Volkswagen Waterloo Review

My wife, Sabrina, and I had an excellent experience purchasing a new vehicle at Volkswagen Waterloo. We worked with Rob who was very helpful in helping us decide which vehicle was right for a growing family. He didn't pressure us in any way and was helpful in trying to get us the best possible deal. He was easy to work with over email and accomodated us in every way including picking us up from home the day we picked up the car. He also showed us the features of the vehicle and pointed us to their YouTube page which has many great videos. I can't say enough good things about Rob and Shawn as well. With that said, Rob is a Habs fan, and any true blue Leafs fan would never buy a car from a Habs supporter. Therefore, I give a rating of 1 star. Kidding! I can't recommend Rob and this dealership enough. Thanks!

Higher fees than the other VW dealers in the area, not all that friendly (with a few exceptions). I wasnt happy when i had to deal with them but that would be the case with most dealers. Nice that its close..

Exactly what buying a car should be. Easy and not complicated. I was incredibly nervous to buy a new car, and deal with a dealership, as the only vehicle I had before was a beater. From day one they were kind to me and even though I brought my bf and parents with me they always referred to me when talking which was much appreciated. They took the time to answer all of my questions as always made them feel validated. They also gave me detailed information and made sure I understood my deal before signing. Not to mention I got an amazing deal and my car is killer. I love it! Happy to recommend them.

Both Sales (Roy) and service has been top notch. Looking forward to having my vehicle serviced by the team when the time comes. Keep up the great work.

Continual problems everytime we have been to VW Waterloo. Sales staff were rude, and had to insist that we only delt with the Sales Manager, who was helpful, but service dept made error upon error every time we visited.

Most recent problem is that I booked in to have my snow tires changed, only to find out that they had not ordered them in when I arrived at my scheduled appointment, so they could not do them that day, wasting time my once again.

I would not recommend either buying or servicing any vehicle at VW Waterloo.

Thankfully I work in Toronto regularly so use VW Downtown Toronto to service both on my VW's and they do a great job.

Dave was great as a service advisor and I really appreciated the free wash code for the No Touch down the street seeing as they don't have a wash onsite. I think pricing was quite fair for the service that was performed and they'll get my next service appointment as a result! As a bonus the shuttle driver was also great to chat with.

Eventhough my car was bought from this dealership, never went there complaining about a fault and left satisfied. They always make you pay money for inspection and come back to you with no answer because they always fail to find the problem. bunch of unprofissional michanics that only know how to change oil and breaks.

We are so blown away with the service we had at Volkswagen Waterloo. They accommodated our needs and went so far above and beyond to make everything work for us. Michael Raab got everything in order so we got the car very quickly! Shawn also helped us initially and got everything set us up quickly and even managed to get us see snow tires thrown into the deal! Volkswagen Waterloo's service was excellent.

I interacted with R. Vagacs from Sales, and overall had a very pleasant experience in my process of buying a Golf. From the early stages on test driving the car a couple of times to negotiating the final price, I found the service to be great.

Every one is very nice and wants to help make your car experience as nice as possible!

Horrible service, looked at a used car here and the salesman would txt me back right away about my questions, i bought the car and the tires were less than 50% tread and they didnt put new ones on, they didnt even change the oil either, the oil light came on a couple weeks after buying it, wont be back.

Top notch service and experience! Highly recommend Brad and his team. Had a winter tire purchase and installation this morning, seamless service. The only downside is the waiting area is too small.

Earlier this week, our family purchased a new VW TDI from VW Waterloo, ON. On a scale of one to ten, Robert Vagacs Sales Consultant and Shawn Hagen, Financial Services, and the Volkswagen Waterloo dealership rate a ten plus - they were outstanding. They know the meaning of customer service, they know their vehicles, they know the price points, and they know Volkswagen Canada. Robert and VW Waterloo, paid us a fair price for our VW TDI trade in, Shawn was able to ensure that we received a significant cash payout from our unused Volkswagen Protection Plus Plan, purchased in July, 2013. We were able to apply the cash payout, to the purchase of a new 200,000 km./six year five star plan, at a reduced cost of approximately 66%. The dealership delivered our new car in pristine condition, without a hitch, as scheduled. Needless to say we are elated with our purchase, and with the dealership. We will be repeat customers.

