Beautifully decorated upscale dim sum place in London. The dim sum was so perfectly made and the skin of the various dishes were executed beautifully. The service was attentive but not overbearing and the tea had a great aroma and each time they refilled the pot, they made sure no excess tea leaves were left so you would not get any stragglers when you drink it. Definitely a must try if in the London area.

Yautcha ruined our meal by serving my vegetarian girlfriend (and myself) two meat dishes.

After we spotted this (after we'd eaten half of one dumpling) the server was on the defensive. We weren't satisfied with the lacklustre apology.

This could have been a serious issue if we had allergies - we weren't asked at the start of the meal.

I had an Apple Blackberry choux for dessert and it was amazing. Our overall stay there was very nice and relaxing. It was a new and exciting experience for me and my friend who is a big fan of the Chinese culture and always brings me to places like this.

Some of the best dim sum outside Asia. Excellent teas, prepared perfectly! The restaurant was quite busy with mostly young hip people. Atmosphere is similar to a club, which was fine for us.

We chose many of the signature dishes. They're marked on the menu itself so you can't miss it and you won't do anything wrong by choosing them.

Really uncomfortable tables. There's no place for the knees..

Overall we enjoyed

Dim sum here is a treat! The menu uses luxurious ingredients, and the dim sum themselves are slightly different from the run of the mill, so great for a special occasion. Their cocktail bar does not disappoint.

If you like Ping Pong's modern style of dim sum, and you're looking for something more upscale, then Yauatcha fits the bill perfectly.

I absolutely love this place!

I absolutely love this place!
If you're stuck on what to order, my favs are: edimame & truffle dumpling; wagyu beef puff; sticky rice in Lotus leaf; softshell crab; shrimp & soybean chueng fun... and there's one with Taro that I can't remember the name of.
If you like dim sum and want something a bit different, I cannot recommend Yauatcha enough!

My friend and I visited Yauatcha last week, and never have we ever been more disappointed by any restaurant as we were by this. It was a sheer waste of money. Don't get us wrong, we enjoy fine dining, and are willing and able to pay for a five star restaurant but this was just a waste of time and money. The dishes were overrated and not worth their price at all. Not one thing can we ordered was up to a satisfactory standard, let alone delectable, specially the crispy squid, which at one point became un-edible. Bad experience, wouldn't recommend anyone to go there.

I have eaten at Hakasaan, Yauatcha, HKK many a times and always enjoyed the food and the service - today it was a totally different experience - the tables were dirty, the quality of the food inconsistent in quality, service beyond disappointing - what happened?

The food here is without doubt incredible. However unfortunately for you I couldn't give a monkeys about it. Cos when I'm here there is only thing that I'm here for. And that is the cakes. And even then there's only one cake I'm there for and that is the Raspberry Delice.

The first time I put this in my mouth it must be like when evangelicals have their "born again" moment. I wanted to get down on my knees and weep. But it's a very confusing experience cos with the next mouthful I had to stop myself from acting inappropriately in a public place. I very much wished I was alone.

You catch my drift I'm sure.

The toilets are a bit dark and mad (Google the Chinese symbol for male and female before hand to avoid embarrassment) oh and the staff have a slight tendency to verge towards the ridiculous with the exception of the greeter who I've always found charming.

wow!!

wow!!
it was amazing place to eat a Chinese dinner
and the price was fair enough!
im sure come back for this restaurant

I've been coming here on and off since it opened. Our most recent visit was to celebrate my sisters engagement and as ever it was fantastic. We took up the Open Table offer for three courses and a cocktail and they served far too much food (but we managed to eat it all eventually). My favourite items are still the venison puffs....just soo good.

We really wanted to like Yauatcha, but sadly, so many things just missed the mark. We noticed quite early on that a number of dishes were missing seasoning and were unusually bland. Having said that, the Har Gau, the patisserie counter and the service were good.

I m not sure if we got a little unlucky on the day, but seems a number of simple mistakes made for a rather unsatisfying meal.

Food was fabulous, we had a selection of dim sum. The atmosphere was a bit of a let down. The choice of music was entirely unsuitable, too loud and it was difficult to talk to my company even when sat across the tiny table, couldn't hear what the waiter was asking (n.b. I don't have hearing issues:)). I believe it i important to have nice background music at the restaurant but not such that makes you want to leave as soon as you've had your meal. May be it's there way to turn tables faster, I don't know... Service was great.

