Freemac Marine Review

Don't believe the other reviews!!! You can do better somewhere else. I bought a pontoon brand new, up graded the Outboard Motor for my new pontoon. After a year I noticed my motor was a year earlier than my Pontoon. I have found much better mechanics at other boat locations. The mechanics that will tell you the truth, and will not change a part unless you need it. Stay Away!!! I gave them One Star because, the only way I can post this.

We have been going to the CNY Boat show for the past several years dreaming of owning a boat someday. Fremac always has phenomenal selection of boats at the show. I was able to discuss with several extremely knowledgeable salespeople to help our family determine what boat and features would best suit our needs. I felt extremely comfortable and confident with making our purchase with Fremac as not only they had the best quality boats but the best staff for sales and service. These folks went above and beyond before, during, and after the sale. I highly recommend for anyone considering a new or used boat to check out Fremac.

I have bought three boats from Fremac (Regal, Stingray and Yamaha), and they are absolutely the best dealer in the area. I find them honest and they go out of their way to get you a good deal. The few times I had some warranty work needed, they were prompt and thorough, getting me back on the water quickly.

My husband and I are long time boaters, having both grown up on boats. We had been in the market for a boat and were starting our process of talking to dealers and narrowing down our choices. Fremac was the last (of 3 dealers) that we went to and boy am I glad we did. The first dealer we had asked them to give us a quote on a pontoon boat that we wanted to have some upgrades on, we still haven't heard back from them yet (it's been 2 weeks), the second dealer we went to we wanted to test drive a boat they had, they said that they would call in one of their guys to put it in the water (it was a late Friday afternoon when we were there) and they would let us test drive the boat that weekend (we still haven't heard back from them either). We went to Fremac and worked with John who spent two hours with us answering all of our questions. I never felt any sales pressure and I never felt rushed. It was a Saturday that we went and looked at the boat and we were due to leave on a trip to our camp that Thursday and really wanted the boat for our trip. John said that he couldnt promise anything but would pass along our request (they weren't sure if they had a trailer that would fit in stock). We purchased the boat on that Saturday and on Monday morning I called Mair, one of the owners. After congratulating us on our purchase Mair said ""I know you have your hearts set up picking it up on Thursday". I was beyond relieved that they followed through with passing along our request. Mair called us back Monday afternoon and said that Jim was unfortunately not available to stay late on Thursday (because of course we needed to pick up the boat after work) but that he could stay late on Wednesday if we wanted to pick up the boat a day earlier AND they didn't have the exact trailer we needed so they upgraded our trailer at no cost to us instead of having us wait the 2-3 weeks to get another trailer in. My in laws have bought boats from fremac years ago and always raved about them and our nephew bought a boat from them earlier in the season. I am thoroughly impressed and grateful to see the old school standards of valuing the customers. We picked up our boat on Wednesday and Jim spent over an hour going over the boat with us and telling us all that we needed to know for a happy and successful boating season. Fremac has me sold, I'll never go to another dealer again. Thank you Fremac!

The most superior performance and reliability of any Marine dealer I have been to!!! I have been on Oneida lake over 30 years. No one can hold a candle to the quality of service, the politeness of the staff, the experience and knowledge of everyone there. The best part of it all, they don't sugar coat anything and do not give you a bunch of crap!!! They tell you 100% exactly what is wrong with your boat and have it done and ready as fast as possible. Being a captain that needs his fishing rig on the water and to make sure it runs 100% every time. I trust no one but this place!!! This is coming from someone who has been on the water over 30 years and will do business no where else!!!!

Bought a hurricane ob in 2013 at Syracuse boat show.sales and delivery excellent along with a great boat.all good til I needed service work this month. I get it is boating season but 4 to 5 weeks wait time on service. Was told lost a mechanic, extremely busy ,blah,blah.i own a business and have never been behind 4 to 5 weeks on anything for over 40 yrs.hire more people, selling is one thing, taking care of customers that spend 30 k on boat is another. Was extremely disappointed. Needless say,after a few more phone calls,I was able to get my problem fixed in two days.pays to know someone willing to help out when you need um.i will continue to seek services elsewhere and purchase my next boat from someone different.

Nasty prople to deal with. In 2013 I called them and said I was interested in a 206C Sweetwater Pontoon boat. They told me there was no such model. I told them I had a Godfrey catalog showing that model. A good salesperson would have at least discussed it with me, but instead ended the cinversation. I eventually had to go to Boatworks in Saratoga Springs. I guess a $20,000 sale was not enough for Fremac to help me out. In 2015, I tried to buy a mounting bolt for the motor through Fremac and they told me to go back to Boatworks. I told them its under warranty and Fremac is a yamaha dealer. They then said it would be 4 weeks before they could get it. I called Boatworks and they shipped it to me immediately. I am upgrading in 2017 before I retire, and I absolutely will stay away from Fremac. Its definately worth the 2 hour ride for good service.

Family owned and operated. They are a great outfit and are always there to help. Staff is attentive and nice, and prices are fair. If you buy from them, you can be confident they will stand by what they sell. The best place to buy Yamaha.

Called them bc I was interested in one of their boats. The lady over the phone was really rude... looks like they don't need new business.

Recently I purchased a 2006 25' Stingray LR I saw at the Syracuse boat show. It was on a broker photo board. Was just what I needed. Saw Jim at sales office. Made the offer and she was mine! Jim said it was complete and one owner. No high pressure and I felt confident after purchase. Need I say this is the finest professional grade water craft built. So much room and amenities. Flawless and everything was in working order and complete. Thanks to Fremac, I am the proud owner of a 2006 Stingray open bow that has a superb drive train with speed and agility. Thanks Jim!

I purchased a new 2015 Yamaha SX192 jet boat from Fremac Marine. When discussing the initial purchase and speaking about the boats performance they recommended installing "Thrust Vectors" made by Jet Pilot. They assured me it would increase performance giving me better steering at low speeds. After purchasing and driving my new boat it had a vibration. After more than two months of wrangling with these people and, them telling me there was"nothing wrong with the boat".They finally removed the "Thrust Vectors" and the problem was solved. After spending the summer driving my new boat with an annoying vibration, I asked for a refund of the cost of the "Thrust Vectors" a mere $250.00 and they refused ! Unbelievable, particularly since I'd spent more than $30,000 with them. They couldn't see there way to giving me my money back on a product they recommended which caused the vibration in the first place! Further, the Vectors are not even approved by Yamaha. I was stunned! These people are the WORST at service after the sale I've ever experienced in more than 40 + years of boating. Spend your money elsewhere! These people care little about customer service after the sale or customer satisfaction!

Fremac Marine Sales & Service is an excellent Marina and community, 100% of your neighbors and fellow boaters are willing to help out, the staff is friendly and will point you in the right direction within their services. Recommend without reservations.

Fremac is an amazing marina. They have such a friendly staff and really make the boating world an enjoyable place to be in. Knowing that it s hard to appease everyone, their parts and service is very good at getting you what you need.

A buddy of mine is starting to look for his first boat and as a Yamaha owner myself, I recommend he look at them as a consideration.

We met up with Jimmy and he spent a good hour going over a ton of information to help my friend make a decision. Knowing we were from out of state and will not be buying from him, Jimmy went above and beyond.

If their sales, service, and maintenance departments are remotely as accommodating as Jimmy was, one would be lucky to do business with these guys!
