Took care of my wife's head laceration the er and staff were all excellent from check in to nurses and doctor it was a quick efficient visit and we were in and out in less than 2 hours .

I went in the hospital with a extremely low heart rate. Every one from the beginning to me leaving was absolutely out standing! The ppl in ICU thank you. The nurses in PCU OMG, I don t THINK I HAVE EVER IN MY LIFE BEEN AROUND A GROUP OF PPL SO READY TO HELP. I WAS Hurting they cared for me, as if I was part of their family! Mandy, Gloria, Dori! I absolutely felt so loved! Thank you! Thank you!

Every great once in a while I come here to see if my review is still here, and sure enough every time I find it has been removed. Isn't that odd? It's almost as if they don't want folks to read them. I wonder why that is?
I am only giving this place one star because I have to choose one. I gave birth to a child here (actually, in the hallway here) shortly after the nurses turned me away and said I couldn't possibly be in labor. Their excuse was that, and I quote the nurse, "a child's head can feel a lot like a closed cervix." All righty, then!
Ladies, if you value your child's life, please do some heavy research before you choose your health care provider. I know for a fact that my reviews aren't the only ones that disappear and sadly, some of the others were much worse than mine.

Tripped and had a hard fall very sore back and ribs. Thankfully did not break anything. However these so called doctors will not give you any pain meds unless you have broken something. Will not recommend or go back. What a joke. They did not want a list of my everyday meds.I guess because they were not planning on giving me anything anyway. Everyone in there is just plain dumb it's like a neighborhood got together and decided they was going to open and run a hospital with no experience whatsoever. I thought Big spring hospital was bad but this one takes the cake.

2 visits to the ER in the last month. First visit we had to wait a while but once we were in a room they were very thorough and efficient. We saw Dr. Dupont both visits and would be glad to have him again if the need arose. Our second visit was a little more serious and we were taken right back and attended to. We appreciated all the ER staff did and felt they were very professional. Husband was admitted the second visit and the 2nd floor staff was wonderful- special shout out to Yemi, Charisse and Baby Irma! I haven't always had positive experiences with ARMC but over the last few years they have taken good care of us when we needed it!

This is the friendliest staff ever! As a 12 week pregnant woman in a pandemic they went out of their way to comfort me and make sure I felt reassured as I went through my illness and surgery while alone. The nurses were simply amazing! Guy and Yvette in the ER kept me smiling and truly made me welcomed. Jacklyn in the OR waiting area kept me happy and even tried pranking me to make me smile. The ortho nurses Ana and Brittany were awesome and always ready to help me when I needed it. Not to mention Dr. Cole was a great surgeon, took his time to answer all of my questions and made sure my family was aware of every step of my care along the way. Thank you to this amazing team and for keeping me comfortable and happy!

Horrible Hospital

Horrible Hospital
This is the worst hospital I've ever been to. I would never come back. Horrible service, rude staff from nurses to doctors. I felt they have ruined my birth experience here.

Took my daughter in to be seen late evening. Waited two and a half hours in the waiting. Hour to be seen by a Dr and another hour before we could get the prescription and discharge papers. Which each time the nurse saw her might have been in the room a max of 4 min. It concerned me considering this was an ear injury which I have noticed too many people including medical people don't take serious enough. Very frustrated that out of a near 5 hour wait the time spend with her was maybe 20 minutes. I know other things were going on however just didn't seem like they communicated very well with one another. Sitting out in the waiting room if one person was called in, another personnel about 5 min. behind them would call them only to find out they had been called in already. We were sitting in our room and had a staff personnel open the door and, state "oh this room is already occupied. " Very concerning for a ER medical staff. Also no ambulance visit during all this.

I drove three hours and thirty minutes to have surgery at this hospital. They were amazing! From the time we walked into the Pavilion and met the very funny gentleman until they rolled me out the next afternoon, was an amazing surgery and time in the office!

