Reviews on yelp are not accurate to what the customers post for reviews. Yelp preferentialy removes reviews to increase the rating of companies or they hide negative reviews to hide the reality of customer experiences or feed back on a company

It s very shady and they just want to get advertisement dollars at any cost. Even if it means helping clean up reviews

Hello. I'm a new business owner trying to get established and developed. I created a yelp business page because I have happy client's and would love to build trust with new prospects. A day after I created my brand new yelp business page I received a phone call from a yelp rep Rusty Wolford. He was manipulative and pushy for me to purchase yelp ads. He made it seem like I would fail without purchasing their ads and my yelp business account wouldn't excel. I declined and told him I would like to try and start up my business on my own for a couple of months. I reassured him If I wasn't successful at doing so I will contact yelp for there help. The next day I had over 10 clients write reviews on yelp for my business and I was really excited. I checked back a week later and was shocked. Yelp won't allow any of them to be posted. Not one! I get they have an algorism that looks over all reviews and only posts the WORTHY ones from yelp members that are more established on their site. I get it. But to not allow one single review on my business page out of 10 is corrupt and not right. I called yelp and have been trying to get ahold of the same rep that is in charge of my page but he's not compliant. I've been leaving messages as well but he won't return my calls. Yelp is making it impossible for me to grow my business on my own. There completely trying to benefit off new business owners to make money. Extremely greedy and not right!

They removed all the reviews customers had posted on my small business. Very disappointing and frustrating especially when these reviews were non biased and genuine reviews.
I even subscribed to their ads but still same problem. I'll definitely stop investing in their ads platform.

Tara was very knowledgeable and detail-oriented in our living trust and amending our pre-nuptial agreement. The only issue we had was the amount it cost for amending a small part of our pre-nuptial. We appreciated Tara giving us a break in the pricing of the living trust; however we must have misunderstood about her fees for the pre-nuptial.

Yes- I agree the site seems like a con. Misleading business practices for sure. Use Google instead. Yelp is not an accurate gauge of the quality of a business, it's just a gauge of the foolishness of people..

Yelp called me to sign up with advertising through them, and assured that I could not spend more than $15 a day. They then said that my automatic monthly budget could be up to an average of $15 a day, which is around $500, but assured me that if I didn't get enough clicks to spend the entire budget, that they'd refund the rest of the budget.

Turns out, no matter how many ad clicks I was going to get, they planned on using the entire $500. So, I got 7 clicks the first month. I thought that that would mean a MAX of $105. Nope. Divide 500 by 7... that's how much the cost per click was. Not a calculated cost per click to get me views... just however much Yelp needed to spend per click to use up my entire budget.

Yelp is a just a big con-artist company. BUSINESS OWNERS: NEVER PAY YELP FOR ADVERTISING. NEVER PAY YELP ANYTHING.

A scam of a service. Do not list you business on yelp if possible. They have the sales people harass you. I have had 4-6 calls in one day from them. Countless emails. They need to start working for the client and not themselves

This is a review for the Yelp Elite program, specifically my experience with my first Yelp Elite event in San Francisco's Chinatown.

Confession: I did the same walk from Dragon's gate to China Live a month earlier, and the experience was less than desirable. I had written China Live off.

I am blown away by my first Elite Event. I did not expect to meet so many amazing people, who all share a love for food and elegant experiences. How many times (outside of a rare industry event) can I claim to have met a winemaker, a filmmaker, a startup CEO who is about to get funded, a PR manager who loves culinary experiences, and so many more amazing people. There's something special about Yelp Elites.

As I arrived and checked-in, I had no idea what to expect. I was told no two experiences are the same. Great, I like surprises.

The walking tour was short but had just the right sampling. I liked the history of the Gate and Chinatown, and the serendipitous Banksy mural, that I may have passed hundreds of times, without realizing it existed.

