Wendover Nugget Hotel&Casino Reviews

Poor service and the kios is new but most of the time is not working.

I took my brother-in-law to play roulette. We had fun. We made about $60 in cash.

A good place to start, because it's all uphill from here. It's the worst of the Wendover casinos, but I went out with more money than I went in with. I won't complain too much.

We ate at the buffet and it was absolutely terrible food. The only thing that was good was the ice cream, which is not made on site. We were not approached by any staff while on the gambling floor and when we tried to flag down someone to get help, the personnel just walked the other way. I was highly dissapointed.

This fun bus was actually fun, they have bingo and the black out game give you a free ride, raffle, and also drawing to win $25 free play. Debra and Jessica are the best they made sure that you are comfortable with the temperature on the bus, they offer water if you needed one, and they make sure that you will have fun on the bus when they are hosting.

My friends, husband and I spent two nights at the Nugget this past weekend. We had a pretty poor first impression. When we arrived we were given keys to rooms in the main building on the fifth floor with balconies. We had made online reservations for two king bed jacuzzi suites. When we went up to the rooms we found that neither room had working air-conditioning, the doors to the balconies wouldn't open and one of the the two bedroom doors was basically off of it's hinges. We all decided that had it been one room with a problem or of it were just one problem per room we wouldn't have felt that we needed to complain. We did how ever go back down to the registration desk and spoke with the gal there. She was quick to find another pair of rooms for us and helped us to change over. The second set of rooms were in better shape. By the time we we're settled into the other rooms we were all hungry and tired. We decided that because had arrived on a Sunday we would try to have a nice dinner at the Stakehouse. We found the enterence tucked in behind the cafe and waked inside. The lighting was so dim and there was no host at the desk to greet us that we thought it might have already been closed. When a waiter finally came over to seat us he led us over to a booth that was set for three when we had four larger adults in our party. We all squished together and took our menus. When my husband moved the plate in front of him to make space for all of us, he was disgusted to find dried food stuck to the bottom. He flipped it over to show us then looked at the other two sitting on the table and found large black grease marks on both of them. Since we had been in the restaurant less then ten minutes and hadn't even been offered water and were already disgusted by what we found on the plates we set our menus down and left. We made sure that the plates were upside down to show them why we had just left. After that we decided to spend the rest of our time and money across the street at the Montego Bay.

They should let you know if you are not there by 6 then your reservation will be cancelled.

Spent extra money and got the room with the Jacuzzi and it was in the hall with the skybridge and me and wife wouldnt sleep. All we heard all night was screaming drunk people it was a horrible place to stay.

I enjoyed a fun night in Wendover with my husband. The dealers were fun and helpful. The service was warm and frequent. The buffet was stocked with prime rib, crab legs, oysters, and anything else I could want. This was supposed to be our first stop of the night and turned out to be our only stop!

This is the most disgusting overpriced casino in Wendover. Run down, wallpaper peeling, holes in lamp shades, no coffee maker or microwave! Poor guest service. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN! Rooms need fixing up and we had a horrible experience here on New Years Eve. Theres no excuse for this casino to be so run down!!

This place was a little more rundown still nice and clean and some very fun stuff to do but not as high class as montego

You can tell this place used to be nice but has been allowed to fall into disrepair. Poor customer service. Food was awful. Plugs in the room wouldn't hold a plug in. No mini fridge in the deluxe room we were in. The pool was the only decent thing there.

The hotel rooms were not dirty or off-putting. Had a great time with some very pleasant dealers and a great night sleep!

Just not updating like everybody else there just seem worn out nothing fresh old games old peaple not my place

We love staying at the nugget but were extremely disappointed that we did not get one comp this trip, our main reason for choosing this Hotel. The service was very good, food and staff very good. We have had better rooms for the price.

The room looks clean, but old, the cushion on the chairs are sagging, the curtains got holes on it and won t close all the way, the shower handle is broken. Will not stay here again, by the way, we are on 6th floor.

I don t give the nugget a star had a very bad service in the buffet today me and my family got ham and steak and dounuts everything was last week food ham was black and hard old ugly I think we all are having food poison very bad service and they say they have a vegas chef haha who is can believe that I pay over 100$ to have good food and fresh not that nasty food never come agin I will stay next time montengobay rainbow or pepper mill o pay to night not even that is worth!!!!