Went in for a kidney stone with a 8-9 on the pain scale. Got to the back pretty quick but wait ( while in excruciating pain ) for 45 min to an hour. Then got prescribe 10mg Toradol for the pain. Really 10mg Toradol ? Have u ever had a kidney stone ? Whether it is 3 mm or not , it's agonizingly painful. It's like they don't care your in pain. They basically prescribed me glorified aspirin

The staff is excellent. But we had a baby in 2015 and everything was good. In 2017 they outsourced billing. I set up a payment plan for baby 2 and they are sending me collections letters even though I setup a payment plan several months ago. (Even after the raped my insurance , no wonder it s so high) they have made my wife cry several time on the phone, rude folks In Tennessee or wherever. If there was a man for me to go see I would..... if anyone knows someone on the board of directors I d like to talk to them. This was a great place a few years ago, but this go around has been bad for us. The doctor and staff was excellent, just the administrative details of not being able to talk to someone in Abilene. We pay our bills and have excellent insurance. I m tempted to stop my auto draft payment plan since I m getting collection letters. Not sure what to do, love our doctor, but I don t think I d do business at regional next go round

Went in with extreme hernia pain and the doctor came in and was very rude, he kept asking if I was pregnant (I am not) and if I had a recent c section where they cut me vertically down my belly. Mind you my real c section scar was very visible. I have three kids and my linea nigra never went away. It was obvious it wasn't a scar. Ignoring my obvious concerns about the severe pain he didn't want to do any further test. I said fine and left. I ended up having to pay 40, (they wanted more than that) to be poked at and repeatedly asked if I was pregnant with a vertical c section scar. I left feeling pretty bad about my body and cheated out of 40.

Horrible hospital. This one of the most unethical bunch of thieves I have ever dealt with. I fell off of a roof and had 3 images and some Tylenol. I was in the ER for less than 3 hours, and these crooks charged over $18,000.00. My wife had an emergency C-section and it wasn t anywhere near that expensive at another hospital. Bunch of tyrants and thieves. Stay away and I hope the billing staff choke on their own spit.

Oh where to begin. I will not go back here! Went in for a CT Scan, 5 min procedure. My Ins. was chg $12800.85, was given a miss diagnosis. Apparently was given someone else's Scan. They still want more money! We are being ripped off by this Country's Healthcare!!!

My wife recently gave birth here on the 23rd of December. Dr. Garner was our doctor and she is amazing as well as all of the nurses that helped us. Everyone was especially helpful and seemed to be all smiles even though they were working on Christmas Eve to take care of my wife. Thanks everyone I greatly appreciate you!!

I have too many complaints about ARMC. My complain...

I have too many complaints about ARMC. My complaints start with my first and last PERSONAL experience back in the mid 1990's when I took my young son there. Starting with the check in nurse who was very RUDE. My son had been sick and after going to the walk-in clinic and starting an RX he started vomiting and was running a fever, so as a young mom (w/private insurance) we went to ARMC. Check in nurse basically yelled at me asking if we had gone to the walk-in clinic earlier, why was I bringing my son to the ER?? Needless to to say, on THAT experience, we left AMA. The check in nurse and other staff members refused to tell me what her name was. I did call the Medical Director the next day (fearing the bill we would get just for walking in the door) and explained. Thankfully this was before they outsourced the billing and I never received a bill. I swore that day to never return to that hospital. Sadly I had to take my M-I-L there a couple of times. The last time I took her, the "nurse" kept putting down Hendrick (she had no idea that I had once worked for HMC then worked for a DR associated w/ HMC). I was also angered by the fact that she told my M-I-L she had a kidney infection, then later told her it was a bladder infection. I said to her, I thought you said she had a kidney infection? She said, "Same thing." Um, no, technically the kidney and bladder are 2 different organs. A bladder infection can go into the kidney but that was not what she said. Any way, my point is that there is a "competition between Northside and Southside hospitals. I live on the Southside but will never again take a loved one through the doors of ARMC if I have a choice. Sorry for the long post. I did not go into every detail of my disregard for this place.

