Our family visited here last summer and we really had a great time. We were able to rent a nice cozy and clean RV Trailer (which was at a great price with a working stove, cooking ware, bathroom, clean beds, a couch, and table. No TV and slow internet service which I loved) right next to the lake which was absolutely beautiful. I mean you could literally wake up, walk out the front door, walk maybe 7 steps and the lake was right there. (However, you would not want to swim in this part. But, there were parts you could swim in that were sectioned off.) The part of the lake we were at was a great place for fishing. Secondly, the gym, pool, beach, row and paddle boats were awesome as well. It was impressive to see how the resort always had some type of event going on. When we went, my son and I accidentally got ourselves in a 3 on 3 basketball tournament which was really fun. Then we were able to meet up with the rest of the family for some fun in the pool. The next day they had a carnival and other competitions. Then, they had a huge bonfire for all the resort residents. It was so much to do. When we left, all I could think about was going back next summer. The two issues I had was the staff being mostly kids. Sometimes you want to ask an adult a couple of questions and sometimes talking to the teens (who were really nice) just did not feel reassuring. Also, they have a lounge area for adults which was really boring and wasn't much going on in there at all. But, I suppose you don't go there for the customer service or a lounge area. You go to camp and have as little distractions from your family as possible. So my advice would be check out the website to see what events they have going on and bring a lot of snacks. (Although, they do have a really nice store with camping food and also fishing bait) I think it really brought our family closer together and my teens can't wait to get back there as well! Can't say enough about how much I enjoyed this place.

I love that you can have fun here but it seems it isn't really the way I described it to my customers as a place where your kids could be safe riding bikes, hiking, fishing and swimming unless you have an 18 year old to supervise at all times.

Nice place to stay. Has some issues with old equipment and cabins. Was quick to fix any glaring issues and has a 24/7 security service. Has a gas fireplace inside and gas grill outside. Our cabin was fully furnished. Had everything we needed except food.

Becky or Robin - what a terrible experience, that started at check-in set by a raging imbalanced women. My wife seems to think race was a factor in our terrible treatment, I'm not sure, I will only speak on the treatment we received at check in and the lack of help, and told that we wouldn't be able to check in that night because our flight came in late, merely as we walked up to check-in. WOW, after a long day of traveling, the front desk just starts right in with attitude and not the slightest inkling of even an attempt to offer some help, just "well it's late and you're probably not going to be able to check-in tonight." So it's easy to understand why my wife deducted that it must be a racial issue. who knows, the gal coulda just been having a bad day, but if you're in the hospitality industry, it's best to not pass along that terrible day to your "guests." Anyways, I am not a frequent writer of reviews, but this "lady's" horrendous attitude begged my efforts to bother even posting all this. Normally I move right along with things, but hopefully this is a word to the wise, though you have limited interaction with the administration, it makes it a pretty unpleasant stay, considering you're a ways out in the woods and you'll likely need the assistance of the staff in 1 form or another. We totally wrote off the entire resort based on her handling, as it was just that bad, felt totally unwanted and wanted to make sure we did not give any more patronage to any of the facilities than we had already booked. I would never waste my money on supporting such a business ever again!

Stopped there earlier today to check to see what there rates are and see if we can take a tour of the place after waiting for the person in front of us to finish there have been about 3-5 minutes which was not problem at all for us, the security guard comes from the gate which was about 50-75 yards away to tell me that I'm not allowed to carry my firearm in the place when the only sticker on the door was no pets so we will never be staying at this camp site ever since they expect all the sheep to be unprotected when the wolves don't care who says what. I will go somewhere else that respects me.

I like it because it is quiet. You feel away but are in a short drive to a shopping center. Plus for me, not far from home. It is not fancy and could use some renovation to update the interior of the cabins. Been the same since the 90s. Size may be small to some but is ok for me. I have an infant. Internet kept going out during my recent stay.. Bandwidth sucked. However, for me it just works. I like cabins. Only thing missing for me are mountains surrounding it.

Stayed here for the weekend and the Cottage was cozy, clean and immaculate. We enjoyed the ducks quaking, the use of the BBQ pit, indoor pool, scenery and atmosphere. Everything was in order, nicely put and staff, security, front desk and housekeeping were all very helpful. Thanks for providing us with a safe and peaceful visit.

This review is solely on the adventure park rope climbing bridge and rock wall outside of the main resort. We have never used the resort. We live nearby and my daughter loves both of these adventures. They are reasonably priced and well challenged fun.

The mini golf course is really cheap but is in desperate need of a makeover.

