These guys would call my work every day, normally HR is able to keep them at bay, but one day they lied to HR and said they were a former friend of mine from a former employer. The name didn't sound familiar so I checked my LinkedIn profile and saw a recent view from someone at Zion Partners. So the following happened:
"Hello?"
Guy: "Yeah, Taylor, Erik Meitz here, how you doing?"
"Uhh yeah Hi, I'm sorry did you just lie to HR that you used to work at me at my previous employer?"
Guy: "I'm sorry?"
"You told HR you used to work with me?"
Guy: "Yeah, I told them that I used to work for the same company as you."
"Okay, well I'm looking at your LinkedIn profile right now and it says you work for Zion Partners, a recruitment agency, so can you please stop calling me?"
Guy: "What profile are you looking at?"
"The one on LinkedIn that shows you just looked at my profile 10 minutes ago."
Guy: "Yeah that's the wrong one."
"Okay, bye"
