Great place just wished I lived in Plymouth to enjoy more of it.

Great location and massive amount of machines in the gym. Staff very helpful. Swimming pool could be very busy during the weekends, same with the gym.

Pool - Great 50m long and a fun area and a diving area great place to swim.

The pool is lovely. I'd advise booking in advance to guarantee getting into the toddler pool. The cafe is rather rubbish IMO

Eleonora Shishmanova is the best yoga teacher in Plymouth. I use go to the Life Centre mainly because of yoga classes taught by Eleonora.

Also, the gym is pretty new, refurbished couple years ago.

There is only one downside. That sauna and the steaming room do not have direct access to the swimming pools which are located on the ground floor.. but sauna and steam room are located by the gym in the second floor..
Besides that everything else is brilliant.

The Swimming timetable online is horrendous. Never correct, never updated and not a user friendly site at all. Whoever created it had the IT skills of a chimp.

No one ever answers the phones and it is the only way to book activities such as trampolining. My brother actually did get through and when he spoke to reception they told him there was no need to book. He made a trip with his 4 year old from Tavistock and upon arrival was informed that it was fully booked and there was nothing they could do. Shocking customer service!

Life centre is absolutely diabolical. The receptionists have no idea what they are doing, are incompetent and unorganized. The website is lacking information and I have been calling for almost 10minutes to find out how much it is to hire some squash racquets.

Great Climbing and bouldering facilities, very good price. Really enjoyed my time here and the routes were varying from easy to challenging all the ratings clear, would come back.
Pool was really good for a swim as well as a slide and water features in the kids pool.

My daughters love the pool at the centre and always have a good time. The changing areas however are generally disgusting!!!
It is a busy place so more cleaners are obviously needed, just seems the management controls are poor.

The equipment is good the price is good but it just far to small for the amount of people who use it

It's a nice area to swim at, and the walk there is good exercise from city centre. I like that it offers free swimming times for uni students. I'm a little unsettled about cameras in their changing areas. With their angles they could see into some cubicle areas. Possibly their corners. I'd be careful.

Really well laid out. We went for a specific event so didn't see much of the place

Daughter has swimming lessons here and loves them, we use the children's pool a lot and never had any problems, tricky parking when Argyll are playing at home.

Good complex, modern design upto date modern equipment.

Don't go if you're looking for a fun activity (swimming)

I am a fan of the life center and go there regularly but, however my daughter and her friend went to the life center as a treat.my daughter and her friend were jumping into the pool for fun ,but they were approached by a lifeguard in fact 2 one was quite polite and said "Sorry, no jumping in because the younger children might see and copy", but the other one said "No jumping!" Literally shouting at kids. So, as my daughter would, went and checked the rules that are on the wall but, they only said No bombing no diving... But it didn't say anything along the lines of 'no jumping' I singled out the jumping related rules there are a few more but not jumping related I am shocked that they got into trouble when its not on the rules.I do give it 4 star because great facilities and a whole load of fun.

Great sports and leisure centre with everything you need from Olympic sized seimming and diving pools to fully equipped gym, plenty of classes, 3 sports halls and much more. Great annual memberships rates

This place is amazing, lots of facilities. However, its rarely clean ( swimming area) and it could do with a new lick of paint. They could also get new lockers for the centre since the new pound coins have come into play and they havent. Overall they need to improve the facility and customer service for it to be the best it was.

I only use the pool and am more than happy with it. The water quality is great and the price for the lessons and free swims around my lessons is good.

Go for a treat cake and luxury hot chocolate good price nice treat

This is a great place with a pool, gym, bowling green, sports hall, cafe, changing rooms and a studio.

Nice place with lots of facilites to choose from used very much by the local primary and secondary schools!

Doesn't look too promising from the outside- looking like a survivor of the 1940s Blitz - but inside it has great facilities and a fantastic Olympic sized pool, fun pool and diving pool. Also climbing walls and courts - reasonably clean changing village area ok - showers a bit sad, no costume centrifuge spinner but otherwise ok and clean. Budget version of the Aquatic centre in Stratford

Good facilities but it is dirty. No doubt it can be better maintained.

Excellent facilities and good range of exercise classes available. Creche staff friendly and professional. Swimming changing areas could do with some general maintenance and tlc

I was always a fan of the Life Centre .It is a fantastic venue and sorely needed. But today everything changed.
I am a Diabetic Type two Diet/Tablet controlled . This means that I have to take regular tablets usually with water in which I dissolve the tablets . I usually use warm water as the dissolve faster. I asked at the Cafe for a small glass of warm water about a centimeter in depth.
I was CHARGED 50p for the pleasure. I was flabbergasted apparently it is a Mandatory charge .The girl behind the counter insisted I pay first . Her attitude was not shall we say Customer focused.
She lost my Custom as I was about to pay for another Coffee as well.
Never Again.

