. Love and reco...

Being Chinese, I expected something a little different when I came here. The buns were delicious but not the best I ve ever had, and the inside was really squished. There s 2 places to sit inside so be prepared to take your baos to go.

One of my favorite stops when I am in NYC
The Chairman Bao & Fried Chicken Buns are addicting. The staff is super accommodating & friendly. The rice bowls are divine but not for anyone that doesn't like s bit of spice. Give it a try, I promise you'll be back.

Everything from the atmosphere and decor inside felt relaxed and casual. You could tell there was a lot of history on the walls. I spent a good 15 minutes just looking around at the walls.

The menu was simple quick and to the point. I was recommended the combo of Chairman Bao and Birdhaus Bao. Th...
