Location is very good. The surrounding area is within walking distance, and there are plenty of things to enjoy such as a house, bar, theater, etc. Room size is big and staff are generally friendly.

It would be a crime to ask for a better located hotel. Super steep prices for this reason but this is a well kept property. Clean rooms, a good fitness center and meticulously maintained.

Almost perfect stay! Upon checking in, I inquired about late check
out and was told that 3 pm on Sundays was the hotel policy. I asked the hotel clerk to please sign me up knowing that I would not be released from the business portion of my trip until close to 3 on Sunday. I rushe back to my room to collect my belongings @2:00 pm. I figure I had enough time for a quick lunch in my room and then on to the highlight of my trip: a matinee broadway show starting at 3pm two blocks away.
I arrived to a supervisor knocking on my door shouting "Housekeeping". I explained that I had not checked out yet while trying to unlock my door. But the keys had been deactivated. She instructed me to go to the front desk where I had to stand in line for 30 mins just to have the same hotel clerk reactivate my entry card with a "sorry 'bout that." Needless to say, I was hightailing it back to my room to collect my items, chock down my lunch, and racing to the Imperial theater all by 3 pm. This could have been avoided and caused me some anxiety. Overall, the room was great.. very clean and spacious. But I would have liked to have had my 30 mins back had the hotel clerk followed through with my request upon check-in.

Good value, at least when booked through Hotwire like we did. The bathrooms even have European faucets, so you're likely to adjust the water to your preferred temp. without spending an hour ;)

In town on business I have stayed here 4-5 times and have always had a good visit. If your a Starwood member ask for a room on a high floor or the ground noise will keep you up most of the night.

Not my father or uncle received there deposits for both stays, like really? And when I called accounting they said u can call your bank and just dispute it.which is ridiculous, there is a reason it calls deposit, However they can t do so cuz their card are not from America and they don t have such an option.

Great location, the rooms were nice but the hot water was HOT, and the beds were small. The cleaners were awful, started the room but didn't finish. Only emptied one trash can, left a bag in the middle of our room, toilet wasn't even flushed yet, but they took the tip.

The rooms were ok. Nothing special really, but of course you will pay for the convenience of being closer to times square. The location on 8th ave and 43rd st is not bad at all though. If you are looking for a more trendy upbeat hotel In the city I recommend Hyatt centric times square. This one is more for the... older, conservative crowd.

This is a good Westin, even despite being in a popular and tough location. Upkeep is great, staff is good and amenities are good. I was surprised at quality just based on assumption of wear and tear. I will be back.

Great Hotel. The diner in the main lobby was amazing. I had the most fantastic waiter. Who is very alert and attentive the everything that was needed for the meal. Had a great experience and I would totally go back again. I would highly recommend eating here if staying at the Westin

Customer service was fair. What can you expect it's New York. The manager took care of any discrepancies with our stay. This is one hotel that if you're expecting great customer service and free amenities you're in for a big surprise because they really don't have that. The rooms however were very nice and it's in an excellent part of Time Square. Wi-Fi cost about $20 a day, and business center cost you five bucks to check your email and print off one page. they will nickel and dime you at every corner. We asked for a fork and a knife and they charged us almost 2 dollars.

We enjoyed our 5-night stay at this comfortable, relaxed, Times Square hotel. Ideal base for enjoying New York. The only thing that spoiled our stay was the unacceptable length of time it took to refund the balance of the deposit against potential purchases that they automatically took at Reception, without us being asked, because we were staying more than 24 hours. We queried the unexplained amount added to our bill on our account, which could be viewed on the TV in our room. We were assured it would be back in our bank account within 24 hours of our departure but then we had to chase for it when we got back to the UK more than 10 days later!) Not impressed!

Great location but the rude and discriminatory employment practice made my stay at this beautiful hotel horrible ! No, just because I am a black person in America that does not mean I deserve to be treated in this poor manner.

Room is small for people to share. We had to call for new towels. You have to pay $20 for wifi a day. Our trash was not emptied daily. Room was clean other than that. Staff was very friendly.

I at the Westin times square after Thanksgiving. The room was luxurious and quiet. The bed was comfortable and the pullout couch for the children had a nice thick mattress that was comfortable.

This place was good while it was until I found bugs in the room and crawling in my bed. The manager did switch my room immediately but then I lost my upgrade. He did ask me to email me the picture of the but, which I did. But he never followed up with me as promised nor was I compensated anyway for the hassle I had to go through switching rooms in the middle of my stay.
Lighting is horrible for the size of the room.

Stayed for 1 night. Loved it!. Hotel is modern and huge. Love the decor and the customer service was great. I was upgraded to a premier king room and it was beautiful. It was on the 43rd floor with an incredible view. It had a beautiful bathroom and shower. It's in the middle of everything. Would definitely stay again without a doubt.

Update - September 20, 2018:

Update - September 20, 2018:
Our credit card bill shows an over charge of $100USD from the amount provided in our bill upon check out. After calling customer care and emailing them on this billing issue--no help and no response. Terrible customer service. Will be disputing with credit card company and will never stay at The Westin again.

The rooms are a decent size for New York and the location was great but don't see how this hotel is a 4.5 star accommodation. The check-in desk are fine but would not say that they are friendly at all. Got suckered into upgrading our room from a basic King room to a "slightly bigger King room, on a higher floor" (as the front desk guy told us), at a price of $25 USD a night. Got a high floor yes, but the room was exactly the same size as the regular, lower floor rooms. It also had peeling ceiling paint and the bathroom mirror was rusting. Nice view though. Anyways, had to switch back to a lower floor room because my husband's sinuses were having trouble keeping up with the 40 floor elevator ride. So the next day we asked to switch back to the original basic King room in which we were told they had no more so we had to go with a basic room, with 2 double beds--how romantic. The basic room turned out to be nicer, with less peeling ceiling paint and a perfect bathroom mirror.

Also, this hotel has the thinnest walls I have experienced in a hotel. My husband and I had trouble falling asleep while battling the incessant creaking of the "Associates room", the constant flushing and showering going on in the room above/around us, and the loud voices from the hallway. Even the neighbour's door opening sounded like someone was entering our unit. It tricked us every time.

If I could give this hotel a 3.5 star, I would. Overall, not bad--but definitely not great. Would definitely look to book elsewhere next time we're in New York.
