I like this place. I think in general the food is good. We had the Vegetarian set menu for 2 at 45 per person. It was a lot of food. We were stuffed at the end! My favourite is the Vegetarian duck. The dim sum starters were good. The truffle spring roll was interesting. My least favourite was the salt and garlic tofu in the mains. It was a dry dish and did not understand how it went with rice. The tofu had no flavour. I think in the future it would be better to order a la carte as I would eat less but also maybe choose better dishes. To our disappointment we could not choose the dessert. However the chocolate dessert pictured, which was the only vegetarian one, was really good. I was really disappointed to learn that Yauatcha only has one vegetarian dessert! Given the age we are in I found it surprising. I was however promised that some new ones will be coming!

A luxury Asian restaurant that serves very good Dim Sum to share in a friendly atmosphere. The pastry desserts are delicious, something rare for an Asian restaurant
The prices are a bit high, up to the place. The place is popular with Londoners, remember to book

Yauatcha is on the pricier side for Chinese dim sum but it has always served me consistent and quality dim sum. What never fails to entertain my taste buds are the venison puffs and prawn & bean curd cheung fun.

I would also recommend having the vegetable congee with the chili squid. Always fresh springy squid and the Chili oats work well with the congee. I would skip the desserts. Though visually stunning, I have never found one that stuns my tongue the same way.

The dim sum reminded me of those awful cooking programs where a chef travels to a foreign destination and 'improves' their best recipies into bland fusion dishes. The mains and wines are ok though, and the surroundings are pleasant.

The service was exquisite. Great ambiance and delicious food. I highly recommend the venison and beef puffs, they just melt in your mouth. Our server was a beautiful 24 year old Italian that guided our experience perfectly. I had some friends visiting from Oz and they were a bit badly behaved and she handled it perfectly! This is my new fave spot! The whole experience is sure to impress every time. I wish I could remember our blond servers name but she had a team that all delivered excellent service - it's such a treat.... especially in London!

Worthy of 3.5* really.

Worthy of 3.5* really.

Cons - service was so distinctly average for a nice restaurant. Miserable front of house lady 'welcoming you in' - basically shouted at us for trying to shield from the rain and told us to wait outside whilst she tapped away on her Ipad. it was pelting it down, have a bit of common sense. Waitress we had was a bit of a robot. Couldn't hear a thing she was saying half the time. Not sure why the staff weren't wearing see trough visor PPE so you can at least attempt to lip read. We had to ask twice for one of our drinks. Two bits of food came and then we waited another 5-10 minutes for the rest. Not good enough. No one came over to ask how our food was. Just so average.

If you somehow have not been there yet, go. This place is a Michelin-starred dim-sum restaurant with fantastic service and great food. A note: downstairs area has rather poor acoustics; they play clubby music at elevated levels and therefore people talk louder than needed. All that combined makes for a noisy environment. Get a table upstairs if you are not into loud places. Sorry for a single photo, we ate all too fast

We had a fabulous meal with kids. The cocktails were great, the appetizers outstanding, the main course delicious, and the desserts amazing. Loved the signature cocktail, the hot and sour soup, and the dumplings. The prawn chow fun was especially good.

Delicious food, absolutely stuffed afterwards. Excellent service provided by our waiter named Roshan, who brought out a macaroon with a happy birthday message for my Mum at the end. I made the reservations a while ago and only mentioned it as part of my reservation when I booked that it was my Mum's birthday, not at the restaurant so it was very impressive that they remembered and went the extra mile. The dim sum was delicious - I highly recommend the edamamme with truffle, prawn, scallop and the lobster. The Spicy aubergine, sato bean, okra and French bean with peanut vegetarian dish was something special. A great meal - thank you.

Consistently excellent food and presentation. The service is professional and the surroundings are trendy. The menu is highly creative and probably has the best chinese food in london The prices are quite reasonable prticularly if one is careful. I suggest the Char-sui, the specials, and anything your waiter suggests!

If you are looking for authentic Chinese food, this is not the place. They have a fusion approach and there are some Chinese flavours and styles. The prices are definitely more similar to that of western cuisines. With that said, the food here is tasty, just not sure if it is worth these prices.

Terribly rude staff. Gave us a table at the bar because we just want to have tea and cakes. We then decided to have some dim sum, and they rushed to collect the plates the second we finish eating. Basically kicking us out.

Some dishes that are so incredible they defy superlatives, truffled belly pork is the best thing you will ever eat, delicate, perfectly spiced dim sum, har gau and sui mai as good as anywhere in the world, let alone London and for Vegans, (I know one) mock crispy duck that is better than real crispy duck, so we have it instead! Noisy, brash and really good fun...a place I can go with my twenty-something offspring(age not quantity) and they think it's sick, or cool or whatever they call it these days and the food is so good us old folk love it too. Service not always great, but I'm really just trying to make this review a little less gushy.

