The quantity of seeds looked awfully sparse, so I counted them. The totals were far below what the packages indicated. I had thought Burpee was a responsible company, so I am very disappointed in them.

I've got to say, even with the global pandemic that has caused a *huge* influx of orders, Burpee is still doing such a good job getting their seeds out ASAP. If it weren't for UPS being so screwy, I bet I would've gotten my seeds in 2 business days instead of 4! LOL and they kindly notified me that my plants wouldn't ship until April 20th via email, (check your spam folder!) but when you place an order on 2/14, you're behind a slew of other orders and it makes sense that they operate on a first-come-first-serve basis. Serves me right for not getting my order placed at the start of the season. But *no one* could have anticipated the way that covid would affect things. Everyone is floundering a bit, but Burpee is handling things very professionally imo.
I placed a rather large in the beginning of April . All my seeds and roots came in on time and are great . Everything has germinated and thriving. The asparagus roots are especially impressive .The live plants are a different story . Our local stores were short on inventory so I ordered them from Burpee .They came in very late and not very healthy and they were very expensive. The customer service was poor when I checked on the late shipments. Stick with their seeds and roots .
I created an order online on April 6 and the transaction cleared my bank on April 7. I went to check my order for delivery and it showed as cancelled. They are not responding to my emails and since their customer service staff is working from home due to COVID-19, no one is answering their customer service phone. They just have a message stating to send them an email through their site or to custserv@burpee.com No answers to any of my emails so I've turned it over to an escalated claim through PayPal. I know it's a tough time, but they are still TAKING orders through their website, so they should also be REFUNDING orders they can't fulfill.

Little aggressive with there prices
Is is a review from my online search OUTRAGEOUSLY EXPENSIVE!
Beware! I thought I was ordering 5 plants and bulb from Burpee when I spent $71.26. I was shocked when the small box (not much larger than a man's shoe box) arrived and there were 5 very small starter plants in little 3 1/2" containers. And the little plants are not in good condition. I am feeling totally ripped off and mad at myself for ordering anything from this company. Do your homework and check out reviews before ordering from any company
I have always been pleased with the seeds from this company. I have purchased online as well as at the big box stores near me. The price seems fair to me.
This is the the warehouse and manufacturing plant. You cannot come get seeds or plants, for that you need to go online or to a retail store (such as Lowe's, Home Depot, Walmart...). The building is very dated and needs some fresh carpet and paint in most of the building. Hardly any windows except some offices.
I am a new customer to Burpee. I placed my first order for three packs of seeds and, to the disappointment of my daughter and I, they did not arrive although the tracking info said they had been delivered. I notified Burpee and called the Post Office. It turns out the P.O. delivered my package to the wrong address and had to go retrieve it and re-deliver. By the time I got off the phone with the P.O., Burpee had already processed a replacement order for free without me even asking. I told them thanks but no thanks, the original order was on its way. I do not have the seeds yet, but 5 stars definitely on customer service alone. Mistakes and accidents can happen to anyone, any time, but it's how you handle them that matters. Excellent, fast, responsive customer service, indeed.
I buy burpee seeds from homedepot and lowes so i figured it would be fine to order online. I spent 15$ on seeds to send to a friend in a planter starter kit. 2 weeks later I contacted them through the customer support email and was told the package was shipped back to them from UPS. I gave them an alternate address and more details for the shipping return. I never got a response. I called and never got through and never got a refund. I could have bought seeds through amazon instead.
The plants are generally pretty decent quality and the selection is okay. But Burpee s plant handling, packaging, and shipping IS A DISASTER. Be prepared to receive an expensive pile of dirt with some broken stems in it. And for Burpee (a MAIL ORDER business) to say it s not responsible.
Ordered Busy Bee Sunflower seeds. Planted as directed. Less than half came up. Left a detailed review for Burpees website, but they refused to post it. I was told my review did not "meet website guidelines". When I requested guidelines, I never heard back from Burpee. I don't feel they are dealing with their customers honestly when refusing negative reviews. Mine is not the first. Check generic websites like Google for honest reviews. Will order elsewhere in the future.
