Please stay away. Anti-American and cowardly organization. I fought for this owners freedom to hate against other Americans freedoms.

Excellent venue, small enough that every seat is a great seat.
Actually 0 stars, just not a choice given. Hope they get sued for breach of contract.
It's a waste of time and money to sign a contract with this place, only for them to break the contract and blame someone else.
One star, only because you can't give them zero.
Was treated terribly while attending an event at this location by their staff. I was bullied and embarrassed by three separate WIT theater staff members. I HIGHLY recommend never attending an event at this location.
Saw state of the art, more up and coming theatre here. They do a great job of picking new plays that do something different. They are able to pick good quality plays. Inexpensive, and worth all of the money. Good service. Nice, intimate theatre setting.
Great local theatre with a variety of shows at fair pricing.
Labeling a group as a hate group without even knowing what they are about? #Walkaway
Great cozy place for the family. Saw a magic show and loved every minute.
We saw Bonnie and Clyde the musical here. It was ok, felt like community theater. Great seafood restaurant across the street if you get there early!
Loved the performance I was there to see but the theater seats were kinda weak and rickety
A gem of a theater, we saw a play called "How to Use a Knife" which had an enthusiastic cast despite its ambiguous theme. The facility itself has 3 main stages; the one I went to was an alley stage with two sections of seating opposite each other and the stage in the middle. Overall a lovely night.
This theater cancelled a paid for event with contracts signed at the last minute for a LGBT town hall with 300 tickets purchased after they found out that the founder who is gay man, his panelist a Gay jewish man & a trans-gender woman wanted to discuss why LGBT's continue to vote Democrat. The theater management called them Facists and other horrible names. This place does not support open discussion only group think.
Intense and provocative show -- "How to Use a Knife" -- very timely with the current political climate and statement about addiction.
Great experience working with them. Theater 3 was a lovely and very flexible venue for our production, and came well equipped. I ve also enjoyed several late night shows there (Afterparty) and had a blast! I do wish they had changing tables for my baby, but other than that the space is great, and the staff were very accommodating when I brought her.
Amazing theater. I was blown away with the level of talent and culture that the Wit offers. The play Women Laughing Alone With Salad is a triumph of modern theater.
Great space. About Face Theater pullls off top notch production's full of heart.
Intimate performing arts space in the north side. Searing makes you feel part of the performance.
Charming place - bigger on the inside. Get a pretzel from the concession stand, they're worth the $3.50
With has three theaters and multiple companies, so there is always a wide range of shows
This is a fantastic venue if you are intolerant of diversity, but simply give it lip service.
Great theatre on the north side of Chicago. Lots of local playwrights sampling out more material. They also have a full bar and a few snacks.
Great venue. Great welcoming staff. Incredibly acted playSheepdog with actors who poured their hearts out. Chicago gem that deserves to be supported.
Can I give less than 1star? This place refused to honor their contract with #walkaway. NOT recommended, do not enter into a contract with them-you may be hit with a broken contract.
BEWARE, guest was less than 15 mins late with a ticket on hold, they refused to allow him to enter theatre #3. Weather conditions were horrible, and traveled 1-1/2 hours; however, I stayed around to take someone home as promised "Virtues of Selflessness!" I DO NOT recommend this place, Double Standards! I have attended high-end theatres, and have never been Treated with such Prejudice Actions!! Dave Wechsler, Mgr./Owner is the person that made the decision. However, a caucasian gentleman was allowed to enter minutes before us!! Dave don't show favoritism..., and I see your mechanism...! I also over heard Dave say to someone else whom questioned him regarding allowed the caucasian gentleman to enter theatre after play started, Dave said to the person "he was attending a later show," but all shows started at same time on Saturday, December 17, 2016! I confirmed show time with his employee of Theater Wit on Belmont Avenue; Dave Lied! Dave treat all guest of your theater equally; however, I'm glad to know how you favored the caucasian gentleman whom was also late for a show that started at the same time!!
I traveled in blistering weather conditions to support two young people 18 years of age, that's the kind of heart I have "Virtues Selflessness!" In as much as, I attempted to show Dave my ID to confirm the distance we traveled in the snowstorm, he was not interested!! Dave your Prejudice is Apparent, I'm Glad to Know and want others to BEWARE OF DAVE WECHSLER's DOUBLE STANDARDS!!
A theatrical treasure in Chicago. Great shows and even better service.
Parking is terrible. Floor was sticky. No soap in the bathroom.
Here to see escape from Santa land. If your trying to get in the Christmas spirit don t waste your time. This was a 90 minute platform on gay relationships (nothing wrong with that) and nothing to do with Christmas. Felt duped.
Nice cozy local theater. Great play we saw. There needs to be more seats in the waiting area but definitely an intimate environment
WOW, I'm not gay but violating a contract the day before an event and making false defamatory statements. Very poor business, very poor ethics.
