Well Done. One of Northern California s best museums.

If you are a Disney fan, this museum is a MUST for you.

It is a museum in honor of the founder of Disney, it is far and not very well indicated

I took my students here a couple of months ago because I had never been before and my students recommended it as a suggestion for our Art Club Field Trip. We had an amazing time. First, there is a perfect place across the road to have a picnic lunch with views of the GG bridge. There also was plenty of parking. The building looks a lot smaller on the outside, but inside there are floors of history, art, and the journey of Disney. We went specifically to view the Glen Keane Art Exhibit because Glen Keane is one of my favorite artists. The special exhibit was everything I dreamed it would be and to my pleasant surprise, the rest of the museum was just as excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful (especially considering I had lots of kids with me to manage) and the content of each gallery gave a new story that I never knew about Walt Disney. My kids were a bit older, but the galleries had a lot of places where you could pick up something and listen to a story or watch a video, so I think it would be good for younger kids as well because of how interactive it was. It was really special for anyone who loves Disney or is just fascinated with learning something new. My only wish was that we had more time! Also, the gift shop had a lot of really cool books, artworks, post cards and unique gifts.

Wonderful exhibit but exhibit but not really for small children. There's so much to learn about Walt Disney here. Beautiful artifacts on display.

Great little museum for both children and adults. Large parking area and the surrounding views are also beautiful. Seeing is to believing.

Because Walt Disney saw things through a child's eye , a visionary ambition and eventually a well fit entrepreneurs check book. Therefore we have so many ideas and movies and dreams built from such.

If you like Disney and are interested in the history of the company this is the place to visit. Make sure you have 3 hours to spare, there is so much to see that it can't be done in less time.

A wonderful gem of a museum. Extremely informative about the man that created so much. Great interactive exhibits and you can spend a lot of time reading in great detail about the life of Walt Disney and the original Disney company. Highly recommended.

A lot of stuff I never would even think about looking for! Crazy cool if you re a disney fan, otherwise kinda boring.

A great place to go and learn more about who walt disney was. It's very well organized.

It was a great experience to see Walt Disney's history. Make sure you arrive in time to spend a few hours looking at the exhibits.

Amazing to just be immersed in what he himself created and where he came from!!

I personally am an avid Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks hobbiest, I personally stayed there for 4 hours and haven't even finished veiwing the other half of it. It's fascinating, the theatre talk tickets gave us access to Don Iwerks talk about Ub Iwerks along with the book signing. Highly recommended but please ask for which tickets for which exhibits and don't buy the Mickey Mouse exhibit unless you're positive you can make it. My feet are in pain from walking just like in Disneyland.

If you are a Disney fan, you must come to this place! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Permanent exhibition 20/person, children (under 18 years old) 15/person, which tells the story of Walt Disney's life... Let's explore it! (There are small games!) The disadvantage is that there is no Chinese in the navigation headset! When you go, you can do some homework on the website first, and you won t have a face when you visit!

An experience "Must". We've learnt a lot during our visit about Walt Disney along with the American and world history.
I was told that the museum has nothing to do with the Disney Parks & Resorts nor the Disney company.
It is located inside the Presidio which is a very nice area of San Francisco with an amazing view of the Golden Gate.

A great place to visit if you are a Disney fan or if you want to learn more about the man behind the mouse.

If you love Disney in General and Walt in particular, visit this gem of a museum, started by Diane, Walt's Daughter. New exhibits and Disney films are extra, but included in a membership, which is well worth it.

Great museum. Lots of info about Walt Disney & film making. Don't go thinking it's a. "kids museum"

Great little backstory to what's shaped up today's animation industry.

I found the museum really interesting, but my young kids were quickly bored with all the sketches and background info.

Amazing place with many details of Walt Disney life

Came here on a rainy Thursday night and had a really fun time. My favorite parts were the rainforest and aquarium. Overall, I loved seeing all the reptiles, animals, amphibs through the glass. Sometimes it felt like you were playing "where's waldo" when you were looking for the creature through the glass.

I'd this museum wasn't here we may not have stopped in SF. Exceeded my expectations

Loved it. It seems small from the outside but my husband and I spent 4 hours there! Great place to visit with your partner. One small thing that annoyed me. You can take pictures as long as flash is off everywhere except downstairs apparently. No sign is posted and I got yelled at to not take pictures downstairs. Instead of explain why some other very nice young lady explained why the photo policy was different down stairs and it was a simple mistake. The older woman could have just said so instead of running up behind me, yelling and making me feel like I was running off with one of the darn pictures. She was so loud and condensending it made me really embarrassed. Especially because I always make it a point to ask if pictures are okay.

This was kinda interesting if you like the old Disney stuff like fantasia and micky mouse. I learned a few things as well.

Great museum! but is starting to show it's age with upkeep

If you are an animation fan, it is worth spending your time. However, the ticket price is relatively high.

Inspiring, learn the details of how one man could achieve so much in a lifetime. I left feeling the desire to start drawing again, and to wonder about the enormous legacy of an entire animation industry spawned from the pioneering efforts of Disney and co. Walt's political legacies, and his unfair treatment of his own workers during strikes at Disney are also covered, and I felt the museum struck an appropriate balance between reverential and truthful.

This place is an absolute gem. In addition to the terrific permanent collection, the exhibitions are always wonderful. The food in the cafe is quite good, and they're located next door to a wonderful Spanish inspired restaurant.

Loved every second I spent there. Very informative. I would love to go there again.

The museum is a must see if you are in San Francisco.

This museum presents a version of the Walt Disney story critics might describe as "white washed". Still, a neat place to spend a few hours, whether or not you're a Disney fan.

The museum itself is quite interesting but it's not $25 interesting.

