Tasty Chinese food in an attractive, modern setting. Majority of food was great with only the steamed items such as the xiaolongbao lacking due to having thicker skin than expected. Service was efficient but rather cold.

The food was ok, at a average level not a Michelin level, that s the stars for, but the service was bad as the waitress was trying so hard to push us to leave, I wish she could say please leave rather than checked with us 1000 times in half an hour to ask us have you finished when the plates were NOT empty apparently. For your reference, we were not exceed the 2 hours recommended hours at all. So, I wouldn t consider this crowded place as Michelin star restaurant and will not come back again. I should have asked to remove the service charge as there was no service at all, but I didn t, so I would suggest don t hesitate to do so if you feel bad.

What a gem!!!!

What a gem!!!!
This is the best Chinese I have been to. The interior is modern, clean and gives the impression of a high standard. The food is fantastic from start to finish I wish I ordered more dim sum than I did though! Cocktails were nice and refreshing. Staff were fantastic throughout, able to help with the menu and give recommendations and very welcoming. Definitely going back next time we are in Town..

I had the single best dining experience of my life here! The place is pricier than what I'm used to but it's really worth it and I would definitely go again. The food here is on another level! Amazing!

I went alone for lunch and had one of the most serene and savory meals of my life. They did not offer a dim sum prix fixe for one person, so I just a la carte ordered what they listed for the paired prix fixe minus two items. Paired with a fermented blue tea. Design, of the food, the setting and especially the tableware was exceptional.

The crispy aromatic duck was absolutely perfect, the crispy dryness and a strong taste of actual meat. Without reservation, we were still allowed a table for roughly an hour and a half. The service was excellent, and the interior of the restaurant was stylish and nice, yet cozy and slightly homely, much like a modern home. Five stars. too bad we cant give six.

Absolutely delicious! THE BEST Chinese restaurant in Europe I have ever tried! Could definitely compete with the best restaurants in Shanghai and Hong Kong!
Strongly recommended: venison puff and all steamed dumplings, the Shanghai Xiao long Bao with crab meat is just as good as the best ones in Shanghai!
Good cocktails and western desserts
Next time I'll try the main courses
Great service and luxurious atmosphere , only one Russian waitress doesn't know the menu well, and had no idea what I was asking for...luckily they have Chinese waitress too
So the big price is also acceptable

I didn't pay, so I can't comment on the price but there were 10 of us and we smashed our way through a lot of cocktails and wine so it's fairly safe to say it wasn't cheap!
The food was absolute bangers! Easily the best Chinese food I've ever eaten and I'm a big fan of Chinese. Most of what we ate was close to floorless. Stunningly subtle, crafted by some very talented people whose creations dance across your pallet and delight your mouth with textures you never expected.
Service was excellent. I wish I had room for desert, they looked amazing. Instead I'm lying horizontally on the couch rubbing my over stuffed tummy, in the midst of massive food coma. Trying my hardest to ignore the disapproving looks from my girlfriend.

Delicious and exactly the level of dim sum for London. I prefer a more traditional dim sum experience than the contemporary version offered here but it was worth the visit. No dish or drink disappointed.

Went here several times with my friends and family. Every time I went there it was a very lovely experience. There is a very good selection of dim sum available and they all taste really nice. Both upstairs and down stairs are very set nicely then they have very different moods as well. I loved the touch they added on the birthday as well.

lovely afternoon tea service. chinese tea with a french pastry chef. awesome sleek design with different "fish tanks" as the theme. of coure, the salt wqter tanks, but also the frosted glass in front of the chefs and the long rectangular

The best dim sum I've ever had, worth the trip and will definitely return to to tastr this beautiful selection more and more. We shared one stir fry ball thought, concentrating on thr Dim sum. We also shared one dessert which turned to be a little disappointing but this is a personal thing. Contrary to that, we took some macaroons home which were excellent and special - so as a recommendation, try the macaroons for dessert or just go for another dim sum dish...

It might be true the restaurant is more western styled, but the wide range of choices of dim sum were all of top quality. Worth a try, although there are dim sum of same quality at lower price around London. Service was just average. Patisserie is not of best quality and cakes definitely look better than they taste, not to mention the price gap between eat-in and takeaway is unreasonably huge.

The food was nice but could be better for the price they were charging. No rice noodles just after 12 noon. It seemed that they were not really bothered. No Chinese desserts either.
Don't understand what they are trying to achieve by having low tables and chairs. Standard ones would be more comfortable.
The tea we had was hot...Too hot for us to hold the tea cups. Tea leaves were removed from the pot because they said no refill.
Dishes served were not hot enough only a bit warm.
This was a one off visit. Glad we tried though.

Best Dim Sum in town. If you are looking for different flavours of Dim Sum, this is the place. It has all the usual favourites, but also a range of surprises that will make you want to come back for more.

