Wendover Nugget Hotel&Casino Reviews

I've never been to the hotel rooms so...I wouldn't know if they're good or not. As for the food, it's pretty good. And the staff is pretty nice and friendly. Oh and the actual casino is located at the state line, basically the border of Nevada and Utah. This fact is shared with Montego Bay.

Lots of slots. Need to put more free play in. We aren't rich, but enjoy spending $ there.

No working tv...no fridge...no coffee....someone threw up in the elevator...I was not pleased

To start off, staff at front desk was rather rude. At 4:00 PM our room wasn't ready, we were told to keep checking back. When we checked back an hour later it still wasn't and we were told they had a different room we could get. We accepted it not knowing what we were getting into. Room was on 7th floor in the tower. When the elevator doors opened it was like walking into a sauna. Muggy and very hot (outside weather was cool enough for hoodies and partially overcast, hate to know what the floor would be like mid summer) When we got into our room we immediately turned on the air. It barely blew any air at all and it was luke warm at best. Left the room to "cool" while we went to casino floor. Came back hours later and the room was still super hot. Would have to guess high 80s low 90s all night into morning, even with the window open as far as possible to get the cold night air in. No ice in ice machine or any floors nearby, closest I found was on level 4s ice machine. The room wallpaper, pictures, and surfaces all showed warping, pealing, bubbling and loosening of glues due to constant high heat and humidity. No fan in bathrooms. Honestly worst rest I've ever had in a hotel. Slept with a towel rolled around ice just to try and cool off a little bit. Made ice runs to other floors at midnight and 3 am because ice in towel had melted and dried, and ice bucket was fully melted and warm. Wont be back.

It's ok.. hard to get a drink.. even water. I played forever until I finally seen a waitress. They need to upgrade to order from the slots. That works well at other casinos

Very clean and friendly staff. Was not super busy so it was easy to get a seat at a slot you wanted to play.

It was supposed to be an amazing weekend with my boyfriend before he goes back to work again. He's a core driller and is gone a lot so every second with him is important. Our room the first night was awful. We were in the "new remodeled" rooms in the Main casino and the room was awful, it was old and ran down, burns everywhere and hot has hell. We called the front desk and after a full night of dealing with it and sleeping in a sauna! We went down and got the run around to talk to the manager but when we finally did she was super nice and switched us rooms. This room was cleaner and had a much better view of the atrium but again we dealt with the AC not working and maintenance came up to "fix" it but it never changed. We had to sleep with the balcony door open "You share the balcony with all the other rooms on that floor." This made for an interesting and worrisome night. I will NOT ever stay at this casino again.

Cant complain with all the comps and free rooms. I go frequently and it is possible to budget.

RIP OFF!!! Overcharged AND it is impossible to get in touch with a manager. They are clearly understaffed. The TVs are never working... this place is very shady with how they conduct business. They even DOWNGRADED my room.

Room was hot AC was trickling into the room. Couldn't sleep. Price was extremely high for what I paid for could have gone to motel 6 and paid less with a better room. Not a WOW experience

Had a lot less smoke than the other casino's, wasn't as crowded (due to being more spaced out, probably had just as many people). Probably my favorite out of the couple I went to.

Crappy A hotel! Woke up in the morning with no hot water. They wont issue any refund. A joke to say the least. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. The majority of the staff are Jerks as well.

I will never stay at the golden nugget in wendover again. I got the sweet with a balcony and the slider door is bolted from the inside and the outside. I could not watch TV from my bed because the TV is on the left side at the end of the bed. Not only could we not watch TV but we had to put the matress on the floor because the box springs were broken in the middle so the bed caved in. There were no covers on the outlets. Air conditioning unit did not work. We had a jetted tub and only half the Jets worked. It was mine and my husband's 17 year anniversary and this place is a true dive. So unhappy. When I complained to the manager he said there was nothing they could do. He could switch me rooms but I could not get a Jacuzzi. They gave us coupons for there buffet 2 for 1 price and we still had to pay $30 a person to eat. Never again will I stay here. Or eat here.

