Loved it. I thought it was fascinating reading the history & timelines. Hearing Walt s voice throughout the entire building.
Really well laid out. Beautiful time pieces & artwork. Detailed info.
Give it a few hours 2 min to do it properly. We only had 1.5 hrs and I had to skip a lot of listening. I think Walt was really remarkable and courageous for his time.
Lovely reading and seeing photos of the family.
Well done.
Postcards 2 for price of 1 and only $0.25 each. Other items I thought were less expensive than Disneyland gift shops.

A must for any Disney lover. This is a very well curated museum all about the life of Walt Disney and his family, the history of the Disney characters, and the Disney parks. There are some extremely unique pieces there, like the first Mickey drawing, Walts model train, interactive displays about sound effects and animatronics, and much more. Make sure to leave yourself at least two hours to fully enjoy this great museum. Great view of the Golden Gate Bridge from here as well.

My best suggestion is try to get to the second floor as quick as possible. First floor is basic history of Walt's family which is interesting but can tire you out to the point you don't fully enjoy the end of the museum. All the fun history is upstairs!

Great experience. Loved all the info about Walt through his life. It was amazing just to see all the Oscars he won in real life. Well worth a trip for Disney fans. An amazing experience. Very glad I went here.

Worth the $25 admission fee. There is a lot to learn here about a man's personal history, as well as California history as you explore how events and circumstances around Walt Disney shaped his life, career, and beliefs. Good for school groups, history buffs, and people in the animation profession.

This museum is not part of Walt Disney, but instead it is inspired by him. The museum has caught the attention of Disney and the public by the rich history it provides of Walt Disney and his passion in building his dream throughout the years. Disney has donated artifacts to be displayed at The Walt Disney Family Museum so fans can learn and see his primitive art work and that of those who were there when it all began. It is truly a thriving experiance when one can see how it all began and the adversity he went through. My favorite part of the museum was being able to see his struggles during the Great Depression and World War II and his relentless effort to maintain Disney alive so someone like me can visit the happiest place on Earth over at Disneyland.

As the name suggests, Walt Disney's life has been followed by a museum. From the birth he can be interested in cartoons, movies, and know the till the Disney World is built up. Many original drawings drawn by himself and valuable old works are preserved, and if it is a Disney fan it is a seductive one. Although it is a little away from the classic sightseeing route, you can visit the walk from the Golden Gate Bridge on foot.

An amazing museum, highly recommended not only for families and children. Their performances include Walt's recordings from various stages in his life, and a very beautiful Disney World performance. Plus they renew the display every now and then and at a very nice souvenir shop.

Visited several months ago. Good place to take kids along. I Recommend going here if you grew up watching disney channel and are fascinated about the person who created this huge empire. Educational museum too about how cartoons were made in the starting years.

There's a lot to see, read and absorb. Very detailed Disney family and personal facts about Walt and the Disney Empire. Exhibits keep your interest and as the time line moves forward, you want to learn more. You'll need a minimum of 4 hours to see it all. Not recommended for kids under 10.

Really cool place that you can spend 6 hours just reading and looking at all of the things in this place. Walt had a ton of things and an impressive life. I only hope my life is half as impressive.

Very informative museum about the history and development of Walt Disney! I like the gallery of snow white, you can see a lot of sketches and how they built the characters. The grass field outside is also amazing, adults and kids can enjoy the time here.

Beautiful place to walk around. It's pricey here but that doesn't mean you have to buy anything. Just come see the unique beauty of the Presidio. Take tons of pictures and get a unique view of the Golden Gate Bridge.

You get good view of Alcatraz. Outside there is a good park and lots of parking place.
I didn't like the museum much. There are some shows which really boring. I am lucky to have met Bob there.

We love this museum! Very beautiful site, and an incredible tribute to the man (not the company). A word to parents: although every child is different, this is not a children's museum. There are things kids can enjoy and do (especially the art center downstairs), but this is more of a walk through biography of Walt Disney, who was born in 1901. Many small children may find themselves bored, as there are few interactive elements, although, again- every kid is different. There are lots of amazing images, models, etc to look at, but not too much as far as interactiveness. But it is so stunning and educational inside! I recommend this place to any Disney fan, history buff, art nerd, movie snob and theme park lover. This place is great!

Expensive admission but large museum and lots of information on Walt Disney's life. Definitely made for adults but had a good mix of reading and mixed media to keep you entertained.

The Walt Disney Family Museum is a biographical museum heavy with facts and with little commentary. Having previously read a Walt Disney biography I found little new information but it was fun to see original artwork, artifacts and photographs. The quality of the exhibits were high. However, the film we saw (although they change periodically) was less interesting. You can get a good idea of what is inside the museum from home by visiting their website and selecting Exhibitions -> Online Exhibitions

I worked at Disney World for 2 years, but I never learned as much about Walt Disney as I did on this Museum visit. Photos from the time he was an ambulance driver from Europe until the first machines that made the drawings are there.

