One star. No amenities. Staff is super courteous. I wish the hotel matched the class of the people that work here. Motel 6 has more amenities than this place. Piss poor facility for a Westin. #NeverAgain

Stayed there last night. I was tied and just wanted to take a shower and go to bed. I threw a towel over the shower bar and opened the shower curtain. First I noticed the mold growing in the caulk joint by the faucet. Thought that was gross. I turned on the water and it would not fully come out of the shower head. Half out came out the tub spout and half threw the shower head. It was a little frustrating. Then half way threw my shower I was washing my hair and there were two non head hairs on the tile above eye hight. At that point I was disgusted and was done. I went to grab my towel and there was another pubic hair on the towel. I was upset. So I get dressed and went down to the lobby. The guy behind the counter offered me $20 off my breakfast meal the next morning. If you can not clean the room I say in what makes them think I trust how they clean the kitchen. I declined the $20 food discount and asked for a manager. I have told her I have stayed at $59 a night hotels and never have they been so disgusting. She said she could only take $50 off the one night $189 bill. So they lost a customer for life and have a bad review. I felt they should have comped that stay or the next one. Maybe even half off. I will never be back.

I don't know how they can call this place a Westin. It is poorly maintained, the front desk staff are indifferent, the elevators had issues multiple days in a row leading to a 20 min wait to make it to the lobby. Our sleep was disturbed all 5 nights we were here, including vaccuuming at 8AM. The walls are thin and every sound can be heard from your neighbors above, below, and on the sides. The amount of sleep you're able to get is up to the other guests and housekeeping.

Hotel view and room are clean and nice - but that s about it.
The staff can learn a lot from cheaper hotels of their chain, when it comes to service and a warm welcoming. Because I didn t feel welcomed at all.
We had a suit, which again was nice - we asked for one, that overlooks the Mississippi. We were told, there is non available - the whole hotel being empty and having 35 suits available - I HIGHLY doubt that. We were not informed of pool/gym opening hours. Being an ambassador member, I am used to get a little treat as a welcome - like fruits or something - in this hotel I felt close to an intruder. No water, no information, no nice tone - to me, not a hotel I can recommend or ever book again.

I love the beds...so fresh and comfy. The bath was spacious, beautiful and clean with a walk in to the rain head shower. Lighting is well done. Could use some USB and nightstand access for phone chargers, but couldn't subtract from the best night sleep experience. Stunning view and friendly staff.

Great location and friendly staff! Enjoyed our stay here. You are walking distance from downtown and next door to Harrah's. Lots of shopping and dining right in the area. Really enjoyed our stay. Beds are super comfortable as well!

Looking forward to the roof top pool, but once checked in, found out it was permanently closed. Also, the bathroom door locked us out from the outside, had to get maintenance to unlock it, which resulted in him breaking the door. The lobby, however, was very nice. Also, we had a side room which gave us the view of the river and the city.

The room was slightly dirty, the handles and knobs were all smudged and greasy. Room was just a bed, desk and dresser, nowhere to put clothes etc when not in use. Wifi doesn't work, no/limited connectivity. And to top it off, the maid was pooping in our bathroom (no fan available) and asked us to come back in 10min.

The lobby is beautiful, the rooms are a nice size, and the views are amazing. The location is the best part! You are walking distance to everything. The bed wasn t as comfortable as some other hotels we ve stayed but we still enjoyed our stay. The room was clean but we didn t get maid service the whole weekend. Not sure what was up with that, but it wasn t really a big deal to us. I m sure you can call and ask for maid service/towels if you really needed it. We will definitely stay here again when we visit New Orleans.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Cannot beat the location on Canal Street. The lobby has a fantastic view over the city and water. For Christmas there were beautiful trees on top of the traditional decor. The food menu didn t seem very appetizing, so we ordered drinks from the bar. The bartenders were highly skilled, quick, and very friendly. Overall I highly recommend staying here for your trip in New Orleans.

Customer service is just terrible. They can't do anything to help you. Why be called customer service when you can't do anything for your customers? We meant to book a room at the Sheraton hotel, but Google gave us the wrong phone number. It was an accident. The gentleman who answered didn't even state the hotel name or location, etc. Clearly people make mistakes and I totally get that. We called back realizing we booked the wrong location. Called back and they couldn't do anything for us but take our money. They kept saying, "the hotel won't wave your penalty fee if canceled." The hotel doesn't decide crap. It's managers with good customer service and understanding that mistakes happen that wave fees. That's how you build customer rapport. Get it together.

