We having been staying at wilderness condos / cabins for the past 6 years. This was by far the worst stay. Our unit had no warm water the maintenance man was so rude and disrespectful. They relocated us to another cabin and there customer service was so bad. Never again will we come back to wilderness. We come about 3 times a year. Great wolf lodge will be our next stay when we are in the dells. We had never been so mistreated in wilderness.

Great time, not quite as advertised.

Great time, not quite as advertised.

We (myself, wife and son (4)) had a great time. We enjoyed the facilities, swimming, games, lazer tag, mini golf, sky rope course and had a lot of fun. Very reasonable price for the unlimited wrist bands as they are good for your whole stay. Unbeknownst to us they had a portion of the parks closed for repairs and cleaning or something so not all of the water parks and activities were made available which was a bummer. I tried booking online to take advantage of a $50 gift card to spend at the resort but it wouldn't book so i called and was assured they would take care of it but when we arrived they had no note of it and I was left embarrassed as the lady explained she has no idea what I was talking about. No buffets during the week which was a let down too for us. We love buffets. The highlight of our time though was the sky rope course and Mike the attendant who worked there. He got my son to have the best time and to try all of course and my son is pretty scared of everything. He really made our stay very enjoyable. Most of the staff was very nice however he seemed to want to go above and beyond to make sure we had fun and felt safe. So all in all I would have given 5 stars had those few discrepancies not happened and still those discrepancies arent enough to keep me from going back.

This is our 3rd year coming, and we will keep coming. This is a wonderful place to stay. And a lot of things for the kids to do. Our overall experience was great! But... Watch your things, this only happened this week. My Nike sandals were stolen from the wave pool. If you can't afford a $20.00 pair of Nike shoes, how can you afford a trip to the Dells? People amaze me. Yes they are only shoes, but next time could be something more. Don't take any valuables, or leave them unattended.

A water park worth the expense.

A water park worth the expense.
So many things to like:
1. 3 indoor water parks--if one gets crowded, you cam move on. Each park contains water slides.
2. The water is reasonably warm - especially compared to discounted water parks in the Dells
3. Hot tubs are open to all. The main two are indoor/outdoor. Very cool. I was comfortable with -5 F outside.
4. The ropes course and indoor climbing gym are as good as you're going to find. The redemption games are top notch.
5. The food is generally worth the high prices. The best bargain is the waffle cone on the second level of Dodge 'em City.
6. There are places for parents to get warm. Try Klondike Kavern's balcony.
7. Check out the Hurricane boat ride. Everybody screams.
8. If possible, stay in rooms 400s, 500s, 600s; or 2100s, 3100s, 4100s. The place is huge. It is about a half-mile from the check in point to the furthest room, but most are centered around the two major bifurcations.
9. EVERYTHING IS COVERED BY INDOOR WALKWAYS. You don't have to go outside unless you want to.
10. Try the two-bedroom condos with the bunk bed. You're going to spend a lot of money either way. If you have kids, it's completely worth it. Pack a cooler and cook a few meals from your fully operational kitchen.

My family loves the Wilderness! We always a have a great time, rooms are decent, and there is always plenty to enjoy right on the property...especially nice in the winter as we don't bother going off property into the cold.

My husband, a few friends, and I came to this place back in December and the experience way beyond fantastic. The staff were friendly and polite. Our room was clean and well worth the price that we paid.

Terrible service right fron the start. I had to complain about the checkin staff the next day. They have no info about any addons or packages on their website. Very rude about everything I asked. Rooms are run down. Food is bad and expensive. Definitely doesnt feel like a resort. I cant stress enough how bad the service was for what you are paying to stay. Just unacceptable.

Loved staying in one of their lodge villas this past Christmas break. Having bedrooms for my dad, sister my kids and the two of us but sharing a comfy common area was just right. There were 3 bathrooms too! Being able to walk to the indoor waterpark was spectacular. Would go again in a heartbeat!