At China Live, while I was famished and a part of me wanted to get to the food already, I appreciated the dim sum class, and how outclassed I was when I saw some of the Elites make beautiful dim sums. Thank you China Live for the lesson. I now such a little less at making working hands and pan-fried dim sums.

After some refreshing, clean and tasty Rose, I was ready to attack the 3-course affair.

First came the apps. My favorite was the lettuce wraps that are a favorite of owner, George Chen, betelnut minced chicken & lettuce cup. The lettuce added a refreshing layer that cleans your palette, while the minced chicken infused with peanuts was a perfect compliment.

XLB was just the dish to realize how clumsy I can be when trying to scoop out a dim sum oozing with consomme. I finally figured how to eat it right, with a ginger vinegar spoon. Delicious.

Chrysanthemum ten ingredient salad wasn't shabby but can be forgiven for being outclassed by such flavorful appetizers.

Some good conversation later, and some good-natured ribbing from the next table as they raised a toast to the best table, we were ready for the mains. First up was kung pao chicken which was truly a firecracker. While your palette was on fire, there was respite with the excellent Shanghai Chow main, fat noodles, stir-fried with a light sprinkling of seasonal vegetables. I paired it with the hot sauce, a mix of peppers and bean, and the result was umami. Completing the mains were blistered green beans with those delicious pickled radishes. Is it too early to think I am hungry and salivating for more?

After some more great conversation about food, some more food, international food, travel for food, pizza and TV finales that did not disappoint, came a visual pastiche of desserts that can bring out the gourmand in fellow gourmets. Luckily, Tina decided to divide the assortment and prevent a food fight. Miniature tiramisu-ish, black sesame macaroonish, raspberry something, matcha black tea something else, by then I had forgiven my previous misadventure at China Live, and had become a fan.

Thank you Yelp and Elites for making my first experience a delight. I cannot wait to join the next playing-hooky-from-work adventure. You guys are awesome!

P.S: Ben, you are a great host and an even better person.
Truly a pleasure meeting a kindred spirit, who enjoys pizza and Europe as much as I do.

YELP! What a Sad Joke of a platform! Reported a malicious review that s very apparent that it s a malicious review, and still they kept it on. Then on top of that 20, yes I Repeat 20 reviews of real honest people that reviewed never even showed up on the site, but they have the audacity to keep calling me to advertise with them. Seems sketchy and unfair. Yelp YOU REALLY REALLY ARE HORRIBLE AT WHAT YOU DO.

I am a new user and have just created a page for my business. I constantly get annoying calls. When I asked to tell me how to manage the page, they interrupted me and again and again they offered to buy an advertising package.

Would give them a negative but it s not acceptable. Horrible company!!! Rude, money grabbing and manipulative!! Took money out of my account with no reason and won t return it!! Now they replace any 5 star reviews that come in with 1 star reviews to manipulate me into advertising with them again. Don t call from yelp or deal with them in any way!!!

STAY AWAY FROM Yelp!!

Has anyone out there ever opened a Yelp account for a small business?

I opened a Yelp account last month (claiming my business page) and I just got charged over $400.00 FOR NOTHING!

Haven t logged in since I claimed my page . I thought it would be good to have my company on their platform.

I had no idea they would charge me over 400.00. So I look at the account and it shows they charged me for each person that clicked on my business. 12 clicks - $33.61 per click!!!!!

They say, sorry, we can t do anything about it!

Crazy, stay away from Yelp!! #smallbusiness #mycompany

If you support small business, never use Yelp for any reason. They re bullies who try to strong arm struggling small businesses into paying for services they can t afford. And if you don t pay them, they suppress your 4 and 5 star reviews so that your overall rating plunges. I own a business with ALL high reviews except for 1 that was written by someone who has never even set foot in the building. And that is literally the ONLY review yelp uses to indicate we are a 1 star business. It s extortion. Yelp you should be ashamed of what you re making honest hard working small business owner go through. And yes I m reviewing you on someone else s platform so that you can t silence this through your automated algorithms .
