One of the greatest, total experiences of Natural History in the world. So much to experience for all ages, and such incredible effort made to make you feel a part of the visit, from examples to touch and smell, right down to "shrinking" you to microscopic size! Plan a few visits around it.

Awesome place. A lot of different thematic exhibitions inside. Some kind of 3d theatre, bur the screen could be wider for better entertainment. You can touch a lot of things there. To visit all areas you will need at least 4-5 hours, no less.
Shop with different goods also available inside.
You could take great photos inside and reach a lot of interesting facts.

The finest field museum I have ever visited, the structure is excellently maintained and further, the use of sound in the exhibits is amazing for immersion, and the information is so dense it would take days to look over. Suzy remains a star, I got chills seeing them with my daughter the same as I got as a child myself.

I'm sure the museum is great, but Sue belongs in South Dakota. She should have never been purchased by the museum when the careful excavation and discovery was done by the Black Hills Institute.

The quality of the exhibits here are very good! They do have a lot of exhibits but most of them didn't really interest me. We did absolutely love the Egypt exhibit, the dinosaurs, and the traveling mummy exhibit. The 3D show "Museum Alive" was cute and very well made. The bathrooms were immaculately clean. What made me rate only three stars was how extremely expensive everything in the museum was and how quickly we got through the entire museum.

My family and I had a great time!! We learned so many things and had several laughs along the way. A special shout-out to customer service representative, Mark, who was very helpful and kind with my "two adult/two children" reciprocal membership. Thank you!!

Great museum. But the Hop To It event was a ripoff. $40 to be restricted to the great hall (no exhibitions) and pay an additional $8 per warm pint of Pseudosue. But still, dinosaurs and beer...

I'm not usually a fan of museums because all you do is look at old things that aren't that interesting, but this was so interactive and laid out in an appealing way that I truely enjoyed it! I went on a free day but I wouldn't mind going back even if I had to pay

Hands down the largest museum I've visited! Expect to spend 6 hours here easily. Every turn was a new adventure. I loved the setup and displays. Sue was my must see exhibit. If your in chicago this better be on your list of places to visit.

I love the field museum

I love the field museum
With the passion a dozen collapsing Carl Sagans into a field of Steven Hawking. Coming here is a pilgrimage, like the humble trilobites moving through primordial ooze to their rocky homes to hide from prey, come for the dinosaurs stay for the mass extinction and enjoy an existential crisis that may convince you to finally star recycling responsibly or maybe walk more than driving. What I learned most is dinosaurs make great fossils

Saw Sue the Tyrannosaurus Rex while I was here!!! There's a lot of history and science packed into this museum. I also saw a HUGE stone Aztec calendar. They have a lot of American Indian clothing and cultural items. I have to tell you though, for certain parts of the museum, it requires extra fees besides admission. These include exhibits like the Vikings (which is very informative and enlightening) and a China exhibit. Once you walk around enough it starts to get boring though.

Very complete museum. They have a large collection of permanent and temporary exhibitions. The exhibition of mummies is incredible. I would avoid the show at the cinema, it's like watching a documentary at home.

Enriching history, and artifacts. My whole body was inflammed after either the chicken sandwich from the Explorer cafe, or the poor air quality of the facility. So much mildew in the upper theater. You could hardly breathe at the top section. Caked up accumulations of dirt/dust on vents. Smelled musty, and of mothballs. My hands(swelling), and body (aching) calmed down about 20 minutes after leaving.

Took daughter when she was very small but she attended with her brother's who were much bigger. They really enjoyed it and even tho she was just a baby she seemed very interested in it.

I love museums. Every place I travel, I try to see at least one. The Field Museum is wonderful. Very educational. Lots of exhibits. We sadly didn't get to see everything, as this place is monstrous. You will need to wear good walking shoes and plan to spend entire day.

Recommended if you visit Chicago. This museum is pricy but is very large and has a lot to do. There were 4 exhibitions and a couple of 3D movies to watch. I saw the China exhibit (see photos). You get what you pay for, and there are various discounts to take advantage of. Some displays had buttons that didnt work, or showed videos made in 1989. A little updating could go a long way to make this place perfect. The one way entrance into some exhibits was a little confusing, but there are people all around who can give you directions and at the ticket booth they very clearly explain where you can and can't go depending on what exhibit ticket package you purchased. This is a great museum!

We have just visited the Museum (probably, the 4th time if not more) and as usual I love the expositions. But there are a few things I would like to point out:
I do believe that the hand-written (!)descriptions on the Animal Displays are overdue for replacement. Also, the names of the flourescent minerals in the special dark case are impossible to read (they probably supposed to be seen but it's a pale lemony color and is NOT visible). In regards to the 3D movies (we watched The Galapagos Islands this time) I would like to point out that the theory of evolution is being DRILLED into the brains of the movie-watchers! Does it have to be that way in our OPEN MINDED society? - No! That for sure shows the NARROW MINDED approach to explain the beauty and abundance of nature specimens at the islands. I hope someone will pay a much closer attention to the movie scripts in the future.