SCAM: Be warned of the TIMESHARE pitch after you exit the Registration Desk. You know something is up when they run and I mean run you down from across the lobby to offer you some "coupons". Don't listen to the pitch, just say "No thanks!" Registration starts at 12:PM, be prepared for that to take 30 minutes because there is usually a line. If you're a first timer to the resort plan from the time you park till the time you get your toes wet for the first time to take an hour. The complex is huge, so be prepared to walk (for us the waking part was not a concern, for others this will probably discourage them).
Seating: Seating at the outdoor waters parks is an issue, on day 1 we went to 2 of the three outdoor parks and never once found a place to sit and make a spot for ourselves. When we ordered food at one of the parks we had to eat it sitting on the ground because there were no seats (and there were only three of us).
Pros: they do have a large variety of water attractions, the kids kind gravitate to one type or another, at first I was a little concerned, because I got of "this is boring" when trying to introduce my son to different park attractions but eventually he found a few things and then he was all about it.
They did have plenty of rafts for the lazy river, we never had to wait on any of these.
The arcades are a nice touch for the evening after a day of fighting the water, walking between the complexes, and climbing the stairs for the slides. I'm typically not a big fan of eating in the restaurants on site (for any hotel) but we did we did eat at the Lost World outdoor park. We got 2 chicken wraps and a chicken sandwich for $23 but nothing to drink. For park food the portion sizes were good and the taste was pretty good. $6 buys you a small container of dipping dots. Parking is a breeze, we parked about 50 feet from our sliding glass door.
Room: Decent size, TV, Fridge, Microwave are included. There are wall plugs with USB inputs (but they are low power so don't plan on quick charging your IPAD, IPHONE or any USB 2.0 devices.

Cons:
Clearly the TIMESHARE SCAM is a big downer, I will not recommend the Wilderness for that reason alone (not sure if that is common or not for these resorts).
The parks are spread out (it is not so much the walking, but the time it takes to walk that was the problem)
Seating at the outdoor parks is slim to none
Locker Rentals are steep $8 per day
Video Cameras: If you are planning on using your GO PRO or similar waterproof camera on the slides, forget it, they will bust you for that. The only signs bigger than those are the ones that tell you that security will confiscate any outside food or drinks (that includes plastic water bottles)
WIFI: Don't expect wifi to be anything useful. So if you're planning on uploading your vacation photos at night on the hotel's wifi, you can forget that as well, you'd be better off going down to Starbucks about 1/2 mile down the street to do that. (Not related to resort but at least with AT&T there is internet service but don't expect LTE to be reliable or fast).
Room Noise: Granted this place is for families, so don't expect that atmosphere you'd get in a high rise hotel in a major city that has valet parking, but the noise above and between the rooms is pretty bad.

Stayed for a wedding, the wedding was great, the hotel was not. Beds and pillows were horribly uncomfortable, all 3 people in the room came to the same conclusion. Did not check out any of the waterpark facilities, but the room was subpar compared to any other hotel/resort I've stayed in.

We stayed at the wilderness in April for my son's 4th b-day, We always check hotel room beds/sheets and such before we put stuff down. The white sheet the was the top sheet had red blood spots on it. I don't know if it was from a person or bug bites, either way grossed us out. Then when we used the bathroom, there was a clump of long black hair on the floor next to the toilet. I mean I get there is ALOT of rooms to clean in this hotel, but when you pay hundreds a night for a stay you expect the normal things... no human hair laying around, and clean sheets. To bad to because the stay was nice other than the gross room.

One of the indoor water parks was closed for most of our visit. It really made the other water parks feel cramped and overcrowded. Several water slides and attractions were closed too. The potential is there. If all the attractions were open it would of been great. However, our visit was average at best.

Stayed in the Wyndham area was amazing nice rooms was a great place to sleep and relax before having more fun also fun pools indoors and outside and even indoor arcade rooms was a great time there

We just came back today and I wanted to make sure that the memory is as fresh as possible. The waterparks are great, the kids had so much fun, it was a blast to just watch them having a great time. The "Survivor" restaurant had great food and a very friendly staff, even the prices weren't that bad. The "Wild Canyon Cafe" was a terrible experience. The buffet is priced at $19.99 per adult and I would say that it is worth about $5. Most of the items looked like those had been under the heat lamp for hours. The room was nice, spacious and clean. Too bad that the people upstairs were loud, but oh well. Some of the younger staff was walking the short cut through our building and would make walking down the stairs for us hard. They spread out and were simply rude. I believe that most there are on some sort of exchange program. We'll go to the Dells again, it is beautiful there! Not sure if we shall go to the Wilderness Resort, or rather try a different place there.

