Amazing time! Food was great, staff was awesome as well!!
Great spot near the Bay Bridge. We always stop there when you come to San Francisco my girl loves the oysters. We sit at the bar and look at the Bay and Bay Bridge
The food and beverages were excellent. The service was even better. I highly recommend ordering the roasted seafood platter and sharing.
Happy hour specials on oysters! Get there early and even then prepare to wait.
Came here for the Happy Hour 1-dollar oysters on a Sunday afternoon. There was a short wait for patio seating. Oysters were good, but everything else was still pricey.
Beautiful Views, and great food. Wonderful experience for the whole family.
The best dish by far was the Hawaiian Walu and the cheese cake was to die for. Did not try the oyster menu however.
Great food and good service. A little pricey but worth it.
Best location for views. Amazing happy hour for $1 oysters!
Went to happy hour on a Sunday for their oysters. A great variety, many I had never had before. They even had $1.00 oysters with a 24 limit per table.
A huge selection of wine and whiskey. Not a great beer selection, but not terrible. The gin and tonic was not good though. The tonic was extremely flat.
Waiter was fine. Forgot our plates though and didnt seem to have a lot of knowledge about the oysters. He said he had not tried a lot of them yet.
Overall pretty good. I would go again.
Great waterside restaurant. Specializes in seafood.
Great seafood menu. Fresh oysters. Nice interior with a waterfront view.
The menu is small with a few interesting options, but more choices would be nice. Service was underwhelming, but they prices are for royalty. Great views and atmosphere though.
Food is of high quality and very tasty. Friendly, professional staff. We went for lunch on Friday and had to wait a lot for food to come.
Can't ask for a better location. Great place to get a few drinks after dinner
Great service and food. Presentation and portion sizes were awesome. Will come back again.
Happy hour on the Embarcadero. You can sit outside, and the glass walls will block the wind while you drink affordable beers and cocktails. The food was also a good deal and all looked great! Next time I want to try the dinner menu.
Our reservation was for 8 o'clock in early June. The sun was set but still fading. The Bay Bridge just outside the glass edifice and gradually came to life with sporadic shimmering and was fully illuminated by 9 o'clock. Our server inquired about my oyster preferences. Fortunately, I was able to remember that I prefer pacific oysters to Atlantic. She helped me to select two species from Washington, and recommended one from New Brunswick with my preference in mind. Her recommendation was spot-on.
This is a nice affordable place for a Fam, plus the seafood is yummy, 4 stars to the unmotivated service there, but still want to back for sure:)
$1 oysters for happy 'hour' which is the majority of the day before dinner service. Friendly staff, but really busy due to $1 oyster demands. Seafood is quite fresh and the oysters are unique to Waterbar.
I went in for a couple of drinks with friends. One of my friends ordered the same drink twice, and it was different each time. The staff couldn't seem to understand it, and it was a little bit awkward. My friend just wanted to make sure it was the right drink, and the conversation took a couple of minutes.
The cocktails we had we're all very nice.
Towards closing time they decided to hold the door to the outside open. We were sitting directly beside the door, so we got cold very quickly, took the hint, and left.
Worth checking out, but a couple of weird things when we were there.
Great service. Great food. Right near the bridge. Great views.
A bit pricey but very good seafood and phenomenal view.
Great views, wonderful appetizers , great dessert , we were a large group and the ahi tuna was over cooked and a disappointment . Service was professional .
Water bar has excellent food, great happy hour options, cool interior, great service, but gets very busy
They have $1.05 Happy Hour, amazing oysters right by the Bay Bridge. I ordered one of their meat dishes, and I didn't think that it was too great. Definitely stick with the seafood.
This place is pretty awesome. A nice place to splurge on if you don't make it during the happy hour.
This is a great restaurant if your in town for a few days and want to hit up tourist areas. The restaurant is pricy but you are actually paying for the gorgeous views that you get of the bay bridge and the bay itself. If your a local then make sure you put this on your happy hour watch. You cant beat dollar oyester by the bay. You can keep that as a wildcard!
Good food and acceptable service. A little. Of better service to client and it would be perfect Good dishes intermediate cost
Excellent bay bridge view. Nice atmosphere and good serving of seafood.
It's a classy joint with excellent food with large portions with excellent service. The two tall ceiling to floor aquariums looked so impressive the atmosphere was very comfortable and lastly there is no comparison on the views of the revamped Bridge
Just so stunning and so close.
All I have to say excellent excellent excellent,,, everything was really good
Superb dishes, service, and ambience. Swordfish is to die for!
We go to Waterbar restaurant 2 or 3 times a month for work lunches and it is our favorite spot! The menu is always amazing and the food is amazing and the service is really good and the setting is gorgeous!
Fantastic food, large portions alongside great service. We will definitely be back and will be making an event of the next visit.