Good but not outstanding experience. Certain tastes are too strong and trivial for a starred place. You need to get out at a given hour policy is far from improving any eating experience.

Pretty overrated, posh place....cold, cool , trendy atmosphere, not cosy or inviting at all. Food was okay, but it s the least I can exspect for that prices. Had better dim sum by far in Chinatown recently, but so many recommended this place. Anyway, tried it, didn t like it. No my cuppa tea

Standards falling. Service appalling.

Standards falling. Service appalling.
I walked in at about 3.50pm on Saturday. There was a dark haired, tall woman at the reception. She was taking a phone call, so I waited at the counter. She made no attempt absolutely no attempt to acknowledge I was there waiting even though I was literally standing a few inches away from her. Even a tiny nod or some form of eye contact would be nice.
When she's done I asked for a table for 1 and was lead to a tiny area at the back of the restaurant with bar/counter seats. The tables were extremely narrow and was basically facing a semi opaque blue wall. Looks terribly uncomfortable. I asked if I could have a table seat instead. I could see a few empty tables and as I've been a couple of times I knew they had a basement floor with more seating.

To my astonishment, she insisted they were full had no seats but those miserable bar seats. As for the empty tables they were apparently all fully booked and were expecting the customers anytime now. But many of those tables were not even cleared?!

Then I reminded her that as I was waiting at the reception I had overheard her call perfectly. She had just accepted an reservation and was saying to the caller yes we have tables for you now.

She then tried to argue that the reservation was for 4pm which baffles me because its abkut 3.50pmish now. What irony.

Again she insisted I could only have bar seats.

To add insult to injury, she was thoroughly rude and impatient the whole time.

I chose to leave and possibly never return again.

Paid a long overdue return visit to this excellent restaurant. The soft shell crab is probably the best I have ever had. All dishes are packed with flavours that will excite your taste buds.

We have been eating at Yauatcha since it opened and have always had amazing food and great service.
It is totally clear why Yauatcha lost its Michelin star last year - poor management, dreadful staff who have little experience and hit and miss food.
Really sad to see the decline of a great restaurant where no one cares or responds to complaints and no long term staff around to worry about this.
Even the toilets had run out of toilet paper!

The food is LACED with MSG. Suffered a horrible and very frightening reaction during dinner last night. The restaurant was all too happy to take my payment while we were awaiting the ambulance which they had rung for me, while I was struggling to breathe and hold on to consciousness, and was barely able to speak in single words. Shocking experience. AVOID AVOID AVOID if you have MSG sensitivities. They told me they had asked me if I had allergies before the meal - but they did not. They asked my dinner companion - who lives in a different country and I have not seen for over 7 years - and I didn't hear. There was no warning on the menu. I associate excess MSG with poor quality food and had no suspicion that an upmarket and expensive place like this would make such extensive use of it. I have been looking forward to enjoying this restaurant since it first opened and I am now really sorry that I finally made it there.

Waited 55 minutes from the time they brought starters to the time they brought our main course. No one checked on us, managers did not care to help or acknowledge our concern. The food was absolutely lovely, but the wait time and service was a horrid nightmare. The service could improve by showing some sort of compassion to their customers.

Not that impressed with the food. Feel like the service wasn't that nice as well. Took forever to get simple requests (water, fork..). The desserts are really really nice tho and the drinks they serve

Fantastic meal at Yauatcha. Had the Dim Sum menu and it was sublime. Everything was light as a cloud, yet exploding in flavour and just something else. Faultless service, and impeccable wine list make this still one of the best restaurants in Soho after all these years.

Well, I love everything about the place except the prices. If you can afford it, this is the place to eat but... Wow. The desserts are particularly impressive and it's fun watching them made on site and knowing they have been attended to as carefully as your main meal

Firstly, I shall to give some background info., I am from Hong Kong. We are used to 100 different flavours of mooncake and the highest quality, most unique and beautiful.

I have been searching for mooncake for mid-autumn festival in London. I finally found Yauatcha. The website made the mooncake looked stunning! Well they did look stunning. But the snowy mooncake was... meh. It just did not taste right. The salted egg yolk was lack of the texture, the Pandan filling was too soft. Overall when you bite into the snowy mooncake, it felt a bit like a mini dough rather than the mooncake. You cannot taste much of the egg yolk or the pandan. I noticed everything in pasty/cake were tiny in Yauatcha. These mooncake also were exceptionally small.

It's once a year, next year I will probably make my own. I was still excited that these were nicely fresh baked in London tho. To be fair, these were the nicest looking ones I found in London.

Whilst the food was good, it was incredibly noisy to the point where you can't hear anything. The staff were not friendly and got an order wrong. Good food, but probably not worth the price in the setting.