Sooo let me just start off by saying, I myself work in a hotel. There is always going to be something to complain about! These comments I seen on here, the bad ones, are b.s... this place is great. So much to do. Yea it is expensive but I don't know why people expect things to be cheap... it's not just a hotel it's a resort. Maybe people should look into it more before they book a weekend., and not just that but don't come on here and complain about EVERYTHING. I had not one problem my whole stay! Stuff does happen though I see it all the time at the hotel I work at. People expect the world and you just can't have it. Overall this place is awesome I highly recommend it. Especially for kids.

Rooms are very clean, water parks are great, and staff are very friendly! Only complaint is our check-in was a little confusing, but it all worked out in the end! Would definitely recommend!

Very expensive food. Hotel is run down. If it wasn't for the waterparks no one would stay here. We were here 10 years ago but now is all about the money. Nothing is free. About $20 per person for chicken strips or burgers. More expensive to eat here than Disney. Parking was hard to find 10 years back. Now they've added more attractions and allow non guests to use parks but have added no parking.

Love this resort!! It's amazing. If you're considering a trip to the Dells then stay here it's your one stop shop for everything. You don't have to leave the resort if you don't want too! They have 4 indoor water parks and 5 outdoor (seasonal) many different room and lodging options (some with full kitchens). 5 restaurants and 5 bars plus a swim up bar. The slides are amazing and the kids can play in the children's area while mom and dad ait in the hot tub and can still see them. Plus 3 different coffee shops all serving Starbucks means when you wake the morning after drinking 3 "Greatwaves" (the giant 32oz glass filled with the alcoholic beverage of your choice) you don't have to suffer a hangover without caffeine. Just go - your family won't be dissapointed.

Everywhere I had gone to eat here or get drinks, the servers were rude and unpleasant. Stayed two days and never had this problem before, until now. They acted like it was too much to do their job and be polite. Very disappointed.

The good: Variety and size of water parks was awesome. Had lots of fun and lines were short enough that the kids do not get to antsy. The not so good: Floors in the room were not very clean and no one has cleaned under the beds in probably years. Some areas of the pool were black and possibly moldy? Would I go back... yes and now I know what areas to avoid. Quick tip, get a room on the 3rd floor as the second floor is a highway of foot traffic since it has access to all buildings.

We love visiting this resort. Each time we visit the dells, we come to the wilderness. They have a great selection for our kids and we have a great time as adults. Our room was pretty good. The shower curtain had mold on it, which was disturbing. The rest of the room worked as required.

Super nice rooms at reasonable rates for 2020 year of the Pandemic. Another facility with a well executed plan designed to keep staff and guests safe, as they minimize the capacity of individuals inhabiting available space. Staff is very polite and accommodating. Lots to see and do in the hotel, itself.

Disappointed is an understatement. My husband and I brought our daughter here for an extended weekend. We were told to try the buffet which was only open 2 of our 4 & 1/2 day trip. Over 1/2 the slides ended up being closed, along with 1 entire section of the indoor waterpark. Since "summer" hasn't started the outdoor activities aren't even open. There's sand and debris in the pools and hot tubs, not to mention my husband found a metal shard in the bottom of one of the hot tubs. It's been said that activities are closed due to the lack of guests, but in reality it seems more like under- staffed is more like it. Everything that is advertised is false... glad we spent hundreds of dollars for limited activities. Oh and I almost forgot about the construction that is happening as we speak. The Klondike indoor area now smells of gasoline fumes and there's loud banging on the building; of which patrons had no idea would be taking place. Oh and don't forget to wear a wet suit and water shoes since the bottom of the pools is like gravel, we've seen so many people coming and going from the 1st aid station due to massive scrapes from the pools. Think twice before you stay here. Wish I could give a negative rating.
