Fantastic restoration of a eighteenth century Georgian masterpiece. Grade 1 listed using neo-classical (Roman / Italian) design now houses shops and restaurants. We had lunch there and it was wonderful to step out into this large and I believe sole remaining, example of the woollen industry trading place. Along with the other old town centre buildings ( market hall, town hall etc) and the churches Halifax gives the visitor a great day out.

Loved this beautiful updated old trading hall. Perfect mix of history and modern shopping. Love all the independent shops, providing a quirky alternative to the high street. We spent an afternoon here and went in almost every shop. Would reccomend checking out the chocolate shop, the Yorkshire soap company and allow plenty of time for the antiques shop. This would be a great place to do Christmas shopping, or come for a gift for someone special.

We've been coming to the piece all on and off for years and it's always been a bit underwhelming, it always felt like it could have more variety and be more of a venue than it actually was.

This was the first visit to look round of ye shops after a few years and they had done all the refurbishments and I can happily say it's finally met it's potential, some lovely independent shops and businesses in a great setting. You can kill a few hours there easily.

Such a cool place with lots of cute little shops with all kind of cool stuff. As it is all under cover, it is a great place to stroll around in bad weather. There are also elevators available so there is no problem to get to higher floors with a pram or a wheelchair. When you get tired, just pop in one of cozy little cafes in the building. It is absolutely worth visiting!

An amazing experience with great exhibitions and easy access to everyone. The replica of the beyeux tapestry was great and there were plaques explaining everything. There was even history of the area. It was a great fun day out. And I would defiantly recommend it to a friend.

Really a fabulous restoration done on this great 250 year old building and it did the BBC antiques road show proud with a fantastic turn out by the local folk and a hot sunny day, what else could you want!!!

This beautifully restored 18th century cloth market is well worth a visit. Lots of cafes, galleries and small independent shops surround the impressive square. It's a five minute walk from the rail station.

Good place to meet people outside. Nice cafe culture, plus gin lane which serves a very good selection of gins. The shops are varied and sell a wide selection of things, good for Xmas presents. Overall an excellent place to visit

Visited on a Saturday...would have thought on its first weekend open they might have put on a craft market or food market in the square, to attract visitors...the majority of units were empty, only a very small number of shops actually trading...definitely not enough bars and cafes to choose from...absolutely no atmosphere...very disappointing...hope the powers that be step up, or this is going to be a dismal failure.

Much improved after the refurb. Not as many retail units. Loadsa bars, cafes and eateries. Courtyard is attractive. New entrance draws you in. Collonade level seems a little cut off from the rest of the place. So if you do visit, go round all the levels, you'll discover some neat shops.

Wow, what can I say. Christmas market was on in the centre. Lots of small shops on two levels. Alot of history surrounds the Piece Hall. Carousel and a Brass band playing in the square. First time visit will be back next year.

If you're looking for an unusual or quirky present for someone, this is probably the best place to go. There are a few hundred independent small shops located over two floors selling a large variety of items you probably won't find anywhere else.

The building is set around a large courtyard, designed like an Italian piazza, with different activities taking place throughout the year. It has recently been redeveloped and opened again to the public, with a few new additions to the original building, but still in keeping with the design.

Really beautiful place and it is so nice to see it renovated. There are lots of nice artisan shops, a great soap shop, gift places etc and I hope lots more businesses come too as the place is huge. I am in a wheelchair so appreciate they have put in lifts so I can access all floors. However, getting into some of the shops is impossible as either there is a step up or the shop displays are placed with out sufficient width for my chair. So a little fustraiting to see interesting things through the window that I will never be able to buy! It's obviously a listed building so I am unsure what can be done if anything to improve access, but just be aware!

No other town or city in the north has anything comparable to the Piece Hall. Integrating it with the new Library, Square Chapel and Industrial Museum was inspired and really well done. All involved in the design, planning and opening should be very proud. Halifax and Calderdale's jewel in the crown for years to come.

A renovated masterpiece with the stark Northern look so perfect to the turn of Halifax. Shop variety is good but they are all small businesses so don't expect better known brands. A lovely visual experience with an amazing water feature!

Went during the day on a Monday. A lot of the shops where closed. The food places didn't offer much either. It may be better coming back at an evening when or when more is open to fully experience it.

We love visiting the piece hall. It's been a well thought out refurbishment. It needs more incentive to bring other shops, cafes or galleries in to make the space work better , it's in danger of just becoming a cut through again.

I loved this place. Amazing history. It was very nice to understand and see the yester years and how Halifax came into existence. The museum is really nice. I especially liked the small shops in the periphery and the excellent outdoor sitting that some of the restaurants offered. Must visit if you are in Halifax. It's quite close to the station.

A good job done. The ground floor looked bigger now! Really hope it's all a great success, and folk will attend the future venues. Also hope that that the shop rents are reasonable, I would hate to see the piece hall die a death after all the work and money that has been put into the project.

Beautiful grade listed building. Excellent opportunity if you like to experience some history and see a magnificent building from years gone. Place is popular with tourists and also has coffee shops and even a barbers.