These people do not honor their contract. Also they lied and tried to defame Brandon s Straka and his #WalkAway movement. I guess they didn t learn from the jerks who tried the same thing in NYC who are now facing a libel lawsuit after pulling the same thing. You preach tolerance and inclusivity but you are the intolerant and exclusive ones. You say you support LGBT voices but you really only support LGBT voices that agree with you. Brandon and his panel are part of the LGBT community but they think for themselves and are not sheep who follow their slave master which is the democrat party. The people who make up the #WalkAway movement are former democrats and liberals who just can t take the intolerance anymore.
Hit ler would be proud.
Hate and bigotry welcome here.
Very sad, they cancelled the event for #walkaway which is lead by a gay conservative white male with a huge LGBT following, but it is a conservative group who have walked away from the Democratic Party and the left biased media.
The venue cancelled an event at the last minute due to misinformation.
Want a safe sure thing that will make you seem artsy and cool for a date? This is the place. Consistently terrific work. Never bad.
These people are cowards and not worth your time or money after they completely backed out of a contract with the #walkaway town hall event scheduled in July 2019 because of false reports. These guys will never receive any money from me or anyone I tell about this cowardly act.
Excellent theater. Good job with the Mr. Burns musical!
Drinks were over priced, and bar service was slow. Otherwise everything was lovely. Great prices for great shows.
I love seeing shows at The Wit! The staff at the box office are always friendly and eager to help me, no matter how many questions I have. The theaters themselves are small enough for an intimate show, but large enough for a rousing audience. It's an inexpensive way to get into local Chicago theater, and it's even close to home. I can't stress this enough - if you're not sure what to do on a Saturday night, go see a show at The Wit.
This establishment are bigots to conservatives. They canceled a lbtg townhall event that was being put on by #walkaway that welcomed anyone who wanted to come. Wit theater canceled their event with 24 hrs or less than that before it took place. This is incredibly unprofessional and bigoted to boot. Doesn t matter if you are gay, black, a woman, a Jew etc, If you don t follow the exact thinking of their style of extreme liberalism then they hate you as seen with what they did to the #walkaway lbtg town hall event.
Discrimination at its finest wouldn't go there if I was paid everyone needs to 1 star this place and drop there ratings they don't deserve a 4 star ranking
Shame on you for the horrific treatment of a solid group of American Citizens who went out if their way, spent a tremendous amount of time and money to be there only to be turned away at the last minute! If you run your organization by not allowing the unpopular opinion to be represented, I'm certainly not willing to support you! #WalkAway
Three stages. Everything from the bar can be taken in to the theaters. I saw productions of "Haymarket" and "Crime and Punishment." Quality stuff.
Easy to find. Friendly staff. Fun drinks. Lovely theatres!
Interesting venue for several small live performance stages. Staff was fine.
Up close and personal with the stage and actors.
Easy to take the El and walk to the theater.
Saw "The Antelope Party". Play is clearly concerned about rising fascism.
Ignore the review stating they weren't let in. Going to theatre is not like going to the movies. If you show up late the theatre has the right deny you entrance.
Theatre wit is a great space. Seen multiple shows here and had a great experience everytime. They put up great shows with great actors.
This facility contains several small theaters with a shared lobby area. Many local theater companies use these spaces, and they work quite well. There is a bar in the lobby area, with a nice selection of wine and cocktails. It's a great cultural resource for the community.
It was an exceptional performance of Hannah and Martin currently in production now. In theatre three, it was an intellectually stimulating performance.
They cancelled a contract with people that they don't agree with politically. Calling us racist and bigots...I'm sick and tired of all of the name calling. It's time for these businesses to stop adding to the divisiveness that is going on in this country. The #Walkaway group is peaceful and inclusive.
Horrible owner and managment. Will never rent this place or refer anyone here because they are so bigoted and have huge attitude problems. They care nothing about the community or the truth. Bunch of lying egotists.
Venue engages in ideological censorship. Staff gleefully endorse facism and white supremacy by dropping town hall event with panelists opposed to such ideologies.
Wonderful venue with smaller shows and catering to the local crowd.
I would like to give 0 stars but then I could not comment. Theater Wit cancelled an event they had already signed a contract to provide space for because it was a heavens forbid....conservative group running the event! Cowards and closed minded at best. That's the liberal agenda. Free speech is fine as long as it's speech we approve of.
Wish I could give this venue zero star review. They recently descriminated against a group by cancelling the venue at the last minute. Apparently they don't allow people of various skin color, backgrounds, nationality, and sexual orientation if they don't vote Democrat. I hope they are held accountable for their hate.
the people are really nice. the space is a little small but they make it work.
Gotta be my favorite venue in Chicago for theatre. The companies who put up shows here are always superb
Edgy, creative production of Crime & Punishment. Some gratuitous over-the-top angry acting. Sometimes hard to understand (Raskolnikov could speak slower...) but a good look into the complexities of (a)morality.
