Been coming here for years, at least twice a year, great zoo, very natural, giraffes are fun to feed, the train is great, and the playground for the kiddos is a great way to end the day or get a bite to eat in the restaurant where you can eat right next to a huge cylinder shaped shark tank. I prefer this place over the Phoenix zoo. Worth the drive.

Cool rites and lovely animal supper big!!! Beautiful petting zoo and safari area... the only thing that concerned me was walking on the dirt all the time prepare good tennis shoes and a qualify stroller if you have kids other than that everything its amazing

Loved seeing so many different kind of animals, but I felt like they could have done a better job at putting some of those enclosures together. Also, everything is over priced. Anything you want to do inside is extra money and CASH ONLY. That was the worst. Even food was cash only and not even that good. Some of the employees were very rude.

My Kids love the Zoo and its super close by our house so we got a yearly membership. The zoo is updating habitats and talking with the zoo keepers they really seem to care about the animals. I do agree with some people about some of the cages being too small for the type of animals in them.

Also another thing to keep in mind a lot of the animals kids have a hard time seeing if they are in the stroller, I end up holding my 2 year old mostly so he can actually see the animals that can't be seen sitting in the stroller.

Been there 4 times now, one of the Kangaroo recently had a baby and they are super cute to see in the pouches when they stick their heads out. The Mama came right up on the path within a few feet of us, the kids really love it, I usually take family that comes to town to this zoo and they all love it too.

The zoo itself is great, well maintained and enjoyable. I definitely recommend finding a discount of some sort (there's almost always a coupon or groupon or discount somewhere). However, be prepared to bring CASH if you want to enjoy any of the numerous rides and extras. They are all over the park, but they all are strictly CASH to participate. The rides will vary in price from $3.50 per person to $15 per person. No credit cards. If you're there for the animals, they are great! Its a lovely stroll and a great way to spend a day with your family or friends. In addition, if you do plan to go on any sort of regular basis, I highly recommend getting a membership!

Employees were contradicting regarding payment and policies. They were rude upon arrival regarding payment and when a manager was asked to help in the situation, she was equally rude. The customer service was very poor to say the least and the situation could have been handled with better class and customer service. Employees and management seemed impatient and annoyed with our large group and our misunderstanding of acceptable methods of payment for our party. We were made to feel unwelcome and not wanting to return in the future.

The attractions were fun. I enjoyed the cable cars the most. The log flume ride is not worth $6.50, as it is short. The parrot feeding was fun. I also enjoyed the petting zoos and aquariums.

I love this small town zoo. It has such a nice collection of happy and healthy animals. They are still adding new additions which is great. The aquarium has some of the largest Discus fish I have ever seen. My favorite fish and shows they know what they are doing. There were a few school groups but still didn't feel crowded. Lots of room to walk about. Also the baby nursery is an amazing concept and loved the cute lion cubs.

Interesting and huge place to walk around. Wildlife seem cared for, just wish they all had more room for themselves to move around. Adults please pay mind that the children treat all the wildlife with care and respect. Worth seeing and 2 nice giftshops.

Had an amazing time the park wasn't too packed everyone was wearing face mask, staff was friendly, the rides were super fun and geared towards family, there are lots of walking involved so being water and good walking shoes. I would most definitely bring my wife and kids here again.

I truly enjoy this zoo. It has expanded so much since I first started going here when my kids were small bit still manages to feel intimate. I love the shady walks, the feed the critters opportunities (bring lots of quarters) and the variety of wildlife. I love otters and they have two different species/exhibits. The food prices are less outrageous than my favorite movie theatre and on my last two visits I spent about six hours walking the zoo. A new expansion to the African Safari area is under construction!

Each exhibit was large enough you could see all animals at all times. The admission price was crazy high to see hundreds of birds but not only one of every other animal. Kangaroo enclosure was closed again. Staff never talked to you even when you asked a question. Aquarium parts were small and stunk. Half the park was flooded so you couldn t even go to that part of the park.

A smaller scale intimate setting, displaying the world's most exotic animals. It's hard to get me excited about wildlife at my age, but I felt like a kid walking around this place. Very exciting exhibits, with all my animal favorites. I would highly recommend this place to friends.

this place is constantly upgrading its experience. its great revisiting yearly and seeing the improvements.

their aquarium is the best in phoenix. they have several buildings housing different themes of aquariums. and then you forget on top of all that they still have an actual Zoo. The Reptile world is a pretty cool exhibit they recently upgraded that was a great addition. The other exhibits offer awesome views that you won't get at some of the other local zoo's, but also makes me wonder how long they can continue to do that before someone or some people will ruin that experience for the rest of us.

they offer several rides as well. log ride which seems to be too expensive, a ski lift that takes you over the omnivores (plant eating animals), and a train ride that's pretty cool. they also offer a boat ride that probably needs the most help. its almost a sad experience and should just be offered free since it really shows you nothing.

the petting/feeding area might not be for small kids. the deer and goats go wild at the sight of food. parents hold your kids and tuck away anything they can nibble.

the feeding area for the giraffe's is amazing and cheap. whereas other zoo's charge you a lot you can feed these guys for less than a buck and get great photo ops.

some might argue about the price of this place, but considering the zoo+aquarium combo its really a great price. perhaps they could split the cost? they do have a fence that separates the zoo from aquarium so i suppose in the future they could just separate them.

