I recently bought a beetle 2014 from this dealership, which is my first car ever. I did a lot of research online, and have been contacted with dozens of dealers. Finally I decided to buy from them, and I made a very good choice.

We only talked on the phone before I decided to go and buy the car. They gave me a very good price, and they honored the deal. And because this is my first time buying, I had tons of questions, but the salesman Darwen was very patient and helpful, always thinking from my point of view, sometime without me asking he already give me the info. Because everything was settled on the phone, when I went there, it only took about half an hour and I drove my new car home.

It was an excellent experience, and I was very satisfied.

Bought my wife a Tiguan only 2 months after purchasing my Audi A3 from one of their Audi locations. Being that this was our 3rd vehicle purchased from the franchise we were very well taken care of. Great experience with Jayson picking up a solid Mercedes-benz that was aggressively priced for the certified used car market. He led us thru every step of the way providing more than we could have asked for. Only part of the interaction that blindsided us was waiting a few hours for the car to get its free detailed, but it was free so not too much to complain about there...

I'm a VW driver of more than 20 years' standing. I called the Jack Daniels showroom to request a price for a specific Jetta model and options during their May 2015 sale. I was put in touch with a salesman, David Li. He gave me a satisfactory number, and asked that I put down a $500 deposit to "hold the price" since the sale I was taking advantage of "ended tomorrow" (it actually ended two days later). He also told me that he could offer me a Passat with the same options for the same price. Since my wife and I needed the vehicle, I made a special trip (about 25 miles) to put down the deposit. When I arrived, I met with Mr. Li and we reviewed the figures he'd given me; I could see that he'd previously written down the exact specifications I'd given him on his legal pad. He told me that he could offer me the Passat, but for a much higher price. I told him that I therefore wouldn't consider it. He then told me that the Jetta figures he'd quoted me were for a base model, and that what I wanted would cost much more. When I told him that was unacceptable, he went to get his manager, Greg King Jr. Greg tried to talk me into accepting a lower priced model that would meet the cost figure they'd previously given me. I refused, and Greg said he'd look into it further and promised to "email (you) later today". After I didn't receive an email from him, I emailed him. He responded by saying that he'd spoken with his manager, Andre Tobar, and that they would not stand by their original offer. I asked to speak with Andre and was told that I could speak with him the day after the sale ended. When I pointed out that futility of that gesture, I received a email from Andre with his showroom telephone number. I called him, but was told that "he'd just left for the day". I asked for an alternate contact number, and sent Andre an email asking him to call me, but of course I never heard back. Jack Daniels Volkswagen of Fair Lawn NJ runs a classic bait & switch operation, and I foolishly fell for it by wasting my time going to their showroom. Why some car dealers act as though it's still 1950 when all of the information about them and their cars is available online is beyond me. Don't waste your time here; the salespeople and managers here are an insult to your intelligence and have absolutely no respect for you.

Update: I received a yelp message from "Jack D." asking that I contact John Nunley, Director of Sales at Jack Daniels VW. I called Mr. Nunley and essentially read him the review above; he said he'd investigate and call me the same day. He called me at 7PM that evening to tell me that, because there wasn't a written offer (which I'd gone to the dealership to obtain--see above), I had no business holding them to their offer. Lesson: have ANY dealer confirm their quote via email to you before you visit them. That said, I haven't ever been treated as shoddily as I have been by Jack Daniels Volkswagen, and I stand by my review. AVOID THEM.

Website has cars that are mismarked. Pour customer service. Told me the car was sold that I was told via email I could come in to see. Made it seem like I was the one who "didn't understand." Planned to buy the car, same day. Won't be back. Do your homework... Then double check it.

So I went in because I had a recall on my car and also because my heated seats started to burn right through. This particular dealer told me I would have to leave my car for a few days for the recall (didn t get to because they only accept CREDIT cards for their loaner) I asked to only take care of the seat issue then since obviously I don t want my car going up in flames. They tell me it s 160 for the diagnosis on top of whatever it is to repair and labor. Any reasonable person once they hear your car has a high potential of going up in flames with a manufacterer defect is going to try and take care of it ASAP. Nope not them, they argued with me over and over about payment. I left and called VW Gensinger in Clifton who immediately told me to contact headquarters and let them know what s going on because situations like this NEED TO BE REPORTED TO VW. I call vw HR and long and behold they said these situations are 100 percent covered in diagnosing what the issue may be. So I go to Gensinger without having to pay for my diagnostics and come to find out my seat needs to be replaced, what I need has to be flown in from Europe because no one in the States has it and it s an almost $1000 job that guess what? Is fully covered by Volkswagen. So had I been dumb enough I would ve had to fork over over $1000 to Volkswagen in Fair Lawn because to them it was a typical up keep of my car. I literally had 4 people with Volkswagen who go to this one now switch over after telling them this horrible experience smh OH and not to mention my recall got done in 3 hours not 3 days, do I smell trying to make money any way possible here? Yep

