The jackal was studied in more detail by the research group of the Department of Biology at the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana in 2017, when it was part of the targeted research project "Spatial distribution, abundance, assessment of population trends and potential expansion of golden jackal (Canis aureus L.) in Slovenia". .
