A fairly small and unusually-shaped restaurant, but there's nothing like enjoying food while looking at the ocean's horizon. The menu isn't huge (which is good) and it's a little surprising that there isn't a seafood pasta, but the garlic loaf and rare steak are fantastic. The staff were attentive and friendly. A little pricey (to be expected) but well worth a visit (on a sunny day).

Have eaten here a few times now. My only couple of bits of criticism would be the oil in fryer seems old as wings and chips had a bad after taste and the brownie had no taste. Like none. And for $17 you think it would.

Absolutely rubbish. Cafe that thinks they are and can charge restaurant prices. Cook (no chef) has no idea how to cook a basic steak. Staff take offence and roll their eyes when you show them your steak is Blue when was supposed to be medium. Three visits, three fails. In for lunch at 11.40am, served at noon and undercooked meal arrives at 12.50.

A great dining experience for the Mother s Day lunch! Staff were prompt and friendly, food and cocktails are amazing in a beautiful location! Totally recommend!

Great view if the ocean, but not the best breakfast place.

Waited an hour for simple food on a Sunday brunch, people who ordered before us got served a long time before us too. Another coffee order took 20 mins too. The food is yummy but I'd probably go elsewhere after this experience. t has a great view.

We had a beautiful lunch. Food is always fantastic and the service is amazing.

Sensational location but bland expensive food and terrible service.
Took over an hour to get our desert after ordering despite telling them repeatedly. No apology or empathy.
Decided to leave and they eventually bought dessert out whilst we were at the counter paying the bill still wanted to charge us. Put our foot down.
Others found the food ok but my salad was very bland dressing had no flavour.
Had planned to book high tea for 10+ but no thanks won t be returning.

Really enjoyed a long lunch here. The sun was shining, food delicious and service great.

My favourite breakfast place. Delicious coffee and food, incredible beach view and friendly service with a smile. Great booking system also, as soon as you call, they have your details and text you with booking confirmation.

Fresh tasty food and great location, but long wait (over an hour for two mains) and they charged me $2 for using tap on my card without telling me beforehand (I would have used chip and pin otherwise).

Wanted to have brunch as a family. They gave me 2 reasons why I shouldn t eat there. 1 reason was that they had no breakfast and the other reason was there was no room. Maybe if they had good customer service I would come back but just because you are full doesn t mean you should treat the customer like garbage.

I love it here, relaxed vibe and a good enough menu to keep the locals coming back. Situated just meters from the sand. It's nice when it's fair weather or foul

Great location!! Perfect place for breakfast & coffee!

Food was delicious and good portion sizes, and the waitress was very lovely. The only downside was they forgot our order and we waited over an hour just for our entrees (which isn't great when you're paying $50 each for lunch). To their credit, when they realised (after we asked what was taking so long), they offered us complimentary beverages (any drink on the menu).

Very nice location. Dining by the water in the late afternoon doesn't get better or closer than this in cronulla. The windows are open, people are walking by, the surf is doing it's thing and your enjoying a drink of choice while waiting for your delicious food.

Always love visiting Zimzala. Wonderful views across the bay and ocean. Good food, polite and efficient service and reasonable prices.

Friendly staff and great breakfast or lunch. Haven t had the pleasure of dinner here. Perfect to book for a simple hightea with your best ladies. Enjoy stunning views at sunrise especially nice! Takeaway coffees available and they are the nicest most accommodating staff. Well done Zimzala!

Delightful meal, good value, nice wine and attentive staff.

Love sitting right on the beach in this seaside resturant. We cut to the chase and ordered a seafood platter for 2. Wasn't disappointed. I don't care what thing's cost if the service is smick and the food great, so can't comment on the value, but my wine was poured we we're treated wonderfully. (Thx Vennessa) I dropped a star cause it's not very intimate, but I knew that before going. Horse's for courses....

The food at Cronulla's Zimzala is good (in particular the breakfast) but to be honest not what I would call amazing. Portions sizes really could be a bit bigger, especially considering the prices. However, the views are beautiful and I guess that s what you pay for at Zimzala. It is not a very spacious place but has very nice seats right on the open window front for amazing ocean views. However, if not seated near the open window front it can get very noisy (due to people being close to you and everywhere around you) plus: it seems to be always busy here, especially on the weekends. Don't expect a lot of privacy or a peaceful atmosphere. Overall, the service is good, for example the waiters will always ensure your water glass is filled and they would check frequently if I need anything else.

Cronulla Zimzala shock me with their bad service, very rude!

The full story is like this. I took my whole family come to Sydney for school summer vacation from Chicago.

I used TripAdvisor find Zimzala with a nice sea-front view, since I have a just turn to 3 years old boy, I want to have a place sit inside but able to enjoy the view, specially during Sydney s winter time.

