Clean, convenient, the restaurant was good. Upscale, customer service was fine.
Staff, rooms, and location are all top notch. I had awful cell reception but this is neither the hotels fault nor a deal breaker.
The location was fantastic (only a short walk from the baggage claim and the check in counter). I only stayed for a few hours on an overnight layover but everything was as expected. The price was higher than I would have liked, but it was justified by the convenience.
It was very nice. Wish the staff would have told us our airline was at a different terminal.
Only visited for the conference hall and breakfast/lunch. Area was professional and well staffed. Valet was also efficient in attending to customers.
Fantastic place to stay before an early morning flight
Clean, comfortable and convenient! Loved staying the night before an early flight. Stress free travel is the best travel. The rooms are seriously nice and overlooked the runways. Great bar as well.
Been staying here for years now and they manage to keep it nice and modern. The staff has always been excellent in all my experiences here.
Recently I had to make an emergency trip to bury my father. I got trapped in Detroit at the Westin at the Airport for two days. I offer this as pure experiential data, so it's not made up.
Given $279/night, $30 meals, $8 bagels, $20 movies that are over a year old and a WiFi that is a joke, I should have slept in the concourse and saved the stress and a lot of money. No coupons offered, no discounts. My flight was canceled, ergo, my problem. No customer service evident, but I don't blame the staff here, they simply are not empowered to solve problems by their management team. And after having called their 'management of customer service,' somewhere in the world, she hung up on me and told me to seek out my own litigation! Right. Like I'll ever waste another dime on this dive. What's the saying? it's 10 x harder to get a new customer, than to keep the ones you already have. Well, Westin, this is the end of the trail for me and you and I hope a lot of other people that steer clear of your over-priced rip-off strategy, taking advantage of people in distress.
Refrigerator didn't work, nor did the ice machine on our floor
Comfortable beds, courteous staff. The bar/lounge has pretty good food. I had the pierogi, yummy! Try the Peared-up cocktail, the bartender Philip makes the best! You can also give the executive club a visit. Light snacks in the evening, and breakfast. The attendant was really nice, and kept the food fresh and filled. Two visits, and both were winners.
Really nice hotel. Easy walk to the airport and thru security.
So handprints on the doors, never have a working refrigerator, there isn't a microwave in the room, and you cannot order take out from the hotel restaurant. But you can order room service that requires a fee and a service charge so if you order a Quesadilla it would cost $25 total. The rooms are usually clean when I stay here so this surprised me. Also due to Covid-19 TSA is shut down in that area.
Currently undergoing remodelling....Room decor a 70's retro style...Great food...Amazing bed...!! Dont be in a hurry to check-in....Popular hotel due to its great location in the DTW airport..
Excellent service and accomodations. Beautiful hotel.
The Westin is very nice on the inside and in theory convienent. Unfortunately I was disappointed because I booked this hotel for the private security line which I had hoped would allow me to sleep in a bit, (for my 7:25 flight). THE WESTIN SECURITY LINE IS NOT OPEN ALL THE TIME. I put in caps because I found it difficult to find that information prior to my trip. I went out to my flight around 6am and found out I had to go through regular security. Because of the miscommunication I almost missed my flight. Bottom line, beautiful hotel, but very unclear about the perks.
Great place to relax and get a high quality meal if you have a long layover in DTW. The hotel is outside of security, but you reenter through a dedicated security lane that is never busy.
Location is really good and it even has its own entrance into the airport (assuming that is your right terminal, made that mistake once...).
Rooms are great and restaurant is okay. Would be better with more of a real lobby bar. Nice option for meetings too.
I recommend a room facing out to the runway. They have excellent views and good sound proofing.
Great service at check in.
But most impressive AFTER our visit was AMY in security/lost and found. She took our initial report of lost item and FOLLOWED UP by calling us back multiple times to keep us informed of the search status. She was diligent and professional and we appreciated her help and personal concern.
Nice shower. Comfortable beds. Gross over priced buffet breakfast.
One of the nicest Westins, right on the airports tarmac!
Service at Reflections was terrible. Very slow service. Ordered drinks and then proceeded to sit at our table for 20 mins with no food, no drinks, and not even a glass of water. Finally got food, hamburger was hot, fries were cold, not WARM, not room temperature, but cold. Pizza was good. However service was so unbearable slow because there was one bartender and one waitress. This was me giving this hotel a second chance but there are too many great hotels in the nearby area to settle for this; an overpriced menu with poor service.
Very modern and clean room. The lobby and pool area were both well maintained and decorated.
Stayed overnight. Got to skip the line due to platinum status. Excellent staff. Gorgeous, well-maintained property. Probably among best Westin properties of the dozens we have stayed at.
Love this hotel and it's convenient location. The rooms are well appointed, the beds are very comfortable, and the restaurant is great. The. reception desk is staffed with some of the most welcoming and helpful people. In fact, everyone we encountered from front desk to housekeeping was friendly and highly efficient. This is a place to stay the night before an early flight or after a late arrival.