I was sent by my doctor on base to the emergency room to have some test done and the first person to come into my room and help me was named Guy and he made small talk with me and being that I was kind of tense it really called me down. He was super nice and calming. My 5 stars are for Guy

The wait wasn't long. After being called to the back the nurse that checked my vital signs was very rude and very hateful. I was in a lot of pain and having to deal with a rude nurse was uncalled for and very unprofessional. Defiantly will not be going back. Sad to see a good hospital go bad because of horrible nurses.

Everyone was so nice and caring even during this frustrating time. I was happy about the service and comfort they provided. The lady at the lab drew blood and I barely felt it. She was so gentle. Cynthia, one of my nurses, put an IV close to my elbow. It was unique but it was out of the way and never hurt. She was amazing and very personable.

I am a doctor, worst hospital I have ever been to went to ER left before checking in, bc there was no doctor on staff. Getting numerous bills from collections. When called the hospital they stated that they outsource and must contact the issuer of the bill?!
COMPLETE SCAM STAY AWAY.

This was my first time here for lab wy and x-rays. From the front desk receptionist to the person completing my registration ( Mrs Jennifer) who was very kind and professional as well as very caring. Then Andrew at the lab was fantastic, eloquent and awesome. The Mrs Trisha at the X-ray reception grreyes me with a soft voice and wye contact and right away acknowledged me.

These are all great examples of excellent customer service and skills.... Thank you all!

2016: Sitting here with my wife about to get a colonoscopy, and I'm amazed at how long we have been waiting for the actual procedure. She has not had anything to drink or eat in over 24 hours, and her appointment was at 1000, but here we are almost three hours later still waiting for the 10 minute procedure. I just had mine performed two months ago at hendricks, and was in and out in an hour...and had an early appointment of 7. Why is your process broken? I would like to know why it took so long? What is your quality assurance rate within the last couple of months.
I tried to post this comment you their website, but that is also broken due to the captcha word never being recognized when I put it in...maybe it's because their mission statement hasn't been updated in over a year.
Go to Hendricks if you need a colonoscopy...or anything else.

August 2018: Guess nothing has changed in two years; Just to add to the post: I am now sitting here to get simple x-rays completed, and have been sitting here waiting to be registered for you very an hour. Others have come and gone, and the only reasoning behind the delay that they can give me is that one of the receptionists took lunch. Why tell me to be here at a certaintime to inprocess , then bust the appointment time I was "scheduled" for by an hour. Then when I get to radiology...I'm waiting even longer! X-rays take 10 seconds to shoot and develop with digital systems now-a-days. Why am I waiting and seeing techs walking around laughing and joking? Again, go somewhere else for your health care needs

ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE, COULDN'T CARE LESS ABO...

ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE, COULDN'T CARE LESS ABOUT YOUR LIFE, GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE!!!! 0 stars if possible. My husband has been scheduled for the operating table 6 times to have an extremely important surgery. Every time we're told someone of higher priority took the table, I guarantee they aren't higher than a heart transplant. Scheduled for this morning, call yet again to confirm we are still on. AGAIN, we're told there's no table available. After making some of our own phone calls, come to find out it had nothing to do with table availability. It had everything to do with money that NO ONE told us they needed upfront!!! So instead of telling us before the surgery they need x amount paid, we are lied to and put off SIX TIMES for money we have available in the bank! We have been living in a hotel for 3 months so we could be close to the hospital for this, we have taken off work every time he had been scheduled. Thank you so much Regional for telling me that my husband's life doesn't matter to you, that the transplant waiting for him will be wasted because the life of the heart out of the body will expire before you can get to him next and putting my husband's life at risk the longer we wait to have this done. You are the worst hospital and I will never use you for anything after this and make sure I tell EVERYONE to stay away from this lying, corrupt "hospital" that would rather lie to you than tell you they need money from you.