Used to be a really good female coach on the weekends doing trampolining but haven't seen here in a while. Kids loved it.

My kids have been having swimming lessons the staff are brilliant

Terrible service, sent 2 enquiries, each time submitted correctly. On the 3rd enquiry I got a call back finally. Very passive aggressive response, calling me a liar! Then patronising about next steps! Not the customer service I would expect from anyone. They are fine when you want to join, different story when you want to leave!

Worse swimming pool I'm ever been and Oslo staff is just useless not professional

In the years I've been going here, I have never ever been able to find out what I need on the website. I have never ever had anyone pick up and answer the phone when I ring to make an enquiry, you have to create an account and log in just to ask a question via Contact on the website. Very poor customer service.

Poor management. Unable to resolve a complaint. Instead of a simple fix offered a cancellation of membership. Provided awful alternative to the gym during works and failed to provide a refund or voucher as stated in the terms and conditions. Why enter a contract if they don't stick too it.

Love playing badminton here at no strings badminton twice a week

Staff are really helpful and the adult gentle swim is nice and quiet in the evenings.

Really enjoy the classes at the Life Centre, what let's it down is the state of the place, at 6am the dry side changing rooms are filthy, most of the time the soap dispensers are empty.
The large lockers in the main corridor are almost completely full at all times which makes it difficult for me at times as I carry too much kit for a small locker, these lockers are locked at ALL times, surely there are security issues to think of here??
I have had a meeting about this and nothing has been done, not impressed!!

Decent enough pool but not a great experience with a 2 year old.
Firstly the "life guard" took the foam noodle away from my 2 year old, claiming it was needed for a class only for a pile of about 10 to be left at pool side. Then she gave one to another family! When I questioned her, she stuttered, clearly telling a fib when she replied that family brought their own". Not cool!
And secondly the changing village is bloody filthy and freezing cold, not nice for a little wet toodler!
I'll stick with the China Fleet thanks.

What a great place, My first time here I came here with my granddaughter for a bowls competition so impressed can't wait to come back.

Great facility, but the staff are useless. Don't expect them to answer a phone, and don't expect them to know the answer to any questions - even how much classes cost! What is the point of them being there?

Sports hall, squash courts, climbing wall, cafe and swimming. Dance and gym too

Fantastic facilities. 50m pool, 25m pool, diving and kids pool. Lots of activities for the kids too.

Very good swimming pools for competitive and recreational swimming. Good cafe and lots of other leisure activities catered for. Excellent and free car parking

Swimming pool is badly managed...
They keep half of it closed not realising that people prefer some "privacy" - meaning that I rather swim in my own lane than share it with somebody if I don't have to. And just because there is no "guard" (which in half of the cases won't be able to save me anyway, as they are kids hardly able to swim themselves), should not mean that it has to be closed. Not all of us need baby sitting!

The facilities are very nice around the whole centre. There are loads of sports you can do there and I would say the water sports are some of the most popular. I would recommend it to
anyone who plays a sport however there are loads of other things you can do if your just there for leisure and not in to the competitive stuff.

Fantastic facility, plenty to do. Climbing wall and pool are really good attractions.

Enjoyed a game of badminton - coincided with club session so court booking was tight and a bit chaotic - mostly because of precious club members wanting 'their' particular court!

Nobody answers the phone. No matter what extension option you press. I'm trying to ask a question that I can't find the answer to on the website

Great place to swim and every over Friday club swimming is just less then a 5 for 1

Great sporting facilities but membership prices are quite high.

After my son had an accident we use the pool and cafe nearly every day. As a family we have been welcomed very well, the life guards was gone the extra mile to please us. The cafe has great customer service really up to date with customer service and how things should be run. I am very pleased to be able to use this centre as it has helped a family tragedy .

Certainly a great place to go when we hsvec typical British weather. Pop over the bridge barrier over Sutton Harbour to Cap'm Jaspers for lunch and a cuppa to warm up.

And I do apologise for my 2yo son for doing a poo in the pool (I kid you not).

Lots of high profit margin unhealthy food options in the cafe along with poor wifi.

What a fab facility - lost a star cus u have to get dressed to use sauna after a swim! :-)
