Stayed one night. Staff was more concerned with each other and friends coming and going, rather than the guests in front of them and on the property. Room was very very basic and dated. Buffet was OK. If I stay in Wendover again, which I will, it will not be at the "Nugget".
I really like playing at The Nugget. Great comps and the dealers will actually laugh and be personable instead of be robots like othe casinos in Wendover!
Went to the nugget after a concert. We decided to gamble a little bit then left in the morning. Great times were had.
Very, very dissatisfied.... Sadly, they don't post all of the negative reviews. Should have a rating below "0". Theft... Filth... Odor.... continues to go down hill and current ownership cant catch up.
The worst place to stay in Wendover!!!!! The hotel smells funky the elevators smell worse and the rooms are terrible. The room we stayed in did not have any cold water in the sink, the ice machine on our floor was not working, the room seriously smelled like there could be a dead body under one of the beds. There was mold in the shower and in at least one corner of the room. And there was a big black stain on the carpet by the window. Neither of the clerks at the desk were able to tell us exactly how to get to our room... No map. SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY AND STAY AT THE MONTEGO
Food was okay, wide menu choices. Was served dirty fork in clean napkin though. Poor smoke ventilation
I forgot my son's shoes by accident I know where they were call this place the same day I left n ask if they could hold them or send them to me she said to call back in about 2 days because they hadn't clean up the room so I did then she said to call back the next day I did all to fk hear that there was nothing been reported to the book nothing in the lost and found n nothing in the room stupid ridiculous they stole my bbys shoes they were almost still new (1 week old) blue Jordans how convenient for them not to be found.
It's one of the older Casinos, but I liked it and won!
Dont stay at the rv park, it is a trash fest like nothing I have seen dont waste tour money there is a travel center connected to parking lot stayed there for free with everyone else
Good only for a one night stay. This is our first time staying at the Nugget. We stayed in the queen deluxe room. Pillows and mattress are way to hard. Outlets don't work well. You plug something in and it falls out; except in the bathroom. The outside looks nice but when you walk in everything is old and outdated. As we went throughout the hotel and casino allot of things are broken including one of the two elevators. The only one functioning elevator was slow. The Outside pool is nice but water is way cold. The hot tub water looked like it had not been cleaned in a month. Room has no fridge or microwave. At least a fridge would have been nice. Won't stay again.
The 2nd crappiest hotel/casino in wendover. Dealers are not personable and the hotel is filthy. Needs a remodel.
Love this place. Wish it was easier to get ahold of a host so that they can help you with booking rooms when u like to go out there all the time but have always loved this place since it was the state line
We visit Wendover about 3 times per year. We usually stay at the Garter or Nugget. Our experiences at these casinos have always been positive and fun. We have found the staffs at both casinos to be polite, honest, and helpful. They have always responded to us in a sensitive and sincere manner. The last time we were in Wendover, (February 2015) I lost my cell phone in the Nugget. After searching for the phone in every casino it was returned to me "safe and sound" by the Pit Boss at the Nugget. The food is great at both casinos, slots are fairly loose, dealers are honest and helpful, and everyone works to make your visit a pleasant one. We would give both casinos four stars for the good work they do. As Jackie Gleason would say, "You're the Greatest!" Or as Gen. Douglas McArthur said, "I shall return!"
I tried the Nugget again when I received the One Club offer in the mail. Huge mistake! I called to reserve the room and the woman who answered the phone said, "Can you call back tomorrow? I am here by myself." I should have known better then. I called back the next day and made my reservation. We arrived on Friday and were told immediately we had to get into a long line to get our new One club cards. We waited in that line for 45 minutes. When we finally did our cards..we went to the Kiosk...and nothing was added to the card. We then had to try to get someone to pay attention to us and find out what was going on. We finally got help and we were told that they didn't know why nothing we were told we were going to get was actually on the card. 30 minutes later we finally had printed paper with all of our One Card promises. After finally checking in to our room after an hour and a half we discover that we only have two towels in the room. We call down to get some towels and the phone just rings off of the hook. We went to the seafood buffet. We paid and went into the buffet and there aren't crab legs or shrimp and the workers say they don't have any and aren't putting any more out. We ask for the manager who immediately walks over and says..."You've been here for an hour and a half.." Um..No! We just arrived. "Do you have your receipt?" We give him our receipt and he realized that we aren't actually liars and gives us our refund from the buffet. We then go to the taco stand for dinner. The girls there were nice but made our tacos on the surface that they make all of the taco's on. There is a combination of chicken, beef and pork goo. Yuck! The garbages are overflowing and the people working there laugh about it. I then go to the men's room and discover mold growing on the urinals and the bathroom reeks! Disgusted we just go back to the room. My wife again tries to call for towels and again receives no response. There is not an ice bucket in the room, we ask one of the ladies in maid service and she says they don't have any. We get up the next morning and call again for towels. No Answer. I ask the maid in the hall if I can have a couple of towels and she say's, "No..call and get some." (Did I say that we have been receiving no response for at least five calls?) We are very disappointed in the One Club rollout. The hotel is not clean, there is dust dirt and water damage everywhere. There was a pile of garbage in the parking lot when we got there and it was still there when we left and customer service is horrible. My wife has pictures of the stairs to the skywalk where the tread designed for slip resistance is falling apart. Someone is really going to get hurt. We then try to get some sleep and at 3:00 in the morning, security gets into a screaming fight with drunken fools thinking they need to party in the hallways. I expect drunken fools not security getting into screaming fights with them. We will never be back. We should have never gone back in the first place.
