Wilderness Presidential Resort Reviews

This is not a resort, this is a trailer park with golf carts. Half the permanent campers look like meth labs and the entire place is ran by 17 year olds and incapable staff. My camp site breaker tripped about 100 times and staff were no help in fixing. I dont mind the redneck partying atmosphere but at least lose the dingy campers and sketch residents living here for only $500 a year maintenance fees. The new bath houses however are very nice. They have alot of playgrounds if u can dodge the people drinking & driving the golf carts everywhere.

We have enjoyed this resort for 12 years. We have used the camping lots, the rental park models and the cabins.

Great value and place for family and family activities.

Has gone downhill since becoming open to the public, roving groups of teens sneaking on to camp sites and "borrowing" bikes and camping equipment in the middle of the night. Nice lakes for fishing, kayaking.

Rented a park model at the wilderness for the weekend had a great time

If you plan on cooking for more than one you need to bring additional cookware.

Great place to spend a week, really enjoyed the resort.

The cabins were nice. The only problem we had was when the light went out due to high winds and rain our electricity went out and we got a small winding light that was impossible to see anything inside the cabin, the flash lights were also dim and needed batteries. The electricity were out from 8PM to 8AM.

Bought a place at Wilderness a year ago with my son and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Love going there to relax and hang out with my family. Have met so many wonderful people since becoming part of the "Wilderness Family."

I go every year with my family if is the best campground in the world so many fun activities to do you dont have to worry about your kids at all I would recommend this place to everybody

Great location for visiting the area especially Washington and civil war area. We had a log cabin. Clean, well equipped, gym swimming pools and lots of activities.

Nice location next to water very calming. But the new cabins are a little to close to your neighbor (for me)

Easy getaway from DC area. Kids loved fishing, escape room and archery lesson. We weren't told about making an adventure course reservation online in advance so we were unable to enjoy it. The cabin was efficient and clean (though dated and in need of updates/repairs). The staff were friendly but didn't enforce mask wearing for guests in the gym. Staff were NOT wearing masks at the general store.

We enjoyed our week in a cozy cabin in the woods. The cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed. Beds and pillows be upgraded though. Club house and gym facility was very dated. They seemed to have lots of activities planned, though we didn't do any of them. Mini golf was fun.

Great place for family an friends, just wish the security n cameras were more observable to catch the thief's stealing golf carts, it's gotten out of hand sence they allow just about every one into our get away place!

I loves loves loves this place. This is my family vacation spot, I grew up here and now my son has the chance to as well.. The staff is nice and sweet, the activities are amazing and the pools are beautiful.. Plus they have a gym, fitness room, and a little beach definitely a plus for me

I visited about twelve years ago and I really enjoyed myself. I'm thinking about vacationing there this summer.

It has been 20 years since I visited. It had more lots that were owned which seem unkempt and warn. It was the beginning of the season so everything was not open yet. Staff was nice and helpful. There are less lots on the lakes. Additions like the indoor pool were nice. Restrooms were clean. Some of the roads are poorly maintained. Over all it was not bad. They appeared to be making an effort to follow social distancing. We will see once the season is in full swing.

Quiet, restful, yet not far from home. We were there in early November, definitely the "off" season. A number of the on-site amenities were closed for that reason, but the majority of this are things that don't interest us anyway. We are MUCH more interested in uncrowded quiet areas. Besides, there are a lot of things to see and do in the surrounding area - especially if you are interested in the history of the US Civil War. (Not that I am, except for a general interest in history in general.)

Relax & rest or just enjoy the the time & explore, have fun, etc

Celebrating 4th of July! Tons of activities!! Pool, beach, gym, clubhouse! Despite the rain we are STILL having a blast!

Member,raised kids here.Power systems are old and unreliable. Reported maintenance such as broken seats in showers are ignored.Still fun Gym,2 lakes,3 pools.Pleasant but old.Upgrades are geared for rentals to nonmembers.

Absolutely horrible! Thought it would be nice and quiet but there were parties every night and the security refused to do anything until after midnight.

Love love love this place!! Very nice place to just get away for the weekend. They have very reasonable prices on the cabins!! If you have kids there is always lots for them to do!! I'd buy a camper and become a member to be there every weekend if I could!!

I love this resort! My family comes here every year and we always have a good time. If you plan to come down here try and get one of the newer cabins, they are very cozy. The pools are great and it's a lot of out door activities to do. Highly recommend coming!

We stayed in the cabins located at the resort. If you are looking for peace and quiet (and no cell service) this is the place for you. Close to numerous historical sites and easy access to D.C. via the VRE in Fredericksburg.

The cabins are functional with cable TV and WiFi. They could use a bit of maintenance (screens with holes). We had a nice quiet week here.

There does seem to be an issue with excessive noise on weekend nights by a couple of the cabins. Other than that we had a nice quiet week here.

Lousy Coast to Coast set-asides. Until this improves we won't come back. It's to bad because it's in the perfect place for us and we would love to stay here.

Even though I was out off shape but I had a great time at the location. The staff was great and knowledgeable! I'm sure that I'll do it again and recommend it to anyone that could get to it.

This is our family all time favorite for over 20 years and its fun for all ages. The cabins and campers are always very clean when we arrive and the staff are very quick to help you. There is a gym, 3 swimming pools, play grounds, mini golf and so much more to do while you visit.

If you have a time share here.. not sure about getting in any other way.. also one the few Miniature Golf places in the area.. nice

We have become members but I would love to love there! Fun stuff to do.. Great pools, activities, cabins, trailers to rent, etc. Playgrounds are fun too

I had a great time with my family here. It's really a relaxing and beautiful place. If you like the outdoors, swimming, activities and so much more this is the place to bring your family. I'm so happy we are going back again this summer. Looking forward to bbq by the lake, spending time with family and meeting new people. See you soon

We love it here but we do wish that would do something about the leaves at the end of winter. We literally have almost 4 feet of leaves in our lot and have been raking them for 2 days to have room for our chairs and coolers

The resort features picturesque landscape and beautiful natural vistas. Nature buffs will absolutely love the walking and biking trails, stocked ponds for fishing, a marina for boating and kayaking, etc. The resort also boasts a fitness room, indoor basketball court, two swimming pools, picnic areas with access to electricity and grills! A beautiful air conditioned club house for watching tv or listening to music or dancing on the dance floor! So much to do in one place!

Always a great place to stay for rest and relaxation. Great for the entire family anytime of the year. It's peaceful and there are plenty of places to go just outside of the resort for dining and entertainment.

Nice wooded campground. Lots of full timers with little or no oversite on maintenance or condition of owned parcels. Massive grounds, long distances from main road. No internet other than by store. No one around to quite down loud and obnoxious campers after hours. It went on way after hours.

My family has been coming here for over 20 years. The best thing about this place is the memories i have fishing with my grandfather , there are civil war trails near by if your into that thing. I would gladly have given a 5 of 5 but the place has kinda lost its charm. Kinda wish they would fix it up a bit. Its nice that it hasn't changed in the past 20 years, but thats its drawback as well. The cabins are nice :) my favorite time to go is halloween ! Plenty of stuff for kids to do! Haunted house! Ceramics! Hayride! Costume contest!

Spacious, quiet, relaxing and not really outside, the best glam camping

Really nice place for a get away! We truly had a nice Christmas 2020! We plan on returning in the spring.

Great local spot for a climbing adventure. The course is small compared to big companies like Go Ape, but the price is great. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Will definitely go again.

Great place to take friends and family during any season of the year. Family-oriented and a safe environment for your children with lots of fun things to do!
