Wendover Nugget Hotel&Casino Reviews

The entry should have dead giveaway to the quality of this establishment,
the floors were not swept as large debris were most everywhere.
While walking through the slot machines at least 1 in 9 had a black screen
The machine repair man was also far below professional with his un-tucked shirt and constant f-bombs that my wife and i decoded not only was it time to leave but we will not return to this establishment

I view gambling as a video arcade go willing to lose whatever you put in a machine. With that said i do not go to dirty video arcades either

No blankets on the bed. There were two top sheets. We tried to call the front desk and were on hold for 40 minutes. The only reason we know that is because we actually forgot we were on hold because the phone was on speaker phone. We hung up and couldn't actually believe it had been 40 minutes. The walls are INSANELY thin. You can hear everything your neighbors are doing and vice versa. Lastly, the toilet didn't flush. Staff within the Cafe and throughout the hotel made it clear we were not a priority to literally anything else they could be doing. Will not be coming back.

Pool wasn't open and we were told it would be. Elevators didn't work properly. There was big chuncks of carpet missing. The curtains in the bedrooms were holy and off the track. Very dissatisfied with the stay and won't be back.

Staff is busy talking to each other. Lost my credit card while there. Left and realized it was missing. Tried to call them to see if it was found. Waited on hold for over an hour to be told there security staff was to busy. To handle my call. Drove the hour and a half to check if it was there. Talked to cashier they called security and that took an hour for them to show up then they take my info and proceed to tell me its going to be at least another half hour before she can look for it which turned into an hour it only took her five minutes to go look and kept us waiting. While everyone was busy talking to each other and leaving a customer unsatisfied and not happy.

Pretty good environment depending on what you're looking for. Good price for the quality of the stay. Overall satisfied with our experience.

Omg. Never again. The hotel shows its age. Why room 534 when every room closer is open the restaurant couldn't serve serve the beef carne asada but brought my husband beef enchiladas cause the "beef was bad" only 1 open bar

this is a good casino to I've never had any problems at the Nugget is always been cordial and taking care of any problem I've ever had

Greatest customer service ever. I made and error on the reservation and showed up a day late. They said no problem and still gave me a room What's better than that? Oh yea the concert I missed they gave me tickets to the one that night. Sure not the same artist but a great time was head by us both. Way more than I ever expected.

The casino itself was pretty quiet. Had dinner in the cafe, service was good. Sandwiches we're okay. The deluxe nachos on the other hand were among the best I have ever had

So dilapidated Rundown beat up.. We've attempted just playing here. But sadly the casino is just gross. The workers sadly match the equipment and building.. I would never stay here..we had black on our hands just from one table.. The Nugget has lost it's luster.

Just stopped in to get some coffee at Starbucks. Parking lot and casino did not seem to be connected and getting from the parking lot to the main building was confusing.

Room was about the same quality as an aging Motel 6. Desperately needs rennovated.

The room was perfect. The atmosphere was great. All employees were wonderful and helpful. Definitely will be coming back.

Light bulbs very dim made the room very dark.
Ice machines didn't work on the first 3 floors. Front desk was very rude and would not help EVEN when I had a toddler in the room with me.
Shower didn't look clean at all.
Asked for a handicap non smoking and didn't get either.
Glad I didn't pay for it.

Love the slots where you go fishing!! Other than that, the vibe is dead.

The check I process was simple although the employees seemed like they hated their life When we first arrived to our room it was filthy. There were what looked like throw up stains on the curtains, stains on the carpet. The bed was stained, the comforter (if you can even call it that) had holes in them and the bed wasn't even made all the way. Oh and also our sink didn't drain. Another thing to note is there is no coffee pot, mini fridge, or microwave in these rooms.

This place was disgusting so I spoke with the manager to get a new room. She did provide us a new room that was definitely a lot better although I did cut myself on the balcony door and the front desk didn't have band aids. Bottom line is I will not be staying here in the future and I would not recommend this hotel to any one else. Ever.

I wish I could give them no stars. We got into our hotel after waiting in line for a while and the front desk is just plain rude, we didn t have any soap in our room, and the vending machines on our floor didn t work so it took forever to find one that did. And when we did it ate our money TWICE. We would call room service but their number is disconnected. I m just annoyed. Lost a customer.

The only reason it got 1star is jet tub worked. Curtains were ripped. Lamp shocked you when turned on. Shower head was broken and hole in bathroom wall. Coffee plug burnt out in bathroom. Smelled like propane in hall. Motel 6 would of been better than the suite we paid for. We complained right after check in. with pictures. Manager just put notes on the room.no sorry nothing. We won't ever stay there again ever.

If your considering staying at the nugget, stop considering right now and find anywhere else to stay. I should have just slept in the car. I stayed there because the bigger casinos were booked. I stayed in what they consider a 'deluxe' room, and if that's deluxe then their dumpsters must be the standard rooms. I will stay home before staying there again. The cold water in the bathroom wouldn't even turn on, not even a drop would come out. There was no plug in the sink and you could see an old moldy toothpaste lid down in it, the curtains hadn't been cleaned since the hotel was built, oil all over the nightstand and room phone, filthy floors, window lock was broken, not 1 thing was right with this place. I informed a manager and was told my card had already been charged and there was nothing they could do for me. I don't think I could be more disappointed or pissed of at this place, I don't think it is humanly possible. Run as fast as you can from the nugget and don't look back.