DO NOT- I repeat: DO NOT STAY HERE! No one knows what they are doing. No one can effectively communicate. They go hours on end without managers present while 18 year olds run the front desk. This place is a disaster and on its way out. Stay at The Rainbow!
Nothing against the nugget but there are much nicer casinos in the area.
I booked a room to stay in for the superbowl. Ran short on funds and called to cancel. Hotel rep didn't give me a cancelation number. My account still got billed and they denied my refund of $183. This will change my decision as to what hotel I stay at when venturing to wendo er in the future.
Coffee pot in room did not work, tub was dirty, and the sliding glass door to balcony was very hard to open/close.
Wall paper coming off the walls, the elevator is broken and skips floors we waited 30 minutes until another person staying at the hotel told us about another elevator on the other side when I said something to the front desk about it they said oh yeah they don t work sometimes. And the dealers at the card tables don t know how the games go or the pay outs I won t be returning
Tines of fun and a dance floor to bust a move had a great time here
Good offers. Cocktail waitress did good job bringing drinks while I was gambling. Dealers friendly
I wish I could give ZERO stars. Many concerns and issues during my stay in room 544. I m am ok if your facility is old. Dirty ( Puke pile and trail leading from room 522 to elevator, black mold in bathroom shower area, green corrosion growing on FIRE SPRINKER) is NOT ok. Broken equipment (T.V., A/C, Ice Machine on 5th floor by room 544) is not ok. Especially when a customer reports these issue and no attempt at an apology is made by Hotel Director Tammy . Octavio at front desk @ 5:30 was very apologetic, but not empowered to do much else but say sorry and make notes. Obviously we won t be staying/playing here in the future. Please check your room closely and report items of concern immediately.
Always terrible service on the floor, all the $5 tables were 20-25 even montego, peppermill, or rainbow had some $5 tables. Cashier did NOT want to exchange cash for chips all the other casinos did, stay at Peppermill everything is renovated beautifully.
Love the Nugget.! My favorite Hotel in all of Wendover! Great people great crowds!
I love how they've got the casino floor laid out and everyone seems to be pretty up beat and helpful and makes it even funnier when I'm winning.
I was only there for dinner at the buffet but I had excellent service and there was a very good selection of food that was pretty tasty.
We stayed in the king suite, which has a huge tub in the main sleeping area, which is awesome and deep. The decorations take you right back to the early 90's, but who cares! Tub!
Rooms are nice, a little old Fashioned ! Elevators are Extremely Slow and only have 1-2 in the whole casino. But Love the Gambling Floor and Bars. Friendly . Respectful Employees and People.
Not a bad place to stay. Nice rooms, needs some up keep
It did seem to have as much variety as the other casino's
Rooms had mold in the picture frames and on the walls. The bathroom toilet lid didn't even fit it was to a different toilet and the toilet seat was broken .
This is a reasonably nice hotel but does have a few problems. Mattresses are old and very worn. If the buffet hadn't been free it really wouldn't have been worth it. Flavorless food and not warm with little variety. Cafe, seriously over priced and slow. I finished my meal and waited 30 + minutes to get my bill. I was never checked on or asked if I needed anything like maybe a coffee refill? I like the casino. I found a wide variety of machines and the comps you get are good. Hard to get a drink if you are playing a multidenominational machine. Waitress actually looked to see how much I was playing and then walked away. I still like it there because it has a nice atmosphere. I doubt I'll eat in their restaurants again because there are other places in town that are a much better value. If they want to keep people in the casino they need to improve the food and prices.
Good clean rooms, comfortable bed, happy with a later model TV. All in all, good place to crash for not that much money.
Great place to stay in Wendover. They have large truck parking.