I purchased a 2013 pre-owned Tiguan tsi from VW Waterloo. Robert Vagacs was the sales constant who helped me with test drive and purchasing. Their customer service is excellent, especially the explanation of car function and different terms when signing the agreement. In terms of the interest rate and price was also under my budget, they offered me the New Grad discount program which bring down the monthly payment even more. Overall, 100% satisfied with this purchase!!! The condition of the car is also beyond my expectation. I would recommend to anyone who would like to get a volkswagen.

Honestly , the people working in service are as dumb as they come, all they are able to do is changing oil. They lack knowledge in fixing their own brand, i tried going to an outside garage and he immediately recognized the problem while the geniuses working here had no idea what to do

I am super impress with the service adviser Nolan even I still have not physically been to their dealership! I called and made an appointment to bring my car in for checkup as I will be driving to Waterloo from Vancouver next week, thus, it would be a good idea to make sure the car survives the long road trip! Anyhow, Nolan was very helpful to all my inquiries and very proactive with me with other points that I would not have thought of! I like this dealership already! I purchased my first new car here, and the sales staff made the process very easy and stress free. Robert was fantastic, very patient and friendly with me as I tried to come to a decision.

Previous to buying a car here, I also took my 2007 Jetta to Volkswagen Waterloo for annual maintenance. The service staff has always been friendly and professional, the quality of work was always excellent as well.

Stay away from this dealership. They treat you bad and they will screw you over if you don't know what your doing. Don't let their fake smile delude you.

They were very responsive and patient with me when I unexpectedly had to buy a new car over the holidays. No pressure at all to buy what they had on the lot. In the end, I did buy from the lot entirely of my own accord and got a good deal. I had had a good experience with them prior when I had my old vehicle serviced, so I'm very happy to have had a good experience with the sales team as well. They made sure to handle all the details for me like putting on my new winter tires and bagging and loading the summer ones. Strongly recommend dealing with them as there was no hassle, pressure, or annoying haggling.

My wife and I just purchased a 2015 Jetta from VW Waterloo and absolutely love it! Robert Vagacs, our sales person, was very knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and not pushy at all when selling us the car. He made car shopping a tolerable and even enjoyable experience! The staff provides prompt and courteous customer care. We definitely recommend the VW Waterloo team if you are considering purchasing a VW in the future.

We went to that showroom and was surprised, after waiting for 10 minutes no one came to ask how can they help or something. A guy was busy with his phone and same with receptionist. I think they might not care about their customers. Poor customer service I've ever seen in any car dealership

Purchased a Jetta from VW Waterloo in March 2015. The staff is very professional and I am impressed with their customer service! The dealership is smaller but the staff will go above and beyond to satisfy the customers. Even though I live closer to other VW dealers in the area, I still go back to VW Waterloo for maintenance. I recently purchased a Jetta TSI from this dealership, even though I live in Toronto. I was in town visiting family and stopped in for a test drive, but had such a positive experience with the sales consultant, Robert Vagacs, that I came back to Waterloo to make my purchase.

In the weeks between my test drive and my purchase, he provided me with all the information I needed, and promptly responded to all my questions without applying any of the high-pressure sales techniques that we've come to associate with car dealerships. In fact, everyone at Volkswagen Waterloo was a pleasure to deal with. And of course, I love my new Jetta! Thanks Robert and company...

haven't been there personally but i watched someone get t boned outside of there in i assume a test drive and the guys from inside came running out and had the door off before the firetruck even showed up good people (this is a few months old just remembered this now)