Rooms are super outdated and run down. Casino was fun plenty to do.

We always stay at the Nugget when we visit Wendover! We always get good rates and friendly service :)

We had two rooms for two nights and we had two free stays for one night each. They tried to make it as confusing as possible but figured out they were charging us full price. Also the manager at the front desk was extremely rude for no reason. We were very nice and polite, and she was snappy and apparently in an awful mood. We ended up checking out early and going over to the Peppermill which was a much better experience! It's a little more expensive but I don't feel like they were trying to rip me off, they were professional and it was all much nicer.

We usually make the Nugget our first stop in wendover. This last time was pretty terrible though. Some buttons on the slot machines are going out, and the craps dealers were terrible. No personality, terrible vibe - no wonder the table was empty when we arrived.

This place should be condemned! It's TOTALLY DISGUSTING!!!!!!!

I have been having issues with my players card for over a year. I go to the VIP area to get resolved...they do not treat me like a VIP.

Awful Place. It is not clean. Old and worn out. It looks like no one is planning on keeping it going for much longer either. That will be a good thing.

Disguising, outdated, no refrigerator and over priced. They should take the money they spent in the entry way and put it into the rooms. Never again

We have been coming to the Nugget for 20 years. We were very disappointed on our recent visit. No heat in the room. None of the "coupon machines" were working. Most of the perks that we have enjoyed are now gone.

It was cool inside and relaxing and have a huge selection of slots. But the waitresses or runners, what ever you want to call them, their service is really slow and you don't get your free drink for a while if at all. I ordered a beer and it never came, so I had to go to the bar and get my free beer. Talk about either slow or talking to the patrons too much or too long.

We don't stay at the nugget, we do gamble there sometimes though. It's nice enough and we plan on trying out the hotel some time.

Fun place, some of the dealers are rude we just don t let that ruin our fun!

I will give 2 stars because I love to gamble here. The restaurant staff is rude, the front desk is rude and the rooms are dirty and dingy. Towel racks falling off the wall, wallpaper coming off, carpet coming up....
Bring alcohol with you to the casino floor because you can t get a drink to save your life from the cocktail waitresses. We keep trying to give this place another shot and every time it s just a huge disappointment.

The most unhelpful front desk staff ever. Stay away from here please. If I had another choice I wouldn t have stayed here but it was the weekend and other hotels were booked up. If I m returning to Wendover, I will be booking a room in advance somewhere else.

Gave us a suite with no working tv. They didn't want to give us another suite and I refused to stay. They then magically had another suite. Won't go.back.

The Wendover Nugget is the only place we stay when we go out to have fun. We love the slots and the payouts are great. We enjoy the buffet and make sure we book online to receive the buy one get one free food ticket. If your looking for fun and excitement, the Wendover Nugget is the place to go!

I drove long ways to get here and the day before seemed like a mess and very stressful so I called into the front desk. I spoke to LaSara on the phone. She was very helpful and eased any stress I felt like I had. She actually made me more excited to get there. I would have never thought she was the new girl the way she handled me. When I arrived at the front desk she definitely attended to me. I know space was limited but she made sure I was checked into a nice room that would accommodate my needs not only for me but my whole family. There was young man at the front desk who seemed very annoyed at his job. I felt more comfortable going to the front desk for anything needed since I knew LaSara would assist me with whatever I through at her.. and was shocked to see the same young man was playing cards with the other man working. The room had a few things that were out of shape but when you have great staff it makes you forget about it. Maintenance is very slow when needed but overall one person made my vacation better. So I m not complaining!

I would like to express my total dis-satisfaction with our stay at the Wendover Nugget.
To start, the directions to park the car and get to the room, where bad. Even the check-in clerk made a joke about us looking lost, we were.
Then we got to our room, no Air Conditioning or hot water, in the bathroom sink shower worked. An engineer was sent up, agreed on how hot the room was and no hot water in the bathroom sink . Said he would have to make adjustments. OK. We cleaned up and decided to go gamble a little and have a glass of wine. We had to hunt down a waitress for ever order, and when we finally found a waitress they never smiled, like they hated there job, even when we tipped them they where very un-friendly.
So we come back to the room, still warm but not hot. We get up the next morning to yet another round of cheer. I go to blow my nose, 1-tissue in the container, small issue but things just keep adding up. Went to get in the shower, NOW there's no hot water anywhere. Another call to the front desk and a visit from the engineer. He fixed the hot water issue. My recommendation, just don't stay here!

