Not what it used to be. We first discovered this gem in 2013 and found our visits to be very enjoyable. However, in recent years parking has been pushed back much further from the property itself. Doesn't feel like a National Trust property as buses sporting Waddesdon's blue livery take visitors to and from the property. I preferred it when you could park nearer to the property and walk up the hill. I appreciate that this isn't good for the grass but I think a field nearer to the property should be given over to parking.
Doesn't feel like a National Trust property more a private estate open to the public but very much run by Waddesdon PLC as opposed to the National Trust. I'm not a big fan of the properties that are part-National Trust/part-privately owned. If the property was fully owned by the National Trust it would be better. Not what it used to be. Grounds are nice but parking is too far from the property. Would've given it 4-5/5 stars before the changes with parking and the introduction of the buses.