Lovely museum. Heaps to see, lots of information. Quite a large museum. Really enjoyed learning all about Walt Disneys work but also learnt a lot about his personal life here too. Well worth a visit.

I thought it was all overpriced; tickets, food, drinks and Gift shop. You can go to a better attraction/museum for the price you'll pay.

Very expensive for a museum, but if you're really into Disney, it's definitely worth it. Even if you're like me and somewhat into Disney or grew up with Disney films as a kid, it's worth going through at least once. Lots of history that covers just about everything related to Walt as a person and Disney as the company. Just not worth for me at least to go again.

WOW it is really comprehensive life story of Walt Disney and his wonderful characters which I grew up with. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting San Francisco.

If you grew up watching Disney cartoons and films you definitely have to visit this museum. The roots and history of the world of Disney are here along with all his achievements.

It was great. I like the museum apart from going down memory lane about the life and times of Walt Disney and the family. It goes a whole lot which is not known about Disney. Definitely worth going: I learned the value of team work, tips on creativity and inspiration.

Amazing experience, loved seeing all the old awards and sketches that started it all

I've enjoyed this place very much. Not only it gives the opportunity to pry into the "backstage" of several Disney classics, but also it offers a unique glance at the story of a man who gave shape to a great dream.

Disney's facilities are very good, and the Golden Gate Blit seen in the background is also beautiful.
However, a large amount of cocoons fell on the lawn in front of me, so be careful when walking.

I had no idea this museum even existed until a few months ago. Went there with my daughters youth group and a chaperone and it was great. I had recently been reading about Walt Disney's brother Roy Disney and how he was the mastermind behind the financial parts of the business.

Very beautiful museum, lots of information about the history of Disney. It's amazing how far animation has come.

There are an abundance of Disney related things to view here. Allow plenty of time to linger.

Don t go here and don t pay your money. You can see all of this on the Internet and Disney is rich enough to show his photos and videos for free. I feel like I got robbed.

So much fascinating history. The display of artwork from the announcement of Walt's death was so sweet.

The museum is already a delight showing the true history of Wait Disney and his family and how the Disney Empire started. With the current Nine Old Men exhibition is a complete treasure. So much at work, so much talent, so much insight. Just brilliant.

Loved learning about Walt Disney. It s definitely more for adults, than children. However, they have great Disney Golden Books in their shop to purchase.

Lovely museum and very educational. There is a ton of information about Walt Disney s childhood and life, much of which is not related to cartoon or movie making. If you re a fan of him as a person or are those people who enjoy reading about famous people s private lives this is for you. I find the sections about his movies a little boring at times. Not a museum for kids, that s for sure.

Fantastic museum on the history of Walt Disney and its business. From its modest beginnings to the incredible development of its empire. It is fascinating to follow the journey of this man who is passionate about animation as well as the management of processes and operations! Will please both artists and entrepreneurs!

Interesting exposition, really nice staff, lots of photo and video materials- impressive!

Delightful experience- Great food/view too! I did notice that while san Fransico is such a crowded and general chaotic place, you can settle down at this little peaceful area to sort of 'get away' while still in SanFran. Just found that interesting.

If you're genuinely interested in the history of Walt, Roy and the result of their magical partnership, this is the place to visit. The exhibits are interactive, so all ages will appreciate the learning process, and special workshops, limited time exhibitions and film viewings add some extra fun to take in. The location is gorgeous, albeit a bit removed from San Francisco proper, so if you're traveling, I would plan around that.

As a huge fan of Walt Disney, this place is magical. Everyone there is very knowledgeable and the exhibits are extremely detailed.

Great museum to see the history of Disney the man and not too much fluff on his characters.

I enjoyed learning more about Disney and his family. I had read a biography on Walt Disney so I already knew a lot of the information there, but it still took me at least 2 hours to explore and I could have taken longer. I liked how the elevator made you feel like you were in a train car. So creative. Pictures without flash were encouraged. Definitely a must for Disney lovers!

Why is this in SF, I have no idea. It's a great spot though. If the history of disney interests you, then go for sure.

Very interesting place for family and alone. Colorful presentation of Disney family and career. Starting from great grandfather in 1833 to the sad Mickey in 1966 and the development of Walt Disneyland. Cafe for lunch and tea.

History of Disney revealed, where'd he come from, how he get to where he did. An amazing history

It is the museum of Walt Disney, the creator of Mickey Mouse. As well as those who like Disney, adults can also enjoy it in terms of entertainment. You can lend a Japanese earphone if you give out your passport or ID in the hall. Because it is on the way from San Francisco downtown to the Golden Bridge, it is good for a way. If the time matches, you can access from the downtown with a free shuttle.
The area around the museum seems to be a residential area and I think that it is good to enjoy a walk. However, there are no supermarkets and convenience stores in the surrounding area, so I think that it is better to have water etc.

Great place if you want to get to know Walt's story. You wont find much about the parks but you do get an idea of what happens behind the scenes and a glimpse into Walts vision.

If you're a true Disney fan you need to visit. Great history of Walt. The view of the Golden Gate is a surprising treat. My whole enjoyed our visit.

As with anything Disney, you will find first rate entertainment/educational value. It does cost $25to get in and if you park in front of the building, you will have to pay via the meter box on the sidewalk. Otherwise, it's worth the entrance fee 10 times over. I would hope one day they would consider extending their operating hours into the evening. They close late afternoon and all their information is on line at their web site Disney Family Museum.

If you are a true fan of Walt Disney and everything he has created, then this is a must visit place. I had a great time and learned lots of new things about the life of Walt and how he has impacted the world. Even to this day things that he did during his life are still effecting society today. I would visit this place again if I ever return to San Francisco. Highly recommend it.
