What an I credible piece of architecture, and an amazing history. Not a place to spend long but definitely worth a look, potter and a coffee

A real jewel in the crown...... brilliant that it's reopened.
Well worth a visit.
Done out lovely . Adds real character and history to Halifax town centre
Amazing great place that has been modernised but not lost any of its original character. Great shops and him bar
Lovely recent renovation, very pleasant place to sit (lots of seating).
A lovely place to visit, I'm sure it'll be even better once all the shops become occupied. Easily accessible to each level via the elevator. We will return in the summer.
Love the new piece hall. Enjoyable relaxable place. Kids love it.
Beautiful place but disappointing how many empty shops there were
Lovely atmosphere and lovely shops and cafes. A little pricey at Gin Lane, but worth it for the peaceful atmosphere :)
Needs more maps / signage to find shops and venues.
Very pleasant place to spend an afternoon probably unique building
Just beautiful. The book shop is my favourite place.
Most amazing place. We count ourselves lucky to have our vintage, antiques & collectables shop here.
Better in sunny weather, otherwise a miserable experience. Limited shops with many empty /vacant and boarded up units. Odd mix of shops means retail experience lacks any identity, and thereby no real reason to visit again after yhe 1st time. Wouldve been better to convert into apartments and a park in the centre
Great shops, food and drink. A great atmosphere and the recent upgrade is excellent
Could definately be improved and have more going off during the summer months.
Attended for the Chow Down food festival and absolutely loved the place
Beautifully renovated 18th Century textile exchange with some quirky shops and cafe's.
I've lived in barnsley 33 years but I was born in Halifax and visit every weekend to see my family I've always thought piece hall is a beautiful building and what they have done with it is the best thing ever hopefully it will put Halifax on the map
Very disappointed with the opening day. Most of the shops not open, poor on entertainment, I don't see anything there will attract the shoppers. Having said that I'm pleased to see the place refurbished and kept well for future generations..
nice place. just opened so most shops empty. looking forward to public events
Having another good day at the piece hall , breakfast at blondels
and gin at the gin lane .Bought a beautiful glass owl at leon benjimans and had a good look around the shops
Attended the CalderLand performance and it was amazing. Lovely venue for outdoor events with bars, ice cream shop , sweet shop and quirky independent shops.
Quaint individual shops. Nice restaurants will be lovely area with markets. Could be a great.music venue
Really good rennovation loved the market space interesting variety of shops
I love it here lots of beautiful independent shops in a fantastic location plus lots of choices to eat and drink.
Recently reopened to the public after renovations. The historical PIece Hall was, once upon a time, a hub of activity and trade... I'm referring to the Industrial Revolution period. These days it's many shops are home to a variety of shop traders. It is hoped that it will return to its busy heyday. The Piece Hall had it's Yorkshire stone cobbled removed and now feels slightly European with its smooth stone flooring and water feature. The venue has been used on numerous occasions as a film location. Not least, for Brassed Off starring a young Ewan McGregor and the late Pete Postlethwaite.
Great place full of independent shops, often events on such as Xmas markets and gigs.
Looks really great after the renovation. What an amazing building
Good modernisation of old hall with lots of small independent shops and at least one good tearoom/bar which had nice chocolate cake and hot chocolate.
Visited the Piece Hall in Halifax for the first time in over ten years . We went for the Chow down . The whole facade and interior of Piece Hall has improved massively . Chow down was a great afternoon as well and we will be visiting again next Bank holiday .
Really well redeveloped. Interesting range of shops
Looks really nice lit up at night and the new bars encourage people to attend on an evening. Nice little shops and bars
Fantastic place with an amazing array of individual shops, cafes and bars. A theatre, library and cinema all attached. Fab!!!
A great place to visit come rain or shine, Day or night.
Much livelier since the refurbishment. Nice place to visit, cool bars and good cafes.
Fun open space for children with water fountains, plus good food and drink
My first visit to Piece Hall and my first visit in 50 years to Halifax. The work done to bring back Piece Hall to its former glory has really worked, it is a very interesting place to visit with some lovely shops and very pleasant places to eat and drink coffee.
It should be a good place to go during the summer particularly if you have visitors from overseas or friends/relatives who might not have been to Yorkshire.