Noon, Wednesday, I and my wife and my mom with my 3 years old boy, walked into Zimzala. Very quickly I ordered sparkling water and a daily special 2 courses order, calamari and fish chip. That special cost $42, and if I order separately, that is 19+30=49. $7 difference. I explained to the waitress, please put this order into kitchen first, and whenever it ready please bring on the table, then my boy can start his lunch first. And, my wife and my mom will decide what they want to eat when she come back.

The waitress starts unhappy, keep asking what my wife and my mom will order, So I explained to her again, this $42 order just try let the boy start his lunch first, and my mom and my wife will make their mind quickly. The waitress not listen, keep saying special is $42 per person not to sharing, if I want to share, I should order these 2 courses separately. Then she took the knives and forks away from my boy, my wife and my mom. Only left one set for myself. The feelings turned down from here.

I thought maybe she confused, so I wait she come back and asking please bring the knives and forks back for other three people, and we will order at least two more full meals.

But she is not listen, keep saying not sharing for special orders, that s $42 per person. Then I start asking, this is my food, here is not a buffet, I think I can decide how to sharing my food with my family, although we will add at least two more full orders. The waitress become very unhappy and told me She will get the manager, but she agrees I can share food with my 3 years old boy, maybe ok she said.

The manager came, I explain again, still not working. I asked, do you think that s not right to taking away knife and fork before we make our final order? And she said, if you order more food, they will bring other three people knives and forks back.

That s rude! So, I stand up to leave. They asked me to pay $28, I already start the water, and right after I stand up, the calamari put on the table, but I never touch it yet. I know the calamari cost 19. I do not want to keep ruining the day, so I just paid what they asked and left. And drop the whole box untouched calamari in to the first trash can I can find outside of Zimzala.

Yes, how beautiful the city is! Why let a RUDE Zimzala to ruin the feelings, drop it into garbage as soon as I can.

Fabulous lunch. Food outstanding. Italian young waiter from Venice an absolute star. Didnt catch his name but made our experience very special.

Booked a table for 13 and was advised we had to have the set menu. Was not explained over the phone and was $65 a head and 15% surchage. You could only pick either 1 entree or 1 main or desert so only 2 meals.
To take a cake it was $5 per person to have a slice of cake which was pretty disappointing.
Staff was rude, service was slow & the owners wife was very very rude to us and 2 people left because of the way they were spoken to.
Platters were full or fruit & chips not worth $150 each.
Would never go back again after this appalling experience!!! Worst restaurant yet.

On arrival took time to find table for 2, hadn't booked. Service was terrific. From the oysters to the pavlova the food was excellent.
I eat well done steak and it is really difficult to get one that isn't burnt or dry. This piece of beef was delicious great place

Awesome location, great vibe from the moment you walk in. The big open windows overlooking the water are so pretty, blinds are adjusted by staff to create the ideal lighting for every time of day. We ordered a seafood platter for 2 for lunch. I was a little disappointed with how small it was compared to other restaurants half of it was fruit, salad and sauce. I would recommend the cocktails jugs!

Just had the misfortune of having lunch at Zimzala and what a disappointment.
The positives is the venue itself and the floor staff.
The negatives well where do I start, the owner Rude Ray dripping in unwarranted arrogant success who proudly bragged about how hard his pushing his poor miserable tired staff.
The food was well presented, but bland, tasteless and completely overly priced. In an effort to maximize profit over comfort expect to be packed in like sardines. There are so many better options around here.

Lovely location for lunch on a sunny Autumn day. Walked to the restaurant from the North Cronulla Surf Lifesaving Club, and along the foreshore pathway and then along South Cronulla Beach to get to the restaurant. It was well worth it and helped make the afternoon a little bit more special.

First time to seriously rate only 1 star place for some place on Google, and this star is for its good location and view.
I ordered coffee for taking away and waited up to 15mins, and we asked the manager if we could cancel cuz we cannt see any progress after that. The manager, by his saying, "refused refunds" with such bad tone and his finger pointing at us. I understand things would get slow during peak time, but is it the right way to treat your customer like this when you are in service industry?
Will not come back even if I may get thirsty to death next time.

Consistently good service and a well considered menu which is well executed. Amazing location. Can get very busy, but they seem to be able to handle it well.

Great food and great service, you can even do a bit of star spotting if you're a Sharks fan.

Beautiful location on Cronulla beach, staff were amazing, couldn't have been more accommodating or friendly. Quickly seated and served us, despite no booking and it being a busy day they even arranged a table on the promenade on request. The food was divine and again, delivered swiftly and professionally to the table on a very busyday. I can find almost nothing to criticize, the whole restaurant was clean and well appointed despite the lively crowd including the lovely bathrooms and I would absolutely recommend and plan to return very soon myself.

What a wonderful experience. We have visited the restaurant a few times now and tonight was by far the best. My partner and I where out celebrating her remission and had a wonderful night at the venue. We had the seafood platter for two and dessert. The platter was fresh and tasty recommend highly. Out waitress was fantastic so polite and friendly. Reservation 7:15 20/11/19 thank you for a wonderful night.

The food is delicious and the service is fantastic. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. The oysters were amazing and the view was just spectacular. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