I frequently travel to New Orleans and the Westin is one of the best hotels I've stayed at. The rooms are modern and very comfortable with plenty of amenities. The lobby has a beautiful view of the Mississippi River and the French Quarter, as well as a bar with seating. The staff is very friendly the room service is delicious! Highly recommend to anyone travelling through New Orleans!

My best friend since forever hosted guests for her 50th Birthday Celebration at the Westin Canal Place last month, and the new look and feel of the hotel is AWESOME! So bright and open and inviting. Before the party, many of her guests (myself included) hung out at the "Observatory 11" bar where the fun didn't end. Much of our fantastic experience centered around your Restaurant Manager, Byron Cerre. He was engaging, courteous, and just super accommodating. He made everyone feel welcome. He really exhibited the essence of New Orleans... a city of great food, fun, and hospitality! We will certainly be back!

The room and view is amazing, however, the staff is RUDE! The bell men never came to help with the bags and watched my 3 young kids and I struggle to get the bags out of the car. Wanted to "inform" me there was valet charge or would I rather park it myself. Feel the need to throw it out there I drive a really nice car, so I'm not sure what the point of "informing" me would be. For this I chose to self park. The room was not ready when we checked in and was told they would call. I had to ask if they could hold our bags so we could grab a bite to eat. No one called me to let me know it was ready, but after 2.5 hours, we went back and luckily it was. Due to the lack of customer service, I will not recommend this hotel. You can pay the same amount for the same quality and be treated MUCH better!

I stayed at the Westin from March 28 thru April 1st. The hotel was beautiful, but our experience, not so much. There was construction which was really loud and obnoxious. We had someone claiming to be security enter our room without More

My key had become demagnetized after checking in (unknowingly). I left and came back and Lindsey Hubert, the front desk clerk, refused to let me into my room. This was an uneasy feeling by me not being from New Orleans and all of my belongings were in the room. The property is lovely. Brice (who checked us in) was nice. But, Lindsay was the absolute un-accommodating person ever.

At first glance, our hotel room was very nice, but the longer we settled in, the more we disappointed we became with our stay. When we first arrived, there was a foul smell coming from the toilet. It came in waves throughout our stay; when we d think it went away, it would only come back stronger. It made the entire room smell and when we finally said something to the front desk, all they did was spray air freshener in our room and called it good. That did not help. Our phone in the room did not work. We informed the front desk of this as well and a tech guy came up to our room at 9:30 when we were getting ready to go to bed... then he ended up taking the phone and never returned it. If you want your room cleaned, you have to be out of your room by 8:30 in the morning. They actually woke us up from sleep when we heard housekeeping banging on our door one morning. There s no pool available. This was a huge downer especially since it was around 90 degrees our entire stay. It took three tries to get our room keys to work. After talking to some of the guests at the hotel, key troubles wasn t an uncommon occurrence. The first day we were there, housekeeping picked up the dishes from our room service the previous night and that s all they did. They didn t make our bed or restock our towels or anything else. We had to reuse dirty towels. I m not the kind of person who complains. It takes a lot for me to post negative reviews. Book a room here at your own risk. I definitely won t be back.

This was a nice hotel. The room was clean and customer service was excellent. It is a bit of an "trip" to get to your room. You enter in the first elevator to go to floor 11 and then check in and then go up to your room in the next set of elevators. The only reason I did not go for a 5 here was there pool was down and I found that out the hard way. We were told after we checked in. The only offer was we could go to another hotel to go swimming. Really? I would stay here again