Okay, this review may not go down well with some, but it's my honest opinion. Feel free to disagree. Having been to places like Yauatcha and Hakkasan, I'm pretty much firmly decided that I don't like these "high-end" canto/dim sum places.

The food is good, but overpriced. If you want an authentic dim sum experience for a reasonable price, please go to China town. If you like the pretentious surroundings, eating in the dark with (from my experience here) poor service and like paying too much for your food, come here.

More on the service: the serving staff here (who were all European) just seem dis-interested. They bring over the food, mumble some description of it that is not comprehensible, and then drop the plate on your table. That's not good customer service for the price you're paying. We had to wait over 15 minutes for a pot of tea. Our server spoke barely understandable English. When paying for our bill, the server took my card and handed it back to me without so much of a thank you or acknowledgement, as if he was somehow doing us a favour by taking our payment - I don't expect much but I do expect basic manners.

Places like this serve a particular market, understand. I think that's fine, each to their own, but your offering comes as a package: for the high price you expect excellent food and good service. I'm afraid, on my last visit here, I received neither.

There is nothing to not like here. Great ambience, sensational cocktails, decent portions of food (if one orders the signature set menu) considering the price one pays, desserts to die for and extremely courteous staff characterise this place. The only thorn in the flesh was the ridiculously long time they took to get our desserts - we waited for more than 30 minutes. But to be fair when they did get us our chocolate-brownie-mouse-cake type dish, they also wrote a birthday message for my wife on the serving board, so that reduced the pain by a bit. The next time I feel rich I will definitely revisit Yauatcha.

As it is famous for London Chinatown, it is one of the places that I visited. It does not seem to disappoint me with its tasteful interiors and cuisine because it is a Michelin-star restaurant. The price is not cheap.

Lovely food and good service, its not cheap but then the food is of a high standard. If you are not sure what to order then you can't go wrong with one of the tasting menus as they are awesome.

I was so excited to try this dim sum spot recommended to us. I made a reservation and asked for a quieter table. We arrived promptly only to be sat in the middle of two tables that were both six inches from ours. I could hardly get to my seat. It was also so loud I couldn t hear my dining companion or the waiter. We politely asked to be moved to a quieter space and were taken upstairs to another two top that was spaced even closer to our neighbors. What a disappointment especially when there were plenty of open, more private tables available.

This restaurant needs to be informed that when someone asks to be moved, it s because they re dissatisfied with their table, and it s common practice to take them to a more desirable location, especially since they made a reservation and asked for that specifically.

The restaurant was also very hot, unnecessarily so. The dumplings were just average, I ve had much better. However, the standouts were their venison and waygu puffs and spicy noodles, which were wonderful.

Nice surroundings, truly excellent food and the cocktails are gorgeous! If I had to criticise I'd say that it was a bit noisy for easy conversation but that's a very minor niggle given how great everything else was.

Another restaurant that seems to be trading off the branding and publicity and losing track of actually serving good quality food. Dim sum was decent but expensive. The lamb in the lamb hotpot was raw (we only realised that when we couldn't chew through the meat...). Most unforgivable for a Chinese restaurant, the jasmine rice came out overcooked and crispy (twice!). Good for the restaurant to give us money off but dudes, just get it right the first time! Spoiled the whole meal really....

Best place we ate while in London, sad that we only discovered this on the last night. Barrafina is one of a kind, don't let the wait deter you. The service, ambiance and the food - all are worth waiting for. The seafood is ridiculously fresh, we tried these gigantic prawns grilled just a bit with sea salt & olive oil - literally heaven in your mouth. Definitely worth a visit if you are in London.

Menus were via QR code (wifi provided). We had the mushroom based dishes which were tasty but small portions. Sad that the dumplings came late and the teas are described eloquently but taste so ordinary...

