The cabins are nice, my brother in law owns a tie share, which is really overpriced. It is cheaper to pay to go. There isn t much to do in the winter and there weren't many activities planned for New Year's, not even a noon or midnight cider toast. We went to the indoor pool which is stained on the bottom. The kifeguardopened the window while we were in there and it was 28 degrees outside but she was hot so she wouldn't close it. We had my nephew with us. He is 7 and he has down syndrome. We asked if we could let him use a kickboard and she said she didn't feel like getting them out. They are in a closet in the pool area. We aren't going back. It just wasn't pleasant.

This place is nice. We stay in the cabins when we visit our family who lives near. They are roomy & some located on the water, but book them early. They also have an indoor pool & nice camping spots. They also have trailers to rent.

I have a membership out there but now it's open to the public. Wheres the benefit to me? They are making improvements but there are alot of run down campsites that people own but they dont make them take care of.

This was my first time here, I came here with my family and I can honestly say it s been an amazing experience. The WiFi isn t the best but it s definitely tolerable and the amenities are great! The cabins are well taken care of, the customer service is awesome as well and the location is beautiful.

This Camp ground lives up to the name Presidential. The staff was professional and courteous. The camp store was well stocked for us forgetful type and the campers so nice. I was blessed to come across a membership for sale and all the above made up my mind to buy in. I can t wait to get a golf cart

23 Years ago my Grandparents purchased a whole lot at this resort in hopes that her family can enjoy it. The family has enjoyed the wilderness so much that my Mother even bought a whole lot. Due to unfortunate events we had to sell my Mother's and now my Grandmother is at a point where she is unable to take care of her property by herself. She has three grandchildren that take care of her and her property and we are not allowed on the resort unless she is present. We are on the deed to the land and one of us are on the title to the trailer. I find that this is a ridiculous rule. PLEASE BE VERY AWARE OF THIS ABSURD RULE IF YOU INTEND TO PURCHASE A WHOLE LOT!! NOT TO MENTION THEY ARE MORE INTERESTED IN THE TIME SHARE PEOPLE THEN THE OWNERS OF THE LAND THAT PAYS DUES EVERY YEAR....REALLY DISGUSTED THAT THEY WOULD TREAT A 77 YEAR OLD WOMEN THIS WAY.

Very upset that though my maintenance fees are paid on time yearly that they still have not repaired the concrete around the frog slide, the grass has not been cut unable to go fishing on the backside of the lake or even if people wanted to play frisbee golf. This is 2 weeks in a row

Always relaxing. Only problem was a couple across from us
partied till 3 in the morning. Alot of drinking and music loud enough to keep everybody awake. No consideration for others. Reported it but nothing done.

A bit far off the beaten path so to speak, but blessed free of the noise of the world as a result. The staff were extremely friendly, informative, and helpful. The cabins were modest looking, but the inside was perfectly appointed, included a full kitchen, and had separate upstairs master bedroom, with downstairs secondary bedroom. The putt putt golf was basic but cheap and made for a great quick activity for the kids. The resort has a private pool, and larger community pool that is open to outsiders and campground residents. The lifeguards were polite and professional. Had trouble getting cell service by the cabins, but wifi is everywhere. This would be a great choice for history buffs who want to be in the thick of civil war historical locations. Potential guests who get car sickness, might want to take medication when traveling here, as the surrounding countryside and roads are quite hilly with sharp turns.

A wonderful get away with our family. The cabins are spacious and cosy while the trailers are accommodating for small families. There are activities as well as many playgrounds and a indoor pool, there are outdoor ones too but out of season, to keep you entertained on the grounds alone. Also, the close proximity to Fredericksburg and it's many options to food, entertainment, and shopping that makes a trip to Wilderness even more entertaining.

I love this campground. Quiet& family friendly. There are no drunk teenagers running around on four wheelers. Although you will get an occasionally friendly tipsy hello from the a leasirley golf cart .It has two lakes for kayaking canoeing or paddle boating, and of course fishing. (No gas powered motors allowed) Jackson's pond is a great fishing hole where you can catch perch all day long. They also have fitness trails and the newly renovated bathrooms are clean and full of hot water. You can also do extras like the adventure course with an aerial zipline. Putt-Putt golf. Climbing wall etc.. If you visit, there are two civil war battlefield Parks, with the campground situated in between. Both are well menagef, and have beautiful , educational, hiking trails and driving options.

We stayed in the cabins located at the resort. If you are looking for peace and quiet (and no cell service) this is the place for you. Close to numerous historical sites and easy access to D.C. via the VRE in Fredericksburg.

