Great experience , easy to schedule , took us early, and had a very comfortable place for us to wait.
2 weeks have passed and my deposit still hasn't been credited to my credit card. Shameful business practice.
This my 4th VW (3rd with Jack Daniels) and based on my most recent experience I no longer have faith in their customer service, operations, and more importantly their integrity. This will most likely be my last VW after being a loyal customer for 10+ years. Here s all the facts about why this experience was absolutely horrible.
* Took the day off work on 7/5 to turn in my lease and finance a new 2019 Tiguan SE.
* Waited 10 minutes just to park since all the employees took up all the open spots and needed to move their vehicles.
* Met Roland Merhej outside as I was walking in. Seemed nice and eager to help. He told me to wait at his desk while he was finishing up a delivery. Waited 30 minutes while other employees are speaking candidly and cursing up a storm talking about their personal business.
* I knew exactly what trim I wanted. Roland informs me the only car that matched the trim was the showroom model.
* After a quick inspection I noticed a ding on the drivers door and was assured it can be fixed via an I OWE YOU from the manager / service dept. This should have been a warning sign but I still decide to proceed with the purchase.
* During the transaction Roland steps off to deal with a customer service issue where he sold a vehicle that another salesman had already sold. He looked visibly stressed out.
* Informed Roland I wanted the shortest term possible. He stated he can do 36 months. When I get to the finance manager it became a 40 month term. With no other choice, I agree since my motive was to pay it off sooner anyway.
* 2 hours later the car is brought outside - In the sun, I noticed a few more scratches on the gas cover and hood. Again, Roland assured me they will polish it away when I bring it in for my I OWE YOU .
* I then had to drive Roland to the gas station and back to fill it up before I left.
* 7/9 - I notice I m missing a plastic part for the left side of the trunk. Called Roland and he stated that he will get the part or take the part from another vehicle. I requested to have it ready for me when I pick up my plates. (At this point I m wondering if my vehicle had been used before).
* 7/11 - I get a call at 10:30am from Roland stating they need me to return the vehicle since the car they sold me was a corporate car (WHAT THE HELL!!!) and they need to exchange it with a new one. Roland asked me to come in and redo the paperwork on the replacement vehicle.
* I call and ask for the manager - Spoke to Justin Pinton and explained everything thus far. He apologized stated that they will deliver the replacement and paperwork to my home instead.
* Waited until 5pm, my plans with my kids completely derailed for the day. Roland delivers the car with completely different (less expensive) rims. (SERIOUSLY WHAT IN THE HELL!!!) It was pouring rain so I didn t get to properly inspect the car as well. I get another I OWE YOU from Justin to swap the rims the next day.
* 7/12 - In the AM after the rain subsided I inspect the car and notice scuffs on the passenger side headlight and on the front bumper. Paid for an Uber to get my wife to work so I could use her car for the day so my kids and I aren t trapped in the house again.
* The car gets picked up while I was away and returned at 2:30pm by service staff members with the proper rims. They managed to buff out the bumper but there were still scuffs on the headlights. Apparently now we are all square and Justin will no longer return my calls to follow up or offer any compensation for my horrible experience.
* At this point I will be escalating this to the corporate level since Jack Daniel s VW is taking no blame for their abysmal customer service.
STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!
I have been to this particular Jack Daniels many times over the past few years and I have never had an issue up until my most recent visit. Unfortunately the service here was horrible. I was lied to about multiple things in regards to the repair status of my vehicle. Not once did they reach out to me, I was constantly reaching out to them on the status of my vehicle and receiving a different story every time. When I finally received my car back, they have always cleaned the inside of my car but not this time. My car was filled with dust and dirt and believe me when I say, my car is well maintained and cleaned at all times. I am sad to say my service in the future will be taken elsewhere and unfortunately no longer recommend Jack Daniels Volkswagen of Fair Lawn.
Amazing service, we did most of the work via phone and email so pretty much went there to sign and drive which is great when you have kids. Everyone there was super friendly and helpful. They answered all questions and were very transparent which is great because I don't have time for games. Best experience ever our sales rep Jason Ku made sure no stone was left unturned which I appreciated.