Super cute and cozy place! It's a very small restaurant so there's guaranteed going to be a wait! My sister and I took my parents here since my dad loves cioppino but we weren't near this area.
They took sticky toffee pudding off the dessert menu! Why, God, why?! I'll have to make do with all their other amazing offerings but still.... my heart broke a little today. Can't say I've ever disliked anything at Waterbar! Great staff, bartenders, setting, food, cocktails, wine.
The service was top notch! While the food was high quality overall, the fries were way too salty.
Great food and service. Nice view of the bay. Twenty dollar valet parking.
excellent fish, super crab. beautiful position on the waterfront. very expensive but also super good wine list with Wine Spectator recognition. the waiter is super nice
Cocktails were pretty good. The ambiance was great! Service was good, staff was friendly. Only came here for a drink so can't speak to the food.
They have amazing happy hour and great oysters! Perfect stop before a baseball game!
Nice views, friendly staff, and a great menu. Perfect place for a date or fancy brunch.
Fantastic food, wine, service, and setting. Oyster special was amazing, the mignonette and cocktail sauce were perfect and our server brought a wonderful wine pairing. Truly wonderful experience.
TLDR: My wife and I would recommend this as a good place for a business dinner or meeting up with friends. It is a bit noisy for a romantic dinner.
With reservations it took 10 minutes to be seated, but the staff was friendly and the view of the Bay Bridge was lovely.
The food was limited in selection, but everything we ate was delicious.
The wine selection is ample and the bar was fully stocked.
The restaurant was clean, restrooms spotless, and if you get a window or patio seat, the view is lovely.
Very pricey but you get what you pay for. Amazing, creative combinations of flavors. Great oysters and cocktails. Start with some Kumamoto oysters and a daisy chain.
Great atmosphere, decent food, great service. Sat outdoors at lunchtime. The oysters are good and the salad was quite good. But the view and general environs were great and the waiter was both humorous and attentive.
Excellent location, poor form. We had reservations and still had to wait. They suggested we wait at bar, bar had more than just us waiting. Waiter forgot our wine. This place is great just not under pressure . The wait and ok service just downgrade the experience.
Incredibly good food - great filet of sole, perfect salad, great dessert. Excellent service!
We just stopped by for a couple of drinks while enjoying the views of the Bay bridge. Really amazing cocktails!
Delicious upscale food. If you like fish is right here. The prices are very expensive anyway it is worth it. The view of the bridge is unique. Especially when it gets dark the light play is impressive.
Incredible food, service and view of the Bay Bridge. Can't wait to go back. So good forgot to take a pic of the sticky toffee pudding!!! Oh, and, the the wine and cocktails were yum. A wee expensive but worth every cent
Pretentious from the moment we walked in- got a bit better once they realized we were spending some money... Would not return
The dollar oysters are good and you are by the water. The rest of the food and drinks were just ok and not cheap. I would give the place a higher score if there was better value in the rest of the menu items
Excelent location, very good food for sea food and fish lover, attentive servis. There was only a few hiccups - (mistake in the order and so,) but bottom line - very nice place.
Fresh and light menu, relaxed but romantic ambiance. Would return whenever I'm back
Bad service. Water asked if I wanted my salad before my entree and I said yes. 10 minutes later he said it d be coming at the same time as my entee. We requested bread twice. Took forever to get our meals. Drinks were left empty most of the meal.
Incredible location, incredible staff service and wonderful food. Be prepared to pay for this collective experience. Unassuming, calm, caring human servers really made the evening.
Rudest host in such a high priced place. Happy Hour not worth the 1-hr wait. Open seating is a mess.
Private function was smoothly run with top notch services and food.
The oysters were DELICIOUS! Not a place for children.
Fresh creamy tasty oysters, always memorable fish cuisine, stellar service, pricey but excellent.
Pretty good food, service was a little slow even for an upscale restaurant. Good atmosphere and good views of by the windows.
Good service, but food quality has gone down hill. New menu places an emphasis on shared platters for the table or small plates and bar food / appetizers. No longer a restaurant with a true dining experience. We won't be returning unless they decide to return to bring a real restaurant AND the quality food improves.
I went here last night at 8:30pm with my partner. As the hostess was handing us menus, she asked if we were dining in. I told her that we just needed the cocktail menu. She took the menus back and said they were only open for dinner due to capacity issues. My partner said we could share a small plate with our drinks. She responded with, No, you both have to order full entrees to dine here. We then asked if they were expecting more reservations because the restaurant looked empty. She said it didn t matter, it s a new policy, and we could only stay if we ordered full dinners. If the restaurant had been busy, we would have totally understood. But, we had originally entered from the back dining area, and saw the restaurant was only at 1/3 capacity, with 10 EMPTY tables; Moreover, the restaurant was closing in 30 minutes. I m not sure what kind of rush they were expecting that close to closing.... A simple, we seem slow, let me ask my manager, would have been better than a resounding No.