Highly recommending Yauatcha. It is a very nice place with extremely attentive service staff who take care of you the whole evening. Our waitress was checking if we needed more wine or whether we are happy with the food, etc. As far as the food goes, I really liked the Lamb and the crispy potatoes on the side fantastic!

Good food and nice atmosphere. We would have loved to hear someone explain the menu a bit more before our order, we had to ask about everything.

All dishes came in very quickly so felt a bit stressed from time to time

But overall a great place I would recommend :)

We had a dinner reservation for four last night, based on several recommendations. It was the worst meal we have had in London.

Panda Express quality, with Michelin star restaurant prices.

All 4 entrees, including the side dishes, were extremely oily. The main ingredient in all of them was onion. The appetizers were a bit better, but still greasy. The dumplings dough was way too thick. Desert was mediocre at best.
Nothing to tell about.

Not only the meal wasn t worth its ridiculously high price, it doesn t even worth half of it.

Cocktails were nice and food was ok. Felt unwell after eating there, so wouldn t recommend. Service was horrible - not sure how can a waiter be so indifferent and unfriendly at the same time. For this price the least they can do is serve fresh food!

My first Michelin Star restaurant. It had great attention to service and the space looked nice.

I would say go in, reserve a table and try it out. Might as well. It wasn t expensive and well worth it.

Michelin star yes, but amazing food? Not necessarily. Perhaps my palate isn't refined enough, but I'd prefer to pay for Ping Pong's all you can eat on Sundays and save some cash at the same time.

Don't be mistaken, the food is good, just not good enough to justify the price or the hype. Two definite must trys, however, are the duck and any of the chocolate desserts!

The place was amazing when it first opened, before Alan Yau sold it. Still one of the best places for dim sum in London though. Royal China is good and we go often, but in terms of quality, Yauatcha is far superior.

The food was nice and bar staff were lovely, however the front of house / hostesses were stuck up and to put it bluntly, quite rude.
Ironic, considering they are the first people you see as you enter, so should make you feel the most welcome.
For me, a restaurant isn t just about the food but also about the atmosphere, so based on that I wouldn t come back or recommend to anyone else as you would get better service from thousands of other places and staff who don t think they re above everyone.
A word of advice - treat every customer the same and don t look down your nose on certain customers based on your own prejudice :)

Very disappointing evening. They forgot to order our steam starters and after 40min showed up with the crispy duck. When we ordered the bill the charged us full price and service. Only when we asked them to remove the service charge they offered us an apology by removing the two drinks we had ordered.

This is an easy 5 star. This is definitely the best Chinese I have ever had in my life. Expert staff. Wonderful place. Great ambiance. The furniture is low and small. So big people might not find it very comfortable

1. When I asked to add hot water to my tea, they added hot water... but threw away the tea so I just had hot water. Rude.
2. The pancakes for the duck were cooked the night before and stuck to each other. Also they cut the duck wrong (like mangling a corpse)
3. The service took forever and sucked.
4. Massively overpriced.

This place is worthy of its fame and Michelin star for sure. Came here for lunch, they offer a few options at a very fair VFM, you can also take your pick from the menu of course. Everything we had was great, some was amazing. The options in the lunch menu we had aren't that exotic and can't really blow your mind, but even with these limitations it is clear that the mitch knows what they are doing. Desserts are also great. Worth a visit for sure.

My favorite Chinese in London. The food is great, and the drinks are too. I recommend having the venison puff. The one thing that makes this place great, is when they make mistakes, they make up for it ALWAYS. It s a must see, 5 Star place

Nothing can be faulted at Yauatcha. I have been twice, once as a couple and another as a larger group. The food is delicious and reasonably priced all things considered. The staff are very attentive, constantly popping over to top up our water glasses and clear plates when needed. Food came fairly quickly. Downstairs is quite dark so opt for seating upstairs if a darker room doesn't interest you. I had the vegetarian duck on both visits and it was absolutely amazing. The desserts look as good as they taste and you can also purchase them for take away.

A hugely disappointing experience..... it started with a very unfriendly reception. On a rainy day we were sat outside ( even after booking). We asked if we could sit inside and the lady seating us said there s only one table inside and More

went here a few days ago for dinner and only tried the dimsum. The dimsum was amazing, very tasty. Only downside is that it can be very noisy in there. I was there with my friend and needed to yell at her, because also the tables were very close to each other. Even with the noise, I will go back to try the other dimsums.

Terrible food, very clunky interiors.

Terrible food, very clunky interiors.

I came back here after so many years and literarily was surprised how this place is still popular. I arrived on time for a reservation but was asked to wait in a dungeon-like low ceiling bar at the back of the room (no idea how they pull this off, felt like a storage room).

The rest of the experience wasn't pleasant either, the dim sum was hard to chew and the rest of the food full of sauces.

Definitely not worth it and not coming back