Beyond disappointed with my whole experience. They have horrible customer service. I wanted to lease a new car and was interested in a demo they had on the lot. There was a crack in the windshield and I was told it would be replaced before I picked up the vehicle and I shouldn't worry about it. I called twice to make sure the windshield replacement was taken care of before I came to pick up the car and was told it was. Went to pick up my car and after signing the lease (which originally was written for $15 more per month than what we agreed to...) I was told I had to sign a "we owe you" to fill in the crack in the windshield. Not REPLACE - just fix. After going back and forth with the leasing manager to try to get a NEW windshield as I was told I would get, I also reached out to the General Sales Manager AND the General Manager and they both IGNORED my emails. Still to this day never responded. The Service Manager also wouldn't return my calls regarding the windshield. After three weeks of calling and three days of my car sitting in service, my windshield was finally replaced as I requested. I will probably never go back to this dealership.
Had a great experience at Jack Daniels VW. Kacper and Doug creatively thought outside of the box and were able to find us a great car within our budget for our teenage daughter. She loves it and we feel great knowing she will be driving a safe car. Highly recommend!
Disgusting costumer service. Spoke to Michelle on the phone who told me they had the car I wanted and would match a deal on the specific car. When we got there they told us they didn't even have the car. Michelle didn't even come down to speak to us.

Jack Daniels Volkswagen has been so helpful in helping us find a beautiful vehicle with a reasonable lease. We did our fair share of shopping around but kept coming back to them because they were willing to work with us to beat out other prices.
We ultimately ended up working with Kevin, who was responsive, personable and easy to work with. We never felt pressured by him and he tried to make the exchange work for us to the best of his ability.

I was very pleased with the information I received from Jack Daniels Volkswagen specially from Mr Piero, who was very knowledgeable and professional about my inquiry on the new 2018 VW Atlas. Hope to deal again in the near future.
I drove down from CT because I found the car in the exact color/trim that I wanted, and this was the only place that had it. I had already secured financing with Chase bank. I got the price that I wanted (through my employer's partnership with VW, no thanks to Jack Daniels), and explained that I had financing, but would rather use VW's recent college graduate program to finance the vehicle, as that method would have VW Credit pay my first month's payment. My original rate through VW was 0.75 pts higher than my Chase rate, which I agreed to because of the first month payment. However, that was applied for not as a college graduate. Finance reapplied me as a college graduate, and the rate was another 0.25 pts higher. Again, I agreed, having made it clear that the only reason I was financing with VW Credit was to take advantage of the college graduate program. The $400+ payment now is well worth the added interest that I would pay, as that could easily be overcome by slightly higher payments.
I left with the car that night, with 3 week temporary plates. Jack Daniels said they would ship my permanent plates when they arrived. Two weeks later, I called back to see if the plates were coming soon, as my temporary plates would expire in a few days. I was notified then that they needed a copy of my insurance card. This took all of 30 seconds to provide, but had I not called to check, I'm not sure I ever would have been asked. My temporary plates expired on Jan 10th. I received my new plates on Jan 12th, so I was unable to drive my new car for two days because the dealership couldn't make a simple phone call.
Furthermore, I had also gotten my first statement from VW Credit, showing my first payment due this month. I contacted VW Credit and explained that I had applied under the new college graduate program. They replied that there was no record of that, and I should contact my dealer. I called and left a message for Ron in finance, asking for him to call me back. The next day, with no response, I emailed my sales rep and asked him to contact Ron. He said that he would. Again, no response. I finally filled out my exit survey and explained the issues. I got an immediate call back from the sales rep, saying I would be in contact with the GM. I got a call shortly after from the GM, Tom, and he apologized and told me Ron would call me first thing in the morning the next day. Around 11 AM I finally heard from Ron. He claimed that he had told me I wasn't applying as a college graduate, but that we redid the financing to a higher rate (and that I accepted financing with VW Credit at over 1 pt higher than I already had) for absolutely no reason. I had spent an hour in his office reiterating the point that the only reason I would take VW Credit financing was under the college graduate program. Ron said he would look into it, and call me back. That was Thursday. It has now been six days and I have yet to hear back from Jack Daniels.
Go anywhere else for a new car. I have no good things to say at this point. All I wanted was to understand what went wrong, but apparently the phones only work occasionally there. I got an apology, and then I got ignored. Stay away.
As far as dealer service Jack Daniels always has been excellent . I have multiple vehicles they help maintain.
After multiple frustrating and nightmarish experiences at Nissan, Hyundai, and Honda, Kacper helped me get the exact car I wanted for a much better price without trying to pressure or deceive us. The entire process was so much more professional and honest than the others I'd been through that I had to leave a positive review. Thanks to Kacper and everyone at Jack Daniels VW you hooked it up.
Had a very disturbing experience with Jack Daniels Volkswagen. Salesman presents 1 deal and ended up with another. Customer service is lacking. Never will do business again. Be very careful.