Decadent dining done in style. Very limited gluten free options but what was available to me was divine...seabass with chilli and garlic beautifully cooked and perfectly delicious. Great cocktails too. I watched with envy (but not too much as my foid was still divine), as my friend ate an array of stunning dim sum and don't even get me started on the mesmirising patisserie options (no really!!) which can be bought to take away if you aren't looking for a meal. I don't need to be able to eat them to be certain that anyone would be impressed if you turn up with something sweet from here. I highly recommend for something that feels special as the food and service wil make you feel like an A lister regardless. A great option to take a friend to or for a date as they will, I think, be suitably impressed. I am told you should sit upstairs as I did though as it can get a bit hectic otherwise apparently

I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is fresh and tasty. The decor is nice with the fish tanks. The price of food is on the high side and the service can be slow when it s packed.

Everything about this restaurant is amazing. Went here with my family and we had the best time. The service is very helpful and friendly they were very destined to help and suggest.
The food was excellent, I strongly recommend to order the significant dishes of the restaurant. (Ask the personnel). The desserts were mind blowing as well.
A must visit place in my opinion.

I ve been to this establishment on numerous occasions - The food has always been quick, the service great and the quality fantastic.

Today there was a little issue with our order not being processed - This resulted in me and my 2 friends waiting for over an hour.

After mentioning this and expressing our concerns, the food came straight out with no extra delay, they even brought us an extra dish!

After eating the meal (which was great as normal) I asked for the bill - which the company had decided to write off (we were still happy to pay).

Putting aside the good service and fanatic food - I was extremely impressed that customer satisfaction came before profits. That to me shows exactly what kind of company this is.

I will be returning, thank you guys - greatly appreciated. You ve just gained 2 new customers

5 star - well deserved.

A contemporary dim sum teahouse. That s how Yauatcha describes itself on its website and how could that fail to sound like a really fun idea? Lots of small dishes to graze upon, laid back chatter in between comforting sips of tea. It s perfect for catching up with friends or a casual date. Add a Michelin star to its credentials, however, and my former student self begins to get nervous. Visions of minuscule morsels and a monstrous bill begin to rise in front of my eyes.

The catch had to be in the portions. The dim sum had to be so small that they might be accidentally inhaled whilst sneezing. One sharp intake of breath and the food would vanish forever, never once grazing the tongue.

These, however, proved to be wild fantasies. I left Yauatcha comfortably full and desperate to throw my money at them again: the food, in case you haven t guessed, was beyond excellent.

Quite frankly, I have no idea why Yauatcha has escaped my radar, and if it s not been on your map either, sound the alarms, get out your GPS and cancel your weekend plans dining here should be an imperative for any foodie.

Behind a front of dark blue glass lies a sleek, modern interior with dark wood-topped tables, padded chairs and cakes. That s right beautiful, colourful and extravagant cakes lining a bar near the front window. The temptation is so blatant that it should be illegal.

We settled in, placed our orders and awaited the goods, fortunately with the desserts out of our line of sight. They were, however, soon forgotten as a myriad of delights decorated our table.

The first dish to come was sticky rice with chicken and shrimp wrapped in a lotus leaf. Simple though this was, it was one of the highlights of the meal. It was beautifully flavoured that I would have happily been served it as an entire meal and eaten a giant bowlful without getting bored. It was so delicious that I found myself trying to save some until last.

We were then presented with a variety of dumplings which banished unfortunate past memories of stodginess and really highlighted the subtlety that is so often lost in Chinese cuisine.

Each dish was a delight and devoured with pleasure, and perhaps a little sorrow: they tasted so good that they inspired extreme greed and cravings for more.

Particularly worth noting was the venison puff that carefully balanced sweetness against the rich flavour of the meat. The prawn and beancurd cheung fun (steamed rice roll), whilst not the most aesthetic piece to Western eyes indeed it is sometimes called pig intestine due to its appearance was firm but light, and again disappeared all too quickly.

Even though we were embarking on an extraordinary tasting journey, we were aware of the high quality service we received: our waitress had exactly the right approach that perfect balance between professionalism, genuine interest and pride in what was being served. And, of course, why wouldn t the waiting staff be proud? They re serving excellent food. Yauatcha is in a class of its own.

The Taste of Yauatcha menu is good value and I personally think this is one of the better dim sum places in London. The one in the Shard (I forgot the name) is fancier with a fabulous view, but doesn't satisfy me like Yauatcha.
