Christmas market was very busy with a variety of stall holders. The house as always was well presented with a Christmas theme. This year's light show and projections in the stables were an improvement on 2017's effort. Only downside was the wait for the shuttle bus was very long especially as we tried to join it at the stables, this meant only one or two people could squeeze on. We decided not to wait and walked down the road in the dark back to the car park. We were not the only ones!

Went for the Christmas/winter lights, we couldn't get tickets for the house as was fully booked.
Experience was great from car park and back again - buses to and from Manor, if needed; winters lights were brilliant; my two girls (4 and 6) loved the light in motion exhibit.
Lots of walking and could get muddy in places so wear decent footwear (as the website says).
Will go back in summer to see how it is normally.

I enjoyed every aspect of this trip! From the entrance to the manor house, restaurant, gardens, cafe, aviary, playground...it's got all that's needed to keep each person entertained.

We had a 2 course lunch in the manor restaurant (mains and dessert), fantastic well seasoned Ceasar Salad and Eaton Mess for dessert

The house is magnificent as usual, the staff were very pleasant and happy to help... particularly Kelly who helped us with certain aspects of the trip.

Apparently it's even more adorable during the Christmas season.

If you love stately homes then this one is a must see.

I would highly recommend

A well run and impressive National Trust property. As well as the house and gardens to look around there is an aviary, converted stables to cafe and shop with children's play area and don't forget to look around the wine cellar.
Well done National Trust

Extraordinary! This "chateau" is a nonstop succession of beautiful items. If you were taken blindfolded to any point in the house, when you opened your eyes there would be a masterpiece in front of you. The house and grounds are immaculately kept and full of interest.
You have to be very picky indeed to criticise anything - but pressed for two things, you would have to list unusually poor catering facilities (for National Trust) near the house and a general lack of seating in and around the house (particularly outdoors in the cafe and in the house itself) which makes it hard work for the not so fit. Don't let it put you off - it's remarkably good.

Amazing building and gardens with an interesting history. Good food facilities all of which serve great food. The high tea is brilliant and well presented. Coffee is excellent. Children's play park is extensive and the Aviary is simply amazing. Films in the house are good and informative. Wine shop is well worth the trip alone.

Exceptional manor built with French influences of the Rothschild family. We parked in their car park where there was a free bus shuttle to take you outside of the manor.
Outside were well laid lawns and gardens, with some modern art thrown into the mix plus an aviary with a small collection of unusual species.
Inside the manor, some really beautiful pieces of furniture, clocks and vases. It certainly has the 'wow factor', but don't just look at the big things, some of the smaller pieces were extraordinary. Photography was allowed in the manor but no flash photography (nice touch, not many stately homes allow you to do that).
Overall, it's definitely worth spending a whole day there.

This is a first class property, a "Flagship" for the national trust. Styled on a French Chateau the exterior is only excelled by the lavishly furnished interior with many fine paintings. There are laminated information sheets in each of More

Waddason Mannor is amazing at Christmas. All the rooms are uniquly decorated every Christmas. Remember to book early for Christmas otherwise it will be fully booked out. It is very wheelchair accessable with lifts inside the house and ramps to get into the house. If you chair isn't too heavy there is a ramp lift that will take you to the top of the stairs to get in. The restraunt at Christmas has a very nice Christmas dinner. I love Waddaston Mannor.

This is a great place for families ..but you need to pack a picnic as food is really expensive.
There's a interesting history to do with the house and Avery my kids love the bird collection.
They also love the play equipment which is unfortunately over several levels which for parents in wheelchairs or less mobile grandparents it's nearly impossible to keep up with your little charges. Also gravel driveways please national trust no more really tricky for electric wheelchairs also NT members if there's a special event on here you have to pay yes it is concession but still.
All that said if you pack your picnics ,balls and game's and your able bodied it's a great day out.enjoy

Exceptional, friendly and helpful people greet you from door to door. Really made this place feel welcoming and brought history to life. Very knowledgeable and greatly appreciated their kindness. The manor is both breathtaking and interesting for all the family. Excellent facilities and we'll worth the entrance.

