The Walker Art Center always has a nice collection of modern art that makes you think. If you don't like modern art you won't like it. Also, the sculpture garden that is next to it is being redone, so dot expect that till 2017

Fun

One of the best art museums in the United States. The museum grounds have a total of eleven exhibition rooms and also houses a cinema, a theater and a number of restaurants. With an extensive collection of 20th and 21st century art, the Walker Art Center is an unmissable attraction for art lovers: Admire the works of such famous artists as Picasso and Giacometti, or enjoy Andy Warhol's Pop Art! The museum also exhibits works of minimalist art by Agnes Martin and Sol LeWitt, as well as works of the modern Italian flow of the arte povera.

The sculpture garden is neat, but I personally didn't like any of the art inside the museum except for the chalk room. I usually try to be open minded about art because art can technically be anything but this museum took that to new level and not in a way I found interesting. It was also extremely short I feel like we had seen everything in a half hour. Overall I was really disappointed.

Very unique & modern art museum with a yummy restaurant inside. However, my family and I were disappointed to see many of the exhibits were closed during our visit! Not the place to go if you'd like to see ancient or prehistoric art.

Adult only section .......it makes me sad that they call this art.

We did not go inside this trip. The sculpture garden is open and free. We had fun exploring it. We went inside a few years ago as it was a free day. I enjoyed the exhibits at that time. I do not live in the area so my knowledge is limited.

My family and I have loved coming here. The exhibits are always interesting and the rotation of installments on the top floor have been intriguing and unique. The mini golf course is worth a play, but it is insanely challenging at times because it is more art than golf. The sculpture garden is a great oasis in the center of the city.

I was on the hunt for ice cream when I stumbled upon the Walker Art Center. Though I was running dangerously low on my cell phone batter, I saw the sign for free admission Thursday(thanks, Target) and decided to check it out. I loved it. There's an amazing collection that's beautifully curated. I loved the mix of multi-media displays and full room experiences. Art was placed every where - it was truly immersive. An adorable little girl even pointed to an elevator sign and said, "That's art, mommy!" She wasn't wrong, everything about the building felt like part of the displays. I've never been a contemporary art fan, but between the Walker Arts Center and the Nelson-Atkins Museum in Kansas City, MO, I'm definitely becoming one.

I never felt that I'm allowed to talk in an art museum, until I saw the Walker. Amazing modern art. Loved the mixed media exhibit.
The restaurant could do with an allergy menu, or at least one dish for vegans, that is not another damn salad.

As far as architecture as art goes, the architecture was much less stimulating than the exterior leads you to believe. Many galleries were closed due to installation, but even the ones that were open we're so hopelessly meaningless, it left our entire group feeling incredibly underwhelmed. The book shop had some pretty neat things, but way over priced as expected.