We stayed here over the President's Day/Valentine's Day weekend in on of the lakeview camp cottages. Check-ins are currently occuring at the window to the left of the main office. It was pretty painless and we were on our way onto the main property and down to our cabin in 10-15 min. The property is huge so make sure you have the provided and marked map and follow the route. Each little cabin has space for about 2-3 cars right next to it. And a paved path up to the porch. Once inside the living/kitchen/dining area up front and despite the outside chill it was nice and toasty. Good room for unloading all your stuff before settling in. The kitchen has a full size range and a apartment size fridge along with a microwave/vent hood. There is a couch and a 4 stool table. In the center section of the cabin is the bathroom with stand up shower, toilet, sink and then the 2 bunk setup. They is followed by the door to the small but adequate master bedroom with a queen bed, dresser, and night stand. Keep in mind when you arrive the master will be cold or hot depending on the season and you will need to run the wall exhaust fan to pull air through. There is also a ceiling fan. We loved the fire pit that we used every night (make sure to bring plenty of wood) and even used to cook burgers over one evening. For us it has snowed the day before we arrived and while the roads were well cleared everything was covered in snow across the property making it so beautiful and peaceful. We got up at sunrise on Saturday to walk around the property and enjoy the quiet. Overall everything seems to be well kept up and was very clean and cozy. The only downsides and why I gave it only 4 stars was the bed is not the most comfortable and at night the air compressor for the hvac is just outside of the window and even as heavy of a sleeper as I am it sounded like it was in our room. Despite this I definitely recommend this place especially for the very fair pricing.

We had a membership for years and now we own, great place to get away and enjoy family and friends but opening to the public was a big mistake, over crowded pools, theft, trashing the play grounds and other areas, and speeding down the roads, is just a few of the issues I have noticed since public came in. Not sure it s its going to get better in the future, just be aware of theses things and watch your children playing about if you visit.

This place is absolutely disgusting. And the worst that people that are working over there are liars. They are signing you up by lying that they are selling a piece of land to you. They making it look like it is good deal, but it is just a scam. Just to steal money from you and your family. And if you are not paying to that Mafia, they will take you to the court and make you to pay because now you became a slave of their. So they will still your money anyway. I hope that Mafia will be shut down very soon, and they will stop torturing people by stealing money from poor people.

Beautiful and rustic ambiance on historic Civil War Battleground. Grounds appeared well maintained. Pool was 89 degrees during our March visit. Although cottages are wonderfully appointed with full kitchen, 2 baths, fireplace, 3 bedrooms and more, we had to cut our visit short when power lines were knocked out due to high winds. Hopefully generators are a planned update to such a wonderful place to retreat.

Miserable experience. Air Conditioning didn't work as advertised. To make matters worst there were no screens on the windows so we could open as suggested by the staff. After 3 PM, in terms of service the place is a ghost town. The only person that showed was a nice security guy who brought us box fans. We did have to call multiple times before some one would show. There was some stick substance on the floor of the "cleaned room" and the bed backboard was broken from the wall making sleeping ever more difficult in the overly hot room.

This was my first time here, although we had a great time. I think it's a little out dated. The arcade games were broken, so the kids spent most of their time in the gym or pool. The shower in our trailer was broke it was leaking water in the boys room soaking all their clothes. I think they should do a better job with the place if they're going to charge so much but over all we made the best time out of it.

My family has been coming here for over 20 years. The best thing about this place is the memories i have fishing with my grandfather , there are civil war trails near by if your into that thing. I would gladly have given a 5 of 5 but the place has kinda lost its charm. Kinda wish they would fix it up a bit. Its nice that it hasn't changed in the past 20 years, but thats its drawback as well. The cabins are nice :) my favorite time to go is halloween ! Plenty of stuff for kids to do! Haunted house! Ceramics! Hayride! Costume contest!

This is not a resort, this is a trailer park with golf carts. Half the permanent campers look like meth labs and the entire place is ran by 17 year olds and incapable staff. My camp site breaker tripped about 100 times and staff were no help in fixing. I dont mind the redneck partying atmosphere but at least lose the dingy campers and sketch residents living here for only $500 a year maintenance fees. The new bath houses however are very nice. They have alot of playgrounds if u can dodge the people drinking & driving the golf carts everywhere.

It was our first time there and we had a great time. We mainly fished but also walked the nature trail and did the adventure course. They also have indoor and outdoor pools, plenty of activities for kids, outdoor movies and a store on the campground.

The scenery was absolutely amazing. It rained our first day so we enjoyed a day of shopping. The resort location is in the middle of anything that you need. From Walmart, Dollar Tree and Malls. The next day was full of scheduled activities. My children were skeptical about the stay due to lack of internet and a television. We had a wonderful bonding experience and they are excited to come back. I HAVE to express and commend the staff at the Adventure Park. The patience and courtesy was very impressive. Thank you.. Thank you and Thank you all. I cant wait to return.

We absolutely loved our stay at this resort for our Valentine's Day getaway. The cabin was very cozy and that made the stay even more romantic. There is lots to do there. There is a huge lake for fishing and canoeing. They have a small beach area. There is an indoor pool area as well as multiple outdoor pool areas. Plenty of playgrounds for kids. They have an area for RVs as well. There is a wilderness store as well as a recreational center. It's a reasonably priced resort and for those in the Military you can use the Armed Forces vacation club weekly discount package here.

Enjoyed our stay. All staff were courteous and welcoming. We stayed in a cabin that was nicely furnished and clean. One will need to bring power strips to charge electronics though.

You will not get cellphone service, however local and long distance calls are included on the landline. WiFi is provided and amazingly fast.

Plenty of recreation options, be sure to try the mini golf.

The pools were well kept, clean and while the life guards are young, very courteous and attentive. I was thankful one of the pools is only 4 at its deepest and perfect for smaller children.

You do get what you pay for, and it's worth it.