Horrible place......bad food and bad rooms not recommended

Don't try the breakfast buffet on Monday and Tuesday because it's closed and you have to go to the Cafe.

Good casino if you have kiddos because they have the arcade.

I didn't stay at the hotel, but the casino was fun. I enjoyed playing at the tables.

If i could give this 0 stars i would. i checked in at this hotel 2 weeks ago and paid my $50 deposit for my room and i still havent gotten my deposit back and i have called hem 7 times about it. i have left the manager multiple voicemails and the manager has yet to get back to me as well. I have spoke with my bank and there is nothing that is causing the deposit to not go back into my account. My room was HORRID! It had sheets that were dirty, there were mud spots (or what i assume was mud) all over the comforter and the sheets, the pillow cases were DISGUSTING they had brown spots all over them and with a simple wipe with soap and water the spots came off. I checked under the beds and there was GARBAGE under the beds. I would never recommend this hotel to any one because of the horrible service i had received from the management. Completely disappointed and will never return to the nugget.

I got food poisoning from the buffet last night! The food never looks appetizing, and the cookies are stale. The best thing about the meal were the drinks, probably because they weren't prepared by the staff. You need to get someone who actually knows how to cook and can speak English! ! 45 minutes after eating, we were throwing up and on the toilet! The salad bar had NO LETTUCE, you don't have any markings above the "food" to let a customer know what is in front of them. You have gotten rid of all the perks to bring people in, and your buffet sure ISN'T going to do it! ! The SteakHouse is VERY GOOD though, but you have to be rich to eat there. The restaurant, although good compared to the buffet, has the WORST staff ever! ! You can be the only one in there and have to wait to order, and have to wait to be served. Your customer service is not good!

Went out to check out the casino, casino was clean but I didn't care for the poor air quality inside.

Complete dive, paint peeling in the rooms, beds are horrible. Staff is cranky. We have punished ourselves and stayed there a few times hoping it would be better. About a year ago I had a seizure in the casino, security just walked by, guess they just thought I was a drunk girl falling from my chair...even that should've received some attention.

Kind of older rooms and the entire hotel feels dated. The restaurant is pretty good and they do have keno so that's always fun. The staff is always nice and friendly.

Great prices. Only need hotel for sleep and it's great for that.

This hotel was the worst!!!! Three first room we got was decent although the whole 4th floor smelled horrific. Our tv stopped working so they switched is rooms and the 1st floor smelled even worse and the room was disgusting. Bathroom hasn't been swept in probably a year, and the door looked like it had been kicked in. Everything seemed dirty and the tv in this room didn't work either. There was a jacuzzi bath tub but we didn't use for fear it was as dirty as the rest of the room. The food in the buffet made us sick.... literally sick. The staff was horrible they couldn't have cared less that the hotel was disgusting. Worst hotel experience of my life.

I love playing here, sometimes they need to work on getting you drinks faster but most of it is great

We spent the night in the jacuzzi room and I was great for the price. And the casino was nice and food was good.

we had a great buffet dinner but our room was terrible the bed was bad the mattress was just worn out the room just didn't look clean and the shower door if you want in you can't get out so it was not a good trip

The sheets had weird stains all over them and the shower had mold. The toilet would not flush so I went to the front desk to tell the girl working that we needed to get this fixed. She could not care less and just said she would send someone to look at it. The men looked at it and said we need to flush it multiple times and hold it down in order to work properly. I later found out the drain in the sink would not work either. The people working at reception should learn more about customer service and the Nugget needs to clean up their rooms and fix their bathrooms. Would not recommend to anyone.

Amazing room, beautiful scenery, and the jetted tub is to die for! Will definitely be coming back! Thank you to the GM for making things right after our bad experience with red garter. You guys went above and beyond!