Vernon was very helpful in trying to get this used 2012 Kia Optima sold to me, he was able to get the pricing I wanted. I was bothered by the fact this car was not detailed when I test drove it, also the cigarette smoke was very strong, fortunately when I came back to the service center they were able to take care of it.
I was thankful to Justin for trying to work with me to get the price that my wife and I wanted. Though I thought he was going to try to knock the price down a few more dollars like we had discussed.
I am a little upset at the fact my licence plate frames were not given back to me when I asked for them. Other than that, it was a good experience overall

Tried to overcharge me and can't explain why these charges are on the bill... $1000+ more. The buying process today is different than 30+ years ago. They treated me as if I was a first time buyer and clueless of what a lease deal was without building rapport with me. Typical dealer who didn't train their staff to sell cars or treat people fairly. Not very knowledgeable sales staff and patronizes the customers. I would suggest only buying from them if you have friends/family that work there, at that still double check your numbers...

I worked with Doug Yeaw on my 2017 GTI deal and had a very positive experience. Doug knows the product and will explain everything to you in detail. Some dealers don't even know the product they are selling, you'd think you were buying a refrigerator.
He took as much time as I needed to look over the car and test drive multiple cars. Finance was easy to work with as well. Doug also makes himself available after the deal was done to answer any questions. Highly recommend

The male staff was rude, you can definitely tell there s a boys club culture. Half of them also did not wear masks inside. There weren t any signs on the doors asking customers to wear masks or any notices or about keeping the space and cars clean and sanitized. I would not recommend this Volkswagen or any other to anyone I know. They overall have the worst customer service compared to Subaru, toyota, Audi and hyundai.

Jack Daniel s Volkswagen on Route 4 is most certainly the place to go. The level of customer service and patience expressed by Paul was first and foremost most impressionable. Paul was client friendly and realistic in speaking about what vehicle would be best suitable for me. Greg also gave amazing management advice and he assisted flawlessly in assuring that all of my needs were met on behalf of my vehicle and some minor maintenance which needed to be completed. I shot Greg a text over a small misunderstanding and he immediately reassured me and conducted our business expectations accordingly.
This was an altogether great experience with my first dealership and they for sure set the bar as far as Jack Daniels Volkswagen is concerned.

JD told VW credit they did not have possession of the 2015 Jetta -

JD Never made the final car payment that was added to my lease payments- 60 days passed due on my credit now!!
I NOW HAVE A CREDIT SCORE 60 POINTS LOWER!!
JD Never paid VW for the Wear and Tear that I paid $3,400 to Jack Daniels to pay.
I Faxed copies as well as emailed copies of bills to him -
Phoned multiple times -
I then spoke with the General Manager, Don Chittum -
He stated that he would call me the next morning - NEVER returned my call -
I called 3x Leaving 2 messages!!
It was NEVER taken care of until I involved VW CREDIT!!
Now, my credit is down -
There is still NO Inspection Sticker
There is still NO Registration Card
I have wasted hours upon days trying to resolve -
They get a free pass from fulfilling any responsibility -
You wave the Wear and Tear charge to JD of $561.00
(While they have my $3,400)

Just leased my second car with the Jack Daniels dealership and had such a great experience once again! Les in sales had already helped me previously over the phone to pick the car that had all the features that I had been looking for so when I walked into sign the papers it was a breeze. When I went into the finance department it took no longer than 20 minutes to sign the paperwork and receive my car. The sales and financial team were super helpful in answering all my questions and not to mention friendly! I recommend this dealership for all your Volkswagen needs.
Be Careful Buying a Used Car Here-my car had water damage from a leak and a back up camera that didn't work. Dealership couldn't fix camera and ignored request to assist with the leak-had to spend a thousand dollars to fix on my own with numerous trips to the brand's dealer. No offer or apology to fix the situation-was told service manager out for a month and no further response from dealer. Was ready to buy another car and they knew this and still didn't offer any assistance so bought a car elsewhere. They lost me as a customer forever and all my friends and their friends were told the story.
Customer service or lack of goes a long way-they dropped the ball big time.
Jack Daniels has great customer service. Kevin Sai and Jason Ku took a negative experience from someone else's poor communication and turned it into a positive experience. Especially Kevin! Jason made the closing process super easy.
Came in and was originally intending on only browsing as I wasn't quite sure what to get however I've had my eyes on a Jetta for a while. Vernon was very helpful and convinced me to purchase the Jetta of my choice at a great deal.