Highly do not recommend. Went twice for my wife because of serious pains to the point of not moving. Finally gave up with this pointless place and went to Hendricks while wife was barely able to move and unable to talk. Turned out she was having a stroke due to medical conditions we had already assumed was happening and "experts" at reginal said she was fine. Currently awaiting surgery for something we could of avoided if these "experts " cared any to actually check out the stated problem. Learn to evaluate and diagnose before saying nothing is wrong.

*update* first surgery went great awaiting second surgery due to regionals mistakes and not able to take care of the issue in the
time needed

Triage nurses post ER waiting room were rude and ignorant after making snide remarks about my wife and sons medical history. Uncalled for and unprofessional. Vicki was a gem and was a great nurse but good luck getting past the clucking hens in the triage on your way to urgent care. This is the first one star i have ever given. They managed to sour even the nicest of people.

Horrible, worthless, and treated me like I was a burden. The doctors have a god complex to where they think they can control life, the nurses act as if you nothing less than a worthless price of crap. The over night nurses are the worst. Refused to help when I asked, told me I wasn't hurting and I need to keep quiet, and I had some money in my personal bag that came up missing. The doctors talked down to me, wouldn't let me ask what they was talking about ment. I was just another man in a room. Don't bother getting hungry while you stay here, all they would do is give me cold food or 3 packs of crackers and a small carton of milk. So I believe next time it would be better to just suffer and try your best than to be put to shame, misery, and treated less than human at this so called hospital.

They called a phone number more than 20 years old which I did not give the doctor and left a message on a machine that I had a doctors appointment. This did not protect my privacy and shared details I did not want shared with people at this number. I felt staff was rude and so worried about privacy when I checked in but about sharing appointment details on an answering machine.

I recently had a stent put in at Abilene Medical Center. My doctor was Robert Leverton and I am very grateful to him. He does excellent work and care. The hospital staff and nurses were very attentive , I couldn t have asked for better care. Thank you all

A week after my stent, I had an emergency visit to the ER, again, I was impressed. They took me right in and took care of me.

Thank you you all so very much, wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy happy new year ahead.

Sincerely

Jean Lang

This is my second time to visit the womens center at Regional.
The ladies at the front, Sherry and the other lady, Were so super sweet and it continued into each patient who arrived after me. These ladies are so amazing and the reason I chose to come back to this location a second time!!!!!!!!!!

I want to shout out a Thank You to all the wonderful caregivers at Abilene Regional Medical Center! The diagnosis ,care and treatment during my stay in the ER/ Hospital for a Pulmonary Embolism was outstanding, professional and compassionate. I m back home now on the mend with a great appreciation for all that took such great care of me....Thank You Again!

The nurses, staff, and doctors here are phenomena...

The nurses, staff, and doctors here are phenomenal. Truly great people.
But who is it that does all of the scheduling, and designates how many nurses can work?
These incredible nurses are spread thin, and working at least 5 people short in every single unit/department.
Because of this some of the most simplistic of surgeries get pushed back an extra 7-8 hours. Thus creating this snowball effect of problems. Pretty ridiculous.
But again. The nurses, staff, and doctors here are truly amazing people.

I visited the ER feeling like I was going to pass ...

I visited the ER feeling like I was going to pass out. I got checked in signed papers by 8:30pm the avg wait time mins you was about 45mins to an hour, I did not get discharged until 4:30 in the morning and did not actually get back to a room until after 10pm sometime. The nurse only checked on me may 2-3 times in that 8 hour time span, I was told I could not have anything to drink as they did not want to see it again because I was nauseous. They took blood work around 10:30-11pm or so and did not get back to me until 4am with results, after that they went on to tell me they basically didn t know what was wrong with me and to follow up with my doctor. This 8 hr period they gave me a bag of saline and some nausea medication in my iv. The fact that nobody seemed to even walk in there to check on me in over 3 hours kind of bothered me....they also did not send all lab work orders to my doctor until 2 days later, they sent half but not the CBC....I don t believe I will visit regional again any time soon, I will stick with Hendrick. Because even though Hendrick gets busy I have never been there I don t think for more than 5 hours. I spent eight hours at regional for them to tell me they did not know what was going and wouldn t you know I more than likely get charged by the hour. I saw people that came in after me leave before me. I don t believe it should ve taken an additional 4-5 hours to get lab results back as I have other health issues I know it does not take that long to get lab results back. They may have been waiting for a urine sample but even then if they were waiting for that nobody came into ask me to try to go again and it still took an additional 2 hours after the urine sample to get results back. Also, one of the main questions a nurse or doctor should ask in my opinion before giving anyone medication is what medications are you currently taking and not one person up there asked what medications I was on.
I don t normally leave reviews ever for places especially doctors as I know things can get hectic, but this was one of the worse experiences I think I ve had at an er and I don t even know that I can come up with the money to cover the bills since they do charge by the hour. Good luck if this is you re only options, if at all possible, I know Hendrick can be a longer wait but it s worth it more in the end than regional.