Upon arrival the signs to get to the hotel were not specific. We had to figure out which floor was the correct floor to get off the elevators. Then once in the first lobby, we couldn't get on the elevator, because it was a late check in. We called security and he politely and expeditiously let us onto the elevator and then to the second/main lobby. Unbeknownst to us, the security guy also had to check us in. He didn't have access to see our reservation, so he called somebody to help look it up. The representative couldn't find our reservation at first, but then found the incorrect reservation that was canceled the day before. Finally, he found the correct reservation and then the security guard proceeded to give us our keys. We went up to the 27th floor, unlocked our room door and all of the lights were on. Also, as soon as we opened the door, there were a stack of used towels in the middle of the floor which appeared to have blood on them. We didn't even enter the room! I called the security guy back, explained, he called the representative again, we went back downstairs, (myself, husband, 10 yr old and sleeping 2 yr old), grabbed new keys and went up to the 29th floor. We began unpacking and getting ready for bed since it was now after 3 am. We then attempted to turn on the TV, but it wouldn't turn on with the remote. We tried to check the batteries, but a screw driver or something of the sort is needed to open it. So much for that! We went to bed. We left the room at 8:40am and returned at 9:30 pm on 05/21/20, only to find a room that had not been cleaned. No beds made, no trash pulled and NO TOWELS!!!! I called every number for a hotel representative around 10pm and no answer. Finally, you guessed it, I called security again. A different guard was on duty and he couldn't answer why nobody cleaned our rooms. He said, "I will try to find some towels for you, but you may have to come get it." Why is the security guard forced to "FIND TOWELS" for YOUR GUEST, WESTIN????!!!! UNACCEPTABLE ON EVERY LEVEL! The only reason a star of 1 was given is because the room is somewhat esthetically pleasing. Please do better and please give guest more options to fix problems after hours. Also, please have somebody follow up with us. Even with Covid-19, if you can't fully or partially operate effectively, then shut the hotel completely down! Thank you.

The hotel is newly remodeled and I was lucky enough to get a river view suite. What they don t tell you is the river view side has train tracks right under the room. I was 26 floors up and heard the train LOUDLY 4-6 times every night. I realize NOLA is all about drinking and passing out but even with the blood alcohol content I had, I still heard the train every time. Hotel staff weren t super helpful on any of the times I connected with them (re: water bottles, room cleaning and barking dog next door). Anyway it s a decent hotel but I hope you can sleep through a train whistle, literally.

I had a work conference in this area and stayed at the Westin for 3 nights. When the car service dropped us off at the entrance, we were greated immediately and had someone help with our bags. You walk in through an entrance which is a room with two elevators and a side door (which leads to the mall). You take the elevator up to the 11th floor lobby to check in. The large windows in the lobby give you great views of the Mississippi River. There is a restaurant as well as a bar located on the same floor. Neither one intrigued us. The bar was always very loud when we walked by but we couldn't hear it from our room.

The check in process ran smoothly. The rooms were nice and clean. We ordered room service a few times (mainly for late dinners) after our meetings and one morning on our last day. The food was yummy but it definitely gets pricey.

Other than that, we didn't spend too much time at the hotel. It is located conveniently close to the French Quarter which is were we spent a lot of time roaming, so the hotel served its purpose. Downstairs is a mall with some upscale stores in which we found time to browse. One night, we made our way up to roof where the pool is located. You get some amazing views of the area from up there!

Started coming here for work a few weeks ago. Beautiful facility, friendly staff. And when my girlfriend came to visit for the weekend, they went out of my way to make the occasion a special one. Can't speak highly enough of how far above and beyond they went, and highly recommend the Westin to anyone visiting New Orleans.

Room was clean and bed was comfortable.
Had to get my key card fixed as did several guests.
Assumed from photos on website that they had a pool. Apparently they haven t had one in years. Maybe they should remove those photos?
For a treat we had room service breakfast. Server very friendly and on time but food was luke warm.

Dissapointed, only 2 good things, location and river view. We were fortunate to have gotten into our room at a reasonable time. We had no shampoos and such, I brought my own. We tried to get the front desk by phone and were never successful. We had no Robes or laundry bag, As luck had it, there was a supply room across the hall. We went and got our own towels! The shower head leaked, and caulking around tub faucet was cracked. Bathroom vanity top was chipped and cracked. Walls were dirty, one uncomfortable chair , no ottoman, looked like it was missing furniture. Really sad considering the money paid. Unexplained charges on credit card. Elevators were a little screwy too. One or two issues is normal, but this was too many. Friends in other rooms had their own issues, like seeing a cockroach. 50 , breakfast for two, very dissapointing, i would have felt better donating to the homeless. If you want to sacrifice for a view then book away!