Very expensive for what you get.
Plug did hold our plugs. No smoking still smells like smoke. The elevator did work hike up to 5 floor. wall paper falling off bathroom wall. Chair was very dirty and no coffee maker. Next time we go out from slc we just come home.
Plus we did win food very expensive and average

Worse buffet food you will ever eat. Cold, and gross. The service stunk too. The machines kept breaking down, and no one seem liked they wanted to help you. The place is awful

The hotel room was horrible. Stains all over the carpet. The drapes were in tatters so the courtyard bright lights came streaming into the room. The room itself had a funky smell.

On our latest visit to Wendover (last month) we booked our room for three nights, using their free night coupons for two of the nights. Upon check-in, the clerk had no clue how to check us in using the coupons for only two of the three nights. It was a nightmare. I have never had this problem before at the Nugget. The rest of our stay was good. Rooms are always clean and nice. We ate at the coffee shop restaurant and it was very good. Portions were almost too large. Slots weren't kind to me, but had fun in the poker room. Placed in one of their nightly tournaments. Will be heading that way again in August.

This is a reasonably nice hotel but does have a few problems. Mattresses are old and very worn. If the buffet hadn't been free it really wouldn't have been worth it. Flavorless food and not warm with little variety. Cafe, seriously over priced and slow. I finished my meal and waited 30 + minutes to get my bill. I was never checked on or asked if I needed anything like maybe a coffee refill? I like the casino. I found a wide variety of machines and the comps you get are good. Hard to get a drink if you are playing a multidenominational machine. Waitress actually looked to see how much I was playing and then walked away. I still like it there because it has a nice atmosphere. I doubt I'll eat in their restaurants again because there are other places in town that are a much better value. If they want to keep people in the casino they need to improve the food and prices.

The Nugget hotel and casinos members rewards or promotions in the past year have totally ruined my opinion of this casino. I am a rewards member however the last time I was there I swiped my card and played the bowling free game, the machine told me to see customer support to receive my prize and when I did the woman told me I was supposed to wait for the machine to print my prize. The catch is this. My boyfriend used the same machine right after I did and sure enough it printed his prize and the lady still did not make it right.

Love the Wendover Nugget Hotel & Casino. We always try to get there at least a couple of times a year. The staff is always so pleasant and helpful. The rooms are clean and updated.

The best thing that could happen to this place would be a BULLDOZER!!!! Use to be a good place, now its just a hole in the wall, get rid of it. I will never set foot in this dirty place again, love the montego, rainbow, peppermill, they are clean, secure, great staff and restaurants. This place needs to be gutted and start over.

Fun except stupid elevators too the pool didn't work. No signs!

No hot water. Rooms were clean but need maintenance. If you re not gonna stay drunk and spend most of your time in the casino, stay somewhere else. Not worth the price.

If you love to have privacy, fun and a laid back adventure I recommend the fun there!

My husband and I booked a room at your hotel this past weekend. After reading reviews I contemplated canceling our reservations, they weren't great, but I thought I would give it a chance. The first thing the front desk informed me was that they were in the process of trading out Televisions and our rooms TV would not be working. I would have been just fine with this if they had offered a discount for the room but we paid full price, almost $200. There was also no coffee maker in the room which surprised me. I did like the size of the bathtub, that was a plus but I would think twice before staying here again.

Doesn't even deserve one star. Was absolutely awful.. we stayed here only because nowhere else had anything.. our friends stayed at rainbow.. their rooms were very nice.. ours was worse than a motel 6, we paid the same price. Bed that was from the 80's, cold room, heating system was old as hell, on warm it blew just cold air, had light shining in our window all night, shower door wouldn't close, sink drain was broken, very dirty in general, no fridge, no microwave, no coffee pot.. nothing...and we are almost positive the two beds were full sized and not queen as they had said.. very upset.. buffet was awful.. used to be really good...and good luck finding a clean bathroom! Will not be staying here ever again!

The buffet exceeded expectations. Was very clean except the obvious cigarette smell at the entrance... Welcome to Nevada!

There was not one breath of fresh air inside the building. It smelled like bad cologne and cigarette smoke. There are no lights on the pool or even for pool at all. The water was freezing cold even in the "hot tub".

Bed Bugs! Bed Bugs! Stay away from here the tower rooms have Bed Bugs! We got bit from them staying here. Wonder why they are never sold out? Well if you don't want to bring home extra friends in your luggage I'd stay away from here!

