It is recommended for those who want to go to the beach because it is very close to the beach. You can borrow all the towels. If room was good, we were satisfied as we could see the sea and diamond head together.

It is very open, clean, beautiful. There are 2 separate towers which eases off the crowded feeling. Bad side, tons and tons and tons of tourists so there's no avoiding the commercial tour buses.

This is a far cry from a resort in my book. The hotel while across from the beach does not offer guests seating on the beach and the two pools need to be updated ( mold and rust around the edges) and the lounge chairs are a little bit dated and uncomfortable. The pool deck is quite large and the hotel could afford to invest in more chairs and umbrellas to accommodate the large summer crowd as people had to be turned away from the pool if they did not wish to pay an additional $75 for a cabana.

Our room was sub par as well. It was not one of the rooms that had been renovated and like so many of the guest commented we were inconvenienced by the noise of construction in the mornings as well as the noise of the city traffic at all hours of the day and night. We were placed close to the elevators despite our request for a better location from the original low floor position ( given our 15 night stay) and that was the best they could do on the tenth floor. For the most part the staff was accommodating and the location was prime; however I can see why the property was downgraded from a 7 to a 6 ( on the Marriott grading scale) in the year since I made the reservation. Had I known that prior to checking in I would have canceled the reservation.

Another good marriot only a few yards from the beach. Just room service is expensive. You need your room key to go get ice on every odd level floor after 8pm would have been 5 star if they explained more when I arrived but still the rooms are nice

The location is great. Close to the beach, shops, restaurants, etc. The staff were great and helpful. The only complaints we had were that the rooms were pretty dated. Whilst the furniture was fine the carpet was worn and dirty and really needed to be replaced. By the looks of the carpet it had been cleaned a few too many times and was starting to bunch up. Being there for a week I was really surprised at the $40+ tax to park my rental.

The room was very nice and the view was wonderful. It's a very large hotel with a lot of shops, restaurants, and amenities. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They have free DVD rental, which was great. It's within walking distance of Wakiki beach.

Stayed here with my partner from the 6th may until the 16th may. What a wonderful experience. Rooms were so clean, hotel was close everything, across the road from the beach, short walking distance to shops and main strip, 2 ABC stores downstairs inside the hotel (convenience shops). I could not find a fault with this hotel. Will definately be staying here again and will be recommending it to all my friends and family. Thank you!

The hotel has huge rooms which have recently been refurbished, super close to the beach. The steakhouse was amazing and I recommend visiting, I don't recommend getting the breakfast buffet as it didn't have much variety and was overly expensive, pool bar was nice, good drinks and entertainment each night, mediocre food.

Hotel is near beach. At night , nearby on the sidewalk are Street performers. They have stores for clothes and food inside the hotel. You have to go to the hotel breakfast on 2nd floor. You can actually go out on the hotel room balcony.

Probably the most famous beach in Hawaii, this beach stretches about two miles. From the Hilton Hawaiian Village to around the Honolulu Zoo. Along the way are many restaurants, bars and shops. Around the middle is the famous Duke Kahanamoku statue. You can't miss it as it's next to the Waikiki police station and the arms are usually full of leis. This beach has been featured on post cards, TV shows and movies. I think everyone who has ever visited Hawai'i has been to this beach at least once. It's great to relax here among some locals and tourists/visitors. The water is warm and blue. People wanting to learn how to surf can also take lessons here. Along the beach are also showers and restrooms. It's very convenient for tourists/visitors if they are staying in Waikiki as it's only a few minutes walk from all hotels.

I stayed here roughly a month ago for 2 weeks, and here for a week this time. The rooms are great, staff is friendly. A couple of wishes though: is it too much to ask to have a microwave in the rooms? Wish there was more dining options.

Nice hotel, with a catch. During check-in was told I would get complimentary breakfast (exact words) due to membership status. Was NOT told those breakfasts were not complimentary at all, but rather part of $39 a day package, billed as "resort fee", that was, apparently, $12-15/day discount over non-Marriott members. This was business trip so made ZERO use of all other services & discounts (spa, tours, etc.) associated with the package. Translation: paid $39 a day for scoop of scrambled eggs, 4 strips of bacon, and 2 slices of papaya (x5 days!). On check out query, desk clerk simply said resort fee was mandatory charge, made a big deal of pointing out I paid less than "non members", gave me a history lesson on the origin of the fee, and told me it was all on the hotel website and I should have seen it when I made my reservation.....basically told me to suck it up. If this fee really is mandatory (i.e., municipal) there are nicer hotels in Waikiki to pay it to. Considering switching loyalty to Hilton after this blind side.

The resort is both beautiful and luxurious. The staff is very polite and very understanding. Although the Marriott is a high end hotel, they do not fail to make one feel comfortable and at home as well.

Had birthday dinner at Sansei. Tried ~7 dishes and every single one was perfect. Drinks were expertly poured. Service was great, they brought out a small caramel apple dessert as a birthday dish. Walking through the hotel felt lavish. Would stay if we got the chance.

Doesn't "wow" you. Pretty below average hotel. Locations is alright but it's not even on the beach. You have to cross the street which takes forever with traffic. Idk pretty boring hotel. Very dated. Also be cautious ordering food. I order a pepperoni and it came out not even cooked and tasted worse than a homemade pizza.

Corner room, two balconies, one facing the ocean, the other facing the volcano. Rooms are great, nice 24 hour gym with amazing equipment. The pool is open majority of the day 6am to 11pm. The only issue is minor maintenance like broken lights (elevators mostly) throughout the hotel.

Everything about this hotel rocks. Multiple restaurants, large spacious rooms, and beach front access. Only 5 min walk from the international market as well. Great place for families and all on vacation

Very nice facility with great employees. Only one complaint. I am an elite long time member. There is a wonderful breakfast buffet. I was supposedly given 7 coupons for 7 days. My husband was not included. Two coupons were apparently lost, or I never received them. In any case I told Elite services I only received 5. According to their records I used 7. I don't know if I dropped them and someone else used them, or they made an incorrect entry. In any case, Marriott employees refused to replace them. Do they think I was lying? I asked 3 people and they wouldn't credit me. It seemed like a chintzy way to treat a good customer. Eighty dollars is nothing to Marriott...but it's a lot to me.

I brought my daughter to celebrate her 21st birthday, all the staff were great. Everyone at the Marriott was kind, courteous and helpful. I could not have asked for a better location to take my daughter to. My only and this is only concern was the parking garage. I never thought a Ford Fiesta could feel so large. I rented the smallest car I could conceivably cram myself into because it's an island and space is finite. That fact was made abundantly clear by that garage. In conclusion, nothing is 100% perfect, but 99.9% isn't bad. Not bad at all. Thank You to the staff and employees at the Waikiki Beach Marriott for making my daughters 21st birthday one she'll never forget.
