One of the best natural history museums of the United States. Street-side parking near Adler's planetarium is available. Do not stop by the stairs if you have a stroller or a wheelchair you have to use another entrance for strollers and wheelchairs. Egyptian Chinese Tibetan history all is preserved with amazing displays. The dinosaur history portion was the best. Our kids loved animal exhibits. Museum staff is present with samples of fossils with them they explain it to kids and kids love it. They have very few elevators so if you have a stroller or wheelchair you will have to wait a lot to get in one elevator.

Took our 9mo on free admission day. We were willing to use the stairs with a stroller and the day was great, we got a lot done before she got cranky and she loved looking at all the animals and dinosaurs. If you aren't willing to take the stairs then you'll be waiting in line for a long time for the elevators. Worth the trip with the little one, had a great time.

Hige museum! Had a ton of fun with my family, and hope to bring my kids when they come along! Loved the staff and the sights. Mals are easy to read as well. All in all, it was an amazing experience, especially for my younger brothers, who've never been to Chicago before. Definitely a place to go for fun in Chicago, as the general admission isn't horrible. Keep it up Firld staff! -Cam

It's would take three full days to explore the entire museum. I particularly enjoyed the Native American and Egyptian exhibits. Take the time to stop and read the placards. You learn a lot.

It s a great place to visit. We started on he bottom and worked our way up. They have so much to do that we couldn t see much of the top floor before they closed. Will have to go back there. We missed out on Sue and other fun things.

Plan to spend a full day at the museum. It's worth it.
The cafeteria doesn't have too many options. One Veggie burger on the menu. Bring your own food. There are areas on the lower level where you can eat with the family.
All in all a good experience.

Was a fun day.. Lots to see and learn.. Was a bit disappointed that the price was high even when all I really wanted to see was sue the T Rex as I have followed her story. Unfortunately she was in the middle of a move. Sues story is a great example of how the good guy always gets screwed and the dishonest ones prevail. Look into it and decide for yourself. But the Trex is awesome. The staff are friendly enough .. Go to the gift shop with a half hour to spare as they don't care when its closing time they consider themselves to be the ones put out. The will push you out of the store.

This place is massive, plan your trip accordingly as you'll need at least 2 hours to go through all the exhibits if you'd like to read plaques, descriptions or interact with the multimedia displays. Getting there at the last minute before they cut off entrance is not worth it as you will only have around 50 minutes to Rush through the exhibits.

I have lived in Chicago for a few years now and just got a chance to go for the first time to the field. Way better than I expected! I was thinking it was just a dinosaur museum but it has so much more! They have a TON of native American stuff, a huge plants exhibit, a mummies exibit(need an extra ticket for it), and way more. I was only able to get through a fraction of what they had during my afternoon visit. Don't forget to check for Illinois resident free days especially during winter time.

I sent in a sample of a meteorite to get tested at one of their facilities, very unpfrofessional. I sent in my sample 7 months ago and have not heard anything back, I've called 10 times for the past 4 weeks and no one answers! And I can't leave a voice msg! What a scam!

We loved our first trip to The Field Museum. The only thing I d say is be prepared to spend at least 3 hrs in order to see enough to feel like you ve gotten your monies worth. It is expensive but it s worth it in my opinion. A fantastic museum loaded with cool displays and educational materials.

A fantastic experience. I love how the focus isn't just on displaying old stuff, but on education and bringing the past to life. The depth and degree of exhibits is amazing, and there is something here that'll facinate everyone. Only problem is there is too much stuff to all see in one visit, so I guess you'll have to come back more than once

A great natural history museum. Many different displays to help feed your fascination. My kids loved the Egyptian area with the various relics and mummy exhibits along with the the dinosaur area. This is a vast museum which you can spend most, if not all, of a day there. The famous T-Rex, Sue, is being assembled in a new area of the museum, but you can still see it along with other dinosaurs. Since we were visiting the city on vacation, we were able to take a cab to the museum, because I know the parking is limited and you have to pay to park.