The museum is way bigger than it appears. The entry fees are really high IMO. (Should have some roller coasters at that price!) It is definitely a museum on Walt and if that's what you want to see then this is your place. Totally enjoyed the miniature Disneyland and the Still Motion Movie activity. Not a lot to eat in this area. Car break-in so leave valuables at home.

If you love Disney, this is a great museum to go to. It has a bunch of history about Walt and how he made Mickey Mouse into the company that it is. It's not tally about Disney but the man behind the mouse.

There was so much history and so much to see. If you actually read everything in this place, you'd need two days to read all of it. They have so much info on his life. They have tons of info on his family history. They go back to his great grandparents and now his great great grandkids.

There is just so much history to him. It also make you appreciate his efforts to make Disney where it is today.

And boy, would he be disappointed in how the company is running today screwing people over with their outrageous prices and not paying their workers enough. But besides politics, Disney is thriving today with Marvel, Star Wars on their belts.

This museum is all about Walt and it's great.

Parking: paid parking, but lots of it

Beautiful outdoor area

Details of Walt Disney's twins, including his rise and works, exquisite content, careful shopping should take two to three hours, the counter has a variety of language translation machines can be borrowed for free, as long as the certificate or credit card can be, don't forget Bring it.

Very interesting and informative about the man Walt Disney himself and the origin and history of his company. Younger kids who don t do well in museums might find it boring as there is a lot of reading but the museum has a decent amount of artwork to explore

Really cool and interesting to see the story of the man behind all the magic. I learned a lot about his background and the various struggles starting up. Definitely more for the adult or teenager crowd than little kids who like Disney.

Cool museum dedicated to the life of Walt Disney. Talked about the innovation and ground breaking work he did to bring animation to mainstream entertainment and talked about his vision to bring those animations to real life through amusement parks.

Like everything about Disney, the museum is very well set up, interactive, great tour for kids and adults. In addition to knowing the family history through photos, you can see the entire process of creating the characters. Sketches, photos in the studios, incredible.
Cafeteria and shop very nice.
Enjoy to know the region. Worth the ride. Admission $ 25.00

Blown away. I didn't expect such a high quality, well designed museum experience. Was nice to learn about Walt Disney and earlier rise of the company and origins of Disneyland. My kids were upset before we went that they didn't have rides, but they still had a blast!

Fantastically funny show. Great comedians and a cool atmosphere. Was here for a getaway with the missus and we went here randomly, well worth it.
It was only $15 a ticket, with a little bar downstairs with fairly priced drinks. Show lasts just over an hour. We had five comedians each take around 10-15 minutes. Laughed a lot and I am not one to laugh at anything. I found them ALL very funny. Do this on a night out, you won't regret it!

Nice place to spend a few hours with kids (although it is a nice place for adults too). Did in the cafeteria is not great and I would suggest to eat somewhere else around the presidio.

A veritable Holyland (see what I did there?) for Disneyana folks. The rafters are packed with exhibits, memorabilia, and artifacts from the life, works, and continuing influence of Walt Disney. This museum is not meant for children and especially not for kids under 10. The museum not only chronicles Walt's LIFE but it also charts through the Walt Disney Company's history in a more broad stroke kind of way. Ultimately this museum extends far beyond Walt Disney and his company (that has "NO" affiliation with museum) and does a an even greater job of demystifying animation before convincing you once again that it really is just magic. Some interactivity and the staff is generally pleasant. Weirdest thing is to have a docent tell you how jealous they are of you because you live near Disneyland... and they all do. The museum also features an in house theatre which allows guests to see various Classic Disney films on the silver screen (I have seen "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." You should too) and let me say that nothing beats it. The gift shop is very small, one might call it intimate considering the handicrafts that also occupy the space. Do not expect to pick up the latest and greatest Disney nick-naks but instead more Main St. USA (did it again) homages to Disney products. I suggest getting the early films of Walt Disney on DVD there which features many of Walt and Company's many early animated shorts. Finally, consider supporting the museum. It is a wonderful place.

You can see many life of Walt Disney. It was fun to see a lot of classic Mickey.
If you have a passport, you can rent a Japanese audio guide. (Unconfirmed, you may be able to listen to the Japanese audio guide by downloading the official application.)

For a Disney lover.. awesome!
Here's the thing, every part of the museum was great MINUS the children running rampant. If you're going to bring them, WATCH AND DIRECT THEM... there is far too much to read and watch without children ruining it.

Devote quite some time to traversing the museum because it's 4x bigger than you expect it to be when walking up. The special exhibit was fantastic as well!

I recommend finding a way to purchase tickets prior to entry. We got ours through a credit card perk and spent 1/2 of what they were at the door.