Absolutely stunning place with a superb adventure playground and loads of food and drink choices. We went on a February Saturday and despite it being weekend, it wasn t overly busy.

The bird aviary was a hit with the little ones in our party and the grounds are immaculately kept. Could easily have stayed hours longer! Would definitely return.

Lovely house with lots of things to see. Make sure you checkout the elephant clock, the workmanship is unbelievable! The gardens are also exceptional.

There is ample parking with dedicated spaces for disabled and mother and child. Once you have parked you can either hop on one of the free buses that will take you to the house. Or walk up to the house through the grounds.

There are toilets and baby changing facilities at the carpark where you check in. As well as at the house and restaurant locations.

3.8 mile walk round Waddesdon today, beautiful sun but not too hot, we did sweat up the grass hill towards the front of the house though
Great walk, but signposts maybe could be better, we didn't really know where we were walking most of the time, but maybe that is also a good thing?

This Manor is incredible. You need to set a full day to explore about 20% of what these grounds have to offer. We got here at 10am and in that time, we managed to view a small amount of the grounds as well as spend around two hours inside the Manor. This place is beautiful. The grounds are well kept and have trails for dog walkers, or hiking enthusiasts, that could take up your whole day. They have an aviary with a nice selection of birds. The manor itself is vast and has plenty of eye candy for you to enjoy. It was very busy when we went but the site can more than handle it and we didn't feel hemmed in at all. I'm going again to continue exploring what I missed out on the first time.

Outstanding manor house and grounds. The Christmas fair is a must see. The light show is incredible. Well worth visiting you will not regret it. At Christmas time go around 3pm to experience the lights at dusk and into the evening.

Went to Waddesdon Manor for the Christmas displays ans stalls - absolutely lovely, really got me in the Christmas mood. Plenty of stalls to look and buy from. The projections on to the manor were just wonderful and the music was magical. Mh only disappointed was that it wasn't open for longer into the evening, could have easily stayed another hour or two. Highly recommend going!

Spent a great day here visiting their annual Chilli festival. We had a lot of fun and came home with quite a bit of gin, chilli sauces and fudge!

I found the toilet provisions in the grounds slightly lacking and had to walk a fair distance from the festival to the main house to gain access to decent disabled loos.

I also found the walkway from the grounds to the Woodland playground incredibly treacherous and difficult for someone with mobility issues and a pushchair. I feel the children's play area location may need some reconsideration? Especially as there's limited space for parents to supervise, and there is quite a large drop around the edge of the play site. Maybe relocating it to a nice family picnic area closer to the main house would be better instead of poking it in a difficult to access corner of the woods near the stables?

Not what it used to be. We first discovered this gem in 2013 and found our visits to be very enjoyable. However, in recent years parking has been pushed back much further from the property itself. Doesn't feel like a National Trust property as buses sporting Waddesdon's blue livery take visitors to and from the property. I preferred it when you could park nearer to the property and walk up the hill. I appreciate that this isn't good for the grass but I think a field nearer to the property should be given over to parking.
Doesn't feel like a National Trust property more a private estate open to the public but very much run by Waddesdon PLC as opposed to the National Trust. I'm not a big fan of the properties that are part-National Trust/part-privately owned. If the property was fully owned by the National Trust it would be better. Not what it used to be. Grounds are nice but parking is too far from the property. Would've given it 4-5/5 stars before the changes with parking and the introduction of the buses.

Beautiful house and amazing gardens. Really nice place to visit. Even better if you are a national trust member as its free entry. House visits are at home slots arranged when you get the tickets. House has a lot of nice stuff to look at. The walks are around 30 minutes each and you can do them with a buggie but it's mostly gravel.