Renovations going on in lobby but room was clean and comfortable. Convenient for overnight business trips.
Flight was cancelled so Delta put me up here. It was very nice and up to my normal standards. Comfy bed, pricey but good room service and very convenient location within airport. Would definitely stay again.
Very under staffed, waited 45 mins to get checked in... very ridiculous..
I was at the Westin for a business conference. The Continental breakfast was very good. In the conference room the wall sconces were set up so they projected a W on the wall, this was very subtle but I thought it was a neat touch.
Meals little beat over priced, you will sleep like a baby the mattress are most comfortable ever been sleep for a hotel.
Very comfortable rooms and handy for airport, special bonus a dedicated TSA entrance to the terminal which is so nice
The service was mostly terrible. My husband and I booked the room because we were going to be in town for a concert. We checked in at 4:30pm. We went to the room to check the cleanliness...all checked out ok less a pair or dirty balled up panties in a dresser drawer. We made plans to have it removed, but never got around to it due to the chaos that ensued after. We went down to our car to grab our bags. When we got back to our room, our keys wouldn't work. We lugged our bags back down to the front desk and we were told that the keys we deactivated because we kept them too close to our cell phones. We got new keys, went back to the room, but the new keys still didn't work. My husband went back down while I waited to outside the room. He asked for a new room, but got a third set of keys instead. Low and behold, those keys didn't work either. Maintenance came, manually unlocked our door with a contraption so I could get my purse with the concert tickets. We were super late to the show, which makes me that much more angry... cause that whole ordeal took an hour and a half. We were told that when we got back, all we would have to do is get a new set of keys from the front desk because they needed to change the battery and reprogram the door. We got back at around 12:30/1:00 am explain our situation to the front desk, they had no idea what we were talking about... gave us new keys. Low and behold the new keys didn't work. It wasn't until then, that they were willing to give us a new room.. we didn't take it. We opted to drive the 3 hours home, instead. Never did get to tell them about the dirty panties...
The hotel is great but the shuttle service is not. Not so friendly driver won't help with baggage, a disadvantage to elderly customers.
This is one of my favorites! I absolutely love the shower, my robe, my bed! It is a spa day whenever I am here!
Great hotel. Super comfortable beds and the rooms are incredibly sound proof. You can't hear any airplanes outside at all.
The room was nice. My only complaint was that there was a high pitch noise that would start every once and a while. Other than that the bed was comfortable, and I managed to get some sleep. I only stayed one night so I can't comment on much else.
I never would have guessed this gem was buried in this dingy little airport. It saved me a drive on icy roads early in the morning.
Location is excellent, there is a security line in the lobby that makes it super convenient for early morning flights. The rooms are well appointed and it is amazingly quiet inside the hotel and rooms for being in the airport. WiFi is fast, but it is 10$ a night.
Thank you guys for all your help with my mom. On thanksgiving. The staff is sweet harts checking on my mom after she missed her flight. I wish I can give 10 stars I can't thank you enough making sure she was ok.
The appointments were all wonderful. Everything was clean and new. The bed was comfortable. The door to the neighboring room needs more sound proofing. My neighbors coughing made falling asleep difficult. The food and service at the restaurant was very good. The pricing was a little high. The front desk staff seemed a little sour, and I couldn't get a receipt on my way out because there was no one at the desk. Overall, very nice but the desk staff could use a tune-up.
Room service was poor and customer service was rude.
Not suitable for crew. No microwave in room nd no suitable fridge. All meal prep will spoil after long day in your bag.
This hotel tried to charge me $500 when Delta Airlines left me stranded here. I should have filed a complaint with the attorney general.
Super convenient with direct access to DTW. Friendly staff, comfortable beds and quiet rooms.
Only came in for drinks and lunch, very good drinks and lunch. Little pricey, to be expected though. Seeing was very nice. Great spot to hang between flights or meet up after flights.
Located at the terminal with no need to wait on a shuttle to or from. Also hosts its own security checkpoint. Staff was friendly and room was very nice.
I did not stay here overnight, but attended a conference for two days. The facilities and food were very good, and the service was excellent.
Beautiful hotel connected to the Delta terminal of DTW with it's own security entry.
Really nice! Love the fact that it has an entry to the airport adjacent to it.
Stay here if you have an early flight and want to be close to the airport. It is in the airport with its own security checkpoint. The rooms and beds are extremely comfortable.
The hotel is great, beds are comfortable and clean. We were here for a national company reunion. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the bar staff was very unfriendly and the food was terrible.
Met my girlfriend on a flight from Tokyo during her layover, enjoyed the restaurant and atmosphere.
The Westin Hotel is a beautiful display of some of the worlds finest design. Its lobby immediately puts you at ease.
Yikes ! Very noisy ! Even kn the middle of the nite u can hear neighbors talking
Wonderful location if you leaving out of DTW this is the best place to stay. The staff rocks.