Me and my girlfriend wasn't even sure that we would get approved with interest rate that are really low but they made it happen( Justin in finance ). Definetly want to say Justin in sales did a great job and tried to help in every way he could he is a chill and down to earth guy and will take the pressure off and trust me that really helps when purchasing a car. THIS REVIEW IS FROM A LEASE DEAL IN APRIL. Let me start by saying i am not one to write reviews but this experience was just terrible. I have been leasing for years but this by far is the worst experience. This dealership is the worse dealership I have ever been too, they literally only care about the sale and not the customer relationship, they just see you as a number. I have never been to a dealership so shady in my life. Henry the financial manager should really find another job because the way he handles his business will have this dealership closing very soon. He did not keep his word, his goal is to take as much money as he can from you. He will try to play you like a fool and make you pay more then what was agreed upon, he s literally a piece of sh**. Majority of the sales team here are clueless. David and Mark especially! I will never come to this dealership again and I m going to make sure I tell all my friends and family never to come here. If I could give this dealership zero stars I would but unfortunately I can t. Also forgot to mention my sales guy Chris started out okay but towards the end of the deal he really screwed up, please get your life together and stop trying to get people deals that you don't even believe are realistic.You were nice for what it s worth but brother you need to learn to tell the customer everything that needs to be paid up front and not just keep it a little secret. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL dealership. Nobody come here, I m telling you, you ll hate the experience.

OVER PRICED DEALS AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!
I went to Jack Daniels Volkswagen about a week and a half ago. At first i was treated nicely and thought i was getting a good deal so i left a deposit and was ready to pick up my lease in 2 days. I called another VW dealer to check if i was getting a good deal turns out i was not. the other dealer was able to lease the same car for $40 dollars less a month and a much smaller down payment along with more mileage. Now they are giving me a very hard time about getting my deposit back. I call everyday and some one tells me they will take care of it, but no one ever follows up.

Went into jd vw in Fairlawn last week. The staff was very knowledgeable on the cars and also very polite. They took the time to go over everything since this was the first car I ever bought. Kevin, Greg, and Justin were all so helpful throughout the whole process and very patient. Would definitely recommend top anyone buying a car!

I just leased a 2018 Tiguan from Jack Daniels, and the experience was absolutely great from start to finish. Doug, the salesman who helped me out was very low pressure, and proved to be incredibly patient and understanding in helping me make a great decision. None of us look forward to the process that is buying or leasing a new vehicle, and he and the whole team at JD made the process stress-free and enjoyable. I visited several other dealerships in both the city (I live in Brooklyn), and NJ, and I'd absolutely recommend shopping for a vehicle at Jack Daniels.

UPDATE:Upon my Tiguan lease expiring, I decided to go back and take a VW Alltrack for a ride (which is a car I had been looking at for awhile). After the test drive, I sat down with the salesman and started to go over numbers.

It was more than I was willing to spend, and though the salesman seemed to be a very nice guy, it ended up becoming a high pressure attempt at a sale that just didn't sit right with me.

Three days later, I bought a CPO Alltrack elsewhere with only 4k miles on it, and had a much better experience that has left me feeling good about the whole process.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience trading in our Eos for a Tiguam at Jack Daniels VW. The managers and our sales person, Kevin Sai, were nothing but helpful and supportive. This is our 4th VW. The Tiguan has all the bells and whistles and drives very nicely. If you are looking for a reliable, well-made car, I would sincerely recommend Jack Daniels VW, and ask for Kevin Sai.

This is kind of late review since I bought a Jetta in the end of last year. I and my wife weren't even sure if we were gonna buy any car. But we are about 3 blocks away from the dealer, and decided to take a look. And we think Scott offered us a good deal, and now we love our VW.

i have called several times to get an appointment, people not getting back. Finally i returned my car. 3 months later i got a call from Financial services saying i have a bill of 1000 usd . Explaining me dealer has not reported the car return. Very unprofessional dealer. i would not recommend anyone.

I bought a used 2014 Volkswagen Passat around July 4th and I had a excellent experience. The dealer (Charlie Shin) let me test drive two vehicles and had a lot of background knowledge of each one. This gave me enough time to make a decision and that's how I ended up with the right car. I'm glad that I bought it here and recommend this dealership to many others who are interested in buying a pre-owned car.

if I could give zero stars I would. One star is a gift. Purchased car several weeks ago. Waited around for 3 hours to sign paperwork for a car I paid for in cash. Salesperson, Elvis, seemed completely out of his league. Went to drive off the lot and there was NO gas despite my asking if the car needed anything, and if so please have it taken care of while we waited (it was snowing out and we wanted to get out of there asap). Car was also filthy with cigarette packs in back seat. Was promised reimbursement for the gas - they have gone silent. Now my temp plates have expired and no one will return my calls or e-mail They nickel and dime the hell out of you. My most significant regret was not walking out. Horrible Experience

Worst experience by far. Avoid at any cost, they are scammers from managers all the way to GM. There are much better dealers out there. If you are looking to buy a car this is not the place to go. Worst experience and biggest scammers in.my 19 year car buying experience.

