Hello,

Hello,

I called yesterday for Irene Murro and Karina needed to screen the call. What is she doing?! The conversation goes:

Whittier First Day how can I help you?!
Hi Karina is this is Charmaine is Irene available?!
Let me check what is this regarding?!
Is she there?! I need to speak to her?!
What is this regarding?!
If she s there I d like to speak with her?!
What is it regarding?!
Is she in a meeting?! You know what just let her know I m working on my Police Academy training and Victoria s Secret is assessing me for clothes.
Let me check and put you on a brief hold.
I hung up.

Can you understand my frustration. I just needed to know if Irene is available or not I didn t need the run-a-rounds. Does she not know how to properly answer a call?! It s very frustrating calling there when I have to call. Irene still has my 22 page report. I need to check in/follow up. Can someone else handle the phone calls?! She just seems very inadequate. A proper answer would simply be:

Hello, Whittier First Day how can I direct your call?!
Is Irene available?!
Let me check. May I ask who s calling?!
Receptionist checks.
I ll be transferring you now. Thank you.
Or can someone else assist you?!

Please I hope the proper corrections can be made accordingly.

Thank you for your time.
Charmaine/Dr. Charmaine M. Smith

I have been calling for a week already! I was referred to this website for assistance and shelter. All of the numbers that you call have you on eternal hold. I am working but calling for someone that does not have a phone and has been experiencing homelessness and is tired of being on the streets. It is extremely frustrating to try to help someone and call all these numbers and you can easily be on hold for an hour! It's absolutely rediculous. As a matter of fact, I am on hold yet another time and have been holding for 30 minutes already! I am starting to think this place doesn't really have these resources.

The staff at Whittier first day are very kind and loving people who work tirelessly day in and day out, to make the lives of our homeless neighbors in Whittier and it s surrounding communities better. They work creatively and collaboratively to find resources in a resourceless world. They fight the good fight to find housing and more appropriate locations for humans to live with dignity. Thanks for taking on the most important of all causes- caring for humanity.

The staff is very polite and humor my persistent request of beads when I am there. A leisure of spare time to be had there is recommended. The color coordinated clothing makes it a simple task to select something of likeness. However, people with colorblindness my not agree.

We love Karina! The hardest job is to hold down the fort. She is always on cue. She has great integrity and follow through on tasks. She is a very professional worker. Compassionate and caring. Knows what it takes to service the public.

Still waiting for my 'navigator' to call, been months now. No beds available as usual. Update 09/04/2019: months have now went by and this place still has not contacted me by phone or email as promised. Where is my 'navigator'??

This place is awful! They don't do much for you. The people that work there are horrible & if you are from a hospital like Presbiterian intercommunity hospital or any other hospital. Good luck couse they don't care if you have a doctors note. You still have to be out by 8am to 3pm. Most of the employees are homeless & live there. It's a terrible place to stay. You are better off in a tent outside.

Even though the virus is going around and has everybody freaked outto where the facility is technically on a lockdown I think they could still be able to offer the resources that they were doing before the virus because I killed myself I need to get a new ID at the DMV and I can't afford it so I asked you for a voucher so I can get it for free like they have done in the past before but we go to the whole class and they don't do anything like that anymore or offer The clothes closet so you get some clothes or whatever I think they could still offer that and the resources that they were doing before the virus

I was born and raised here until I was 25 and I left with a wife and 4 Kids they're grown up and and I work in aviation in Colorado and supporting my kids the whole entire time with no outside help and I'm very proud of that on their own and doing well so I heard that right to go anywhere I want to go and this is where I want to be