Husband had a procedure in the outpatient pavillion.(today) We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door. The waiting time was reasonable. The medical staff informed us of what was happening and what to expect step by step They were professional and respectful. Pleased with our visit.

They have managed to totally botch the billing codes for my surgery - coded it as NOT necessary???? So my insurance isn't paying the hospital - how does this even happen - my Doctor/surgeon was paid because THEY CODED CORRECTLY. Trying to call billing becomes your new hobby - expect to be on hold over 20 minutes - or they drop your call. My Doctor says they mis-code often. Don't even get me started on my actual experience - we were told to be there early - We were. We signed in, told four different places we were there waiting and two hours later they called me "SCOLDING ME" for not being there for my surgery - it just got worse from there.

This is the ER with billboards all over town that say 30 minutes. I waited for two hours, in excruciating pain. All the while, two teen girls in the ER lobby played loud music, with profanity, and sang along. A miserable, horrible waiting experience in every respect. The staff were nice and helpful, it just took way too long to get help.

I was absolutely amazed with everything from this ...

I was absolutely amazed with everything from this hospital! Every staff member from registration to pre-op and recovery to the women's floor, are Rock Stars! The nurses in the women's center are all so kind, caring, and compassionate! I have a special Thank You for Missy, Alexis, Stacie, and Jana!! You are each so very special! Thank you! I feel like you treated me like a sister! This hospital really took excellent care of me!

This is ICU during the busy time. Notice no one comes here. There is a reason for that.... This feels like a hospital on the verge of closing. What's the deal? Don't be fooled by the nice exterior of the building the inside is really not that nice. The care is less than mediocre. If there's any way you could go to some other hospital I would strongly recommend it.

I overheard a nurse and a patients family members discussing blacks and how horrible it is to treat us. I overheard my anesthesiologist telling a nurse how upset he was to be at work, because it as supposed to be his day off. Also, I did not see my surgeon after surgery and wasn t even told when my follow up appointment would be, just told to check the paperwork. When I asked about how it went, I was told my surgeon was like a ghost and disappeared right after surgeries. I understand that, but the way it was conveyed was terrible. When I awoke from surgery alone and still groggy, I was immediately told to go ahead and put my clothes on, and that I needed to text me ride to come get me. My husband, was really busy at work at the time and was on his way, but never in my life have I felt pushed out of a care facility. I ve had 7 surgeries and this experience was by far the worst one.

The emergency room at Abilene Regional Medical Center is a joke. I brought my son into the Emergency room for a broken arm and the doctor did not even see him. My son was seen by the PA and the PA tells me (Physicians) are NOT ALLOWED to prescribe pain medication for children under 18.
Avoid this Emergency, if your child has broken anything and is in pain. Do yourself a favor and go to a REAL Emergency room.

Spent a total of 2 1/2 hrs which is NOTHING compared to midland memorial hospital. The staff was friendly and the doctor did great job at finally figuring out what was wrong unlike the idiots in midland.

HORRIBLE!!! this is supposed to be the emergency room for a reason. I was there for more than 2 hours in pain along with many sick children. Plus the desk girls, except for one, where rude and had bad attitudes including one dark heavy man that kept giving people nasty looks. This is a horrible experience to go thru in a hospital when you really need help.