2011 VW jetta shuts off while i am driving on the Highway. i bought this car new so i am the first owner and it really hurts when i see my monthly car note arrive in the mail. i have brought it back to jack Daniels VW service center in Fair Lawn and they still cant tell me whats wrong. i told them that after driving for around half an hour the car just shuts off. this happens mostly when i am in stop and go traffic. the last time it shut off i was merging onto I95 south in NJ off rt3 west ramp. a truck had to slam on its breaks and started blowing its horn repeatedly. to be honest i am scared for my life. i don't even feel safe when my wife and kids get in the car. when my wife drives the car i have to explain to her what to do and how to get the car started again. i have one year left on my car note and this sucks horse crap. i told the service manager after around half an hour driving, the car intermittently will start shaking and the RPM will drop to under 1 RPM and then will continue to drop until the car shuts off. the strange thing is if you turn the key the car starts right back up.... so i would assume its has power. this will be my fourth time back on Monday 7-20-15 so i will give them a chance to check the car but i don't expect much to be done to remedy this issue. after my car note is done how do i sell this car in good faith? but also how do i keep it? i honestly fear for my life and i feel i am going to die driving a 2011 VW jetta that i bought brand new from Jack Daniels Volkswagen in Fair lawn new jersey.

They use every cliche sales tactic in the book. It's a high pressure, overly dramatic pitch. Avoid at all costs. Your ask for one car and they try to put you in five others, and they try to make you sign the agreement before giving you a price / rate. There's much better options out there.

Go to Trend Volkswagen in Rockaway - trust me!! I called JD to discuss my situation and see if they could accommodate before going to the showroom on January 14. After disclosing my credit score and exactly what I was looking to do (get out of my current car and lease a Jetta 2016), Angel, the sales manager, said to come in and he wouldn't waste my time. Well, after three and a half hours haggling with their salespeople I walked out of the finance office when the terms that we originally agreed upon - completely changed.

Trend Volkswagen is giving me more for my trade in - and lower monthly car payments on a shorter leasing agreement (no money down!!!). It's a shame I gave the disrespectful people at JD more than three hours of my time - but I'm so happy I walked. Trend is giving me the deal I deserve, and they have gained a very happy lifelong customer. FYI - they always come in with better rates and terms than JD.

Get it together, Jack Daniels VW. Stop taking your customers for a ride. With all of the bad press VW has had in recent months, dealerships like yours are only doing more damage to the brand. Maybe you should focus on earning bragging rights about your customer service and business ethics - as opposed to your glorified coffee maker - which, based on my experience, is the only worthwhile reason to visit the JD showroom.

Christian McAvey and Kevin Sai were fantastic. Christian, our main salesman, was kind, extremely knowledgeable, and treated my wife and I with the utmost respect. These qualities in a salesman are very important to us as we did not have this experience at other dealerships. Christian treated both of us equally and listened to our questions with care. He took time with us, and never made either of us feel rushed or pressured to make a decision. He ensured that all of our questions were answered thoroughly, and explained everything about the vehicle and the leasing process. We are very thorough customers, and after doing a lot of research, several test drives at other VW dealers, as well as test drives of other similar vehicles at other dealerships, we chose to come back to Jack Daniels VW for a car solely because we had such a great experience with Christian.

My husband and I recently bought a car from Jack Daniels VW. Our sales associate, Kevin Sai could not have been more helpful and courteous. Our lease had ended on our car and I hate car shopping so I was going to just sign a new lease with a newer version of my old car. I'm so glad we decided to stop into Jack Daniel's. Kevin made the shopping experience fun and pleasant. He was knowledgable and understood our budgetary constraints and tirelessly worked with my husband and I. I can t really complain my experience was pretty decent. Justin the manager puts his heart and effort in making sure he meets your needs George my sale person is so relaxed and not forceful . Their were of course disagreements but they always came back with a solution although I Receive my car on Monday. I am able to have what I wanted. Getting a car is no easy thing. Time is very important and they value this at Jack Daniels I highly recommend please get your car from here do not Go anywhere else!!!

It was really bad experience here buying a car. Did everything online just to realize that once I signed all papers before seeing a car (because car wasnt ready) finally they brought the car for which I had to wait 3hrs outside I realized the rims on the car are not the one I saw on the website with the vin number I was looking for. The long story short if I could walkaway and live the damn car there. Really bad experience... Will never ever buy VW just because of this customer service which is nonexistent. My wife got BMW the same week and man what a difference in customer service. You cant compare these two.