The cabins are functional with cable TV and WiFi. They could use a bit of maintenance (screens with holes). We had a nice quiet week here.

There does seem to be an issue with excessive noise on weekend nights by a couple of the cabins. Other than that we had a nice quiet week here.

Avoid, Like your life depends on it. How they received a 4 star rating is unbelievable. The name is somewhat fitting. Wilderness Presidential Resort. WILDERNESS it is, PRESIDENTIAL it is not. The security don't even come out the shack to address you as you pull up to the site. They don't escort you to your site after hours. The roads to get to the sites are narrow, and filled with debris ,trees in the road and hanging over the roads as though a storm happened and they never cleaned up. Paid for a site with water and electricity; got a small unkempt sight with electric and no water. On different sites it states that they offer internet, but not in the areas for RVing. You are better off staying in a Walmart parking lot. The worst campsite I have ever stayed in, never again. Cheaper is definitely not the best way staying here.

I booked one of the lake side cottages with a hot tub a month in advance. Apparently they were having complications with the unit so they upgraded us to one of the larger cabins (no hot tub, just a jacuzzi tub that my 6'3 husband doesn't fit in) which was very nice. However, we had NO knowledge of this until we ARRIVED. We got there after normal business hours so it was only security there and they were very nice and told me that they unfortunately don't have any detailed info as to why we were in a cabin, instead of a cottage, and to call the office in the morning. When I called in the morning the woman I spoke to was very passive aggressive and kept cutting me off. I worked retail for 5 years and I know people can be a nightmare so I make a point to NOT be one of those people so the rudeness was unwarranted. I was very happy with the cabin they upgraded us to I just was not happy that no one told us about the complications before our arrival and that they were rude when I tried to find out what happened. I would be willing to go again

It just feels like home. Some of the sites l could use some upkeep and the tent sites are not in the best condition but stay near the water and enjoy a safe, family friendly community that is super welcoming.

Many, many people live here in their old trailers for a resort. There is plenty of shade and trees in the camping/trailer areas otherwise it's just a big open area with no trees for shade elsewhere from the sun and it gets really hot.

Great resort for fishing, relaxing lakeside, and being outdoors enjoying the wildlife and weather. Pools stay over crowded in the summer!! Resort owner must be present to enter pool area Cabins need upgrade. No handicap units available and not enough supplies given for long stays. I will not return to this resort

When I made the reservation I was told that we had a cabin. When we arrived, we were told that we didn't have a cabin, we reserved what used to be the trailers. Other than that discrepancy, we had a restful stay.

Adventure course was a lot of fun, my daughter and her friends enjoyed it as part of a birthday celebration. We did have to wait a bit as then closing for lunch wasn't mentioned anywhere. We enjoyed the rock wall too.

Good

Absolutely love this place! I've been coming here ever since I was in my mum's tummy and I'm now in my 40's. The reservations department is always super friendly. I've stayed in RV's, Cottages & Cabins and sincerely have had such a great time with cherished memories. Had a little snag with a young fella that provided erroneous information pertaining to Jon boat rentals in recreation but we are human and mistakes can be made. Thankfully I spoke with Lindsay who was super patient with my questions and even went above and beyond a reconfirmed my inquiry/dispute with one of the directors. This to me is super important and really appreciate the detail to customer service. Thank you Wilderness Presidential Staff for always providing the best possible accommodations and service.

These are updated cabins with a loft master suite. Very large greatroom with large dining table. Private, very clean. You like the woods? This is your place. Bring your own hairdryers & shampoos.Small closet with stacked washer & dryer. Large bathrooms. Kitchen is stocked with essentials for 6. Minimalistic private get away to spend time with friends & family. It's winter & covid so we haven t used the outside activities. 15 minutes to all the shops. We will be back in better weather.

Lodging was horrible trash all over campsites, old furnishings that needed to be replaced. The amenities of the grounds were fun and employees were nice otherwise rating would have been lower. Possibly the cabins were nicer than vintage RV's but I will not return to chance it.

The cabins in the back are awesome, loaded with many nice amenities. The porch grill was put to good use, and leaving laundry and dish soap was very nice as well. I went during fall, when the leaves were changing color, so that is the only season I can review this for.

They also have lots of boats and other things to use during the warmer months. Will be going back to see what the rest of the year has to offer.

I hated this place.

I hated this place.
Worst RV park I've ever visited.
Everything was run down. It sucked.