The zoo is very large and has a large variety of animals...lot of birds...gave it 3 stars because of the price, $127 for 3 people and that does not include the rides. The rides varied from $6 to $15.

Had a great time at this zoo. Tons of animals to see here. I also felt this zoo made it possible to see the animals closer up than any other zoo I've been to. The aquarium is a nice addition you normally don't get at a regular zoo.

The prices are expensive and my mother in law started getting dizzy after a couple hours, so we asked if we could get a discount to come back and they said no. Really!?! We spent $120 to get in and they couldn't give a discount since we had to leave early. Don't expect we will be returning.

The zoo itself is nice and you can get close to many of the animals. Too bad their management didn't value customer service.

My parents from Nebraska went with me & my two grandchildren plus our neighbor girl. One thing I wish we were told that everything is cash only. Some places had atm's,but I wish I was told before hand. The rides were sad. The kids loved them but the only went around once, which made them sad. That's all, just once!! The roller coaster went around once! Two kids, $12,for going around one time! They kids wanted to see the sea lions show. They were in line & the other people were fighting with each other because of lack of seating. The girls didn't want to be in the middle of the line with all the fighting & left. Truly sad! If we didn't have the map you would be lost. It isn't a planned out place. We missed a whole side because we had to walk back thru the same side because the kids wanted to go on the rides. We couldn't stay any longer. We had been there for 6 hours. That's will stopping twice for breaks. Maybe someday when we have the money we can see the other half.

I went there on opening day hoping it will be fun with the fam. I had radio flyer wagon with me along with a 4ft length by 2 ft wide cooler. I was checking in when an employee came to me from behind. Sayin you can t bring in that cooler we have a contract with the restaurant and stores of the park . I let her know it was really hot and we needed water and the pedyalites the only things I had in the chest with ice. She didn t care. You can bring in only the bottles on hand thank you she said. Not fair in the hot weather there was that day.

I recommend this zoo over the phx zoo mostly because they treat the animals like animals and not circus attractions. They have so many exotic animals that it's hard not to go back and see all of them. While I was there I enjoyed the safari ride where you get up close to the animals. It's great for kids too. They have a petting zoo and you can pet llamas! The aquarium is large too ve prepared to spend an entire day here

Its a nice zoo. To be completely honest the animals seem to be a bit sparse and not at that happy. But I can't imagine any animals is insanely excited to be in captivity. I really like seeing tigers and sea lions. They had a really cute baby clouded leopard in the baby animals exhibit. Most the staff seemed friendly and they have some fun rides throughout the park. You can bring your own drinks and snacks so that is really nice but dont forget to bring cash because after you enter, everything is cash only. Atms are located throughout the park but who wants to pay those fees. Bottom line, its fun, good way to spend a day, but has room for improvements.

Be sure to bring cash! But they do have atms. The train, tram, and log ride are all worth it. The park is big, beautiful, and clean. The summaries animals were all out and happy. Highly recommended

Amazing place to take kids. While I love most everything about it, it isn't cheap to get in ($40 at my time of visit), although that's not the issue. My issue is that you then have to pay separately for "special things" to do (ie, feed the giraffes, stingrays, ride the train, etc). I'd much rather pay an additional $5-$10, but have everything included. Just my thoughts. Still an awesome to see some amazing animals!

I love that you don't have to buy a ticket just to go to the gift shop. The fish tanks inside the gift shop was so cool! My kids loved it! I space for walking around was awesome. It didn't feel crowded. Saw animals that I never knew existed...the howling dogs...they were pretty cool.

This is my favorite zoo in the Phoenix area. I feel like it changes every time we go! They have new animals coming regularly and the animals seem active as opposed to some where they are always hiding.

I would love to see a splash pad added for those hot summer days!

I'm so glad that they have reopened. We had an amazing time. I was concerned about going back due to the covid pandemic, but the safety measures they put in place eased my mind. the zoo keepers we very nice an informative and answered my sons questions while they were cleaning the squirrel monkey exhibit. My 11 month old made a friend in the small mammals exhibit. We had a fun visit can't wait to go back

We loved this place. There was something to look at everywhere you turned. The access to the animals was awesome.
I thought the admission was expensive before I entered, BUT the park is huge. And you can use Groupon for a discount or go to the internet and look for a dollars off coupon. Worth every penny.
It was not crowded because we went mid week which was a good choice.

Dusty dirt walking paths. Poor animals wallowing in their own filth. Strange/deranged employees in golf carts. Enough contagions to infect billions of people. Try visiting the petting zoo and pet the sh@it infested fur of a Lama or goat, they'll be happy to jump up on you leaving "sh!tprints" on your clothes. The kangaroo walk-thru was covered in feces. It must not have been cleaned for a week. They should euthanize the animals to put them out of their misery. Two stars for the rides, but if they are maintained buy some of the people I see working there they probably aren't safe to ride.