Nice location, rooms are oldish and not maintained as well as they should be,fan in the bathroom didn't work,and the paint was peeling off the ceiling..The heating in the room wasn't working,kept blowing cold air no matter how I set the archaic thermostat that was probably made in the 80-ies...The water pressure and temperature in the shower was great, but the sink faucet had only two settings-too hot and scorching hot..Overall, not a bad experience, but nothing to write home about either...

Terrible Service. I receive monthly offers in the mail. Called Wednesday to book room for Sunday night. Mentioned on phone I had coupon for free night. Once we arrive I have now been told I should not be receiving the mailer because my account is inactive, lack of play.

Guest services and staff are superb and very helpful. Rooms and amenities feel a bit dated but are still nice. Couple of the rooms had a spider problem.

Very dirty room. We had a cockroach in our bedding. I would never stay here again.

The bed was old and squeaked. Bathroom not clean. TIGHT MACHINES.

I really like the shuttle drivers! They make the night fun and they are very patient to all the intoxicated people trying to have a good time.

Cheap place to stay in Wendover but still close to everything.

Room was no smoking but had cigarette burns in the carpet had a hole in the wall. Went to the buffet for dinner food was terrible. Prime rib was cold, overall the Buffet was the worst i have ever been to.

Worst casino I been to. We came to this place because it said it was kid friendly. Turns out the arcade is closed. All 5 employees that I asked to have a deck of used casino cards refused said that they didn't have any. I been to alot of casino and they give them out for free.

There new management is working hard to help with promotions. I know with time the atmosphere will get even friendlier.

Popped into the Starbucks. Looks like there is remodeling work going on as there were pallets and rubble all over. There were a group of children unsupervised hanging around the Starbucks which is odd as it's right next to the casino floor and they are usually very strict about it. Only coffee shop I've been to that didn't have creamers or milk for customers. I was in a hurry so I didn't go back to the busy counter to ask for any.

It is so much fun. There is lots to do. I highly recommend.

My stay at the Nugget was much like any other stay at most hotels. It is a nice place to sleep, shower, eat and if you'd like to, gamble.

Spent some time in the arcade with my son and his grandma. Had a good time, but the games were a bit pricey at $1 each and a few were in need of repair. You have to buy tokens for the games so there is no way of being refunded that I know of. They could use some better lighting and definitely a good vacuuming in there.

Seriously disappointed with this place. I called the previous day to make sure they had a pool and it was going to be open. Having a 6 month old we thought it would be good activity for him, since we couldn't get a babysitter. No mention of the "pool party" until we check in. "Pool party" meaning no kids. We get over it and finish checking in. Get to our "non-smoking" room, which has obviously been smoked in due to the overwhelming smell. And the toilet barely flushes. Needless to say we are not staying here again unless its free, with gaming credit.

Nugget is in dire need of an upgrade but is still better than some of the other casinos. It's not as new, not as flashy but the atrium is nice and the floor is easy to navigate. The pit masters aren't as friendly as in some of the other casinos but that isn't odd. All in all its not bad, just not nearly as good either

It was clean but the food was mediocre and the atmosphere was very boring.

A wide variety of machines and tables, and not as crowded as some of the other spots in town.

if i could give this hotel zero stars I would. The rooms are nasty had cobwebs and very dimly lit so you can see how gross they are. Our Bathroom had a fist sized dent in the bathroom door and our toilet handle broke. All of the above was mentioned to the front desk and i was told "Oh we Know." no compensation no sorry just a like it or leave attitude. i thought well maybe its just our room but we had family staying here also and there was a toenail on their floor and tubs were more black then white next time im going to find somewhere else to stay definitely not worth $130.00 a night.

Dropped in at the Starbucks in the morning. Kids at the counter were very nice and efficient. Only problem was parking; the lot wasn't designed to allow us to just stop in quickly and then leave again.
