Westerville Dermatology Review

I was able to book an appointment within the week of my initial request. The facility was clean and felt safe to be in during the pandemic- all of the necessary precautions. Very low wait time, less than 5 minutes. The staff was friendly, and the doctor was efficient and pleasant. 10/10.

Thoroughly professional, Efficient, I liked the way the doctor worked on the lesions of concern and they are already gone. The treatment for Actinic keratosis worked well. For some of the newer RX drugs they have a pharmacy that helps with the cost far more than the discount cards. Deserve the 5* rating.

Quick and efficient and they handled the extra precautions for covid very well.

The staff is very friendly and I felt comfortable and safe in reference to the COVID virus.

Left with a ton of questions about a diagnosis. Very uncomfortable practice

Dr. Grosshandler is simply the best. Same for all the nurses and staff. Short wait times and exceptional service.

Dr. Grosshandler at Westerville Dermatology does great work! He spent a lot of time with me as the patient to understand the issues I was having. He is very detailed in his explanation of possible treatments and helped me make the right decision for my goals and budget. Very friendly staff and environment.

I had an appointment for this week that I had scheduled over a month ago but I had to cancel due to an urgent conflict. I called back to reschedule and they told me they aren t scheduling appointments for new patients until January 2018. It is November 1 so that is two months away!!! If they have that little care about me my needs as a new patient now, how could I expect them to care about me once I m not a new patient. Good thing they have so many current patients that they can be turning away new patients because they just lost me as a future customer and earned themselves a bad review. There are hundreds of other dermatologists in Columbus and based on this experience I would recommend finding a different one. Bad customer service isn t something that needs to be tolerated when we pay huge money for healthcare.

Had my first full body skin cancer check this morning. Very friendly staff and Dr. G was professional and explained everything. He found a couple of concerning spots and biopsied one and treated the other right away. All in all, a much better experience than I expected.

Quick service with excellent care and advice. I was in and out in 15 minutes.

Very uncomfortable experience for a new/first time patient. There was someone in training in the room with the doctor while talking about very personal issues and no personalization (almost robotic). I probably won t go back.

Dr. Lin and her staff have been professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate during my treatment. My rapid progress has been the result of her effective and cost-saving recommendations, and I appreciate her ability to listen to my concerns thoroughly during each visit. I really like my dermatologist Dr. Grosshandler and everything he has done to help me with my rosacea. I have seen a significant improvement with it getting better. I also really like the hours of this location and being able to go in first thing before my work day starts in the morning. The early hours are perfect.

I had an in office procedure done on my back this past week. I felt very comfortable from the time I entered the building until the time I left. Everything was sanitized and there was social distancing, along with people wearing masks. Once I got back to the room, the same procedures were evident and the procedure went off without a hitch. Dr. K. And his staff made me feel very much at ease during the procedure. I would not hesitate to go back for anything else I needed.

I really like Dr. Grosshandler. No nonsense guy who listens to concerns and makes you feel comfortable asking questions. Also excellent at telling you what he s doing next during an exam and asking consent to do so. I switched to him from Dr. Lin and I m glad I did so.

I felt very safe as they are doing a fine job of addressing Covid-19 protocols!

Safety measures were taken, the appt was on time and Dr. Grosshandler took great care of my needs.

Dr. Grosshandler is a warm and caring physician. He patiently explains all options. I ve never had to wait, as I m typically seen before my scheduled appointment time. Highly recommend this physician.

Dr. Lin is an awesome Dermatologist. She always has a great personality and always shows consideration of whatever I need for my skin, etc. I would recommend her to anyone. Job well done!!!

Dr. Lin and Genna were absolutely amazing during my visit for lip filler! They made sure I was completely comfortable, confident, and pain free. I have had my lips done multiple times and this by far was the best experience and she made them exactly how I wanted them!! Exceptional bedside manner and service!

Switched from another dermatologist, and Westerville Dermatology hit all the marks. Very kind and warm employees, and a doctor who knows what she is doing!

Dr. Grosshandler and this office are a joke. He removed a lipoma from my mother's leg without explaining the change in procedure (he originally thought it was an ingrown hair) on December 12th. She had painful complications in the days following to which he said they will work themselves out. When she had her stitches removed the nurse felt "too inexperienced" to do it herself. The other nurse broke a needle in her leg while instilling the numbing medication. None of the nurses knew the procedure for fixing this problem. They removed the stitches anyway. At this point she had developed a large hematoma(bloody tumor) which is still there on Dec. 31st pushing out of the incision leaving her with an open wound. The office lied to us saying they made an appointment with another office to have it removed this morning. All they really did was make an appointment at another clinic, NOT with a surgeon. We are here for more than 2 hours already waiting for a surgeon to "fit us in" for a procedure we were told was already scheduled. We have been informed the procedure itself will take another 2 hours.

This office is not a competent medical center. Nurses there knew the doctor was making the wrong choices for my mother and failed to advocate for her.

As a nursing student I am appalled by their incompetence, and as a human I am appalled by their lack of caring.

