An awesome place doing important work, rehabbing injured birds. Depending on the day/time, you may be able to see their facilities and meet some of the residents that call it home, including peacocks, eagles, herons, pelicans, and owls!

A friend of mine who volunteered there kept wanting to take me to Rogers Wildlife Rehabilitation,he wouldn't stop till I went with him. It has been a few months since going but I keep thinking about it. All the birds were so well taken care of, so healthy. Rogers is a very impressive place, you will be impressed by it too.
I first found them when I rescued an injured baby blue jay. I love this place, like to see all the birds and we're going again today with a little dove with a broken wing.
I found a baby bird that fell out of its nest and I cant reach up to the top of our building to replace it. I called for help since we do not have any rescues in the country and the girl that was on the phone was VERY informative on what I needed to do with the baby bird. She told me to leave it on the ground for momma and then went through further steps until I could get it to her. I don't want this VERY healthy baby bird to die and she assured me that if I follow the steps and get it to them ASAP it would probably be okay. Which made me feel better. If you aren't sure CALL THEM they are wonderful :)
I thank GOD for this place and these people...... and dont forget, when they help you help an animal........THEY ALSO NEED YOU TO HELP THEM, and leave them a financial donation.....I always leave them a check when i drop off an injured bird. nothing is free, and its a major cost on them....although its their passion. and calling.
A mother duck walked onto 635 east out near skillman with her babies. She was killed instantly by the driver behind me. I spent the rest of my afternoon gathering her babies. (I got them all) They slept at my home that evening while I looked for people qualified to rehabilitate the newly orphaned babies. Rogers took them, and as far as i know they were successfully rehabilitated into the wild.
Thank you Rogers for your efforts. You make a world of difference for these creatures.
I found a young Robin. It looked like a cat may have messed with it. I found Roger's online & took it over on Sunday morning. So glad they took the bird. I hope is doing better. So glad Roger's is here for the critters. They could use donations for the Gov. does not help them.
"Roger's Wildlife" is an amazing facility. I have dropped off six wild birds and all are thriving! The staff are ALWAYS working very hard and work on donations alone. Anything you could contribute would be greatly appreciated.
I rescued a finch nestling that was hanging from its nest by its leg with a human hair wrapped around it. The little bird had been upside down flapping its little wings trying to get free for some time when I found it. I had to cut the hair away from the nest with scissors just to free it. Unfortunately, the leg just hung there. Or else I could've put it back in the nest. I spent three hours calling around until I came across these guys. Thankfully the bird made it through the night & the ride to this location. Once in they took it right out & started working on it. PLEASE BE SURE TO LEAVE A DONATION. Every bit helps. This place is awesome. My son & I spent over an hour walking around looking at every single animal that we could. There are a lot of birds walking around. They are so much fun to watch. Keep an eye out for the pelicans. They want you to feed them & they are going to try to take bites, lol. I enjoyed them. They are really fun to watch react to the employees/volunteers as they walk by. The animals get so excited.
We dropped off a baby killdeer that we found and couldn't put back with its parents. They took the bird and asked for a donation to defray the cost of its rearing/rehab. The workers/volunteers are very dedicated and immediately fed the baby bird. This organization deserves more visibility.
This was such an amazing experience. Took my 6 year old daughter she fell in love! Our tour guide Kara was so good, fun, and knowledgeable about everything plus more. Going again soon.
Love these folks! SO nice to have a place filled with wonderful caring people to take an injured bird to! PLEASE send them a donation they need the help!!
Seeing wildlife rescued and treated is amazing. Getting to learn about the different birds that live in our area, and how to help keep them safe was eye opening. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the different animals there. Will be going back.
I can't say enough nice things about this facility. I brought them an injured mallard duckling that was found at our neighborhood duck pond and they were so kind and compassionate. Please consider them for a donation. They are doing great work and can't continue serving our animal friends without our financial support. .
I saw what I thought was an owl alongside the road just north of Milford on Hwy 77. It seemed very odd to me that he would just be standing there. We circled back around and got out to determine if my eyes have deceived me once again, but they had not. There was the biggest Barred Owl standing there next to the road with a bloody face. I googled "raptor rescue" and found RWR, called and they said they would be happy to look after him. I thru a jacket over him and we headed back North having made the decision to seek help for him and pass up yet another opportunity to go fishing. We arrived at RWR, they were eager to get him cleaned up and inspected. Looked like he took a hit to the face and damaged an eye. I'm sure from an auto accident, as there was another owl across the street flattened in the road. She said he should be fine, I donated to his care and took a small tour thru the facility. They had every imaginable bird you could think of, Bald Eagle, Red Tail Hawks, from hummingbirds to turkey, blue jays to parakeets, blue heron, pelican, geese, ducks, you name it. Even a tame Kite inside munching on meal worms. You might call them, I think they have a tour and it would be a great place to take the kids to learn/see. I'm sure for those who can't visit you could donate to help the cause. (I wasn't compensated to say that) We thought about going back to check on the Barred Owl , hopefully he's on the road to recovery. I know when he got there he had a death grip on the jacket I covered him in leaving puncture wounds in the material. Go Barred Owl!
