Really fun to wander the sculpture garden. Great pieces!
Really fun to wander the sculpture garden. Great pieces!
Fantastic place to visit with the sculpture garden and a great gift store.
Great place to have fun. Especially in the summer. Just walking in the sculpture garden is free and mini golf is really affordable. The galleries are year round and always amazing.
Amazing selection of art and exhibits in a beautiful building.
The Sculpture Garden is always a great place to wander around and soak up some sun while admiring unique works.
This is a fantastic art collection. I was impressed.
The Walker Art Center always has a nice collection of modern art that makes you think. If you don't like modern art you won't like it. Also, the sculpture garden that is next to it is being redone, so dot expect that till 2017
Rock the garden, great open air festival, wonderful people.
What's not to love about an art museum you could spend days in?!
One of the best art museums in the United States. The museum grounds have a total of eleven exhibition rooms and also houses a cinema, a theater and a number of restaurants. With an extensive collection of 20th and 21st century art, the Walker Art Center is an unmissable attraction for art lovers: Admire the works of such famous artists as Picasso and Giacometti, or enjoy Andy Warhol's Pop Art! The museum also exhibits works of minimalist art by Agnes Martin and Sol LeWitt, as well as works of the modern Italian flow of the arte povera.
Free parking. Clean. Good Family time. Good to spend 1 to 2 hours. No restaurant and coffee shops. Residents around. Don't eat here like other park. Just walk watch and click pics.
Most of the time the art is invigorating but other times I am challenged to perceive the art
Iconic art & views. Great for taking visitors to from other states.
Hit up the creative, challenging and fun putt-putt course!
The sculpture garden is neat, but I personally didn't like any of the art inside the museum except for the chalk room. I usually try to be open minded about art because art can technically be anything but this museum took that to new level and not in a way I found interesting. It was also extremely short I feel like we had seen everything in a half hour. Overall I was really disappointed.
Great now that the sculpture is back! Rock the garden was a fun show!
Very particular park with numerous statues and different activities during the weekend. A postcard of Minneapolis
It's not that impressive to be honest. A few good art pieces, that's it.
Love coming here with the family. Daughter loves it!
Great place filled with a eclectic mix of art! The walker also has a wonderful outdoor sculpture garden that is great when it is warm out!
I think the comparison to mental hospital is accurate, exhibits were bleak not interesting not inspired wish i could get my money back
Lots of modern sculptures and nice grounds to go for a walk. They also have covered areas. There's metered parking on the street and a lot, not sure if there's a free parking lot close by
Very unique & modern art museum with a yummy restaurant inside. However, my family and I were disappointed to see many of the exhibits were closed during our visit! Not the place to go if you'd like to see ancient or prehistoric art.
I find I require an interpretive guide or docent for what is currently on display.
It's a great place to see something new and interesting, it's a place for art and family.
Won't bring my kid there.
Adult only section .......it makes me sad that they call this art.
Art is subjective. Simply not interested in this kind of art.
The reason I went to, it was a free admission. I'm not a fan of this art, but some are really art works. You can find what you are able to create when taking drags:)
Very cool diverse collection of modern art. Curated well and presented well
Dear Lord. The things that pass for art these days....
great art museum and really cool theater for movie screenings. great spot for tourists and locals
Very clean, minimal fun, pat for parking. Certainly a needed experience for new Minnesotans, but once you've been, you've been.
We did not go inside this trip. The sculpture garden is open and free. We had fun exploring it. We went inside a few years ago as it was a free day. I enjoyed the exhibits at that time. I do not live in the area so my knowledge is limited.
I wish there was more painting.. specifically abstract paintings...
My family and I have loved coming here. The exhibits are always interesting and the rotation of installments on the top floor have been intriguing and unique. The mini golf course is worth a play, but it is insanely challenging at times because it is more art than golf. The sculpture garden is a great oasis in the center of the city.
The most unique museum in town. I can't wait for it to warm up so that I can go to the sculpture garden!
Great place to walk around and see some interesting art/conversation starters!
The best place around to view free art and be able to relax.
Beautiful day and great exhibition. Went with my daughter as she had a graphic arts project to complete. We had a very nice time. It was busy.
I was on the hunt for ice cream when I stumbled upon the Walker Art Center. Though I was running dangerously low on my cell phone batter, I saw the sign for free admission Thursday(thanks, Target) and decided to check it out. I loved it. There's an amazing collection that's beautifully curated. I loved the mix of multi-media displays and full room experiences. Art was placed every where - it was truly immersive. An adorable little girl even pointed to an elevator sign and said, "That's art, mommy!" She wasn't wrong, everything about the building felt like part of the displays. I've never been a contemporary art fan, but between the Walker Arts Center and the Nelson-Atkins Museum in Kansas City, MO, I'm definitely becoming one.
anytime of year is excellent place to visit!
I really love this place!
Excellent contemporary art museum. Lots of options and areas to explore.
Awesome place, I try to get there a couple times a year.
Really nice and clean just a good old time to walk around and look at things
Did not enjoy art center. Staff was unpleasant. What they consider as art is not what I consider art.
I never felt that I'm allowed to talk in an art museum, until I saw the Walker. Amazing modern art. Loved the mixed media exhibit.
The restaurant could do with an allergy menu, or at least one dish for vegans, that is not another damn salad.
As far as architecture as art goes, the architecture was much less stimulating than the exterior leads you to believe. Many galleries were closed due to installation, but even the ones that were open we're so hopelessly meaningless, it left our entire group feeling incredibly underwhelmed. The book shop had some pretty neat things, but way over priced as expected.
Love this place. The sculpture garden is awesome, and the artist putput golf is fun!!
The public gardens are good but the Walker itself is too modern for my tastes.