It was fun for me. I got bored a few times because it seemed to me that the Nugget wasn't as up to date with the world today as other places I went. A lot of their machines were broken down including the atm that I was wanting to use to spend more there. I'd go back if my friends or family paid for me, but not so sure I'd go by myself

Nice hotel. Much has Been remodeled and re-done in the main part of the hotel. If you stay here I suggest you get a sweet it is definitely worth a few extra dollars you pay. The staff is not overly friendly and that is the only reason I did not give it five stars. The buffet is mediocre at best. The martini bar inside is nice and makes a pretty decent drink at a reasonable rate as well. First hotel on the strip that s why we chose it and happy we did.

The nugget is ok. I went there for Valentine's however, I lost my favorite ring and the staff was mediocre with helping me.

The host are disrespectful they don't fix anything in the hotels we had to stand there for 45 mins to get our door to open and nobody that works there knows anything that is going on so asking for help is a joke and most of the people that worked there had attitudes with you just for asking questions for help but the gift shop was nice

This casino has the worst buffet. Sign stated Sunday brunch begins at 7am and didnt open until 9am. Food was terrible and cold. Cant melt butter on cold waffles. Never saw our waitress. Staff does not understand English so makes it difficult to order omelette. It didnt used to be like this. Management should be fired and staff trained.

The environment is perfect in many ways, the entertainment is good overall. Sunday night is live with something every week throughout the year. The food is great in all venues, and prices to accommodate a filled experience overall. Generally a good time and good people around every corner for you to find at the bar, poker room, tables games, and slots.

Its nice weekend getaway. The casino is nice, but needs a few updates in rooms, restaurant & casino probably to due to economic hard times. Not run down, real clean, staff a bit slow. Over all nice place deposit reasonable didn't get back right away day two we'll see.

Ouch. You can absolutely tell that they have aligned themselves with the Red Garter. Totally dead in here.

The room was borderline gross, holes in walls, wallpaper falling off.

The room wasn't too horrible, but the carpet was old and stained. The bed was pretty comfortable, so that was nice! The Casino wasn't as good as Montego, my husband got in trouble for cheering after they won a hand at one of the table games. It was a bit silly.

Casino was fun, had a lot of tables open so it was easy and fun to play

I went to this place for 2 days and both of them there was no customer service in this picture and to get a players card I had to get it in the gift shop where this lady and some guy with glasses was giving attitude to different people that was wandering where's customer support, that was the first day. Second day no support and couldn't redeem player points and this is in the morning. To much to talk about just No but the games was ok.

FRAUD. BE AWARE. We booked what was called a "Premium Suite" through Expedia. It was not a *suite* AT ALL, much less a "premium suite." It was a large king room with a second bathtub added later, right next to the bed. So strange. Room was about like an 80s Motel-6 for $250, and other customers were typical Motel-6 customers. Furniture was badly worn, doors were badly worn, 80s wallpaper was badly worn, carpeting was badly worn, light fixture was missing, towel rack broken, too many similar things to mention. Did not stay. Could not get a refund from hotel or Expedia. Will not use hotel or Expedia again. Came in a Mercedes AMG, used Expedia weekly for first class flights and new hotels, but I was treated like I was their regular trash. Manager would not even acknowledge me when other clerk told her at the desk. Never received a phone call. Now a former customer of Expedia, going to dispute the bank charge for this FRAUD. SCAM. STAY AWAY.

The whole building has an old smell, like dust. There's nothing really special there aside from Starbucks.

Really run down rooms. The black out curtain did not meet plus big holes in it. Definitely did not keep out the light. No towell rack in the bathroom, just putty over the holes where it was. Blue painters tape holding things ti the wall. No in room coffee pot. They couldn't find original reservation at check in so made new reservation but ended up being charged a no show. They did day they would take it off but won't know for a week or so. Staff was so unprofessional at check in, did not acknowledge that I was even there. Put me in a room that was already occupied, didn't know this until after 2 trips back to the front desk for keys that didn't work. I got a coupon on line for half off so I paid 60 thank goodness, if I had to pay rack rate would have been a joke for the condition.

Staying at this hotel is very poor! The staff doesn t care about you or your needs. We waited over 2 hours for maintenance to help us with a problem. The room is dirty and there is mold in the bathroom and it just seems this place has really gone down hill and they nickel and dime you for everything that you need. Not a good place to stay anymore!!!! Very very disappointed with this place I really used to like this hotel will stay somewhere else from now on when I come out here even if I have to pay more to stay somewhere else!!!!

Understaffed, which caused long lines for rewards card, bar, and check in. Jacuzzi suite: toilet malfunctioning and ran all the time, low water pressure, needs repainted ceiling.

The room was not very clean. There was no cold water so the shower was blistering hot. The heater was noisy, and it was very overpriced. The restaurant (Golden Harvest Cafe) was backed up for a half an hour to get seated. Then it took another have hour until we got our food. I asked 3 times for cream for my coffee and salsa for the breakfast burrito (which wasn't bad but would have been better with salsa), but never got it. My wife ordered steak medium well and they burnt it. When we finally finished eating, the waitress brought us the bill, and watched me sign so that she could shame me into a tip. Will never go back.