(First, note that the location that Google maps showed for them is wrong. They are on the left just BEFORE Republic Services). We brought an injured dove to them this morning. They were able to assess that it was just a sore shoulder and that it should be flying in a few days. We took a look around at their birds. They have quite a place with hundreds of birds. They must have had at least 50 peacocks and peahens walking around. At least 100 ducks. They had a couple pelicans. 3-4 herons, a bald eagle, some hawks. A crow that likes to say ow...ow..ow over and over. Another crow clearly says, What s ya doin? .
Be sure to leave a donation to help them care for all these birds.
I brought an injured grackel here after I found it on the road. Within seconds they had an assumed diagnosis, and began treating him IMMEDIATELY. I am so grateful for this place. If you can, make a donation if you ever go. They do great work. Plus, the grounds are awesome to walk around and see the different birds.
Every time i make a bad review (for good reasons) it gets deleted like the many others that make them on fb and here. So im not typing it all up to have it erased but i will say don't trust them with birds me and my friends who have delt with this place always refer people to other places now because you honestly can't promise their good chance at life at all. I thought I would add to this but the final problem with them was they told me to euthanize a baby goose because it's not like it would survive anyways the head chicks words not mine and when we took it to the vet that happen to be the same thing that we use already and that they use to he said he did not understand what they were saying that that they were completely wrong so they like any rightful and caring judgement.oh yeah the goose lived happily ever after practically and I also forgot to mention the part that they said we should give them the goose that way they can do it and then we still owed them and had to pay them the fee again it euthanize because that's the only thing that we should be doing.
Wonderful organization. Took in a duck that I have seeing walking on Cole Ave in Uptown about a month ago, and it ended up by my apartment on Carlisle. It such a busy, and high speed area. Caught duck, and is in their intensive care hospital. It was starved, and has lost all muscles. It has started to eat some worms, and cat food. This was a pet because it like to be touched. Thank God for this organization, and their caring volunteers!
This place is wonderful. I found a baby bird being carried/injured by a cat and was able to receive directions as to how to handle and transport the baby safely. When I arrived at the sanctuary they immediately inspected it, started treating it, and told me it would be okay.
There were dozens of birds of all shapes and sizes walking around, and everyone was kind. They do not request any type of payment, but absolutely take donations. I was happy to support them!!
I LOVE this place & all that they do for any sick or injured bird. I've taken two there myself over the years because I know they'll be in the best possible hands. I love the Facebook page where you can see Maggie the Pelican's antics & the many bird species there. I like to donate when I can do & recommend doing so if you can. It's a worthwhile cause. You an also walk around the grounds & see more birds. It's a great place to take kids to learn.
We brought a baby bird and the staff and place is amazing. During this time of year they average receiving 25 to 50 birds a day. After we dropped off the bird we spent awhile with the owner as she walked us through the grounds and told us stories about the 40 years she has dedicated to rescuing birds.
Incredibly kind people. They took two baby doves I had found. The gentleman that works there took me around the facility and I don't think I've ever see so many birds. They work very hard and you can tell that they love all of their animals. They run on donations so if you go, please consider leaving a little something.
I love this place!! We had so much fun seeing all the birds!!! Talked to the staff and got loads of information about them all!! Brought donations from their wish list on their website and they were very appreciative!! I will be returning soon and I will be letting everyone know about this beautiful place!!!
We took an injured Heron here that we found in our yard. The staff was amazing. Hundreds of birds kept safe in a very clean and well maintained facility.
We drove two hours from East Texas to take an orphaned baby robin. I had no idea what to expect but, from the moment we arrived, I was amazed by this place. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and caring. We left our baby robin Scooter in good hands knowing that he will be well taken care of until he can be released back into the wild! I highly recommend stopping by when you get a chance and seeing this wonderful place full of beautiful birds!
Absoloutly wonderful place. They took a baby bird i found that had no chance at surviving and gave him another shot at life. Im so grateful for Rogers and everything they do for the community!!
I brought in an injured Hawk i found in a parking lot, beautiful bird. They gave him a thorough exam and took care of business. Very nice people and a wonderful place they have there.
This place is amazing! My cat brought in a baby blue jay into my house & I had to do something or he would die. The drive wasn t bad at all (coming from Sachse) They were so friendly there! They took the baby bird right away and the dr examined it (my cat had punctured the birds eye) the dr gave the poor baby bird an injection and put it with the other baby blue jays. They will show you all around the place and explain each bird, chicken, duck, etc... and how it got there. Make sure you give a donation. Thats the only way their able to take care of all of these animals. It s worth a drive over there just to see all the different kinds of birds!