Upon arrival we had to wait in line to check in for almost a hour, they had 2 people working (on a Saturday night).When we finally got to our room, it was GROSS! There was hair on the bathroom floor in the corners, but I figured I will not pay attention to it, we weren't going to be in our room much anyway. When we finally came back to our room to go to sleep, there was a stain on the blanket, so that got pulled onto the floor leaving us with just a sheet. I moved the pillow to find more hair in the bed! We didn't even want to sleep in the bed but were so tired we ended up wearing all our clothes and hoodies with the hoods on to get a couple hours of sleep we almost slept in the car. It gets better.... I checked my bank statements and they double charged me for the room!! I have called twice to speak with them and each time I am told the manager is in a meeting. So I still do not have that straightened out and its been 4 days since I stayed there. The dealers are not nice either, they do not make you feel welcome and want to spend money on their tables. If I could give this hotel a negative rating I would. Stay somewhere else or get a tetanus shot before you go!

Two stars for being inexpensive and available. The room and bathroom needed repairs. The carpet had bigs stains, hair found in the bed, and I didn't want to think about what was on the bedspread. We won't stay here again.

The room was nice and the hot tub was well worth the cost. Every few months my partner and I love to come and get away. He comes to gamble where I like to relax in the hot tub and read. It's nice that the nugget is cheap per night than the others making it my first choice when we are in Wendover.

Buffet was terrible. Really needs to be remodeled. Looks and feels dirty!

To bad they don't have a negative star. This place was HORRIBLE. I've stayed there in years past, and it's been ok. I will NEVER start there again !! Cockroaches in several rooms. Dirty, and gross rooms. We had a huge group that went for a dart tournament there. I didn't hear one person say a positive thing about staying there. Elevators didn't work all the time, food was horrible. We ended up going across the street to Montego Bay to eat. DON'T STAY THERE

In the short time that I stayed I can honestly say that it was everything I expected. Beautiful place. I didn't interact with the staff very much but they seemed okay. Honestly the biggest part of it was how well located and beautiful the hotel was.

We checked in desk clerks where all standing by a door that looked like an office as a line grew. When the finally started to acknowledge us two of them left.
Next when we finally checked in the girl acted as if she didn't want to be there or didn't want us there. She took my ID and CC didn't say anything finally handed us our keys with no explanation, or even where are room was located. When I asked she gave me vague directions and turned back to the office. Next once we park and head to our room, the Elivator was dirty and had appearance of falling apart. When we got off on our floor it smells heavy of urine, and the trash and ash rays are over flowing. Now we get in our room it was a little better, but the design still represented the 90s.
Now I'm sure you ask why we didn't just check out go elsewhere. Well I will tell no rooms left in town that we could find and we said we won't be in the room much, and it was clean. Despite old. Now on to the room we left and did are thing for a few hrs and went back and realized the air hadn't been working so we adjusted, and it started cooling. So on we went to the casino's.
We went back around 2am and room was extremely cold, we adjusted temp and went to bed. An hour later it's HOT the air is blowing heat. It's late we adjust again and this morning we wake up cold. We just turn it off and get ready for check out. We had set up late check out but maids still started nocking early even with the do not disturb. So final note on room the paint is peeling in the bathroom and you have to fight to close the shower door.
The Casino itself is good the restaurant is better than good.
So final note they are cheap and the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Well a little off here this is more of a big city bad side motel, than a resort. So be warned. Stay at the 6 if you want cheap. I do not recommend unless you see newly remodeled after July of 2017!!!

Sooooo nice! We had to cancel at the very last minute and they were so nice and understanding! I will stay here next time I go through!!!

Absolute worst experience of my life.
DISGUSTING rooms!!!! Horrible food, and worst of all the customer service. Horrible horrible horrible management. I will never again stay in this hotel

Nice hotel. Lots of food options right in the building. Staff was friendly. Room was clean and the bed comfortable. Will stay there again.

Stayed in the Tower! Don't stay in the Tower if you don't have to. The room was as bad as a run down motel. Smelled like the sewer was backing up. The exhaust fan/vent in the toilet/shower room was not working. The light over the sink was burned out. The bedspread on one of the beds had cigarette burn holes (non-smoking room) in it. The floor carpet was sticky from dirt. I will never stay in the Tower again.
I stayed in the main building last spring and the room there was nice. The Tower must be an after thought for the Nugget.

I come here often and always have a great time I highly recommend it out of all the other hotels/casinos in the area