Dr. Mathur and team are excellent
The RNs, SN, admin. and the person who took care of my room were just great. Dr. Feliz was the kindest and so helpful. All in all it was a very good inexperience. Fastest discharge ever. I rate it a big 10.

Was admitted after surgery through the ER. Had several issues from the time we got there, until the next day when I was discharged. From problems with hospital employees to the medical equipment used.. I have always used ARMC, but probably won't from this point on!

Horrible service horrible customer service I can't believe this hospital is currently certified in helping others. Rude and disgraceful medical service. Went in and waited 3 hours before being seen the entire time while my son is crying of abdominal pain.

Wow! All of the negative reviews don't have a clue! I have had nothing but a great experience at this hospital. They care about their patients and their medical staff is the best! I invite those that give it a "one star" to visit the hospital on the North side next time

ER docs are horrible. Couldn t even diagnose a UTI in my elderly grandmother. Sent her home said she was dehydrated and she didn t need an antibiotic. Next day had to rush her to HENDRICK MEDICAL CENTER and she almost didn t make it. Thanks to the GREAT DOCS and staff at HMC they found she had UTI and started her immediately on strong IV antibiotics and other supplements she was low on. Wouldn t recommend Abilene Regional Medical Center to anyone.

Dr. McCain ran my family in a circle. Had my father do test after test just to tell him the same thing when he first saw him. Then picked a fight with me and called me "a little punk kid" when I'm 28. Told us to find another cardiologist. He basically made my Dad get out of the house just to chew us out.

I had previous experience with Abilene Regional when Dr. Leverton saved my father s life many years ago. When l had issues this week, Dr. Leverton was my choice to intervene. I may have ended up at Abilene Regional because of Dr. Leverton s affiliation, but my review goes much deeper. I m not going to say the facility is the most spectacular I ve ever entered, though it was quite satisfactory to me. I judge my stay much like I judge a church. The building may be what is seen by the eye but the quality of a church, and a hospital, is judged by the glow and warmth of the hearts inside. My primary nurses, Jordee, Connie, Kat, and two others that slip my mind right now were super. A special friend was Ella from housekeeping that took time to visit. Ricky from radiology was quite kind carting me around the hospital. The pre-op staff, Cath team, and recovery were great and very professional. I thanked the Cath team for their energy and humor during a stressful time for me. It would be great if no one had to ever end up in a hospital again, but we all know that won t be the case anytime soon. In the meantime, I recommend Abilene Regional for your needs!

ARMC partakes in extensive price gouging. Upon fur...

ARMC partakes in extensive price gouging. Upon further investigation, I realized that Abilene Regional charged me up to 50 times higher than Hendrick Medical did for the same procedures and diagnostic tests.

The treatment at ARMC was standard, nothing special or preeminent about it. It pretty much encompassed a CT scan, two injections of pain killers, blood work, and some IV fluid. Pretty simple and straightforward. Previous to that, I was seen at Hendrick Medical Center on 08/29/2019 for the same exact diagnosis and had almost identical treatment, and equivalent procedures ordered. So, with synonymous procedures and treatment, my total charges for Abilene Regional were $17,508.70 and for Hendrick Medical it was $8,830.57. The only slight difference between the two emergency room s procedures was 2-3 bags of IV fluid at ARMC, which was premeditatedly marked up. That was it. No surgery, no additional tests, no special treatment, nothing.

I was very rudely and heartlessly discarded by their billing department and was told, we don t go over charges, line item by line item, we simply don t have time for that. This was a billing supervisor, by the way. I, then, nicely asked who could go over this price discrepancy with me, and he could not give me a name. I have called and left messages for several different people and departments, to no avail.

This is the reality of how Abilene Regional treats their patients, and someone in that hospital needs to answer to the public as to why ARMC is price gouging their local residents.