I love this place. I found a fledgling mockingbird outside of my front door this morning. He was hopping but could not fly.....he looked like he had been pushed from the nest too soon. I had to do something or he was a goner. I knew about this place(Rogers Wildlife Rehab) as I had brought them an injured blue jay about 10 years earlier. They saved the blue jay and encouraged me to bring in the young mockingbird ASAP. i brought it to them and they met me in the parking area and took my info and the young bird. They assured me that he(?) would recover and be fine....thank goodness. What nice people they are and what great work they do. I left a donation.
I brought in an owl that I found that was very sick in my backyard and they took care of it. Make sure that you donate as much as you can to these folks they are great
Happy I found a bird rehabber, though they're on the opposite part of town than me, but they will take an injured bird and save its life, or at least try to, when the local animal shelter said they would just euthanize the bird. It's amazing that there is a place that helps our injured wildlife! Support this organization whenever you can, and donate to help them out!
I love this place! They also rehabilitate raptors, so right up my alley! For those who love Nature, it's an incredible place and not a bad drive from DFW area.
Found a bird at a job site that had gotten stuck in a mouse trap, the glue had stuck to its wings so it was unable to fly. As soon as I walked in they took him out and started cleaning it off. Amazing people! I will be going back to volunteer!
This place took in a baby bird that we found and put him with birds of his kind he would have definitely died if Rogers Wildlife would not have taken him
This place is to be considered a hidden gem if you're into wildlife. Rogers Wildlife Rehabilitation is only 15 miles south of Downtown Dallas. A quick 20 minute drive to a place well worth the time spent.
Volunteers work very hard to save and care for wounded sick or handicapped birds, geese, all kinds that people bring in, and I think what they do is wonderful!
Rogers Wildlife Rehab Center is working on rehabbing hurt and orphaned birds, they are dedicated to caring and healing the needy and wounded birds. Since I'm not geography close enough to volunteer I am sending a donation to show my appreciation and support.
I found a baby duck and i was looking for places that would take care of him, i came across this place,I was amazed not just by how the place looked like, but the staff were really nice and they looked like they love their job, the lady who approached me was very sweet, and told me a little bit about the duck and my concerns, she ensured me he will be taken care of with other ducklings his size. I encourage people to leave donations this place really deserves it
My dad found a mockingbird that had been hit by a car in the middle of the road and brought it to me! I was able to locate this wonderful center and dropped it off! I never knew this place was here and so close too! I love and appreciate the work they do! Very sweet and educational folks!
Took in a bird a coworker of mine found. They do ask for a donation if you bring birds in (to help pay for feeding and medical costs). These ladies love their birds!
I love this place! The staff is very knowledgeable, and it's a wonderful place to volunteer. During my time there, I learned more about birds than I ever thought I'd know. There were types of birds I never knew existed. Not to mention, they are one of the sole wildlife rescues in North Texas that specializes in birds. Truly an amazing place!
Beautiful people they are wonderful. They help so many animals. Don't forget to give a donation cause with out our help its hard for them to help the animal.
I found an injured long-billed dowitcher and was recommended by a friend to take it to this facility. I was totally amazed by the professionalism and service that I got in taking care of the bird. I also got a chance to walk around the property and see really cool birds like a bald eagle, several red tail hawk, owls, peacocks and other birds. They do need support because it is a nonprofit organization on trying to help birds out that are injured.
Wonderful place to bring injured and sick birds. Over the years, I have taken many injured birds here and the staff is amazing. They genuinely care about all their birds. They even took a bird that died on the trip there and treated him with such kindness and respect. Places like this help restore my faith in humanity.
I found a baby blue jay at the post office, clearly abandoned and not going to make it in this heat. I found this was one of the only places in DFW that would care for the bird the way he needed. It looks and sounds like a bird's paradise! They took the baby right in, along with lots of other baby birds, and started feeding him immediately. They will receive my donation soon, as I didn't have my wallet on me at the time. Thank you for all you do!
My granddaughter and I found an injured hawk on I20. We were 1.5 hours outside Dallas. We called Rogers Wildlife and asked if we could bring it in. Of course they said yes and asked for a donation. When we arrived a volunteer came out and greeted us and took our information, where it was found, etc. Roger and I can only assume his wife came out to get the hawk. They said he had a head injury but were sure it would be okay. Roger even showed a picture of a hawk sitting on his hat on his head. The picture was taken this morning. I absolutely gave a donation for all the wonderful work they do. There are cranes, Peacocks, Geese, ducks and birds of prey. Unfortunately they are closed to visitors because of COVID, when it reopens we are going back to visit.