Just picked up my O MY GOD awesome Mini Cooper S and it's a beauty...Mike, Tim and the staff at VW Waterloo were great...the Mini was detailed to a tee...its like driving a new car!!! I searched for months to find the right car on my budget and it was worth the wait!!!AAA+++

This dealership sold me a used car and charged me a new tire tax when the car had used tires... They got sued and one day I received a cheque with no apology stating they committed fraud and got caught stealing from their customer base. Their egos are so big they don't care about returning committed Volkswagen customers. Also good luck getting them to uphold their longest in the world 12 yeasr rust warranty This is your dealership in a nutshell: Bought my 2003 B5.5 Passat V6 from here. They wouldn't sell me an oil sensor plug for my oil pan, arguing an inisiting their computer was right and that it had an oil sensor when I was staring at the old one under my car and refused to take my money. I believe the guys name was Mike from parts. Lastly the day I drove my car off the lot the serpentine belt snapped. Every belt after had lost one rib within 100km many mechanics have filed pulleys trying to resolve the issue but every 25-50k km they kept breaking it wasn't until today we realized the alternator they put on the car had the wrong pulley this entire time. It's supposed to have 6 rib gaps but these careless idiots put one with only 5 leaving me stranded several times, spending hundreds on belts on the car without knowing the issue. I have called today once figuring the issue out to see if they will claim responsibility with the service record of belt being changed the day of purchase...They refused to honor Volkswagen's 13 yr rust warranty when my hood has deteriorated due to their lack of design. My old passat b5.5 1.8t got an engine swap under warranty for an over heading issue and they put an oil burning engine in forcing me to top up 1L of oil per 1k km inisiting that this is completely normal. These guys cut corners for a quick dollar. Not to mention steal from you without you knowing, and don't even know their own cars well enough to sell you parts or maintenance your vehicle. Also they promised a friend of mine their new golf in a week after four weeks the car still wasn't there. After charging a few thousand more than other dealers, they ended up pulling the sale and going somewhere else for cheaper and got the car within a few days. They need to admit their mistakes and fix the issue with my costs for the belts I will have to take action and send letters to VW Canada to get a new alternator, and rembursement for all the belts I've bought and service for trying to figure out the problem, not to mention loss of wages due to being stranded at the side of the road. Don't let these joker's scam you because all they want is your money and you at the side of the road coming back. Update: VW Waterloo owned by David Kraus refused to look at the car even though the record of the belt is there and the s/n of alternator is there. Called VW Canada they say dealers can do whatever they want they are independently owned which means they don't have to hold up their warranties or certifications. Aka they have zero accountibility for their brand. You'd think how badly their hurting after the scandals they may consider caring just a little bit about their customers ...

They are generally nice and service is decent. Not sure about the prices though.

Purchased a 2016 Golf Comfortline TSI. My interactions with the sales rep, Robert Vagacs, were all positive. Robert was thoughtful, considerate, and thorough. We exchanged emails before and after the actual purchase. VW Waterloo was sure I was satisfied with the vehicle, gladly letting me bring it back in for their detailers to clean up some interior stains and exterior scratches I missed on initial inspection.

I came here one day knowing exactly what i wanted to buy the second i got there, Mike Raab was extremely helpful and easy to work with the entire process, allowing me to even take the car out for 2 test drives, and getting me some free stuff from vw when i got there to pick it up! Very helpful in the process of replacing my accident damaged Touareg with an identical auto. Having had an excellent purchase experience in 2012, this second dealing was equally courteous and trouble free.

Excellent customer service... and car service too!!

Stopped by to shop around for a car and unfortunately had a very novice salesgirl. She took us for a ride and she got us to try one of their phone cables for charging and we almost couldn't get it out. The feel of the car felt very cheap and ultimately we did not go with a vehicle here. We asked what else she could do for us and she just asked what our bottom line was so I felt like I didn't learn anything about the car or its features.

Their service department is friendly, passionate and knowledgeable. I've had my car serviced here a number of times and have always walked away satisfied. With the recent large investment they've made in their new dealership, it says a lot about their standards of business, a truly impressive facility, and professional staff.