Went online to search for a used car and found a well priced one at Jack Daniels VW. I made an offer on the car online and the salesman got back to me saying the car was in stock. He was a very nice guy and we talked on the phone about the car and decided to have a meeting to test drive and possibly purchase the car. So we made an appt between his hours of 1-9.
I arrive at 6:30, the time he says we will meet. I find out he has gone home and left me to another salesman who brings me out to a car that was not the car I placed an offer on. I tell him this is not the car and he says "Oh that car was sold in April." It was late June at this point.
I was so annoyed! They told me it was in stock and would have it waiting for me and they knew it wasn't there. Completely awful service. Waste of my time

I live two hours away in NY and first found Jack Daniels VW while passing through NJ. I've owned 10 or 11 Volkswagens and the last 3 came from Jack Daniels, all future VW's will come from here as well. I've been impressed at the ease of doing business with them. Living two hours away, they have made it so incredibly easy for me to stop in, find a car I want and leave with it the same day. All with no hassle or haggle over pricing/payments. I live ten minutes from a local VW dealer here in NY and I decide to drive two hours for Jack Daniels sales and service if that tells you how happy I am. Give a call or stop in and see Menthor, he made my purchase this past Monday EASY and COMFORTABLE!
My experience with Volkswagen was amazing. I walked into the dealership knowing exactly who I wanted to talk to, Doug B., since he had been so helpful the last time we bought a car from this dealership. Since he was no longer the sales man, he directed us to Doug Yeaw. We knew we wanted to buy the Passat so Doug wasted no time in showing us the different car packages available. He explained everything to us very thoroughly and when we took the car for a test drive, he explained all the features of the car to us in detail. Doug Yeaw was amazing and so patient with us throughout the entire process; he made it so smooth.
The management team, Doug Bucci, was outstanding as well and I was helped with an amazing deal on the Passat that we bought.
Both Doug's made our second experience at Jack Daniels amazing and they both did a great job with helping us through the entire process. I highly recommend this dealership to anyone who is considering buying a Volkswagen. 5 stars to both Doug's and the entire team at Volkswagen!
Overall I've been happy with JD in Fairlawn. My one beef was buying the vw maintenance care package (free 10, 20, 30 thousand mile checkups). It was presented to me as 3 years of free oil changes when I purchased the car and turned out to be not the case. Half my fault I guess for not delving into it more at the time.
One because I couldn't give zero. Absolute waste of time. The customer service is atrocious, unless of course you have a surefire sale or a stack of money in hand. The salesman kept leaving us to help other clients as they came in even though I had an appointment. One would think that having a family history of purchasing roughly 7 cars would warrant adequate let alone good service, not at Jack Daniel's Volkswagen. My advice? Go to another place, in fact, buy used before you come here.
Kacper is a great salesman who makes you feel like family. He sold me a car for a great price in an hour. I am highly satisfied!!
Be very CAREFUL with this dealership as they do not care about the consumer but making money. They can sell you anything that looks good on the outside but has many problems that they HIDE from you.
Very disappointed, I brought my car into service to change the oil. Jack Daniels removed my licence plate covers and replaced them with theirs. I asked for the old ones back, did not receive them after numerous phone calls. Made another call today, no retuned phone call
My experience today at Jack Daniels Volkswagen was flawless and was mostly made possible by product specialist Les Aglus. He was terrific and made the process of buying a new Jetta today very successful.
I had been a customer of Jack Daniels Volkswagen for nearly 19 years. The last car I purchased was a Certified Pre-Owned EOS. From the day I bought it, it has been nothing but problems. I have been to the Jack Daniels Service Department about once a month in the last year. Two weeks ago the "check engine" light came on - apparently the car stalled and wouldn't start when I brought it in to service. They diagnosed the problem as a timing chain, which when it breaks damages the engine. Cost to repair: from $7000 - $11,000! And, General Manager Don Chittum said I am "not eligible for good will, the car is out of warranty and it has 95,000 miles". Good will is earned - I have been a customer for nearly 19 years, I have had all my service at their dealership, I've spent an average of $500 a month there for the last 9 months - how do I become eligible for good will??? Oh, and they got their last pound of flesh out of me....they would not allow a tow truck to take the car away until I paid another $150 for the 'time the tech had put in to the car'! Buyer BEWARE! NEVER GO TO JACK DANIELS VOLKSWAGEN AGAIN! Oh, and someone from the service department called me today to see if I was satisfied with the service I had! I told her to ask the service manager. They do not have a clue what is going on and obviously do not have any idea what 'customer service' means. I would give them no stars but that is not possible.