Michelle is my service advisor. She acts quickly, delivers excellent customer service. Customer's service drivers are also excellent. Service technicians are also quick, reliable and honest. The auto cleaners also excellent. 100% excellent service. Your vehicle will always be at 100% original, no less but in excellent condition.

Terrible experience. Was looking to purchase a used vehicle, salesperson were polite but then wasted a whole hour to end up hearing the manager mistreat me. Pretty much as if I were the lucky one to be at their dealership.

This place is awesome. We walked in and Casper was waiting for us. Within an hour or two we had everything figured out and they gave us no hassle at all. The whole staff is really friendly and enthusiastic. Greg the manager was great as well, he gave a great deal on the Jetta SEL and Justin gave us a great rate for our loan. I switch cars so often and deal with so many dealerships but by far this has been the best one.

Jack Daniels has provided me with the BEST possible buying experience ever! My car had broken down on me early this morning and I was desperate for a new vehicle. From the moment I walked in the door Kacper Polus greeted me with a warm welcome and showed me my options. I fell in love with a 2012 pre-owned Jeep Wrangler and I wouldn t have I any other way!! Henry and Kacper worked together to get me approved and I walked out of the dealership with the car I wanted and a payment that I was comfortable with. A business is only as good as it s employees. Kacper and Henry as well as the whole Jack daniels family are a very honest and phenomenal group of men to do business with!! Come here next time you need a pre-owned car with short notice. Jack Daniel's is the most attentive and customer oriented dealer in North Jersey. The staff, especially my sales representative, Anthony Mirra, were a delight to work with. I would definitely revisit this dealership and bring in my friends and family.

It's a nice place, in my experience. The staff are friendly. Of course, you have to remember that it's still a dealership and they want to sell you cars. Some of the usual sale techniques apply.

This will be the last time I take my car to Jack Daniels VW. Not only did i purchase my car there I also have it serviced there. I had 4 new tires and an oil change...that was all that was done to the car. I took the car the day before so that it could be worked on first thing in the morning. After 3 phone calls and the service manager Fred not getting back to me I kept at it. It was all smoke and mirrors as to why the work couldn't be done the very next morning. Also, the NO return phone calls is such poor customer service that I wouldn't purchase or service another car at Jack Daniels again!!!

Alex was extremely acknowledable about what we needed. Very much recommend this dealership because of him. 5 stars.

Had a great experience here at Jack Daniels VW of Fair Lawn. Scott Zukowski was our salesman highly recommended if you plan to come in here. He was very honest with us from the start and the finance manager went above and beyond for us too to get us a good deal.

Hands down the best experience I've ever had with a car dealership. I came all the way down from Lake George, NY for a car I saw online. I first started the process with Blendi, and he was amazing and helpful through out the whole process. After getting down there and driving the car I decided I wanted it as long as we could agree on a price. After some back and forth Blendi and his managers were able to give me more for my trade to get my payments to where I needed them. There was a little hiccup in the middle of the process because after running my credit the numbers were not the same and I was going to have to walk away. But EVERYONE from Blendi, to finance, to managers, to the GM worked as hard as they could to get me into the car. Fortunately for me, they figured out how to do it. The whole team is amazing and I can't speak more highly of my experience. I will recommend them to everyone I know; I'll even recommend people from Lake George make the trip to deal with this wonderful dealership.

My cousin just finished school in December and needed a new car. Saw a pre-owned Passat online at Jack Daniels Vw. We met with Kevin and he took us for a test drive in the car. It drove very smooth but there was a few scratches we were concerned about. After going back and forth on price, we finally came to an agreement on the however in the back of my head the scratches still bothered me. Once we got out of the finance guys office we went to go put our stuff in the Passat. When I went to go pop the trunk, almost all the scratches were practically gone, I was shocked. Kevin got his detail shop to buff it out while it was being cleaned. Little things like that really make Jack Daniels and Kevin stand out from the rest.

I returned my lease and Scott ZuKowski was so helpful, efficient, and understanding. The team at Route 4 East is great and definitely deserves 5 star rating. Thank you Scott and VW Route 4 East team!

You will be promised a good deal but then you arrive you will never get it.
And the main liar there is Doug Bucci - Business Manager. When you turn to him for help, he will promise you everything but will do nothing, and when you return to him he will hide from you like a coward.

While sad to say goodbye to and trade-in my 2003 VW Passat (originally purchased at Jack Daniels VW in November 2002), we are very happy with our new 2017 VW Jetta SE lease.

Scott Zukowski and Justin Pinton went above and beyond to deliver excellent client service and to manage the client experience during the trade-in and leasing process. Both Scott and Justin answered all my questions and it is very clear they are subject-matter experts.
