What I love about waterloo? Everything! Great amount of music. Some I've heard of and some I haven't. I could spend months in this place! The people who work there are so nice and helpful. Our cashier, Russell, was awsome! Thank you Waterloo for everything! God bless You'all!

Before Austin was named Austin, Waterloo was its name. It's a relaxing place to drink, eat and chat, or just kill time.

Best record store.in Austin. Yes, I've been to End of an Ear and Breakaway but you should too and judge the truth for yourself.

This place is fantastic. Went their on my birthday. There are not enough words to describe Waterloo. Shopping and looking around would take several weeks or more. The staff is so helpful. CD'S, movies, albums and players. Posters, novelty items and that is just a few to mention a few. Even found a mood ring. Drove quite a distance just to buy things. Well worth it. The prices are great too.

This is a good record store in a nice area that you could make a full day out of.

Not living in the Austin area anymore sucks because I could stay all day. Great experience !!

Recently decided to get into vinyl and I had a million questions. The staff was eager to help, very informative, and went the extra mile. Even with how much more difficult their job must be doing only curbside service (and my phone kept dropping the call) it was still a great experience. They even set me up with a punch card for vinyls, and I wasn't even aware Waterloo had this rewards system.

Shoutout to Liam especially for taking the time and researching what the best option would be when I discovered I didn't have the right speaker set up to use my new record player!

Absolutely love the selection of music and movies! Staff is always super friendly and the knick-knacks are all really cool.

A bit pricy, however, they have a good selection of music in vinyl, cd, and movies. They also sell interesting curiosities. I always return to this place.

Visited this rad shop! This place is amazing! They have crazy amount of records and CDs I was very surprised. Everything is organized in its place and it's pretty easy to find anything you want. The place is pretty big and clean.

Still the best record store in Austin. Many have disappeared while this one continues. With the return of actual records, it's actually a record and CD store. Sone video as well. Free parking but can be busy.

There is a reason they are still kicking. I hope they are around for many years to come, they have an extremely large and eclectic collection of music and things to purchase. The staff has been very supportive of your need, no matter how busy.

Great selection here - and obviously a local spot. I ended up buying a Parquet Courts album and some Super Mario magnets. They have a couple record players out for you to listen to records.

I've been shopping at Waterloo for about a year now and it has always been my number one choice for buying music. Great selection of vinyl and all the related accessories, and fantastic prices. I had an experience there today that made me want to finally sit down and write a review of this wonder Austin mainstay. The folks there have always been friendly and helpful, but today Michael went above and beyond. He is probably the kindest person I've encountered as a customer--just one of those people that the world needs more of. Our brief interaction touched me so deeply that I could feel tears welling up as I drove home. Waterloo has always been my favorite place to shop for music, but now I don't think I'll shop anywhere else as long as I live in Austin.

Of course ! the largest selection of CD and other recordings @ Austin, Texas, we would stay for hours to browse the choice of rays, many rare gems are there at Waterloo Records !! To note the many show cases in store!

I go here to buy brand new still shrinkwrapped current albums on vinyl. For used albums or obscure things I'll go elsewhere. For Radiohead and LCD Soundsystem, I'll go here. They also have a great garage punk compilation section if you do want something more obscure.

Lots of gems staff was surprisingly not stuck up I enjoyed my stay and I'm enjoying my siouxsie and the banshees t-shirt

been here a number of times for cd release parties. great place, a bit small and cramped at times but otherwise probably one of the best selections you'll find in austin.

What an amazing place for music. Of course it's in Texas as this place is massive. Found New Old Stock and was not disappointed. Bought 3 albums

Every city needs one in this digital age, and Austin's doesn't disappoint. A huge vinyl collection with additional eccentric trinkets make this a must visit place for those in from out of town.

Amazing selection and someplace every Austinite has to go. They have in store performances for free with complementary beer (I just got to see chvrches last month - awesome!). The staff is wonderful and will really help you out.

Very helpful and kind staff,this is by far my favorite record store. I always pay a visit whenever I'm in the area and always leave satisfied and an empty wallet!

best place to buy local music and vinyl. the parking lot is a nightmare, but the store is worth it.

PHENOMENAL SELECTION! This store has almost everything you can think of in any format necessary. They create a great atmosphere, the staff is friendly, and that area of the city is lovely. Their shows during SXSW are always the best and most fun to attend. I always make sure to come here on a visit to Austin.

This is a great music and movie store.
One of my favorite things about this store is that they hold various in store events from listening parties to autograph signings to in store performances. They even have sales for when UT wins depending on how much the win by, which I think is a cool idea.
They have a very diverse music collection in the store which all music lovers can appreciate.
The only thing is that their prices are a little too high for new CDs and movies. Some of the Criterion Collection films are pretty expensive for some of them being used. But they do have good deals here and there. You just have to search for them like low prices on new arrival CDs and Movies as well as a bin with clearance items.
This place is definitely one the heart arteries of the music city.

Can't ask for a better selection of music, especially local artists which are grouped together in lastest releases. Have several listen stations to hear releases chosen by the staff.

I've been shoping at Waterloo since you were south of the river. I live in San Marcos. We have no record store here. When I'm in Austin I always make a point visiting. Even before record stores started going out of business you were the hippest store around. Great collection of Brasilian and Afro Beat and Jazz.

Not much to say. If you like buying and listening to music the old fashioned way, go here.

fantastic, local record store. yes, they carry vinyl, but they also offer cds, dvds, funky austin gifts, shirts, and tchotchkes galore. you can also sell/trade here and listen to anything in store.

What a place. Huge selection, used and new. If you want to spend hours going through bins of discount records looking for gem, they've got you covered. If you're looking to pick up your favorite modern artist on vinyl or cd, they've got you covered. If you want recommendations or help finding something, the staff are all over it.

I had already found some great stuff on their used vinyl new arrivals rack for cheap, and when I was getting ready to leave, one of the guys stopped me and let me know they were about to bring a bunch more stuff out. Thanks to him I walked out with an armful of gems, and every single one of them at a great price.

I could not have been happier with this store.
As a bonus, my wife was able to bring her dog inside, and everyone was super sweet about it and gave the dog lots of attention. She might have had even more fun than I did. This place deserves every bit of the great reputation it has.