A must visit lots of little retailers, bars and an escape room lots more to discover. Normally something going on in the centre as well. Needs baby changer in mens disable d toilets, the ladies has one why not the men's???
Nice cafes. More events should be held here on a daily basis. Open market, various charities, various Calderdale groups having half or a full day use of the piece Hall.
One day per month when people can bring unwanted items and other people can take them away free and the council take the rest to a charity or the tip at the end of the day.
Should have a suggestion box so people can pop in ideas and also a prominent phone number where people could ring with ideas
Good disabled facilities within the area but not much room inside shops for wheelchairs friendly staff in most shops with local products
I did not visit here or the blue frog the person who did stole my phone when I was visiting friends in Halifax is there any way that you could block this phone please
Just took my little one today and she loves just running around the place. It has a nice gin bar and the local shops are amazing and amazingly friendly. They are always doing events at the piece hall loved the food festival 2 weeks ago it was amazing.
Changed a lot since my last time there, nevertheless, a wonderful place to visit and shop.
A nice central location for the town. Being there at the holidays there could have been a bit more associated with Christmas. There are some quaint 'little' shops on the different levels. The Wine and coffee place has nice drink choices and the staff were great. Over at the Trading Post the food was good with a nice atmosphere. Overall, it's a spacious centre court that gives this town a nice location to gather. Being attached to the library was nice as well.
I love this place, and great to see the outside space thriving with customers in the warm sunshine. Off the Wall a great visit for local and vintage quirky art. Celebrate the beauty of this space. Mx
Sorry not for me nothing there I can't see the attraction it's wasted space
Great place but needs a resturant and nice bars if it's to succeed.
Beautiful place. Some great little shops, cafes and bars. Lovely atmosphere to just sit.
Lovely shops, very atmospheric. Would love to attend a concert here. Water feature attracted old and young
This unique structure is a must to visit if you are near Halifax. It has a feel unlike anywhere else.
Went with my daughter and partner over the weekend. Some good shops to visit. No parking on site but there is parking available at Eureka car park opposite within walking distance. There is other areas to park within walking distance too. Good place to visit. Keep an eye on for Xmas fair. Well recommended place to visit.
It's a beautiful space for events or just to kill some time. Loads of nice little shops n that. I'll be back.
Coming from the South as I do I have previously held a very hazy concept of Halifax. I have been all over the North and its fine cities, and also Wakefield, and find Halifax a curiously and unfortunately overlooked delight. The sheer gravity of the Piece Hall when you enter it bites into the back of your brain and the sense of the place being a major gathering point, the historical shouts and screams, the singing and the delights of the last 200 years somehow resound within. Far from a withering monument, the modern shops and boutiques within make it a must see and well worth the journey.
Being disable driver l found lots of parking close by plus many normal parking bays. The event was very entertaining and leaning and. Great umphar collage type band entertaining. And drew large groups. Food was available and have to say the hamburgers we the best had for long long time. Cooled it down withe ice cream hugheo say the least my wife had double scoop strawberry in sugar cornet while l spoilt my self with something simular. Give both 100%.
All in all a great day out.
The piece Hall is an excellent attraction for Halifax and it has many things to offer!
Went shopping to Halifax so we went to piece hall what a beautiful place to visit
Underutilised but still nice to see it being used at all
Love the bookshop,Bookcorner. Brought visitors from Lancashire, they love the new PieceHall
A great place to visit and have a lovely meal at the Trading Rooms.
Lovely little independent shops, great atmosphere and dog friendly
I was expecting more shops. But the board game shop was perfect! The gallery is interesting as well, you can learn about the history of the building.
Nice renovations but not quite in keeping with what was there before from what I remember.
Excellent display of artworks, especially Hockney. Also sculpture and books. Well worth a visit.
Lovely building with a great history now used for small artisan shops and eateries.
Weather was atrocious but the walkways are covered so it was quite pleasant to walk around. A fantastic variety of small shops and very friendly people. Will definitely go again.
Its the history of the place thats appealing give it a go infact rent a unit get it flowimg again No TAkEAWAYS THO we have enough
Fantastic building and lovely job on the refurb. Just a bit of a shame so many of the units are empty but still enough shops of interest to kill an hour or so.
A great place for Halifax.I hope the events keep coming.
The gigs were amazing went to all 3 days Friday, Saturday and Sunday