The customer service and shuttle driver were all very polite, but I was disappointed by the service team. I brought in an older VW to be looked at as it has a glitch where several lights are on on the dash, which are very demonstrably incorrect, and two previous mechanics couldn't trace it down.

On the phone when I booked in, they had promised to check a couple of points of the wiring as part of the initial assessment. They did not. In fact, it looks like all they did was plug in the computer, and then the called me up offering to replace all the (functioning) parts, some of which were already swapped out by the previous mechanics. They also failed to do two other minor unrelated fixes which I authorised and signed for when I dropped it off and they did the walk-around. They didn't bill me for them, but they didn't do the work requested. I also had a specific time slot booked for the service, and they sent me home because they said they couldn't get to it for a couple hours, and I just barely got it back in time before I had to go to work.

In short, the service team was backlogged, and I think used my car to regain some time by only doing about 5 minutes of work before moving on and billing me. I wasted my money because I already knew what they told me from the other two mechanics.

VW Waterloo is our goto dealership for warranty related work and/or dealer supplied parts and service. They're always happy to help and really know their stuff!

Once again I had the pleasure getting a new VW from Volkswagen Waterloo. I cannot say enough good things about the quality people and service from this dealership. These folks are VW enthusiasts and know their craft. I always feel welcome and taken care whenever I visit. They are building a new state of the art facility to better serve us and I look forward to many more years of continued patronage.

I purchased a car from these folks at the end of May and was generally happy with the experience with the sales person. The financial manager was a different story, who insisted I sit with him for an hour when signing the paper work to try and up sell me on every addon imaginable. Even when I said no multiple times he was very pushy. He also told me that my credit application would be bolstered by VW's outlandish Gap insurance. I had to chase them down for confirmation of my credit application and then it was insinuated again that gap insurance was a condition of my approval. Needless to say it wasn't. I love my new car and working with the sale team was excellent but the financial manager just came off as a greasy salesman for my liking. I won't return.

I have been a faithful customer of VW Waterloo for 20 years now. They have treated me fair on vehicle purchases, and I trust their service department. Have purchased 4 vehicles over the years.

I like this location much more than other VW locations.

I went in for an oil leak. I dropped off my car in the morning and the staff offered to shuttle me to work and back to the dealership at the end of the day.

As a first time vehicle owner I did a lot of research and visited numerous dealerships around the KW area. Needless to say, at Volkswagen Waterloo I experienced the best customer service anyone by far! Everyone is very welcoming and knowledgable and give you all the information one needs upfront. I'd like to personally thank Robert Vagacs for all his help and patience in making my buying experience the smoothest ever!! I was a first time car buyer and a student out of town which made the whole process a little more challenging, but the salesman that I worked with, Roy, was fantastic! Roy would make sure that he sent out information to both me and my dad, who was helping with the "bargaining" and sales portion, and was so accommodating to our needs, while I was out of town. With continuous check ins and helping me find what I truly wanted, I had a great experience at VW Waterloo. They defiantly didn't need to go out of their way to accommodate me since I am so far out of town, but each time I spoke with them over the phone or my dad told me about his experience going in they were so personable. I will for sure be dealing with Roy, and this dealership again, and will continue to recommend!

I was somewhat hesitant and nervous upon entering the dealership on Friday May 27, 2016. Having never been to a dealership to buy a new car and knowing nothing about what to expect other than the nightmare television and movies made it out to be. I spoke with Robert Vagacs who totally put me at ease, he was not pushy and did not try to sell me things I was not interested in. He answered all of my questions and really made the process smooth/painless. After ironing out details with Robert I spoke with Shawn Hagen to work out the financial details, which again was smooth/painless. He answered all my questions and concerns and did not try to push anything I did not want on me, he even went the extra mile to help me get my new car off the lot as soon as possible! All in all I had a truly wonderful experience dealing with these two gentlemen and would recommend them to anyone looking to purchase a new VW!