Here are a few examples of ARMC's price gouging:

Abilene Regional: CT Scan (Abdominal / Pelvic): $12,230.84 (with contrast)
Hendrick Medical: CT Scan (Abdominal / Pelvic): $4,980.29

Abilene Regional: Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (Bloodwork): $1,381.29
Hendrick Medical: Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (Bloodwork): $454.81

Abilene Regional: Ondansetron HCL Per 1mg (Pain Medicine): $197.84 (50x MORE!!)
Hendrick Medical: Ondansetron HCL Per 1mg (Pain Medicine): $4.00

Abilene Regional: Lipase (Bloodwork): $585.26
Hendrick Medical: Lipase (Bloodwork): $229.14

This is just a few of the line item charges. 99% of the services were substantially more at Abilene Regional, as you can see. I used the Healthcare Bluebook and the Fair Consumer Health website, and ARMC is not even remotely in range for fair health care costs. Consequently, my research suggests that their prices are heavily inflated and unjustifiable. In my opinion, it is completely immoral. There needs to be something done to increase price transparency in order to protect patients from total financial bankruptcy due to a simple ER visit.

Why are hospitals only 10 minutes apart charging such a substantial difference in price? Why is the public not being made aware of this? Had I known this, I would have never stepped foot into that emergency room. Approximately 80% of ARMC's negative reviews, on Google and social media, are solely based on their greed.

So far, I have received an ER physician bill for $2,200.00 and a radiology bill for $300.00. Can someone kindly explain to me why I was charged almost $20,000 (total) for an extremely simple ER visit? What makes your CT scan, pain medicine, and lab work superior to that of Hendrick Medical? How can you justify the vast price difference? Abilene Regional callously overcharges, then makes an "adjustment" to make it appear that they are providing a good deal for patients, when in fact, the total charges are so inflated, that ARMC s adjustment is not even remotely enough to justify the care received. I have no issue paying for fair out-of-pocket health care costs, but my 10/19/2019 visit to Abilene Regional was anything but fair.

Abilene Regional Medical Center has systematically redefined the term, for profit.

Worst experience of my life, from the er to the se...

Worst experience of my life, from the er to the second floor, nurses are rude, untrained, no bed side manners nor do they treat the family any better. I took my 75 yr old mother in to er as per doctor who called ahead. Er staff was confused and said they don't do blood transfusions there, made a call, and did take her back for what they call services. The nightmare then began nurses trying to start an IV more than enough times, mother screaming the whole time, stating the i.v. they had in was hurting, of course they won't listen to a patient no matter what, I as a family member knowing my mom stepped in stated they usually use hand, and that she is in pain you can see it in her face, of course if they don't listen to the patient, they weren't going to listen to a family member. They came to do a CT scan, she told the gentleman that it hurt, I said yes she is hurting but they won't listen. He tried to put fluid but could not get it. He went to get the nurse, who was huffing and puffing like she was annoyed, took the fluid and this also wasn't working so she started to roll the vein as my mother was screaming in pain. The gentleman refused to the scan due to her i.v. someone with common Sense. They made a call and yelled just get her to the floor then. Very rude. My mother was in er from 10am til 10pm with this i.v. hurting her the entire time. The nursing showed no compassion, no sympathy, nor any sort of professionalism at all. They only showed how inexperienced and rude they actually were. So if you value a loved one or perhaps yourself, stay away from this hospital. This was the first part, when she got to the second floor it was no better as far as most of the nurses go. This is a horrible place with most of the nurses just as horrible. For a private hospital, you are better off at Hendricks. Once my mom got to the second floor it got worse. The nurse proceeded to tell me to get a power of attorney done and soon, still no color in her face, and was not being to responsive, the nurse kept bringing up cancer, which to my knowledge my mother was never diagnosed with, so do they know something I wasn't aware of? So the next 4 days these horrible people let me think my mom was so bad off they let me think she was dieing in the very near time.

