When I was seen by the doctors I was well taken care of and my colonoscopy went by pretty smoothly. The only complaint that I have is that HIPAA regulations were broken. I was informed that I was gossiped about amongst someone about my experience with a doctor and I feel that this is something that needs to be said. If HIPAA declares that doctors and other staff members shouldn't be talking about their patients THEN THEY SHOULD NOT TALK ABOUT THEIR PATIENTS. The last time I checked people can be fired and fined for talking about their patients with people that have no business knowing what condition that person is in. Even though I was taken care of by the doctors and other staff members at the hospital I will not come back to Baptist Hospital because this has made me not trust the help of this facility.

Was referred to an ENT surgical specialist named Dr. Drew Plonk, MD. Went to Plonkfor a consultation for endoscopic sinus surgery another specialist doctor in Charlotte referred me to PLONK, raving about how good PLONK is as a surgeon. I found PLONK unimpressive, overly conservative and rather indecisive acting. If you or your doctor are contemplating endoscopic sinusitis surgery for long-term, chronic history of sinusitis, GO ELSEWHERE.

What a great great hospital staffed. By some of THE best Doctors and Nursing staff. Unfortunately having had severe heart troubles since 2014. I have only good things to say. About this blessing of a hospital. I was treated with absolute respect. Kindness, courtesy and taken well care of. I saw 1st hand the workings of a fine oiled machine. But with a kind heart from all. The entire staff of 7th Reynolds, 5th floor Reynolds and 7th floor North tower. Well, their all Angels and the Dr's are "rock stars" to me. They have saved my life, more than once. When I was helpless, they all helped me. I am eternally grateful to each of these "good people."
I give them a standing ovation. A Thunderous BRAVO!!!
& a sincere THANK YOU.

I have absolutely no idea how someone could give these folks less than a 5. My care there has been extraordinary. Dr. Stewart and all the staff that I have met with in the cancer center have been caring and concerned. I believe they saved my life. In contrast to other hospitals (ex: the big one in Charlotte) at WF the atmosphere is more toward the patient versus the corporation. At those big conglomerate hospitals I felt like I was on a production line and the staff was definitely stretched but they have to make their "non-profit money".

Also WF was participating the a nationwide melanoma trial while the big one in Charlotte no. So right there it tells you that WF has the advantage. Ok with that the people at all hospitals were great, at NE in Concord, Charlotte and WF. The difference is I saw them more often at Wake Forest Baptist.

I give only 4 star's because as my Father laid in the CCU the lady bugs stormed his room. It wasn't at all a clean hospital. I did all of his cleaning from the CCU to ICU, intermediate care than a regular room. But beside the cleaning, staff and doctors saved my Fathers life. We are also from Virginia and my Fathers stay was extremely long. Drs and staff helped us get into the SECU House for our stay. I say thank you to all the Drs and nurses who took care of us all.

Dr. Perry Shen is the finest surgeon you could hope to have if you find yourself in the unfortunate position of having cancer. Saved my life! Literally!! And the nurses on floor 9 were absolute angels! They treated me like family and made the worst time of my life bearable. I can t say enough good about the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Wake Forest.

A really mixed bag coming from Raleigh, NC to Wins...

A really mixed bag coming from Raleigh, NC to Winston. Having relocated to Winston for a few years now from the Raleigh area, I've found that healthcare in the area is a jumbled mixed bag. There is a significant lack of independent doctors offices not affiliated to one of the 2 local health system giants. This matters cause everything gets charged at hospital rates.

I learned this from my first appointment where I had a CBC with my first new patient visit with a GP. Versus the $15 at most cost I'd ever payed in the past for bloodwork, I got hit over the head with a near $400 bill. The quality of doctors and nurses is good, but the financial implication of seeing them is ridiculous.

This past year I learned (after the fact) that the hospital re-evaluates their billing charges on materials and services in July. My monthly B12 shot went from a $40ish monthly cost to $120ish monthly cost. Didn't learn of this til I discovered the 300% increase when I payed the bills the next month and then it took another month to get a valid reason why. The billing customer service people danced around my questions stating increase in cost of medicine perhaps when I clearly was looking at my EOB asking about the line items showing across the board increases.

This month I discovered that my annual visit with my general practice that is insurance covered at 100% was billed for the wellness visit but then billed again as a follow up.....all for the same visit???

Obviously you got to get treatment when you need it, but I recommend checking your options and maybe driving to Raleigh or Charlotte for medical care options where the market isn't monopolized to crush your bank accounts with the stellar health insurance plans we now get due to our last president.

I had my 3rd back surgery here. I was left in recovery and not in a private room, laying on a flat wood board for 3 hours with no pain medication after waking up from the anesthesia.
After getting my records, all the surgery notes were vague. I understand that falls under the doctor, this hospital failed in many ways to accommodate after the surgery I had. Wasn't worth the price tag!

The Wake Forest buy out in the High Point, Greensboro, Winston Salem triad area is the most detrimental event to happen to the healthcare system in this area. It is inundated with PAs in primary care.... in fact, from my experience the MDs are few. Behavioral Health, as they call it, is booked 4 months out, God forbid you're in crisis. Most other specialists are at least 2 months out and, gone are the days of working a patient with a severe condition into their schedules on a emergent status. If you have cancer or other serious illness, that diagnosis will probably be made in the ED somewhere because you've become so sick you can no longer wait to see the specialist. You will sign electronically to consent for treatment without ever knowing the verbiage content of what you've signed. You will do the same for financial responsibility. Your records are available to the entire Wake Forest Network even if you wanted a private second opinion. We've been left with few healthcare options apart from the Wake Forest Community because they now monopolize the area. That's scary. Thankful I'll be returning to the west coast soon.

We are so thankful for a Hospital like Baptist Health. My two boys were born at Baptist over 6o years ago and the service has always been outstanding and professional. Would go no where else if I have a choice.

The doctors and nurses have been a true blessing and make it absolutely worth the mass chaos and rude staff we've encountered. If we could see the doctor outside of this facility we would in a heart beat.