Fast, safe courteous service...as always. Have never had a bad experience going there. I have been a patient for many, many years.

Honestly, I would not recommend this place. I was seen for eczema on my hand, it was extremely bad and painful. He glanced over my hand, then prescribed me a cream. They pushed me to go through their pharmacy where I only had issues, it took me two weeks to get my cream. That s a story all on its own. Will not go back!

They go out of their way to keep you informed of what is going on and what to expect. Very friendly and knowledgeable.

Quick, safe, accurate and efficient annual full body scan. My third annual exam performed at Westerville Dermatology and a clean Bill of health. The past two years I needed some treatment and more in-depth diagnosis and as a result of that level of care, I now am clear with no follow up needed.

The staff was very professional.Dr. K took his time and was very thorough.

I had my first experience at Aderma yesterfay for microdermabrasion and it was fabulous, my skin feels so fantastic. It's very smooth and glowy. Staff was sooooo friendly.

I really love dr KARIKOMI. He is really nice, explained a lot about eczema and treatment to me. His nurse is also super nice. She told me about a different pharmacy than my usual and they were able to give me a huge discount. I had to switch my prescription a few times and they all took it seriously. I have full respect for this office!

The entire team is made up of true professionals that care about their patients. It starts with the welcome and continues all the way to the exit of the office. I will and have recommend this office to anyone who may be in need of their specialized services.

I have had my worst medical experiences at Westerville Dermatology! I originally went to Dr Karikomi for acne treatment. After years of no results I made the personal choice to accept myself for who I am and not let acne stop me from doing the things I want to do. When I told Dr. Karikomi he couldn t believe I was telling the truth and said I know! Here s a test you ll know you feel fine with your skin if I asked you if you feel comfortable wearing a tank top in public. I said yes I would feel comfortable wearing a tap top in public even with my shoulder and neck acne. He gave me a surprised look and said he was surprised I would feel comfortable.... I was so insulted and embarrassed. I was so emotionally distraught after this appointment that I wanted to stop being a patient of Dr. Karikomi. However, a few months later I asked for a prescription refill but I had to come in and make an appointment I said I was dissatisfied with Westerville and my doctor and the staff scoffed at me and hung up the phone. I never raised my voice or argued with them they were just unprofessional and absolutely RUDE! Do not become a patient at Westerville Dermatology!

they made me waste money to do 3 blood tests for the Absorica prescription but they never called me nor send me a prescription. I have been waiting for this since April and I'm still waiting for that prescription. I called them several times and left a voice mail to Kara but she never returned my calls. It would be better if they had told me that they don't want to see me in their clinic instead of making me do all the test without following up.

Worst place. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Please visit some where else. I m not even sure who the Dr was, they were all wearing the same maroon scrubs, no hand hygiene perform, wearing the same gloves to touch me she had on outside. No help, I think I saw Dr Chin. I m assuming, she seem inexperienced and not helpful at all. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. try Wexner dermatology in Gahanna.

Although I had an annual appointment in a month, I needed seen sooner because of a bout with poison ivy. The office scheduler quickly responded to get me to see a doctor and complete the routine body scan in two days. She also managed to get me to see Dr. Grosshandler since my original doctor was out of the office. Dr. G was most engaging, excellent listening and did a great job of explaining treatment and expected results. Needless, to say, it was a great experience.

I read a bunch of great reviews about Westerville dermatology before making my appointment and I can see why everyone is so happy with them. I was first brought back by Genna who was very kind and helped make the appointment run smoothly. I didn t wait more than a couple minutes after heading to my exam room to be seen (that s unexpected and incredible at any office these days). I had my appointment with Dr. Grosshandler and I m so glad I did. He listened to me and addressed all my issues. He was also very patient with me as I asked all my questions. His bedside manner was great and you could tell he was really knowledgeable about the information he was giving me. He made sure to tailor my plan to what my wants were and I really appreciated that! It was just an overall great experience! I had previously been going to another derm office that was closer to me, but I wasn t happy with the service there. I m so happy I made the switch! If you re looking for a great office for any dermatology needs I highly recommend Westerville dermatology! :)

I purchased laser hair removal about a year ago and recently went in for a touch up. I waited for almost 45min AFTER my scheduled appointment to meet with the doctor who would be doing the touch up. I was dismayed to learn that Tamara is no longer there and now all laser hair would be done by the doctor. Tamara would give you a certain price if you came back w/in a year of treatment for touch ups, however, I was informed they would honor that this time but moving forward they would not guarantee that price. That is disappointing especially after spending thousands of dollars there to get the first set of initial treatments. I was in the office getting the treatments which felt rushed and I honestly feel the doctor did not get all the spots of regrowth. Very disappointed in the direction the practice is going. So good thing while they kept me waiting for my appointment I found Bahia Beauty which has excellent reviews. I was treated by them yesterday. The prices are better, staff is friendlier, and most important I was not kept waiting for long at all. I started my treatment immediately after the doctor did her consult and I honestly am only upset that I hadn't went to them sooner.