During my recent stay at Regional the entire staff that tended to me went above and beyond in taking care of my every need .From the doctors to the nurses & dietician I was provided with the best of care and attention. Its a blessing to know there is a hospital nearby that still believes in patient care as top priority. Thank you to all and God bless.

Here visiting and I see this hospital from window of hotel room. Figure I would go see about lunch. Hospitals I have been to have a great selection of food options.
But now I will just go over there from sheer curiosity about the reviews from patients !!
I wondered why I never heard many sirens going to or even coming from that hospital!! This place must be awful for that many negative experiences. Yikes

Dr Cedeno and her nurse Kim are extremely rude. No...

Dr Cedeno and her nurse Kim are extremely rude. Not only will Dr Cedeno not treat you after she s seen you but she allows her nurse Kim to hang up on you. Dr Cedeno will take your money and collect the insurance money while sending you to a specialist. Hmmm, she s an Internal specialist...magine that. My daughter set up an apt was told to have blood work, completed that task, went to her follow up with blood work complete. Dr Cedeno reviewed the results and said your red cell count is low but didnt need to do anything, her Aldl was high to avoid red meats, her tsh-serum .040 with range of .340-4.820 and free T4 1.93 from range .93-1.70, vitamin d low so take a vitamin supplement. She recommended an endocrinologist but would not start her on any thyroid medication yet she s an internal specialist...hmmm...thyroid disease runs in my family...she is recommended to dr Bell, can t be seen until October. She calls dr Cedeno bk nurse tells her she s not giving her medicine she will have to wait to get medicine from endocrinologist and didn t care it wasn t until October. Call is made to dr Bell and instructed to call Cedeno bk and request Meds that Cedeno should start her thyroid Meds and in oct dr bell will evaluate her treatment. Now she calls Cedeno and nurse Kim tells her she lied on her symptoms page, she was busy with patients, didn t have time for her for this and hangs up on her. I met with HR Mgr, Savanah was kind but stated I did not want to start a confrontation. I said I would and I could. I stated I would be calling KTXS, KTAB, Reporter News, go viral. I have contacted Olivia at KTXS. She is interested in consumer story. Admin Mgr Daryl Taylor escorted me to Cedeno s office, there were three women in the lobby, Adriana handed him information requested, I asked who was the nurse Kim that hung up on my daughter and she stood there and waived at me. This infuriated Daryl and he refused for me to visit with Cedeno that I agreed not to make a scene n I said I didn t agree to anything. I apologized said I Would Not say a word and he shoved the papers in my hand and forced me out of the office. He said he was going to investigate but needless to say no phone calls no results no apologies yet I apologized and never did Cedeno call, come out, nothing. A coward who allows her staff to ignore calls, concerns, questions, and hang up on her patients. But that s okay she s collected the co pay and payment from insurance co. Let s see an internal specialist and yet my OB-GYN AND General Practioner manage my thyroid not an endocrinologist. I fear for the patients as this woman is a thief not a Dr but a coward who hides behind her nurses bully behavior. Beware with this abilene regional staff. Chamber of commerce and better business bureau will also be notified.

There seems to be a city battle between hospitals....

There seems to be a city battle between hospitals. I've had great care at Abilene regional hospital or Hendrick hospital. There is an on going issue with billing. Many hospitals and clinics say they accept all sorts of insurance policies, but what the insurance pays for maybe 2 separate issues. I would recommend asking your doctor if the procedure they are getting ready to perform will be accepted or paid for by your insurance policy or whether or not you need to seek a second opinion. There is a derogatory communication between staff members and the hospital which they work, I guarantee that same issue exist within all 3 major hospitals in the area. You will still recieve great medical care here from MRI, to an injection. All these personal have their medical licenses and credentials on the line, don't think for a second they are not giving you their best. There are awesome people at Abilene regional hospital who want to make a difference in your life by making you better. The hospital has a very large facility with many open offices 40-60 vacancy. How and why the owners of Abilene regional hospital is not utilizing full resources is none of my business. From a personal perspective the management of the hospital needs an overhaul but the people who work there, can bring you an awesome experience.