We would definitely recommend you buy your car at Jack Daniels. These guys actually want to make their customers happy. Donald Chittium was honest and followed through with what he said he would do. He sat with me and my husband for a while and took time to explain our options. So we bought the car that was right for us. If you need a car go see Donald. Thanks for making it easy!!
Left a deposit of $500 for a car on May 31st and still have not got my money back. Do not TRUST these people. They do NOT have your best intentions in mind. Salesman by the name of Ricky is a liar and finance manager Doug is even worse. Keep in mind that this was only a deposit, imagine financing or getting your car serviced from them. Don t waste your time.

In October 2013 my daughters bought me a car from Jack Daniels Motors in Fair Lawn, NJ. This was a huge sacrifice for them financially. About 6 months after the car was purchased, I needed to replace the battery, which I did at the Jack Daniels Motors dealership. I have taken the car to a dealership for all service. Volkswagen states that the oil should be changed every 10,000 miles on this vehicle, however I had the oil changed about every 5000 miles and meticulously maintained this car.
Then about two weeks ago my oil pressure light came on. I brought the car to Jack Daniels for service. They changed the sensor and the light stayed on, they ran an oil pressure test and said that the pressure was good. Volkswagen then said that the software needed an update, which they did and the light still stayed on. Volkswagen then said that it may be electrical, but they never checked the oil. They said the car was safe to drive, so I brought the car home while deciding what to do about changing the wire since it was a very expensive "possible fix". In the meantime, I had the oil checked and there were flecks of silver shavings in the oil. The service adviser at Volkswagen said that the engine is bad and needs to be replaced. My service adviser requested assistance from Volkswagen on the engine replacement since the car has perfect service records and the car does not have that much mileage. He informed me that Volkswagen would not offer any assistance at all. I called Volkswagen customer service and spoke to Saida. After explaining everything to her she told me that Volkswagen will not give any assistance with the motor replacement at all.
I went onto the Volkswagen Group homepage and got the emails for Mr. Woencken Hinrich the CEO of Volkswagen Group of America, Mr. Anu Goel - Executive Vice-President, Group After Sales & Services at Volkswagen Group of America and Mr. David Duran - Senior Vice President, After Sales. I received a call from a gentleman named Kevin Scott who stated that he was calling on the behalf of the above-named people and told me that Volkswagen will not assist me with the motor since the car is too old (it s a 2011). They never once looked at my car, never saw the immaculate condition and I m sure they did not review the maintenance records. If they did, they would see that this is a great car with a faulty engine that they designed and built.
I then called the general manager, Donald Chittum at Jack Daniels dealership in Fair Lawn to see if the dealership would give me any assistance. I called and left messages for 2 days requesting Mr. Chittum to call me back. I was consistently told that he was in a meeting. When he did call me back on Tuesday, I explained the situation. He said that he would look into it and that he would call me back. I called twice on Wednesday and sent an email to see if Mr. Chittum had any update for me. It is now Saturday and I have not received the courtesy of a call back, but I heard that he did speak to the service department. I am guessing that this was his way of avoiding me and letting me know that the dealership will also not help.
This entire situation has reinforced to me that Volkswagen does not really care about their customers nor do they stand behind their product. Volkswagen has once again failed to be honorable and should not to be trusted!
I had an EXCELLENT experience again at Jack Daniels Volkswagen, thanks to Mark Maclay, Doug Bucci, and especially Scott Zukowski!!. I felt that these men were all friendly, honest, and trustworthy. It was easily one of the best experiences I ever had buying a car and this was my 5th Volkswagen. They made the process very easy both pricing and completing the paperwork on delivery day. Scott was great going over the cars and made sure to answer any questions I had. It truly felt like I was dealing with a friend. I would certainly recommend him and this dealership. This is the second vehicle I purchased from them and I would definitely do business with them again. I usually hate dealing with car purchases, but this experience was exceptional! Thanks for everything Scott, you're the best!! :)
