I have been a member at this Y since 2005. Although some of the building is quite old, the wing with machines is nice and new. Staff and instructors are knowledgeable and friendly. One nice perk is your membership is good at any Y around the country... great when you are traveling
Friendly staff, good all around equipment choices, kinda goofy layout, pool is kinda small but they support the USCG and make working out easy and convenient for us.
Decent facility and equipment. Poor gym etiquette from most members (leaving all the weights out constantly & not wiping down sweat after using anything). DONT pay for ANYthing in cash there. I paid at the front desk and didn't get a receipt (my fault). I figured since I see the same people at the front everyday, they might have remembered. Nope. Then made me pay again. **My question is, at the end of the month cash register, wouldn't you wonder where the extra $65 came from?**
My son participated in their youth basketball and it was a terrible experience. The floors are always wet and unkept. Several kids wer injured slipping and falling on the wet floors. The officiating was of the no blood no foul brand of calling a game. The games I went to looked like a street fight where a basketball game broke out. If you love your child or even just like never them participate in Y sports programs
The staff, the camp director, front desk all awesome people and a good place to get your exercise on.

I volunteer at Ymca many states. The Y dose good things for community. Lots of programs.
Great facilities and convenient location in downtown
This Y is very nice. Staff is friendly and helpful. Workout equipment is older but usable. The locker room is large with a hot tub, and steam room. Great place to relax after workout.

This is the saddest excuse for a Ymca I've ever seen. I'm from Chattanooga and the Ymcas there are beautiful well kept and have indoor outdoor pools of Olympic size. Thus place is a ghetto run down ugly place with ugly people. It never fails to shock me how ghetto Corpus is and how people don't even realize it. I could never bring myself to pay full price for this place considering what the others are like. And it's sad it's a Christian organization and pays no taxes it should be emaculaute but just like everything else in corpus it's probally corrupt and dirty from the top down. This town should be leveled and rebuilt its awful.
I once Believed that this Place was supposed to be a fun loving and safe place for my children and that the coaches and Staff had a passion for those children with disabilities; My child who has Autism went there for the Summer Program and Was taunted, Bullied, by children and coaches who seemed to have poor training in caring for the Children. I decided it was the worst decision I have made thus Far. Very dissatisfied with the Program.

Confusing layout. Everything seems a little dirty, maybe it's just the old building. Get ready to memorize a bunch of codes for access throughout the facility. And there's hot tubs in the men's locker room but not in the women's? What the hell. I came here with my boyfriend to try it out for the day and even if I could have gotten over the somewhat dirty very confusing layout, I was lied to by the front desk. When my boyfriend told me he was going to get in the hot tub for 15-20 minutes I thought he was joking, so I called the office and asked if they had any hot tubs. I believe Carla answered and she denied that they existed. My boyfriend sent me a picture to prove it. They recently added a wing, why wouldn't they add a hot tub to the women's locker room to make things fair? Worst gym I-- WE have ever been to.

I loved Socorro as an instructor she s very uplifting and a breath of fresh air. I came to visit my mother from Austin and accompanied her to the water aerobics class and I loved it!
This place makes it impossible cancel memberships. I signed up, and canceled within 10 days with a written cancelation form, and they continued billing me for the next 3 months. I went to the location in person 4 times requesting a manager and was constantly told nobody was available and to leave a written message. Each time they claimed they didn't have my messages. I called an additional 5 times during a 2 week span and again was never able to be put in touch with a manager. I finally disputed the charges on my bank account, and still wasn't able to get refunded because they fought my bank. The entire time, I've never received a single call back from the YMCA to discuss the issue.
Son attended summer program and I was certainly disappointed in how staff handles bullying! Walked in during the middle of the day and kids were everywhere while staff stood around talking. One little girl in a locker area by herself. Staff unaware until I walked in.I believe anything is possible these days.. I believe they're taking in more children than they can certainly handle with staff that is inadequate to care and watch for children. Must less able to handle bullying situations. I guess a child speaking up doesn't help either. Several staff were addressed. Love my kid too much to do this again. Heaven help us in a search for a safe,respectable place for our kiddos.(reading other reviews, I guess the gym is outta question also)

I was a member for a few months. I canceled because the equipment was out dated and they did not have a women's section. Overall it's a decent gym.
YMCA has upgraded the facility, its grate to workout there.
If I could give 0 stars I would. I moved to Houston in December 2018 and cancelled my membership then. Yet they have still charged me every single month and I have called countless times, visited three times (again because I don't live there) to see if in person it could get resolved. Everytime I go I'm told, "okay we'll get it fixed".... yet its may and I'm still getting charged. Everytime I call I get someone who is rude with attitude and doesn't want me to speak to the manager there and says they will write my number and leave it at their desk and yet I haven't gotten not ONE SINGLE call back. I'm beyond upset at the disorganization this ymca has. I've been a YMCA member in many since I was 8 years old I love them but this YMCA has to be one of he worst.
Being visually impaired/blind the front desk guy (fernando) was not very helpful. Seemed as if I was a bother to him.
Met somebody as I was lost on the 3rd floor and he helped me and guided me to where I needed to go.
They should offer a tour of the facility to all new members. How else are we supposed to know where we can or can not go.
Very big place and great workout equipment as far as o could tell.
The locker room has a totally blind attendant so that felt great to know if he can figure out this giant place so can I.
They are on the midst of a remodel so some places are hard to navigate through.
Will give this a try.

The guy only does his job when he feels like it. I have heard him show around 2 female new members. Never offered yo show me around. Also the boss lady of the front called somebody to call me and let me know that my bus was there. If she could do it he could.
He knows me since we have had many communications in the tine I gave been going and yet did not try his best to let me kbownmy bus was waiting. Even though it is my responsibility. But a kind guesture would be better then nothing. Guess since I'm not a female he does not do his job. Not great customer service from him.