The Wendover Nugget Hotel & Casino is mine and my wifes favorite place to stay and gamble in wendover. the hotell rooms are fantastic and my wife loves the casino and we both enjoy the steakhouse for dinner. never had a bad experience at "the nugget".
The staff has always been friendly to me, the rooms are decent for what you pay for. I always come here to relax. The other casinos are so busy and noisy its nice to come here with friends and actually be able to carry a conversation with the dealers and other staff members. I always get drinks right away, and come on, its the only casino with a Starbucks!
Best Hotel-Casino in Wendover. Be sure to book a room over looking the large Atrium. Filled with Palm trees and great seating areas to relax or have a bit to eat. Lots of parking, room for RV's.
I won't bother telling you not to stay here... its not up-to-par!!!!
Bugs in the ice from the ice maker. Beds sucked. Overall will not recommend nor will I ever stay here again. First and last time staying here. Motel 6 would have been better.
Rotten tomatoes.
Payouts were awful!
Food awful!
To top it off, they charged me two times on my card for the same night!
Never ever will I go there again. It's a drab uneventful environment.
Stephanie Hernandez is the accounting manager and will not return calls.
VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!
I am 100% positive the positive reviews written on this site
are fake....they have got to be!
The Nugget is a great, and decently organized casino. The casino floor isn t the largest, however has a ton of machines, bars, and tables to try and get that lucky win or streak. The Casino Floor Staff, security, bartenders, servers, and especially the Keno and Texas Hold Em Poker people are super friendly. The Hotels are pretty decent on rates as the usual will go with most having the lower rates on Sundays thru Thursday s, higher rates for weekends, events, or holidays. Free WiFi. The Nugget also allows and offers free rooms on the weekdays and weekends for members of the Players Club (Known as the One Wendover Card) The rooms are in the main building on 2 floors, and a set of rooms on the side of the main building called the Tower. The rooms are well kept and clean, and are also going through remodels at the moment to better service the future of guests. The hotel staff are very friendly, quick, and assertive. Rooms are available for smoking and not smoking. Some other amenities that the Nugget has to offer is a small gift shop between the main hotel lobby and Casino floor. A Starbuck s Coffee next to the floor, 3 different restaurants. Tina s Tacos, over by the high end betting machines. Tina s Tacos is good for a snack and go kind of thing. Across them and the floor opposite, sits the Nugget Buffet. It opens daily at 11 AM and closes at 9 PM 7 days a week. The Buffet has some great food choices, food is what you d expect at this rank of service. The servers and staff are extremely attentive and caring. Over by the Keno area, is the Golden Harvest Cafe open 24 hours for hungry casino guests or travelers. The food is amazing and great for what you pay for. The burgers especially are great. Also, there is a big atrium, a big glass elevator, and a spiral staircase in the middle of the building. The Golden Harvest Cafe will serve you out in the atrium as well. If you take the elevator or stairs all the way to the top of the atrium, you will be led over a sky bridge to Montego Bay.
Very dim and smokey. Unfriendly staff at the tables. Left to go across the road.
Love this place but needs to update and not be so tight
I have stayed in this hotel almost biannually for the past 15 or so years, so pretty much my whole life (I'm 20). I enjoy the pool, brownie sundaes, and arcarde. I will say though, the staff once accidentally gave another person the same hotel room, the issue was immediately and smoothly resolved though.
This hotel isn't the most glamorous, but it has charisma.
Just stopped here for the Starbucks on the way to the Bonneville Salt Flats. A pretty depressing place that smells of years and years of cigarette smoke! You ll want to wear a mask here even if you didn t have to!
Went there to eat. Nothing in the restaurant worth eating. They advertised inside the restaurant for a different restaurant, So we left and ate elsewhere. Played for a bit won nothing. Now we aret at the Red Garter having a great meal.
I had such a good time with my friends at the nugget. I won the jackpot playing keno. Yay
Had a fun time, New machines. .spent the night. Staff was nice. Went for my Birthday month. Got my free play and my Birthday cake to bring home. Huge. Was sad my friend didn't get hers which i didn't understand. New owners new rules but hoping for good things when improvements are made.
It's a pretty nice place. Rooms are ok. I wish Nevada would also adopt indoor clean air act like Utah cause its got a pretty strong cigarette smell everywhere, but that's not the casinos fault.
This place is terrible. Elevators were broken 8.9.19, and going up to and from level 7 was a real treat. My room was in sorry shape, especially for 300 dollars for 1 night! Gum on my floor, stains on the floor, poor lighting, TV didn't work, hole in the wall, wall paper peeling off everywhere. Severely outdated BS! The sad thing is, I complained to an employee and she agreed with me that it's a dump!!! I want at least half of my money back, I hate that place and will never spend a dime there again! I have pictures and plan to post them!
